Tell me there is a way to get voice and data at the same time on the Evo with 3g. If not, I'm taking this beast back.
Nope, that's always been a limitation with 3g. You cannot do both on Sprint's 3G CDMA network. Same for VZW.

I thought everybody knew sprint and verizon can't do that.
And being able to have voice ONLY with 4G has been talked about since the first day EVO was announced.
you can with WIFI on
I'm still lost as to why this is a deal breaker. I have needed that functionality only a handful of times over the last many years.
Some people really buy into the hype that at&t has been pushing these last few months
Wow, you just need to settle down. Having Data and voice at the same time isn't that important.
I just came from AT&T and I can count the number of times I have needed that feature. Most of the times has been when I am on a call and need to look for a phone number in maps or something like that.

same, if it comes down to it i'll just call whomever back.
i'm experiencing MUCH faster data (20-30% speed improvement over [email protected] in my area). so it's a worthwhile trade off for me.
I'm going to keep it for 28 days and see how it works out. I surf the web a lot while on conference calls. Also use it to look something up while talking. Typically, when I need it, I really need it.
I can't say I've ever needed that feature. My only Q for those with the phone, is the reconnect (to data) very fast? I'm assuming it's probably instantaneous.
I had a (long ago) Windows Mobile phone that had this slight inconvenience, only issue was that it took about 15 seconds to get a data connection again.

This is the only reason that I have ever heard that makes any sense...but of course when I'm on a conference call I am also usually at my computer.
There are not many people in your exact situation (conference calls away from desk), so really this is a slight inconvenience for 99% of people.
The ONLY time this has bothered me is when im tethering and i get a phone call or text and even then it only really affected me when I was video chatting with someone or another form of stream. The fact that it goes off when I get a text momentarily is more annoying than the phone call one though, because I tend to get many more texts than phone calls. If i'm on a phone call, I don't need to be tethering anyways generally.

It's also not exactly hard to test...make a phone call, then watch for the 3G symbol at the top of the screen.

It really depends on the person. I used it all time (i am sure we can find these exact points in another thread) but the EVO is well worth the sacrifice for me.
Used it today on my EVO as a matter of fact, I was in WiFi country needless to say

Sim. voice and data is really handy. Ever heard of Bluetooth. Browse the web and talk pretty easily. I can't say it is a deal breaker for me, but with no Wimax ( I refuse to call it 4G as it is not actual 4G) in my area their 3G speeds suck ass. AT&T I get 3.5mb down and 1.5 up. I tested on the Evo at Sprint store and was getting 900 down 900 up. Phone seemed pretty nice but don't think I want to ever go back to a CDMA carrier ever again.
You seriously walk around talking and surfing the web? I have had the urge 2 times in my entire life...

No, But I get a lot of breaks at work and play on the web etc. Like I said it is not a big deal breaker for me but when you get used to it you notice it more....
Bit the bullet last night and picked up one. Really like it so far...

Ok as me and three others have spent the last 24 hours in a car driving from AZ to MN, I must say there were a few times, that no phone had any coverage of any sorts, and these are major highways. We went through a majority of Colorado, and various parts of Kansas, New Mexico coverage from att, vzw, or sprint. And at times we had 1x other times we had 1X than some times we had 3G. Never got any 4g.
I really think the carriers should focus on providing service in general first. You know how the government always talks about x% of people with out highspeed internet. Yea I can tell you exactly where that is!!! The middle of the country.
[/rant]
Oh, so you're volunteering to pay for it?
Would be nice for sprint to expand the 3g by about 3 miles so I could have it at my house >.>

dont be a smart ass to a legitimate complaint that has plagued Sprint for a very very long time.
sprint is the worst, ok well t-mobile is worse....
you should never expect to have great or even sometimes good coverage when you are out driving.
really... this is sprint we're talking about.
i dont know why they abandoned their networks in favor of 4G (realistically they didnt, but they are sure ignoring problem areas) instead of helping their userbase grow and make more money by improving their existing infrastructure, and adding to it. adding to it .. and then adding to it.
4G is nice but its not cellular, it's wimax/data. even though the voice could be going over the 4G, i just dont know.
the cost isn't in the 4G gear, hell an ASN Gateway (used for authentication and allowing mobile devices to jump towers without loosing a signal, costs 10x or more what a 4G base station cost), the cost is in the labor of tower climbers, builders, etc. or and tower rental space.
if you have never heard what tower climbers cost per day or even per hour.. research it.. you'll sh|t yourself.
Yea even though this is in the evo forum and it started as a rant about sprint, its not just them, its vzw, att, and sprint.
No joke right now im tethered, I have 3g(roaming) in the middle nowhere iowa...ok cool,
but my buddy next to me, att has nothing in the past hour or so and my other buddy is vzw and has 1x on his blackberry for those who dont recall that is legacy digital service and isnt even 1X. He can send text messages thats it for get a voice call the signal is that poor, hes bouncing between 1x-3g.
The reality is data is nice, but when count on your phone and your a national carrier, perhaps you should focus on being able to actually make a call first.
Oh yeah, this is incredibly frustrating, and rarely use my phone to talk. I mean, I understand why they decided to start spending virtually all of their resources on 4g. They were dying - they had to do something drastic not just to come out on top, but to stay afloat at all. Ok. I get it. But goddamit, we went for a drive up in north nj, into pa, and even hit a bit if rural ny, without paying any attention to where we were going to end up. Had lunch down by the river, hit some little towns along the way. All in all, a nice day. Until I tried to use nav to get us home. No signal. At all. So no nav. Let's just say it took a bit longer to get home than we expected.

Had motorola not sold the iridium project to the government and then lied to the public saying they lost investment and that it was a failure back in the 90's then this probably wouldnt be an issue today. (they still are very actively involved supporting and developing it and is very very much alive)

which is exactly why i use copilot, data independent but see we recognize this fact. i knew there would be plenty of spots with out data, i knew gsm phones would have issues. but not even having 1x on a CDMA network is just wild especially when your driving established routes.
People rely on their phones from voice to nav. Alot of good, sprint nav, google nav, vzw nav do when you dont have service
Sprint sucks. I only switched to them because it would be cheaper for 3 lines than I was paying for AT&T ($200 plus). I only switched because I really dont go anywhere but my immediate area. God forbid if I have to rely on service while traveling cross country.

This is unacceptable. I love my Atrix, but the only the one thing that is making me get very close to throwing this on eBay and canceling my AT&T Contract (yes...I would still come out ahead even after ETF and what not...but only by a little bit) is AT&T's Service and Customer Service.
While I understand that a lot.....a lot of places do not have 4G/HSPA yet and AT&T is rolling out the service over the year, and I consider this to be understandable as it is "new" technology and only at the "major" markets right now. What is NOT acceptable is having a device that displays H+ when all data speed tests show it below 3G and barely above EDGE. And now while I thought that this was just my phone this seems to be a common trend on this forum and with all my friends that have acquired AT&Ts 4G phones (Atrix and Inspire). But while yes it is AT&T, and yes they are notorious for having a bad network, this is an insult to the intelligence of their customers. Stating to them to their faces, on their devices that they are connected to a HSPA/4G when they clearly are not.
I find it a little (that's a lie....more like extremely) unsettling how much data seems to go out, by which I mean turn off or be cut off. I run 4-5 miles everyday, and having music is a huge part of that. I recently came from a Samsung Focus, which was nice but lacked some of the functions that I needed (Proper Google Calendar Support, Copy & Paste, Multitasking, etc...) thus I switched to the Atrix. The problem is, while on my walks with my Focus, I never once had to have a song on Slacker, Pandora, or Zune stop 3+ times to buffer or stop completely because I went from 5 bars to 0...in open area on a very sunny day. This is what is happening with my Atrix. I have stopped using Pandora, Slacker, and Grooveshark due to how pitiful it is with the AT&T's data connection. I have literally seen my phone go from full bars to absolutely none in an open area, one in which my Focus still maintained full service. As a user, this is unacceptable and I should not have to put my SIM card into a different phone for my daily runs due to how mediocre your network is with regards to a phone that you are now hailing as your "flagship" device.
I have noticed that there is no display for 3G on the phone. In an area I know for a fact is too rural to have HSPA (they just received 3G approximately a year ago) my phone is still reporting H+. I do not know if this is a slip up on Motorola's end or something AT&T is doing this on purpose but I am truly confounded on how you can purposefully choose to display false information to your customers and not think that they would notice. But like I said earlier, I originally thought that this was just my phone and went to the AT&T store to see what is wrong.
First they replaced the phone. No effect, still the same data results, still the same outages, still the same everything. Then they replace the SIM card with a "Newer 4G Card", for which again there was absolutely not a change in anything. The sales rep at AT&T was very confused when I showed him the buffering, or lack thereof, of music and videos, the speed tests, and the phone literally dropping from full to almost no bars within seconds (these aren't that hard to reproduce, it just took him holding my phone and walking around the store to see the bars drop to none and see that he couldn't access the internet or any data after it hard dropped without a reboot). The employee called forth his manager who did not know what to do, and when I said that this was unacceptable and I wanted to return it, I was informed that it would be subject to a 20% restocking fee [$40] and I would still have renewed my contract and need to get a new phone while I was there.
Though I will admit that I am no attorney, I know for a fact that they can not do that as their would be no "mutual consideration" between the two parties in the contract if I were to return my phone, thus there is no contract (in other words, by returning the phone I would have gained nothing yet they would have gained me as a customer for another 2 years, hence my eBay statement at the beginning). I explained that that didn't make sense that I am being force to continue my contract when the only reason I extended it was to get the Atrix and had no interest in any other phones on such an unreliable network. He then told me I would have to call their corporate and return the phone to them, and see what they said if I wanted to go this route. Personally, I feel he is 100% incorrect and wrong here, but there was no reason to cause a scene at the store.
So here I sit, with a phone that constantly drops data and blatantly lies to me about it's H+ status. I know I should cut my losses and just sell the phone online (though with eBay and Paypal fees...who's to say I will make a profit as they gouge you on those), but this is unacceptable. It is unacceptable to blatantly falsely advertise your product in stores and lie to your customers by having the phone display only H+ and EDGE on it, with no in-between (aka 3G). I know this is an anti-AT&T rant right now, and it is meant to be, but this is at a level that is unacceptable and deserves to be investigated by the FCC. AT&T needs to realize that they can not treat their customers like this and expect no whiplash for it.
If anything, Apple has proven that there is no company that is too godlike to get knocked down a few pegs and AT&T is getting to that point. Am I over reacting and acting on emotions due to being treated like **** for a phone I put $200 down and almost a $100 a month for? More than likely, but AT&T deserves a swift, strong, and imprinting kick to the ass for this. Oh well, I'm off to the gym for a bit to relieve some of this pent up anger.
TL;DR: HSPA is showing for 4G and 3G, when it is touted as not being 3G. Data is constantly getting dropped, AT&T treats customers like crap, this is unacceptable and they need to be taught a lesson.
If you're that unhappy with it, return the damn thing. I may dislike some of the crap they did with this device, but hiring an attourney is retarded. ITS JUST A PHONE. They offer 20+ other devices, im sure there is one you'd like

Wow, you should maybe go and audit a first year contracts class. This is an incredibly erroneous statement. The consideration here is the payment of $$ to ATT and in return ATT gives you phone service. It makes no difference that you could have achieved the same result without a 2 year agreement.
There is likely some legal basis for an action against ATT in there somewhere, but there is no way the damages would even cover a hour's worth of an attorney's time.
Cool story, bro.

I am having the same issue. I would get a solid 1-2mb from speed tests at home (live in the middle of no where) with my iPhone 3GS and at the office with full bars 3mb+. With the Atrix I haven't gotten above 900K at home and I tested multiple times at the office and never above 2mb. When it tests the speed dial is all jittery like it's got tourettes or something. It's not a smooth progression like my iPhone was. I am not ready to give up though. Maybe there will be an update or someone on xda can come out with a new radio.
There will be no new radios unless motorola gives it to you directly

I understand how you feel, however, posting an angry rant on here doesn't really help.
Don't waste your time and money on an attorney, just take the phone back like the rest of us here that don't like it and get something else; save your upgrade for something better.
I am honestly not sure what you are trying to sue them for....
most of the issues that you stated have to do with you not getting good service in your area. that isnt at&ts fault (if you know the politics behind building towers. Where I live, work, and play, I get on average 2-3 mb/s down, i never buffer on HQ youtube, and flash videos load with ease. Dropped calls are uncommon in my area as well. If you are not getting the service with at&t then go somewhere else. there is a reason why there are 4 main carriers to choose from.
as for the huge 4g speeds issue, it is clear that backhaul isnt up yet...is it a 4g network? sure its 4th generation network, maybe not in terms of speed, but we arent there yet. so sell your atrix, cut your losses, and go to someone who gives you better service. As long as i am not paying more for "4g," then its all good.
oh, and as for not showing "3g," its because HSPA+ is 3g with enhanced backhaul. you are connecting to the same towers as 3g. that is why 98% of towers will give you H+. once again, the phone cant distinguish 3g from H+ by speed because speed varies to much...that would mean that the phone would have a speed test running in the background constantly.

Good Post, Totally Agree!
OMG, I can't believe you actually made this post. Just return your Atrix, get a new phone and get a new life as well. If there are several operators in your area, just change and I'm sure you'll be happier.
I wish you luck. lol
The point is that you have no leg to stand on as nobody forced you to buy it, and it's impossible at this point to be past your return period.
You honestly think that your lawyer is going to be better than theirs? This is honestly sad and funny at the same time.
It's an effing phone.
Marketing is marketing. When bmw says that their new car can do 0-60 in 4.2 seconds and you can only do it in 5.2 nobody cares and nobody is getting sued. If push came to shove AT&T would just show that in one place you get hspa+ speeds and you're all done.
If you even cared to read ANY general thread in this forum, perform a google search, or a search of XDA, you would quickly and easily find that the H+ is displayed with any 3G reception... You would also know that the backhaul isn't being done at the time of the Atrix release.
Stop trolling up the forum.
Edit: Dont you know attorney's cost money? Don't you think it would be a better investment to just get a different phone/carrier/anything before paying for a lawyer?
according to the dope at my ATT store, the HSPA+ icon is supposed to symbolize where hspa+ is available. he mentioned that "ATT doesn't advertise that we have a 4g network RUNNING yet, as we have yet to roll out back haul to anywhere except major cities (downtown) and ATT stores yet"
I'm guessing once all hsdpa is converted into hspa+ , then the symbol will make sense. It does display an E when your on edge.
On a side note, I guess that means they do have hspa+ running at their stores. someone visit their att store and run a speedtest plz.
I called 1888-211-4227 requesting an airave in order to fix a coverage issue I've been having for the past 3 months.
It started out small but today it got on my nerve, the problem is that all 4 phones would show full 3g signal but when I tried to place a call and send text messages I got a network failure.
Today I was expecting a friend who drove 80miles to bring me a textbook my son needed for college and he told me he would call me when he was at the security gate of my neighborhood.
Security told him to leave because they couldn't reach ANY of my phones and after 2 hours he was able to reach me.
It pisses me off because when I called account services, I got to talk to 5 people who sounded like they knew what they were doing but it turns out they were idiots.
All of them transferred me to the same department over and over until their network failed and the call was dropped.
I got pissed and sent them an email demanding an airave and service for the damn premium data ad on I pay for with 100kbps 3g service.
sorry if I sound like a douche but damn it pisses me off that everyone says they improved customer service when its still the same idiots on the phone.
/end rant
The airrave doesnt always pull your calls when someone tries to reach you .. my ex called me like 5 times in a row and on the 6th it finally rang... better than 2hours but ya never know..
sent from my supersonic evo .:CM7:.
Yea, I will be completely honest, I got an airave, and it was WAY more trouble than it was worth. It kept HOGGING by bandwidth, and I have a 20mb connection, it would slow all computers down to 5kb/s. It would randomly go off and on, texts would come in late (i would get no texts for hours, then i would get 50 all at once). And it messes with the gps on the phones, so its impossible to use Google Maps to map out a route.
damn, I really don't know what sprints deal is, I live in a very populated area where AT&T and Tmo have 4g and 3g without issues, somehow sprints been sucking and they haven't bothered to fix it.
I have full bars of 3g on all of my phones and I can see some cell sites from the roof of my home...I think the 3g tower is close to a 1x tower and the evo keeps connecting to both or something so it cant make up its mind of which tower to use. I'm stumped.

Sure Sprint will upgrade just a little, but only to shut us up long enough to sign a new contract. lol

Of course it isn't because the real information is available on our employee intranet. 4G, 3g, and cdma networks are all getting capacity and spectrum increases.
You're the one that doesn't know what your talking about. These aren't lies or emails that we AREN'T "required" to read.
As far as Wimax goes, Sprint doesn't exactly know what they are going to do with it. They are either going get rid of it completely and use LTE. OR use both Wimax and LTE.
Unless you have anything to back up your information then I suggest you shut the f**k or take your whining somewhere else.

omg. lmao. yeah, he's reading his company emails. LMAO!!!!! I can't say who I work for but I see the same emails. then I talk to the ACTUAL employees that work on the towers and they do less than 2 hours of work a week. They actually told me they know about towers that haven't worked right in a year and won't go out their and fix it. lol oh well.

In the spirit of the OP, I'd like to say I'm curious to hear if you get your AIRAVE eventually, and what it takes to actually convince them to send you one.
I live in a valley where the closest Sprint tower is shamefully far away, and services a staggering number of people. Calls rarely drop, quality is fine, and data speeds are okay, but I'm lucky if my cell signal ever surpasses -96dBm. I spend so much time rubbing up against -105dBm that my Evo idles to death in about 10 hours. I compared mine to a brand new stock Evo, and they both fail equally.
So, I tried calling Sprint for an AIRAVE, and while one rep confirmed that I am indeed in a low-coverage area, everyone I spoke to after insisted that nothing's wrong and I should take my phone to the store if I think otherwise. (I'd say with my cell signal, and an average EVDO Ec/Io around -18dB, they'd have to offer me a 100k salary before I'd call my area anything BUT low-coverage.)
On that note, the first rep I spoke to warned me that only the technical support department can comp you an AIRAVE, and technical support warned me that their computers need to indicate a problem before they're allowed to do that. Also, you might want to be ready for a fight if you expect them to waive the monthly fee - I got a few 'no's about that before even being told I couldn't have an AIRAVE.
Anyway, good luck, and let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the reply, right now it kinda blows since I had to buy skype credits in order to be able to work...
As the others said about sprint fixing their towers, we are going to be the last place... do you know why? Everywhere around the island everyone has either an iPhone from AT&T or a blackberry curve 8530 from local gsm carriers, and every time someone asks me about my cell provider, they say its crap because of their service. Sprint stores are always empty when I walk past them in the malls. People here don't see sprint as a national carrier, instead they see it as a local cdma provider.
Sprint took forever to actually begin testing WiMax here and it sucks hard, I hope they get it at full power soon when its officially announced. 3g has always sucked, there are like 5 CDMA carriers using the same towers...(Sprint,Virgin,Boost,Open Mobile,Centennial, etc) This is the cause for network overload, also I would love a data cap, maybe thats what people need in order to let others have at least 500kbps download speed.
I was about to switch to tmo...and the day I went to do so the merger wasd announced so I'm kinda stuck with sprint for now.
If you do decide to bail on Sprint, I saw a pretty hot tip in the Evo 3d section earlier that may help you.
Sent from gingerbread-evo-deck
Yeah I saw it, its regarding some increase or something, I'm going to go check out tmo and see how much 4 android phones will cost me a month, if I get a nice comparable deal I will drop sprint.
All I had to do was call customer service, say I can't make a phone call from inside my house and it's been like this since the service started. Three days later I had an air rave, no cost to me. I didn't have to threaten or even get angry. In fact, it was one of the best customer service experiences I've ever had.
Its a chance game, you got a good rep, I got 2 dudes and 2 girls who had no idea what I wanted or an airave was...
Do you regret getting a spark phone? I really hate the idea of losing simu voice and data. To those of you that used to multi tasking-do you miss that? Enough to want to switch back to a 2 band phone?
Sprints coverage map says I live in a perfect spark area, but they say that about 4g too and I get speeds of .55u, .65d 80p (last speed test). So I am nervous about trusting that-starting not to trust anything from Sprint. It just seems ridiculous to be the only us carrier not to support simu v/d. From what I have found voLte is not a priority. On Sprint community some reps are saying that they are "working on fixing spark to allow v/d" but is that like saying we are working to pay down the national debt (to quote another frustrated user). V/d on Wi-Fi is pointless to me- if I am at home I can use my house phone or my computer so I don't need both, but away from home is when I need simu v/d.
Not enough to switch back to my s4.

Ya it really sucks sprint made all new phones with sparks without even having it deployed all over the country wish these crappy sparks phone tech would have waited jnyell they could have figured out how to get volte working properly. The note4 easliy could have waited and not forced that crap sparks on us

Nope not at all. Very rarely do I find the non-simultaneous voice/data thing a problem. Besides this is a temporary thing until they get VoLTE going by 2016. Having spark and getting LTE in interior of buildings is well worth the trade-off.

The problem I see with that is-this is Sprint we are talking about here. More than likely they will have some backward 3rd world engineered system that gets delayed 2 years then when it gets half deployed they will realize they forgot to include an on switch or something, and end up scrapping the entire idea. I hate to plan on them doing anything when they say they will. Better off planning that it will always take them an entire contact period longer than what they expect.
I love the idea of better penetration I am just afraid of the wrong kind since we are dealing with Sprint lol.

That is a really old article that has no backing from Sprint. Especially since Sprint has said it is not planning to do volte. Not to mention that according to the article we should expect it now and not in 2016. Sorry but that is just speculation. Granted even if it was an official Sprint release I would not hold my breath. I would love to see it, but I highly doubt it will happen in the next 2 years.
Where is your link proving somebody still in charge has said that? Anybody from Softbank? I don't think so. I'm sure you can get a s3 for cheap still these days lol. Then you can rid yourself of your distrust from your best frienemy sprint lol. Not that serious to me. http://telecoms.com/304831/sprint-to-take-its-time-over-volte/

I am not trying to be argumentative here I am just trying to have realistic expectations. You are correct Sprint has not said that it will not ever do VoLte, but they have said it is not a priority, so it is more a matter of when. According to the second article “The reason you don’t see us rushing to VoLTE is because we’ve already got a strong HD Voice programme, and we’re rolling out a VoWifi product offering too. Over time, we’ll be evolving to VoLTE, but less aggressively because we’ve got a successful technology.” I take that to mean not anytime in the near future- maybe our 3-5year plan, no where do they say 2016 either.
They hopefully have figured out that this is much more of a big deal than they initially thought. Personally I take Sprints lack of talk about VoLTE to mean they are not worried about it much. They have to be worried about it but that does not mean that they will take action any time soon. Hey maybe they are planning a surprise gift for us and will boom one day have Volte ready for us overnight- but like I said I want to be realistic. Historically speaking Sprint has been the king of technical blunders.
It is not that I dis like Sprint or that I distrust them. I think that they are trying but they are such a organizational mess and never seem to actually have thought out their plans before they implement them. I have been with Sprint long enough to know that whatever the project or upgrade- it will inevitably take longer than they announce- without fail. I know enough to not plan my future on what Sprint says is coming- that will only lead to disappointment and anger.
Most people seem to complain about connection service or customer service. I love the voice coverage, data coverage and speeds have always been (and still are to be desired) they are much better than historically but in comparison the other networks do data much better. Customer service has never been a problem for me- phone reps are A+ in my books but then again I have always contacted employee care and not regular overseas CS. My CS experience w VZW was horrendous in comparison to Sprint. In store it is hit and miss- but since I rarely ever go to a store that is not an issue for me. They do need to work on consistency.
I already have a dual band s4 so I can do SVD, but I am trying to figure out if the idea of potentially "faster" data is worth losing SVD. Most phone calls end up with some SVD right now, so what I am going to try to do is resist doing it and see how pisd I get.
My biggest worry is GPS and SVD as well as streaming and calls. I know back in the day that I would stream hockey games and sometimes I would end that and have VMs piled up, other times using a hotspot my dad would get upset because he would get kicked off his connection when the phone rang. I never figured out why sometimes a call would interrupt the data connection and others it would not. It always seemed that if it was a nonstop stream - that the voice call would not interrupt the data call.
Heres the thing....when I first got the note 4 I was upset because I felt mislead due to the fact that nobody informed me of the no V/D situation but I can say that VOLTE is coming I work on cell towers building the infrastructure for sprint AT&T and Tmobile when I had my S2 I never really had true 4g. But then I got my s4 and it was worth the wait....be patient young grass hopper good things come to those who wait....and remember the sprint customer service will tell you.... if you really need voice and data at the same time just use wifi....I mean vome on its 2015 doesnt everyone have wifi enabled cars? Lmfao

I can tell you being I build sprints infrastructure that they are keeping it hush hush but we are building the 65 mhz. System right now and when we get that done they will roll out an update and flip the switch on VOLTE. Its classic sprint to not give any ETA. Hold tight VOLTE is on its way.....I six more months tops

Anyway to verify what your saying?
Glad to hear we might eventually have VoLTE. Even though at home and work I have WiFi and it's rare for me to be browsing the Web while on a call anyways. And just an FYI anyone experiencing alow data look up the classic tutorial about zeroing out sprints proxys. Using ##3283# the ones you zero out are under Multimedia and DSS. You need your MSL which you can get from Sprint. They tried to screw me around but the first rep I had was a moron and said that I was trying to SIM unlock my phone when really I wasn't and even I was that isn't the code I need. Just tell them you're having data issues and you want to reset your profile using ##786#(I think that's the one) and it's asking for your MSL and if the rep isn't a complete idiot they'll just give it to you. Zero out proxys, reboot, profit. Another FYI if you update PRL or profile after this mod it will put them back so you'll have to repeat. My speeds went up about 20%~ after on my note 4.

We have multiple bands and I believe our Note 4 has the one needed for VoLTE I just don't think it's used just yet. I could be wrong though I'm just taking a shot in the dark going off the fact that this phone supports sprint spark.

Wrong.
It has nothing to do with bands.
