I've had this problem since I got my Fuze. Any time I use the flash during picture taking, the light from it causes a glow effect on the right side of the picture (landscape perspective). I unwisely bought an 1800mA battery around that same time that came with a big battery cover, and noticed that when I use that cover my pictures with flash turn out ok. However, I can't stand the bulk of that thing.
Solution: Took the original battery cover off and glued something to act as an internal barricade for the light. It made it slightly harder to get the cover back on, but it does no damage to the phone and effectively blocks the light from bleeding into my pictures.
Just thought I'd share, as I searched and didn't find anyone else mentioning it.
...admittedly, I didn't search terribly hard.

Put a new battery in (2600) and then tried a new ROM.
For the last month I've thought that it was the ROM that caused my Tilt to turn off whenever I slid it open to use the keyboard....
So (not troubleshooting first ) I returned to my original AT&T ROM and SPL figuring if it was still happening, it must be hardware, so I'd return it.
Did all the above, it was still happening. So on a whim I dug out my old original battery, and loh and behold, the problem ceased.
Anyone else have any issues with a new, bigger battery and battery cover causing their Tilt to turn off when you slide the top?
okay, for anyone who is remotely interested, I figured out what was going on:
whenever I slid the top too quickly, the phone would turn off...so I figured it must be something loose with the battery.
I added just a small piece of cotton from a cotton ball between the battery and the cover and snapped the cover back in place.
Now I am assured that the batter does not have any room inside the case to move at all.
Hey all,
I was turning my screen off last night before heading to bed when I noticed that I could still see the picture frame widget while I was stood under my bedroom light....it looked like it had burnt onto the screen as you could only see it faintly while direct light. I then turned it on and off again and the picture frame widget disappeared but area in the top right hand corner of the screen could now be visable again under direct light. I flicked the phone on and off again a couple more times and eventually it was completely blank.....anyone else experienced this? Is my handset faulty or is this just a characteristic of mini TFT screen? I know it hasn't actually burnt the image on the screen as I don't leave the screen on long enough for it to occur and its not just residual light as it doesn't fade, but it will go completely blank after a couple more on and off's.
Strange one,I will try and reproduce it when it is dark tonight
Sent from my Dell Streak using XDA App
wiki term called "Image persistence"
might help u
Aaahhhh...thanks dead101, so just a characteristic of LCD screens....had me worried for a bit!
haven't checked out that terminology yet, but i am pretty sure that LCDs do not have the burn in effect in the way that the old CRTs did.
I've noticed this phenomenon as well, and haven't noticed it on any other device. It always goes away if I press on and off again. I don't know that it is image persistence, because that seems to require leaving it off for a period of several hours to remove the effect, not switching it back on and off quickly.
I'm worried it may actually be a fault where the screen sometimes won't switch off completely. One night, my Streak went from full charge to dead in about 8 hours while on aeroplane mode. Could be unrelated, or could be that the screen was still drawing a current. Who knows... it never happened again. Annoyingly I could not get the "what's been using my battery."
Either way, whenever I notice that part of the screen is still visible after putting it on standby, I always switch on and off to clear it.
This may seem trivial to most of you, but it was annoying me to no end. After numerous battery pulls and a slightly larger 1500mAH battery, the lower connection of my back cover (battery cover) was loose. So every time I picked up the phone, or went to press the trackball it made a creaky sound. Minor to some, but those of you who idolize your Incredible will know what I mean.
I spent some time with it today and found out that it was due to the bottom hooks coming loose. They seem to be on some sort of spring-action, which wears out over time and does not hold the cover on tightly any longer.
I fixed this by cutting off some tiny pieces of a black twist-tie and wedging it into the top of the little hook with a tweezer and tack. This holds the hook in place and, in turn, keeps the back cover from coming loose. So far it's been working great.
I apologize for the trivial post, but I saw this on several other forums and preferred this solution to the business card, electrical tape workarounds I read elsewhere.
The camera light on my Nexus 4 will not turn off, and the really weird thing is that it stays lit even after the device is powered off. This likely is caused by liquid damage from earlier today when I accidentally splashed some water into my open briefcase with the N4 inside. The phone has been powered off for several hours now -- and is inside a bag of rice as a last resort for rescuing it - but the camera flash is still lit. Before powering down I tried turning on and off a flashlight app that's installed, but it failed to shut off the light. I also tried to take a flash picture, but the camera app failed to open. Everything else seemed to work OK - the display, the voice and data - except there's no audio from web streaming.
I'm wondering if anyone has heard of or experienced this - especially the light staying on when the device is powered off. Thanks for any help.
I'm posting this follow-up in case anyone ever searches the forum about this problem. I'm certain this was caused by the liquid exposure, but luckily everything returned to normal after storing the phone powered-off in a sealed bag of rice for a day and a half (and for good measure, inside a car parked outside on a dry, sunny 85° day). When I removed the phone from the bag, the camera flash was off, and I assumed it had discharged the battery. But in fact there was still about a 40% charge remaining on the battery when I connected the charger. So the camera flash must have shut off at some point while drying out. In the weeks since the water spill I haven't found any other glitches with this device, so in this case at least, the bag of rice did the trick.
Hi Guys,
Read a lot of posts about the red light of death but not had any joy as yet.
So screen cracked, I got a replacement and changed it, got the flashing red light and after quite a few hours of changing that would randomly stop the phone started up fine and I got everything working. Phone was still on about 75% change after some usage so that night I left it connected to wall charger and when I woke up in the morning it had the solid red light of death. I have since opened it up and disconnected batt for a few seconds and connected it back up without the screws (some posts suggested it was too tight with the screws?) and still nothing, only other thing I can think is the back cover has a slight gap on the top left hand corner. I know it is supposed to be flush but I didnt think such a small gap would cause red light of death?
I'm not sure if it is bad battery (did take a very long time to charge when I did get it up and running after screen replacement) or if it is back cover. Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem?
Cheers
