ActiveSync wasn't finding my phone last night, so I soft reset it. When it started up, it's stuck on white screen (where the blue, windows mobile screen should be). ActiveSync cannot see the phone at all.

I've put it into bootloader menu (SPL 1.09) and connecting the USB cable changes "serial" to "USB"
Windows XP finds "HTC USB Sync" device and ActiveSync's wheels start turning.
A few seconds later, ActiveSync stops wokring, saying the device can't connect.
All I want is to recover my SMSs, the rest I don't care.
Is there a way to connect to the phone's files in 'HTC USB Sync' (bootloader) mode??

I managed to upgrade to 1.09 while stuck in this white screen... is there any fix to the white screen?
The other forum post didnt work, tried the battery off for 20mins, the usb plugged in with no battery (phone doesnt even turn on this way)

Have you tried to flash from SD card... There is a guide i WIKI.
yeah, I had to hard reset and lose my data
i also have the white screen. it just died one day, at the time i didnt even know about roms and i'd never heard of this site.
any help getting it mended would be well appreciated.

Try pulling battery out, other than that, only thing to do is a hard reset.

Details for a hard-reset should be easy to find on this board.
Great reason to backup frequently.
(I use PIMBackup 2.5 everynight at 4am and sbp backup twice a week at 4:30am)

heyy guys i have the same problem with my screen, i bought a new one in ebay, after installed the new screen, i turned on the phone, the screen works fine, but when i turned off the phone and change the sim card, then when i turned on the phone again the screen was in blank!!!
guys if you can help my please i will aprecite it!!! i cant live without a touch screen

My phone gives me white screen every now and then when I reset it. I simply reset again and it's fine.
Seems to occur more frequently the longer I leave the phone without total formatting. (It's Windows - it needs ocassional formatting)
about my white screen
when i turn off the phone and turn on again my screen appears in blank but when i did a hard reset my screen works fine!! i don't really understand my htc 8525 hahaha he is crazy and the call button and end call button doesn't work.

Today, my Uni suddenly turned off. When I started it again, it displayed the first splash screen, then changed to the second one and didn't go any further. I can turn the display of using the on/off button, but when I turn it back on, it only displays the second splash screen again.
Now I found this topic ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=259003 ), but I am not really sure, whether it adresses my issue or a different one (being stuck in bootloader mode, not on splash screen). I will probably read through it tomorrow (don't have much time now), but if someone could at least tell me whether it might help me solve my problem or give me a solution directly, it would be awesome. Oh and btw, is there any chance of saving my data from the device?

ey guys. I've got a used tmobile wing from craigslist and I was just beginning to like it. I have a USB cable for it, and a memory card.
Yesterday, all of a sudden, it just started turn off, and when I try and turn it back on, it will show either a White T-Mobile screen, a full BLUE screen, or an all-white screen.
I just want it back. I called a cell phone repair shop, and they said it may need to be re-flashed, but they do not have the software. T-Mobile couldn't help me out either. Is there anyone that can help me with What I need to do?

go to t-mobile web site and download the factory rom and plug your usb cable to the computer, hold your camera button down and your volume button down and turn it on, this will give you a multi collor screen then you can reflash. good luck I hope this helps

So my 3 month old OP2 suddenly decided to sack its screen even thou the buttons are still working. Just before this happening I set the phone on "Charge only" while charging it from my laptop and now I cant acces it through PC either... Booting in to recovery wont help either, still black. Cant be even sure if it goes to recovery..
I contacted OnePlus with my problem and I tryed the tricks they offered. Didnt work. Now they want me to book a online meeting with their wiz who would remotely try to fix my phone, problem is first free times in their booking list are next weeks friday (26.2.2016) so I'm supposed to live without a phone until then.... not going to happen.
I was wondering if you guys know a way to enable USB debuggin or way to change the USB mode without my screen?
Tryed to Google my way throught but cant seem to find anything similar about OP2..

Really bummed about this :/ OP2 had been so good for me and suddenly the screen went black for no reason, worked just fine couple minutes earlier.. If this doesnt work out, Ill try to return the phone and go back to Samsung or something :crying: smh
So my girlfriends s7 screen is completely black now. She has a password set on the phone and developer options are turned off. The guy at Verizon says they won't be able to get data off it. Smart switch says the device needs to be changed to MTP but I can't see what I am doing.
Any ideas?

Is the LCD dead? Have you tried hard resetting it? I had one in for a repair that just needed a hard reset. Otherwise, as long as the information is important enough, get the LCD repaired and you will be set.
What happened prior to the screen not working? Do the back and menu backlit buttons light up? I had a S5 that did that a while back and turns out it just needed a charge. For some reason the charger had stopped working and I didn't know it. I know its a dumb question but have you tried that? Do any LEDs come on when the phone is charging?
