Hey guys had my phone like a week or so and already it seems its faulty able to see lockscreen try to slide up moves a few cm's a time and never fully unlocks, able to use camera button to access phone but still unable to click anything via touchscreen other then lockscreen.
anyone had this problem or do i neeed to send back?
...when you restart phone it doesnt start with lock screen, can you use it, what hapen then?

my phone came back from service with new software, but i had to send it back again, coz it's probably a hardware failure

Hi... Currently i have the same problem with you...
1.Slide unlock it just few cm and cant unlock the phone...
2.On Off Phone... dont let it to stanby mode... few minute ago then can touch like normal...
3.If im go back to standby mode... i turn it on... then will back to cant touch... 4.Until next restart and wait for few minute...just like Num2.
Can i know what problem isit?
Im downgrade and Upgrade the Version... but it still same? anyone know which component is problem?

it seems, the problem was with the mainboard, it was changed, i'm not sure if they changed TS digitizer or so

So i brought dirt cheap s4 from my friend but the phone is dead.
About a month ago he tryied to update android and somehow it failed and the screen stopped working.
This is what i know so far:
Phone turns on, plays all the sounds and etc
Screen dosent work (got it working for about 3sec once) but all the buttons work (sound, home, back key etc)
Computer, kies and odin recognizes the device.
Kies dosent let me update firmware because battery is too low (i have been charging about 1hour now but the red light dosent go away)
Cant get into download mode.
I googled and found that some people have the same issue but coudnt find any good soulutions.
So if anyone has any ideas how to fix this i would be really thankful.
E: Found the problem, it was broken screen cabel.
Somebody can delete or lock this thread.

I recently had an accident with my phone and the screen broke into a 1000 pieces but is still together in the mobile.
I am trying to recover the pictures in the internal memory of the S4, and then the insurance will give me an exchange phone.
The problem I am currently having is one that I havnt been able to find on any post on any website, The screen is broke so the touch screen doesnt work, the start button seems to not be working or does work but nothing is shown on the screen or on the LCD light to indicate its on. I am trying to plug the phone into KIES 3, But the phone is not found/recognised so dosnt appear on the screen, I try to press the start button but nothing happens to make it recognise the phone. So seems Kies is a dead end here as it dosnt pick it up, and I also know that USB debugging is not enabled, as I found out by trying to use DR FONE FOR ANDROID, I manage to get to the 2nd option screen but says the USB debugging has to be enabled to work, but without being able to see the screen I cannot enable it. Is there any programme to view the phones screen on the laptop/computer and be able to access the system and enable the USB dbug?
I am currently downloading the ANDROID SOFTWARE DEVELOPMENT KIT as I read in some post, but will this resolve my problem or am I gonna hit a dead end???
I am hoping that the ROM/software of the computer hasnt broken or got corrupted as then the phone would be dead.....
Can someone please help me asap, as meanwhile I am without any phone till I am able to repair this one....
May I add that the PC dosnt recognsise it either, no new item appears in MY PC....

I have an S3 neo, it's 6 months old. About 2 months ago i started checking in this forums, and then i flashed cm12, and started adding custom roms to my phone. Everything was well, phone was working fine, and so on.
One morning i woke up and my phone went off, and when i turn it on, it's black screen. I restarted few times, took out memory card, and poof it worked. Was all good.
I left it like that and next morning it happened again. And since then i tried all the ways, like take out battery, hold power button 1 min then try to turn it on after few minutes, and so on. Nothing worked. Pulling out memmory card or sim card didn't work either. It's like this for almost 2 weeks i can't use the phone.
I cant get in download mode or custom recovery i i don't know why it won't react on that. It turns on each time like normally, led notifiaction works, the lights on home and back button works, only screen is black. I can unlock it, and such things but cant see anything.
I even succesfully did a factory reset over play store from pc, but that didn't help either..
Biggest problem is that its under warranty but since custom rom i can't take it to service unless i have money to pay... which i dont
I have NEVER DROPPED it, it was never in water, and so on. Doesn't have a scratch at all.
It even has sound, and everything. Just freaking black screen ....
So what i am asking is if anyone here knows how to remove custom rom and custom recovery over pc,is it possible, without the screen? Any way to do it so i can get warranty back ? All i need is a freaking stock rom and stock recovery and a binary reset i guess. Just freaking would need screen to work for 5 mins eh....
If anyone has any ideas please post them, thanks..

I think you can boot to download mode or revovery. The LED notifi and backlight buttons won't turn on if you boot to download mode or recovery.
Just try to boot to...
1. download mode. Just press and hold for 2-3 seconds power + home + volume down
2. then wait 3 seconds. After that press volume up.
3. Connect your phone to pc, open odin and check if a device is connected.
4. If a device was found by odin - flash a ROM (stock or something else) and hope that this will fix the black screen problem.

But when turned on, when i connect to usb odin recognizes it, says connected, and when i try to install the rom i it takes really long and on the end i get fail..*attached the screenshot of fail) I guess because its not in download mode. Any other suggestions how i could get in download mode more?

So what all i tried is
Remove battery, hold power button for 1-2 mins, let phone for few mins and turn it on. didn't work
I tried with adb,but usb debugging not on so cmd cant find my device
Only thing left i guess if someone has idea how to get in download mode in some other way or some program that doesnt reguire download mode but can flash rom and etc.

Take it back to the nearest service center and act the dumb ("I don't know what is wrong with it")

They are prob gonna call me and tell me to pay for fix

try link2sd app form play store. it has the option to boot to download mode. I think titanium backup has the feature also.
My screen is black so i can't do anything on it.....
try to disable ambient screen. report if problem persist

ok so i think your problem isn't due to any rom but hardware problem
power off your phone remove the back , look on the left you see a little trap , open it , now you see connector it is the one of the screen try to see if you can disconnect and reconnect it
power on your phone and see if it work :fingers-crossed:
Where is that little trap?
btw if i do this will i loose my warranty completely ?

If Odin recognizes it, it means it's in Download mode. The device has different interaction with the host over USB when it's not in Download mode.
I don't see the screenshot of the failure. It may be that something got broken in your hardware, so the flashing fails. There's a known issue with the S3 called "Sudden death syndrome", I don't know if it applies also to the S3 Neo, where some of the memory of the ROM fails suddenly. If that is the case (I'm not saying it is, but it might be), there's no fix other than replacing the hardware.
Odin doesnt go over setup connection. cant post screenshot bc im new to the site. btw im sure the phone is on but recognized in odin...

Before this happened, my phone just kept on crashing randomly but today, after it crashed, it wont turn on anymore. I only got a black screen. I did search via google some way that might fix but none of them worked. I tried but hard reset or entering via recovery mode does not work. It will just vibrate and nothing happened. The samsung logo won't even appear. I also connecting my charger while doing hard reset but it does not work either.
So I tried other ways that involves a PC to help fix my phone and I found odin. I tried using Odin but it seems that it also does not work. Somehow, the odin and my pc detects my phone but it still does not work. Logs in odin is showing that my phone is "Added". On my pc, although my pc detects my phone (a sound pops up that it detects it) but it does not show up on my file explorer. When I look it up at device manager, it is listed under Portable USB Device > MTP USB Device.
Also, I tried opening up my phone but the LCD seems fine, I opened it up since I though that the connection for LCD is loose. But this does not work either. Now, I am out of Ideas on what to. Last resort is to take it a service center but I try to avoid doing such because I want to learn how to fix this.
Need help or advise on what to do.
Hmm there's a strong possibility that your LCD may be just completely dead. It vibrates and it's detected but it isn't showing anything. Can't really think of more than that.
