[REF] Guides|WIKI|Where to post|Sharing|Useful Links (Input needed!) - HD2 Windows Mobile 6.5 ROM Development
You came looking here for the best possible ROM for your device. Well you came to the right address.

Requested posting behaviour (read rules):
Leo (also known as HD2)
General (ROM) questions, news or chit chat. Basically anything that isn't a ROM, an Application\Theme or an accessory thread.
Leo accessories
Newest, best, or the coolest accessories to equip your HTC Leo with
Leo ROM development
ROM development! Keep the specific questions to the dedicated threads. Post everything else in general unless you very strongly believe it's needed here.
Leo themes and applications
This domain is dedicated to the software developers and themers who make nicer what is already nice.
Public HTC Leo File Sharing Folder
In due time we will see radio stickies, oem package repositories and shipped ROM threads popping up. Now wouldn't it be nice if there was one place we could all upload it to. I have created a 4share account to do this exact thing. When the dedicated thread pop-up or for the well connected amongst us who wish to share:
HTC Leo File sharing folder You can download and add your ROMs or packages to the kitchen. If you need new subfolders just ask and they shall be added. Warez are not allowed and shall be deleted. This is a little experiment and I hope this will make sharing easier and more satisfying (nobody is forced to use this folder).
Use the Leo Wiki
The Leo Wiki Thread will point you to some of the more common pages in the wiki site, ALWAYS take a look there before posting anything since ALL members are encouraged to use and update the wiki as necessary. The information SHOULD be up to date. If information you think is important is not in the wiki, add it RTFW, or Read the WikiChances are your question is already answered on the wiki: Make sure you browse through the FAQs (Frequently Asked Questions) before you start a new topic. If it's an obvious or common question, chances are someone has already put the answer there.ETFW, or Edit the WikiInformation stored in the wiki is dynamic: The wiki makes it easy for anyone to contribute or edit pages, and link them together, it is the best way to keep all information current and accurate. If you ask something in the forum which you didn't find on the wiki previously, please take 5 minutes of your time to EDIT the wiki and add the information there when you get an answer. This is the only way to avoid tons of new threads asking the very same questions over and over and over again.
Don't be afraid of editing the wiki if you don't understand the wiki syntax: Formatting may seem a bit complicated at the beginning, but you don't have to care too much if you just want to add content, add it as if you were writing a text document and sure someone more experienced with wiki syntax will edit it after and correct the bad formatting mistakes.

Update!
@all: I intended for this thread to be a general overview for users to easily move around the ROM forum (possibly reduce the amount of questions and time to find the thread you were looking for). I have not been around for a while and find the HD2 forum somewhat cluttered.
I'm looking for some input to help make this forum a little easier on the eyes. I need your help in this, but I also need you to be critical about it. I need a list of threads that should not be forgotten and should be easy to find for novice users. The kind of threads I'm looking for are the ones that contain information that won't be outdated any time soon.
Also I would like to have some feedback about the way it's setup now and should be setup. I will be closing this thread again once it's updated.
Sincerely,
12aon
Guys? Is everybody to much habituated to this thread...
Great idea in theory, and yes I agree the forum is messy. I guess the links to note are the obvious ones, but then they are already stickies in any case - these being the mskip Flashing Tutorial, *'s video tutorial, Task29 and HSPL/SSPL. Stock ROM and Radio links are also good. There is some key information needed also like "do not use a x.xx.51.xx radio for the TMOUS 1024 device or you will brick your phone". Wiki's are also great initially, but they seem to die down and don't get maintained well in my experience. Most noob's also seem to miss them.
It seems however that many users here prefer to simply start a new thread rather than search, read and then post IN THE MOST RELEVANT THREAD. No they choose to start a new one even though 5 separate threads asking the same question already exist. This mess exacerbates the whole situation as due to the clutter it's easier to post a new thread.
I must admit though, coming from the HD forum, the Leo users seem to be a lot lazier.
Hi Guys, Could anyone by kind enough to tell me what chef cooks Leo roms including E-reader tab from latest TMOUS together with TV tab ? If such thing does not exist, at least one chef that cooks with e-reader tab... NRG sstopped doing so... sadly...
Cheers. Thanks in advance..

But the wiki really needs updating.
For clarity of the forums, I would suggest a sticky on top with references to "Important threads", but also editing this info into the wiki.
Perhaps I could be of assistence?
PM me with more details if you need my help.

! How to ask (netiquette basics) !
1) SEARCH and think Look in the forum, don't be lazy and READ, most of us like to help people, but why do we have to repeat everything a thousand times. You waste our time. Essential places to look at: Forum on this site PDAPhoneHome FAQ http://pdaphonehome.com/phpBB2/viewforum.php?f=21 Google 2) Define the problem "My XDA doesn't work. Help me" is wrong ;-) always include all available details - error messages, behaviour of the device If you are upgrading ROM include device version (eg. T-Mobile MDA PW10A2, ROM 3.14.03, Radio stack T3.10) - this can be found in Settings>Device Information. 3) Be polite "Gimme a ROM v 3.15.15" this can't be seen in the fora but I keep on receiving such e-mails. Why don't you people say "Please, can you give me a link to the 3.15.15. ROM? Thx blabla." Half the e-mails sound like if I HAD to give you something. I am not employed by HTC nor do I provide technical support as anybody's employee. Sorry to those who ask politely 4) Get a proper name for your thread Don't name your threads like "Help" "XDA" "ROM update" or "Lame question." We want to know what the thread is about BEFORE we read it. That's what subjects are for... and more and more and more... 2Admins: Can I have this thread sticky? Thx
Better Organized Wizard Wiki
I have been working on a new version of the Wizard wiki for most of the day. I think the old one is badly organized and hard to navigate. However, I kept most of the same information. The links at the bottom were on the original wiki also, except they link to forum topics; I think that they are important enough to be turned into their own wiki pages. I don't mind doing this but I want to get some feedback from the community first... Reply and tell me if you think I am wasting my time, if you think I am doing a good job, what should be added/removed, what should be changed, etc. etc. http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Wizard_New (If it becomes good enough I hope to make it the main Wizard wiki page...as I said, I find the current one hard to navigate.)
Hi, as you have propably noticed there's couple discussions going on about the forum and some "experts" leaving it etc.. Good structure is very important for wiki and also for forums. So I think you've done a good job there...especially I like the idea to turn certain stuff to their own pages, links to the forum threads are just too messy.
I just finished transferring "How to determine if you have a G3 or G4 Wizard" and "How to SIM unlock and SuperCID unlock a G3 Wizard" into wiki format. Could (a few) people please proofread and triple-check these for me, I don't want anyone to ruin their device because of a misprint or a confusing sentence.
I would suggest you taking the hermes wiki as template for your structure / organization: http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=HTC_Hermes
Well done Lee1733. I have often thought the wiki was out of date and in need of some tidying up. The search facility on these boards is becoming unusable due to thread hijacking and repated posts. I pity new users who have to wade through pages of threads to find a simple answer. A good tip is to use google to search xda-developers as it does a better job of sorting the wheat from the chaff. Perhaps a link to google this site as well as the default search should be put in the header of each page. The wiki is the best place for FAQs but it is down to all of us to keep it upto date.
I just finished adding/editing the "How to Change the Wizard's Splash Screens" and "How to 'Cook' an Extended Rom" pages. I basically copied this straight from http://www.molski.biz (and gave him credit at the bottom) so they should be correct. The only changes I made were some minor Wiki formatting changes.
[Resources]Raphael goes Wiki
HTC Raphael Wiki Pages The xda-developes wiki system is a (shamefully) under-used resource, lets change that shall we? The information is available to ALL users and naturally being a wiki everyone can contribute to it, details about ROMs and download links etc can be added when they appear and it is easy to use. ALL new members need to take a read through it BEFORE asking questions since if it is a common topic you WILL find it in the wiki. Common useful pages in the wiki include: HTC Raphael for Beginners HTC Raphael Images* Raphael Tips & Tweaks HTC Raphael Specifications Model and CID FAQ Available Shipped WM6.1 ROMs Available Cooked WM6.1 ROMs Available Extracted Radio Stacks Software utilising the sensors in the Raphael HTC Raphael Cooking Resources (CustomRUU, Kitchens etc..) HTC Raphael OEM Packages Rather than have an endless number of sticky threads containing the same information as in the wiki we actively encourage ALL members to use the wiki to its full potential, lets make an example of this forum and show the community in its best light. Dont be scared of adding/editting information, its there for everyone so if something usefull is not in the wiki....add it! Note:: we will be monitoring ALL changes so dont abuse the system. If there is a popular page which you think deserves a quick shortcut to in this sticky thread, PM a moderator to have it added. Enjoy people. * Not yet in the wiki, perhaps somebody should add it?
iphone theme
i want to know where to get the iphone theme from for the sprint htc touch
One easy way - Easy to use program - Very functional is IPhonz - Use the Search for IPhonz and you should find it really easy - When you find SSJ5Trunks (IPhonz Developer) XDA Site - Follow the link to his blog site for links for the cab files for his IPhonz app - Use Google translator found on his blog page though as his blog is in Italian. Rod
Mighty just ignore this person - I have already reported him for these actions - Let the Moderators deal with him. He or she is not worth it Edit : I have noticed that you have started three threads asking for the same thing. This is against the rules. I suggest strongly that you read the forum rules found in the FAQ's and the rules for each forum before starting any more threads. I also suggest reading the WIKI to learn about your device(s). The key to figuring anything out in this forum is "reading" be ready to do lots of it. There is much to learn and much available for many WM Devices in this forum - It takes time to figure out how things are set up and how to search for things, but it does get easier once you have done it for a while.
I found Ifonz too sluggish on my Touch running Onyx, prefer Winterface.

Hello guys i have a question. I think my desire z's battery doesnt go so long. When i look what is using the battery it says display 40%. Why it is using so much? I first thought it might be because of the live wallpaper but although i changed, its still about 40%. Second question, is charging the phone from the computer bad for the phone? Thanks a lot...

Click to expand... Click to collapse Regarding the battery, it's normal for the battery life to start off a bit poor, and improve over time, as the phone "learns" the capacity of the battery. Check out this threads : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844051 Some people have found greatly increased battery life from using the SetCPU app, try searching on that. It's pretty normal for the screen to be a big consumer of the battery, just like it is on a computer laptop. You can try turning the brightness down to make a difference to this. As for charging from the computer, I don't know, but I can't see a reason why it should be a bad thing to do. Sometimes the computer will deliver a slower charge than a mains charger (no idea if this is the case on the DZ or not), and in that case a slower charge is often better for a battery.
I got a few questions about this phone because I'm probably gonna buy it next week. 1: Does the phone have swype? 2: Do rooting methods for the G2 work for the Desire Z ? (and what can i do more?) 3: What is S-OFF ? (and what is radio s-off?) 4: What is this trackpad? (i'm coming from a Nokia N900, so it's a big change) 5: How good are the speakers for music playback? Thanks.
Calendar question I've got a calendar issue that I posted here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=844857 Basically, my calendar fails to load. I did some looking around, and I think the problem is here: 11-22 16:39:25.495 E/ActivityThread( 2253): Failed to find provider info for com.android.calendar 11-22 16:39:29.025 E/ActivityThread( 1724): Failed to find provider info for com.android.calendar I then went into the Backup/Restore section of Titanium backup, and found that 'com.android.providers.calendar' has a line through it, as if it's been uninstalled. I never uninstalled or deleted it, so either the Chinese guys who tweaked the ROM (still basically sense, but with some extra crapware) screwed it up somehow, or one of their crapwares that I uninstalled was linked to it somehow. My question is, is there a way for me to recompile that file, or do I need to get someone to extract it for me? If I need to push the file, where should I push it to? /system/app, or a more specific location? Thanks.

Hello, I'm actually new in this Android and HTC community I don't know what's overclocking or rooting? Like jailbreaking?
SailingToMoon said: Hello, I'm actually new in this Android and HTC community I don't know what's overclocking or rooting? Like jailbreaking? Click to expand... Click to collapse Welcome Rooting your phone is kind of like jailbreaking, because it gives you access to the administrator's account on the phone (the "root" user), so gives you the ability to do more things that you'd be otherwise locked out of. Overclocking your phone is running the CPU at a higher speed than normal - so it makes it faster, quite simply.
What is the difference between hboot S-OFF and radio S-OFF? What phones have radio S-OFF?
I again have a question which shows I am a beginner When I open wifi hotspot will i be charged in any way ? For example when I connect to internet with wifi ? Sent from my HTC Desire Z
[Q] I have some folders on the desktop, in which I added some app shortcuts. The last added shortcut is last in the list, it's not even ordered alphabetically. I want to change the order of the shortcuts without deleting the folder, re-creating and adding all shortcuts again. Is it possible? Using standard folders from Sense.

For example, with my carrier, Vodafone UK, any usage of the Internet (whether that's wi-fi from another computer connected via my phone, or direct from my phone) is going to count towards my monthly usage limit.

SailingToMoon said: Hello, I'm actually new in this Android and HTC community I don't know what's overclocking or rooting? Like jailbreaking? Click to expand... Click to collapse I come from a Windows Mobile background, so other more experienced Android users can correct me if I'm wrong...but rooting is pretty similar to jailbreaking the iPhone - it opens up the device beyond the lockdown of the manufacturer and the carrier, letting you basically have total control over what happens in your phone (eg: Superuser control). UNLIKE jailbreaking the iPhone however, you can 'flash' other ROMs onto your device. Don't like HTC Sense? Flash a stock Android ROM. Don't like the performance? Flash a Cyanogen Mod (CM) ROM onto your device. Want HTC Sense? Flash a custom Sense-enabled ROM. This is possible due to the massive dev group and also the flexibility of the Android platform - iOS is designed by Apple to be used on only Apple devices, and is also designed to be locked down. Android is designed to be tinkered and customized. Getting 'root' on your device allows you also to 'overclock' your phone - for example, the HTC Desire Z/G-2/Vision comes with it's CPU clocked in at 800MHz (or there abouts), by overclocking your device, you can tweak the CPU to run at 1Ghz, 1.4GHz or even up to 1.9GHz! So you can effectively more than double your CPU speed! This means that you can play games more smoothly, boot up faster, run apps more quickly, etc. Be WARNED however, that incorrectly rooting and/or overclocking your phone may result in a 'bricked' device - this means that your device no longer switches on or cannot load any software/OS, resulting in your phone transforming into a very expensive paperweight or brick. If you follow the instructions correctly though, then there is no worries and you will have gained access to a whole new world. Good luck! A question of my own now - is it possible to 'exchange' the HTC Pre-cached maps? Or even flash one onto the phone? I live in Australia, but bought a euro device, meaning that I have a bunch of precached maps for countries that I will not be able to visit (for now because I am a poor student =P). Is this part of the ROM? And if so, can I somehow get the maps from the Australian Desire HD ROM (no Australian Desire Z as far as I know)?
