I had the same issue. HTC says they can repair it for about $170.00 but I would be out of a phone for about a week and a half. I'm researching... I'll keep ou posted if I find anything else.

Thanks a lot!
Also i saw on ebay some wizard screens, about £20, i didn't look into them too much but could be an option if you were feeling brave enough to give it a go
EDIT
Ok, that was just the touch panel bit, the full screen+panel was a bit more, but still cheaper than $170

Please confirm this :
when the little orange light on the upper right side of the screen doesn't light up anymore when the phone is plugged into the outlet, and the power button doesn't do anything including pushing vol down+ power and or pwr+trackball this means my phone is BRICKED i assume ?
I did a nandrroid backup, full wipe , flash from zip, restart , got a android out of the box , tried to flash again without wipe.. and thats it . i knew it right away when the phone wouldn't boot to recovery this is the end of my nexus one ????
i was trying to flash to the FRF50 going from cm5 i had an older recover RA 1.6.0
I have come to accept that i bricked my phone and now have to pay tmobile cancellation fee's and Google early termination fee

which froyo rom did u try to flash? one with or without the radio included?
from sounds of it, prob the radio one since u saw the android out of box. Did you turn your device off while the android out of box was showing or did u allow for it to reboot it self?

why not just get HTC to fix it and pay their charges (~$150)
send it to HTC and see what they can do about it...
Take the battery out and leave it out for a minute. Hold down power for about 15 seconds and keep holding it while putting the battery in. Keep right on holding it for about 15 more seconds. The android out of the box was the radio flashing, it can take a few minutes and if you interupted that your in trouble. It would be cheaper to send it in to get it fixed and remember the lesson learned for next time.
If you interrupted it when the android arrow image was being displayed, you might have bricked. Always wait at least 5 minutes before interrupting during a flash.
Oh, and I'll probably take your car dock if you're selling it. Hope you can fix the phone though. It would probably be much cheaper to pay HTC to replace the mother board on it than to pay all those fees..
If your gonna pay those etf fees, why not just buty another phone to use on the t-mobile network?

If it's really bricked, this is the most sound advice.

Means you interrupt the radio flash, Android out of the box in the middle is the time where they are flashing the radio.
Any intteruption when flashing the radio means bricking the phone.
** I did interrupt it last time when I 1st flash the ROM with radio due to my impatient. The phone is brick and no way to get it back. The only way is send back to HTC for repairment (I assuming is replacement as I get back different unit where the IMEI code is totally different), if you are lucky enough you may get a free replacement. (I get mine but that is an old story, that time it seems I am the 1st bricking it)

im pretty sure its the one with the radio the one Paul had first posted, i think its the radio as well because after the install when i went to reboot if im not mistaken it said writing radio then it rebooted and i saw the android out of the box after that i was still able to get to the recovery and i tried to flash again the same rom. and after that it died i couldn't go to the fastboot / recovery when phone is plugged into the charger led doesn't go on with or without the battery i swapped batteries let the phone sit for a few hours nothing.
maybe wait for the OTA to release and just say you goofed on the installation?
tmobile is so bad in new york it sucks data is horrible honestly i just wanna leave tmoible and go with spring evo 4g i figure i can sell on ebay my bricked phone maybe someone can use it for parts and the rest of my accessory's to make up the difference somewhat eta is like 150 for tmoible and google charges i think another 125 i just dont want to pay again honestly for another nexus one (i loved the phone) only to stay with ****ty tmoible service .. i guess its worth it to send to htc and see what they say

Can we had one more phone to the "phone bricked by people messing around with ROMs when they don't even now what the f... they are doing" please?
heheheh
I'm with Arcana...if you've been doing it "without a problem," then what happened here?
rule #1 when flashing a radio...DON'T LOSE POWER!
no one deserves to lose a $500+ investment...but come on, man. if you don't fulling understand what you're doing, don't do it.
and surely you didn't think you'd be able to come here and post about your mishap and not have someone criticize you for it?
nexous one
i flashed froyo with RA 1.6
and it worked perfect you just have to wait in tell if finished

Worst case, HTC will charge you about $200.00 USD to replace your system board. You will get back stock phone.

yeahhh what can i say **** happens what i should have done is flashed the phone with the power cable plugged in and not in the middle of the night on the couch, i should have been concentrating on her lol instead of being an uber geek and flashing my phone... im not gonna make her pay for it shes got no money anyway ! but she is a way cool rocker chick who's in a band.. maybe ill see if she can repay me in a different way.. she doenst even realize what she did
I don't believe you..but good luck. Get it fixed, then sell it. It'll be cheaper than trying to sell a phone that no one well want to buy.
Basically my power button is gone (Flex and button) and the digitizer doesn't register any touches (However is brand new and shouldn't need replaced), which I believe is due to my messing around in the internals.
Does anyone know how much HTC would charge at the maximum? I don't want to pay to get it shipped off and returned if i'm going to be given a >£200 figure. My alternative is to spend around the same amount on a 'budget' phone but I love my Nexus and simply want it back in it's glory!
Oh and this is in the UK. Thanks!

What do you mean with "messing around in the internals."
Is it gone or just dont respond?
I just read in a Swedish forum that 4-5 people had the same problem, all of them sent it in and got it fixed, no charge. But some of them had the same problem again a month later and had to send it back again. One guy got a new the third time. Rooted or not.
Hello, Im stumped I just bought a brand new phone from ebay sealed in the box its a tmobile htc hd2. upon opening it from the box and turning it on the phone would get stuck at the stick together screen. never did fully boot once. then after about 10 min of waiting i pulled the battery and put it back in. Then the phone would only light up the keys and nothing else. once again took the battery out and put it back in. Now NOTHING, wont respond to any type of reset and wont do nothing. wont charge wont connect to pc did I just get a dud RIGHT out of the box? i did nothing to make this happen i didnt even get to the main screen urgh $450 later one month in shipping to receive what looks like a dud. Checked battery voltage its at 3.75 volts fully charged. wtf?
bump bump bump
That's not impossible.
Try to hardreset it, hold down both volume buttons and power on.
If it doesn't work, do you have the phone's warranty? Get it to HTC and they'll fix it / give you another one.
If not... try checking the eBay warranty that gives you the money back, don't know exactly how it works but i know there's something like this.
If all this doesn't help... then i'm sorry.
Not sure if you're in the United States, but at a T-Mobile store, a brand new HD2 will go for ~$450, and come with a one year warranty.
Hope all works out well.
Hey guys. No I live in Calgary Canada and I ordered this phone to work with our WIND mobile service provider. I tried everything... it wouldnt respond at all... funny though even though it didnt show any signs of life it was charging the batter PAST its rated 3.7 volts. At one point I read 4.2 volts at the battery while out of the phone which is strange to start with. Thinking it was the battery I hard wired the phone to a spliced USB cord to see if it would power up and still it did nothing. I then said this is ridiculous and called tmobile and htc. all I have to say is WOW. Tmobile is serious about customer service even for me not being a client of thiers. Same goes for HTC. both offered to repair or replace the phone as it was brand new and they could see from imei.t-mobile even offered to refund my money which i didnt even pay to them in the first place. Wish we had customer service like that up here in calgary where the city is run on oil money and oil hungry people.. not cool. Anyways I talked to my seller off ebay because I didnt want to wait and he agreed to send me a new one overnight express with fedex and i will get it saturday. I sent this one back already forget trying to fix a problem matic phone. Oh yeah this next one was tested before shipment BUT I did read there is alot of people with this problem and no one has an answer still...............
thanks anyway guys
The battery's supposed to go to 4.26V. And it's good that you're getting another.
Ever go to flash a modem via odin because your too lazy to put it on your SD Card and flash that way and it TOTALLY SCREWS YOU.. Freezes and then on reboot give you the Phone ! Computer screen... Pissed..
Completely pissed off cause now i have to flipping odin to stock and the backups on my computer are from FEBRUARY!! that might as well be ten years ago..
Im gunna go smoke if some one knows a way to not have to go to stock to fix this lemme know..
Edit: maybe it was something else that caused the issue because now it wont even power on..
Edit 2: Just told em that Samsung kies did it and they are next day airing me a new Vibrant.. lol
u got a new phone because u didnt want to odin t0 2.1?

This is exactly why the subsidized price point for new Smartphones jumped from 199 to 299 within just 1 yr.
You are adult enough to know that messing with your phone can brick it, you should be adult enough to take financial responsibility instead of abusing the warranty.
Actions like this lead to stricter warranty policies, horrible return/exchange policies, and like I already mentioned...increased price points.

Thank you.
And FYI for those who don't know.. even if they find it "out of warranty" the replacement cost is only 90 bucks.. But who am i to deny a free replacement..
Because of so many phones being sent in bricked, not having the problems they stated, or just trying to push the exchanges to get a multiple/alternate exchange, T-mobile has changed the warranty exchange policy to include a $20 processing fee plus shipping with those that don't have an extended warranty/insurance. Those that kept insurance are fine with only paying $5 and it gets shipped express.
Wish I had a damn warranty.. My first vibrant I got off Craigslist it looked fine and all when I first checked it out in person. But when I got home and tried to charge it the damn usb port was dead. Gave up on trying to replace usb port, so found another on Craigslist with a broken screen for cheap, just swapped boards and now all is well. I probably could have saved money just upgrading my contract for one, but really wanted to wait for newer devices this year.
