Poor Performance of touch HD ?

hello i recently bought Touch Hd device and upgarded and changed almost 15+ WM6.1 and 6.5 roms. but none of them is good since the performance is too weak even my HTC Prophet device with wm6.5 and only 195MHZ CPU perform faster and smooter . I have also installed Neo Graphic Drivers 3 on my HD but no lock. performance of this 528MHZ device is really low and poor any one have suggestion?

I'm very very skeptical for that...
But of course, do you run TF3D on your prophet ? I would like to see it faster than on the touch HD. Can you please make a video ? I'd rather doubt it... of course if you compare the today screen on the prophet over the touch HD TF3D... it is possible, but TF3D adds services and possiblities too..
Honestly, i went from artemis... to diamond... and the touch HD, and the HD is the best of all ! Beetween the diamond and the artemis, i was less impressed .. but the diamond battery drain was awful ! But for rapidity the HD is great !
Have you tried to tweak a little your HD ?

I've been playing with a few 6.5 roms recently. Moved back to 6.1 and decided to reinstall from scratch.... never has the device been so smooth.
Waiting for a complete rom before upgrading again.... would love tflo2.5 on the standard rom.

i have the same idea as u .... i´m starting to be very disappointed with my touch HD,
with these rom's is better, but graphically it is very soft spot.... and the gps very laggy .....
for a phone that cost almost € 600, is weak ...

You have to know that WM6.5 isn´t released yet and AFAIK i won´t be released oficially for Touch HD, so we cannot expect that it runs like on WM6.1.
Even with all tweaks the cookers try to implement into the Roms it will be difficult (or let´s say impossible) to release a "Perfect" Rom until the final Build is released. Almost every week a new Build is released.
So i think we all should wait until a final release of WM6.5 comes out and then we can see what cookers can do with it.
No one is obligated to use a WM6.5 Rom.

I recently upgraded from Touch Diamond to Touch HD. And I am impressed... the fluidity of TF3D 2.1, programs opening and closing etc really blew me away. There was no way my TD could match the HD.
Are you loading too many programs into your system memory? For me, ALL programs are loaded into Storage Card, and I only use 33% of memory (according to Task Manager)... maybe this would make a difference?

It is increasingly frustrating.
Can't wait to get a Leo with a decent processor.

I had similar thoughts and almost sold my HD until I tried Panosha's rom. I tried many roms and this one to me is the most stable and relatively quick. I also have a Touch Diamond 2 and that device blows away any other in terms of speed and responsiveness. But I love the HD too and this Rom saved it from going up for sale. Maybe worth a try if you haven't yet.

well i would like to share my 30+ days achivments on trying almost all HD roms.
as I like to have WM 6.1 sine it is fast and actually there is no diffremce between 6.1 and slow 6.5 roms I selected wm 6.1 roms. since I like to have Manila 2.6 I go for Miri's Rom! it is really perfect . a cool combination of WM6.1 and manila 2.6 brings speed and eye candy rom.
the initial spped is REALLY NOT reach the OLD beloved Prophet how ever doing dome tweeks made the rom fast enugh not to bother me!
here what i have done :

3-installed Neo Driver Pack 3
4-Disabled the Weather animation which really slow down the device

now i have a Daily Useable device which is fast and candy!
how ever stiil The OLD prophet respond faster even the graphic is a bit poor!
IMHO TF3D is really a USELESS application and I am looking to find a way to install manila 2D on WM6.1 on touch HD! that would be a dream ROM. since all of the problems source is TF3D! TF3D is not for our devices mybe Leo with 1 GHZ can handel it...

Sense or touchflo

I have a htc diamond 2 with sense on it coming from the htc pro with touchflo. I was wondering if this phone has sense as i just bought it on ebay.

as far as I know, it's solely TouchFlo. Would be nice if Sense made it's way to Advantage ROMs, but development isn't as frequent these days with our phones.

HTC Sense uses opengl and it cannot run smoothly without a hardware accelerated opengl driver for the device.
As far as there is no hw opengl driver for Athena devices you won't see any ROM with Sense on Athena.

My ROM is with Rhodium Sense!!! look at signature!!
it's actually fast...but not as fast as Sense 2.1

agreed mine is also based on 2.07 rhodium(and a few from 2.08)
and i dont believe its as fast as sense 2.1:-o
although its fast enough for daily use

it´s equal to sense 2.1 ...Rhodium SENSE 2.5 is FASTER as hell excelent for my Blackstone ....
SENSE 2.5 from rhodium is 3x faster then leo version ...
first don´t install any tweak Maxtheme is a bad ideia make it slower ...
With a stock rom sense 2.5 from rhodium is very very fast in HTC HD
but only if you use a stock Rom changes in the rom make it slower
to improve speed in HD use SENCE 2.5 Rhodium version
disable weather animation
disable HTC Messenger ...
don´t use Max theme is very Slow or other themes

Yes i think like you im Using from a Long time ROMs with Rhodium Manila 2.1 Sense or some 2.1 Sense from Topaz and nobody can tell me that the 2.5 can be faster than the 2.1 1st because the 2.5 is bigger and heavy than the 2.1 if someone say OK but this 2.5 Sense is Compressed then i can say OK thats fine but my manila 2.1 is Compressed too and you cant imagine how fast it is.

the last time i tried cfc compressed tool i didnt notice any speedimprovement:-o
but it could be i did something wrong

If Any Cheef Cook a WM 6.1 ROM with Touch FLO 3D and to Compress the whole Touch FLO + to compress all the Images files in the ROM etc... there we can have the Fastes OS avalible for our Blackstones.

if you disabling everything like wallpaper and full screen weather animation, unmodded rhodium sense 2.5 could be as fast as sense 2.1 with everything enabled. but i won't say they are equally fast

its true sense 2.5 from rhoduim is almost fast as sense 2.1 manila ...
and its about 3x faster then leo version ....
for HD is better sense 2.5 rhodium much faster and stable

Since the speed in WM6.1 is far better than WM6.5 or WM6.5.x, Would it possible to have a WM6.1 + HTC Sense 2.5 instead?

Especially when I installed Cookie's Home tab with WM6.1 + Sense 2.5, my diamond was super smooth. First time I felt my old Diamond was better than my HD.

miri did one way back, it was the fastest 2.5 todate still, i would like to see one to manilla 2.5 2012 and 6.1 would be awesome mix, speed stability and sense 2.5.

Would also love this, the speed of something like SL's Cleanrom, and the looks of Cloudys 6.5 roms, beauty and speed rolled into one.
Its really what im after, the best combination of fewest bugs, snappiest with 6.1 resource levels (for multitasking) with a dark black clean look and animated beauty of sense.

Are people's perception of fast or slow ROMs reflective of the difference between running 6.1 vs 6.5 or is it simply that most 6.5 also have Sense 2.5 which makes the ROM slower?
I guess I can't tell the difference between a stripped down 6.1 or stripped down 6.5 as far as performance goes. But a stripped down ROM seems faster than either ROM running Sense 2.5.
I'm not talking about benchmark scores of a few points higher or lower, but in actual use of the device.
Reading about the differences between 6.1 and 6.5 suggest that the operating system is identical besides a few visual changes for the most part. And of course the visual changes are very minor and wouldn't cause slowdowns anyhow. So I don't know why 6.1 would be any faster than 6.5 or vice versa, assuming you're using the same UI.

The only one i can find that is a cooked 6.1 + Manila 2.5 is:
Miri WM 6.1 21054 - MANILA 2.5 :: V 3.0 [DISCONTINUED]
Considering all other threads related to this topic talk about how there will be lots of bugs, I think miri's V3 is going to be the least buggy since its probably one of the if not the only WWE 6.1 + Manila 2.5 you'll ever see.
(or at least until 6.5 is finished and a cook decides to try 6.1 + the newest HTC stuff again.)
So before this topic gets closed, I just want to share this, because I feel 6.5 is no good for resources at all, I haven't had a 6.5 rom yet which I can use the HTC music player and do anything else at the same time due to lack of resources.

After taking the plunge, All seems very good! This rom is light enough to allow you to multitask unlike 6.5 roms.
So far Ive tried a few things out and will list them as I go
HD Tweak: Fine
BGForAll w/Mortscript: Doesn't work (Sets all backgrounds black and is irreversable AFAIK)
StartMenuGrid4: Doesn't work (No bad side effects found)
Neo's DriverPack Signed 2010: Works!! Its like going from a 256 colour Windows desktop to a 32bit one, If you try the above rom this Cab is Highly recommended to fix up bad colours and speed it up further [linky]
Dusk Evolution 2.5 v4.0: Works!! (Changes boot loader to say WM6.5, Sense wallpaper doesn't work after applying)

well but sine 6.5 still is buggy on the HD trying to make it happened for 6.1 is not an issue miris rom is the best sense 2.5 rom out there, the fastest most responsive.
Bugs are there to resolve before miri did this rom numerous ppl said it was impossible, miri proved it was not for a skilled chef that knows his way around the kitchen.
I think we need a chef that stands out from the rest

Its certainly very fast compared to other roms!! and because its Sense 2.5 its elegant too.

probably this is just for the real experts not many chefs ould pull this off, miri could, but he has moved on

I'm still not satisfied with the peformance actually.
Maybe Sense 2.5 is part of the problem.
The Touch HD is a fairly powerful mobile, it should be capable of performing several tasks without freezing up.
Im going to keep using 6.1, An XDA forum member did bechmarks of all the 6.1 roms that were around at the time they did the benches. Any of the top several roms should peform really nice:

yeah, it was 7 posts up.
its quite a good rom, its a bit buggy I could point out a bunch, most of them are tolerable considering the speed of the rom compared to 6.5 roms.

As the Rom is discontinued,can someone post a mirror please because Rapidshare sucks very bad to me....

WM 6.5 New Builds Speed Change?

Just a quick one, its been a few months since i reflashed my Touch HD and i was wondering since the Dutty/ Miri days the WM 6.5 was useable but still slow when you open a few apps etc. From the top of my head i think the standard was 70% used resources compared to around 35% on WM 6.1
I noticed a fair few roms popping up with 6.5 which mention speed etc, has there been any or huge improvement of 6.5.x on the HD or is it still using masses amount of resources?

Well i tried several com2 releases and previous version and the WM 6.5 still seems to be unusable on the touch HD. It hogs too many resources making it ok i guess for day to day with a reboot but if you want to keep the phone running longer it grinds down to a halt much faster than 6.1.

Guys, if you mainly want 6.5 for Sense 2.5 prettyness, the new Frankenstein WM6.1+Sense 2.5 releases are very bug free, particularly compared to the only old one (which was only proof of concept ((ty miri xoxo)))
Ive thoroughly tried the proof of concept when it was the only one available (about a month ago) and have used Cloudys for quite a few weeks now, if you want 36-40 percent ram free and use sense 2.5 the way it should run, seriously task29 ur hd and give one of the two a go
The other one is Blacknew by Kenia.
6.1 is suited for the HD's specs, all 6.5 is too demanding for it, I don't think you'll ever find a 6.5 with sense 2.5 as speedy and awesome as the Frankenstein builds.

I was getting a bit fed up with the speed of the UI.
Someone in my thread suggested I try getting rid of Sense 2.5 which should speed things up, which is probably the first thing Im going to try.
