because i didn't found a version of htchome with weather working through gprs/3g data or wap connection...
here is a "proxified" version with 2 other options that should make it work
for now, these options are customisable only via the registry:
[HKLM\SOFTWARE\HTC\HTCHome\Weather\Settings]
"ProxyType"
0 = auto proxy config (system config*)
1 = direct to net (without proxy, default)
3 = via named proxy
"Proxy"
named proxy, IPORT (only used if "ProxyType"=3)
"User-Agent"
user-agent of the request
(the default user-agent is sent if leaved blank)
"Url"
url of the weather server (must begin with "http:" and without parameters. the parameters will be appent to it after a '?')
(the default url is used if leaved blank)
*i noticed that the autoproxy option forces the program to take pie proxy config, so pie should be at least launched once.
English version 1.5 :

I do have a question though. This new HTCHome is shown with standard options. If I change options these are reflected in the registry, but not on the screen. It looks like I change options for my original HTCHome but the one that is shown is the new HTCHome. Is there anywhere where I can change options for the newly installed HTCHome?

i don't know if you can patch yourself you already installed version because of the different signatures
i took this "standard" version because it's the first i found..
but just tell me where i can find the best or the latest version to patch it
i know the "HTCHome.dll" is different on each version so i can't give you a specific upgrade

After installing the WM5SEr5 ROm on Wizard (AKU3.3) Weather now updates via GPRS as well. With the standard (or N2A patched) HTCHome.
Didnt work on previous WM5SEr4 (AKU2.3)
I confirm it's working great via GPRS/3G.
One thing that changed is that now on the Today screen there's always a clock, which I don't really need. I've been using a battery indicator with percentage, and now it has disappeared.
Maybe using the latest version will fix this.

Thanks idsk for the patched files. Nice work! I have it working with a cooked home plugin using his patched htchome.dll and idskpxy.dll files form v2.1 with the metioned aboved registry settings with the At&t Tilt (Kaiser). idsk if you don't mind, I can post this cab for others. Again thanks, I now have it working with T-zones 5.99 proxy.

I re-made a cab with just the htchome.dll and idskpxy.dll and the proxy registries.
I have attached the cab so you can download here.

Do I have to install this when using the HTChome posted by idsk, or it works on all other HTChome versions??

It should work on HTC Home v2.1. The rom i'm using has v2.1 on it.

for the proxycap i don't know if it's taken when it's in autoproxy mode, just try to set the path to the pac file in the "ProxyServer" in "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings"
(the path must be in a valid protocol so it must begin with "http://" if on the net or "file://" if in local). i don't know if it works but it's just to try

if you got a htchome preinstalled in a previous version, don't forget to backup your HTCHome.dll before installing this upgrade, just in case if it's not compatible, but normally it should work because only that file is the plugin so..

Ok, I tried the patch from phouki on the original HTChome, and it works just fine!! So no need to replace the whole plugin.
@idsk - I think you should post this (both cabs) in the Development and Hacking section in the main forum. I'm sure many people will love it.

idsk is working on a proxy enabled version of Fring, which also includes MSN messenger
New call log tab which support mentioned rom + tested and proven on 2.03.421.1 base rom . (Fabliv call history tab may cause some menu malfunction)

If this is from an O2 rom than not from the german one or at least from a Toch HD rom. I have a german O2 XDA Diamond and in the official rom there is no call log tab.

Thanks. This solved my problem on call history.
The comm tab also works on 2.00.421.1 but because comm tab and tab setting in Settings shared the same 1f3be060_manila file therefore I could get either comm tab or tab setting function working. I do not know how to edit the 1f3be060_manila file. Does anyone know how to do this. having both enable would be a cool thing to do.

Yer, tested and worked on Dutty v4 based on 2.03
the cab works just perfext with the 2.03 aztor x, so thx alot

Use "WinCE CAB Manager" and place the browser the place u want it
Does anybody developing Roms have an extracted copy of Worldcard for the Rhodium? My current Rom doesn't have it and my old Worldcard app doesnt work on the Rhodium. I hate to have to do a Rom update and reload software just for this app. Any help would be appreciated.

After installation, when I try to open this program through the shortcut, all it does is show the wait curser/wheel for few seconds. Thats it.
Can somebody confirm if this Cab is working or not. If anybody else is using a working version extracted from another ROM, can you please upload it. Thanks....

are you using Stock ROMs or cooked ones?
the problem is most probably the ROM ur using (with manilla 2.1) has a problem with mms. simple
Try disabling Sense and send your sms with the native WM application.
Let us know if you have any luck!
