because i didn't found a version of htchome with weather working through gprs/3g data or wap connection...
here is a "proxified" version with 2 other options that should make it work
for now, these options are customisable only via the registry:

0 = auto proxy config (system config*)
1 = direct to net (without proxy, default)
3 = via named proxy
"Proxy"
named proxy, IPORT (only used if "ProxyType"=3)

url of the weather server (must begin with "http:" and without parameters. the parameters will be appent to it after a '?')

*i noticed that the autoproxy option forces the program to take pie proxy config, so pie should be at least launched once.

After installing the WM5SEr5 ROm on Wizard (AKU3.3) Weather now updates via GPRS as well. With the standard (or N2A patched) HTCHome.
Didnt work on previous WM5SEr4 (AKU2.3)
I confirm it's working great via GPRS/3G.
One thing that changed is that now on the Today screen there's always a clock, which I don't really need. I've been using a battery indicator with percentage, and now it has disappeared.
Maybe using the latest version will fix this.

I have it working with a cooked home plugin using his patched htchome.dll and idskpxy.dll files form v2.1 with the metioned aboved registry settings with the At&t Tilt (Kaiser). idsk if you don't mind, I can post this cab for others. Again thanks, I now have it working with T-zones 5.99 proxy.

It should work on HTC Home v2.1. The rom i'm using has v2.1 on it.

for the proxycap i don't know if it's taken when it's in autoproxy mode, just try to set the path to the pac file in the "ProxyServer" in "HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings"
(the path must be in a valid protocol so it must begin with "http://" if on the net or "file://" if in local). i don't know if it works but it's just to try

if you got a htchome preinstalled in a previous version, don't forget to backup your HTCHome.dll before installing this upgrade, just in case if it's not compatible, but normally it should work because only that file is the plugin so..

Ok, I tried the patch from phouki on the original HTChome, and it works just fine!! So no need to replace the whole plugin.

With WMSE Theme he mean that Space Theme is supporting Second Edition Landscape screen.

Not sure if it's related but I use NVD322 for screen rotation and WM2003SE themes and yes there is that delay and yes sometimes it is deadly.

thanks bongo user, I think you programmed a great tool. helped a lot to me even though I can't check whether hsdpa is really working because there is no specific sign (h instead of u for example) on the hermes to see whether I am in hsdpa or in normal umts.

I unpacked the file, amd it is just a bunch of cab files... Unfortunately, I am not sure as to how to proceed from there in order to get the program to work on my Tytn...

Copy this cab file to your device.
run this cab file like an "EXE File.
Then it installed my App.

That's a nice tool.
However, I chose to remove the communications manager from the system tray, but now the battery icon is gone too, even though I have not checked that box. And I actually like the battery indicator.
Checking and unchecking the battery indicator checkbox yields no results. Do you have any suggestions?

Double Click in File Explorer will install it.
don't unpack it with winzip....

All i had to do was to copy the file over to my documents folder in the pocket pc WITHOUT unzipping it.
I then clicked on the file in the pocketpc and it installed...
I think my problem was that i was looking for an exe file somewhere to click on to install the program..
It works great though!
I do have a question about the sound quality adjustment for the bluetooth headphones...
what is the default setting from the factory for this on the Tytn?? I am just trying to compare the different levels to the standard so that i can decide which I like best.

i test all tweaks before i include it in my application.
I read on the below mentioned page that adding new cities to TF3D was really easy, and they were right,
the only problem is that i don't want to install something that I'm only going to use once

So I created my own version, which does the same as the WeatherDatabaseEditor from andreas.falke
with the exception that it requires minimal user intervention so it can be used in SDConfig.txt or similar solutions.
Also if your country is not listed it will make a new entry in the country list.
It has been tested on my MDA Compact4 (Diamond + Dutty's V1.7 Rom)
And it works like a charm, let me know what you think
I'm not sure if it will work on any other device, but because the Diamond is the first of many TF3D devices
the generic "Development & Hacking" forum seemed to be a better choice,
MODs please move this topic if you think it should be in the Diamond App's section.
Currently you'll get a popup when the app is completed, I might change this in future version(s)
Don't forget to edit locations.txt prior to running the app!
Requirements:
- CF.Net, I tested this with 3.5 not sure if it works with 2.0
How To:
1. Save/Unzip (I advise in the internal Storage) just put the files in a folder.
2. Edit locations.txt, there are already a couple locations in there, Region is optional and first line can be ignored.
3. run CmdWC3.exe
4. To be save do a softreset
To Do :
1. Remove the currently selected Cities (or atleast an option to remove them)
2. Make popup optional
3. new version which has an interface, silent operation would be done by arguments "\Storage card\CmdWC3.exe Silent"

I recently changed to the udK Syrius HD Rom, but CmdWC3 didn't work, so
made a new version.
My advise, First run Version 3, if this doesn't work run version 5
Restart* and you should be able to select the proper city.
At least that was what I did with the Syrius Rom.
*I just tried with restarting TF3D only and that also seems to do the trick.
Please let me know if it worked (or not) and which Rom you are using.

The internal Storage naming sholdn't be an issue, I think it has to do with Bepe's rom, the orriginal idea (and application) has the same issue

which one are you using premium, basic or lite?
I know TLR has tweaked TF3D to be uninstallable (whatever that may mean)
so there are some diffrences..
Could you check if you have the 2330fc3c_manila and _2330fc3c_manila (in \Windows folder)?
could be that they are hidden...

Small update, I've checked bepe 0.97
it seems that he's using a slightly different version of 2330fc3c_manila
which doesn't have the Countries listed, also
the application cannot change the properties of the file to be able to write to it...
Checking if the Countries are mentioned is not the problem, fixed that already
it is setting the file overwritable thats the issue..
I'm sorry but i don't see a solution besides manually copy pasting a already fixed 2330fc3c_manila & _2330fc3c_manila to the windoes folder...

I can post it but it could very well be my user error. I know that when listing cities in the U.S. the go in a little diffrently on all of the Accuweather programs. How is your command line program set up to recieve the US cities and I will try that first.

The setup is like
<Country>,<Region>,<City,<AccuweatherCode>
Code:
Netherlands,noord-holland,laren,EUR|NL|NL008|LAREN
Germany,Nordrhein-Westfalen,Ahaus,EUR|DE|GM011|AHAUS
Not sure how/where you would get the data, maybe this helps:

<Country> will be added to the country list (if not exist)
<Region> & <City> will be added in the country
You could name the country aaaaa so it will be the first one that pops up...

SQL problem...
I'm trying to add:
Canada,Newfoundland,St. John's,NAM|CA|NL|SAINT JOHN'S
It is complaining about the ' character. I believe your SQL statement is getting confused by the ' in "St. John's" and "SAINT JOHN'S". You need to make sure when you read from the text file you encapsulate the string with quotes like "<string>" before you try to insert into the DB...

OBEXInboxEx is an application that works like a substitute to standard WM Bluetooth OBEX protocol - receiving files via Bluetooth, in fact. The app allows you to set the path for received files, also shows a popup window that informs you about the current file transfer. More info here.
I've simply edited the (latest) OBEXInboxEX icons to make them fit better into Touch Diamond/Pro/HD environment.
Changes (in comparison with the original):
- added 64x64x256 app settings icon (original was 32x32x256)
- added 32x32x16 status bar icon (original was 16x16x16)
EDIT Feb, 20th 2009: Fixed the status bar icon bug in the latest 0.948 version.

The thing is that I don't know, from where I've downloaded the app. IMHO it should be the latest version. Anyway - if you provide me with newer version, there's no problem to edit it this way as well.

i have a problem with quickgps.
It doesnt update. When i try to update it says
DATA ACTIVATION FAILED
Location settings must be on so that downloading satelites can be used to speed up GPS startup time
I have tried several packages but none of them worked.
i have searched a lot but nothing helps
Everything else is working fine only this little isseu is driving me mad

well i use Os kitchen and EVK
i use the com2 branch (21898) same thing in com5

I have tried it with different manila packs like from rhodium an hd2 2.07 2.10
last but not least i have used as base the latest oem drivers from HD (1)

I actually just had the issue-it was because I was testing out removing things from the startup queue to get faster reboots, and I removed bootlauncher, mainly to kill startkey.exe and sipgt_app, because I use FNKBD. Anyway, I overlooked the fact that bootlauncher also kick-starts some services (some totally effing useless, like usb2pcpopup). Among the services is gpsaux.dll-make sure it's loaded. If it isn't, the download doesn't work.
Sorry mate but that's what I'm asking, 'which base are you using OEM/EXT'.
Maybe a packages list would be wise if you made a hybrid rom I'm just quesing

Looking at your buildlog I would try to downgrade the commmanager as well to a Blackstone compatible one.

Since i have had the same problem with Kaiser and Mega EXT packages,never had QuickGps working, how can be the communication manager involved in this such a problem?

Hi,
Because it has several components for Internet and bandswitching and Quickgps can only do a upgrade if your Internet connection is working 100%.
If you check the dlls/exe in commmanager it has a lot of dependencies.
ril.dll
dnsapi.dll
iphlapi.dll
to name a view.
Not that I'm such a expert but these dlls could affect Quickgps if you ask me.

Yes of course, but the error gotten is "Enable to retrieve data , location service must be on"....i switched to the old QuickGps and it works.....i guess ill go to check some dependency.

Mostly QuickGps.exe dependency are into Shared_Modules but i cant find a dll into the dump folder IESHIMS.DLL, using depends Walker though.
I know most people like to use the latest packages but sometimes it's good to dowgrade certain components so they suite better to your oemdrivers.
A componont like commmanager is trivial in this case.

Yes you are right, indeed i gave up with new QuickGps but honestly i feel good if i can find a solution to let it work .

Man it's just wild quesing as I don't know your kitchen LoL.
Maybe you need to downgrade Quickgps and the depended packages as well.
Best advise I can give is to keep everything from the same source close to your device specs and upgrade packages one by one and see yourself if everything functions.
Sorry old boring story but that's how I work testing many times.
