WM6.5 Clock - Wing, P4350 General

Hey there all you themers and skinners out there,
Is there a way to change just the clock panel in a WM6.5 theme without having to create a whole new theme? Like, can I just replace some files, and maybe deselect/select the theme again, and the clock will change? I'm looking for just some big bold numbers without that obnoxious analog icon that doesn't change. Or, if there's an analog clock panel that DOES change, that would work too.
I liked the clock look in Ivan's JustHome, but I just recently (today) switched to StripTease: Lots to Love, which has the classic black theme. I like everything in that theme (and the ROM) except that analog clock.
Any tips?
Thanks.

Just use M2DC. Go to the "Home xml" tab and deselect analog clock and make sure digital clock is selected.

Is M2DC a resource hog? I'm already under 20MB at startup with the other crap I installed on this ROM.

Not really, it just changes a couple things in the files, you don't have to run it in the background.
Besides, you can't really use a Manila2D ROM and then complain about free RAM. There aren't really any M2D ROMs out there with more than 22mb free on a fresh flash. If you want alot of RAM, you have to sacrifice Manila altogether and just go with Titanium.

Yeah, I guess that becomes the question then. Right now I'm using Titanium (StripTease: Lots to Love) and enjoying it aside from the clock (which I realize is being very nitpicky). Further research yesterday showed me that I should have shifted my focus from finding panels to finding plug-ins. I tried two (CAnalog Clock and CDigiClock), both of which seemed to slow my phone down more than the regular clock, but I discovered last night that CAnalog Clock didn't completely uninstall and was still in Windows/StartUp. It could have been that parts of it were still being loaded along with CDigiClock. I removed all parts of CAnalog I could find, and am going to give CDigiClock another shot today.
Does anyone else use a different Titanium clock plug-in?

OMFG. I don't know what the heck is wrong with me the last couple days. For some stupid reason I was thinking that Lots to Love was a manila2d ROM and not Titanium. Sorry for that
Um, did you try the CHeroClock? I'm not sure if that's the same thing as CDigiClock or not, but I can tell you the reason they all make your phone slower is probably because they run on MortScript, which is most likely installed from the clock cab. There's not alot you can do about it besides keep track of your memory and overclock your phone. The only other way to change it is to do some pretty heavy cpr and xml editing that is way beyond my skill level.

I think CDigiClock is the same as CHeroClock, but I'll give it a shot just in case. And yeah, MorScript is correct. I've overclocked to 240, and I'm definitely not ready for CPR editing. XML maybe. But probably not.
Thanks for the info.

Analog Clock on Today Screen

Hi all!
I am almost done getting my Today screen looking the way I want it - but I need one last item. I need a simple Analog Clock - nothing terribly fancy, and I don't need any additional features to go with it. Just a clock that I can sit on my today screen....
Googled and didn't find anything (SBP time, but it has WAY more stuff that what I am looking for)...
Anyone know of such a plug-in?
Thanks!
never fear, for i shall create one!
vijay555 has it. As he mentioned, he has not package it..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=39417&highlight=
I'll try to have another think about packaging it up. Problem is, when I release it, someone will want to skin it, or resize it, or change the position etc. It's the follow up that puts me off releasing it :? VJEphemeris is customised for my use, and is built on a more generic skinning engine I'm working on, but I'm working on improvements incrementally.
Mention some ideas and me or whoever else releases one can try to implement it.
V
Vijay - I went and looked at the other thread, and the clock you have on your today screen is pretty much exactly what I was looking for...
As far as ideas go - I'd love to have it transparent....
I was on the bus yesterday heading to a Bulgarian folk music festival. Long story, but also a long journey, so I spent some time thinking about the plugin.
As I said, VJEphemeris is an experiement in skinning and a general "do everything I can put into it" plugin, but unfortunately due to time pressures (pun intended) I've not been able to work on it for a while.
However, I spent some time thinking about the plugin. It already does transparency and stuff; I guess it'll need a date line as well. I'll give it a go, again subject to time pressures... but I also said that about 6 months ago

Vijay, that would completely rock!
Thanks muchly!
I agree with kehlert, we need a small lightweight simple clock, about the size of the one on your magician post Vijay.
Just as it is would be great, but floating and selectable opaque/transparent would be nice as well.
I'll bet there are a few of us waiting with bated breath
Will wait meekly though Vijay

update
I acutally, before posting, sent SPB a question regarding the Time app - if it had a Today plug-in... They say in the *next* version it will, but not the current one....
So close to being set with my today screen...

There is a standard analog clock. On my vario, if i press and hold on the clock, it asks me if i want digital or analog. I must admit it is a little small and probably not what you are after.

Yup - *way* small (was aware of that from previous PPC)
Thanks, tho!
you can use WisBar Advance Desktop from Lakeridge software
you can make any png file as your clock
it is very nice program
something like this?

Wow - that's pretty much what I was looking for, except for the multiple clocks...
ViJay - if you're still working on the single clock, I am still interested - this just gives me something workable for now...
Thanks JwY!!

Flip Clock "behaviour"

I've done some extensive searching on this but haven't found an answer (apologies if I've missed it somewhere)
Is there a way to change the original flip clock "settings, so that every time you go back to the home tab the clock is defaulted to zero, and then "flips" to the correct time?
This occurs when using the vodaphone theme, and also appears in their promo videos and some on youtube, but I can't seem to duplicate it. I'm using dutty's rom, and have tf3d config installed.
Thanks for any help
That would be really cool.
...like the hatch in LOST.
Well I know it's definitely a possibility, as I said it does in fact do this in the vodaphone theme, and I've seen it in on other review vids on youtube. Just not sure where to get the files or "version" of that clock...
Anyone?
Install a really old version of TF3D. This brings the clock behavior you described as well as transitions when switching tabs.
There was another thread about it with files to get it working.

Can I change the blue colors of my new AT&T HTC Tilt 2?

Hi all, total newb here.
I have a new Tilt 2 from AT&T and I'm in way over my head here with changing things around (first smart phone). I've been searching these board for several days, trying different things, but I'm not having much luck. Basically, all I want to do is get rid of all the blue on the TF3D. Anyway to do this?
I'd really love a simple, sleek black theme going. I tried the Dusk theme from another thread, but that didn't work. So, in short: Is there a simple, newb-friendly way to change all that blue to black?
Thanks for the time.
I've been digging around quite a bit, and it looks like there's no easy way to do this. So I've been playing with the manila editor I found on these boards, and I have a few questions for anyone who can help me out here.
1. I have found and copied all the manilla files from the phone. I am assuming all I need to do is simply alter the images and replace, correct?
2. In trying to replace the images - changing blue to black with a color replacement tool in Photoshop - I am having an issue with image quality once the file is converted back to a manila file. Here's what happens: I save the original manila file as a .png. I then alter this file by changing it from blue to black. Then I use the manila editor to replace the file. HOWEVER - after I replace the file, the image becomes horribly dithered. This also happens if I save as a .jpg. Any way to retain image quality when converting back to a manila file?
Thanks in advance to anyone who can help out.
get MaxManilla and install HDWalls
make a background using HDWalls (save the image to use as theme background so you can see it under "start" too) and apply it.
I have a tilt2 and I flashed to leo energy with dusk... love the switch !
edit:
you can also try applying the HQ Wallpaper patch
Rajinn, thanks for the response. If I may pick your brain for a moment...
When you say "flashed to leo energy with dusk," what does that entail, exactly? (total n00b, remember?) What, exactly, does flashing to leo energy accomplish? Is this something a beginner can accomplish without destroying the phone?
Looking around at the non-AT&T Rhodium, I would be very happy with the standard TF3D black version, but I'll entertain other ways to get something similar. That blue Touchflo is just too... blue.
Thanks!
Alternatively, if this is easier:
Is there a way to change my blue AT&T TF3D to the standard, non-AT&T black TF3D?

When he said "flashed to leo energy with dusk", he means he flashed to EnergyROM "Leo" (The ROM version) with the "MaxManila Dusk" Manila (aka TF3D) theme. While flashing a custom ROM, like EnergyROM, is pretty safe and has many benefits (such as faster overall speed and a superior user experience), you might not want to try it right away if you're still a bit new to your phone. I recommend you get a good feel for Windows Mobile and the Tilt2 before exploring more advanced options such as custom ROMs.
I would also follow his suggestion of using HDwalls. I've never used it myself, but it's very popular among the boards. There are also premade wallpapers here if you don't want to make your own. If you want to change the bottom slider with all the tabs, you might try this website for premade sliders.
Have had a Tilt 2 for a while now, and wanted to know the same thing. The highlight color is blue on the clock and other things and I hate it too. But I haven't found a way to change them yet. Tried HDwalls and some other stuff. Will end up flashing, just waiting for the right ROM to surface. Sorry. A far as mine tho only highlight is blue, Clear clock,no lines, curtians, sliders, ect...

I agree, and thanks for the advice. I'd be way in over my head if I tried it and I don't think it's worth the hassle.
I did manage to replace my blue clock, and hopefully I can replace the blue slider. With those two changes, I can definitely live with the remaining blue highlights.
(I now have a transparent clock with the white numbers. If anyone has a link or a .cab file for the stock black background clock with white numbers, I'd be grateful. The transparent is cool, but not quite what I'm after)
Thanks all!

When I still used Sense 2.1, this worked for me.
working on a tmo version of what you are describing...
... But the trouble is that there are so many image files that need to be converted. also, I agree abou the image quality. in fact, I found that the best way to go about changing images for TF3D is doing the complete oposite of what I was describing in my thread (signature).
the only way to make it look good is to dither it further, or make a design that uses no gradients (yes even a B&W gradient turns out bad). I am not sure why that is. maybe because winmo only supports 8 or 32 bit, and does not support 16 or 24 bit.
I have already changed my slider button from blue to black, but it is a completely different image. and yes, I had to complicate the image a lot for it to look half way decent. I kinda miss M2D in a way because if it.

Thank you, I'll give that one a try this evening.
S.V.I: That slider button is the one thing that's driving me nuts. (Well, until it's changed, then something else will come along )
So I understand the process of changing images - once I alter an image using the Manila editor and replace the manila file with the new image, do I simply replace the manila file in the /windows directory?
If so, I noted that I do not have permissions to do a copy & replace (Total Commander needed, right?). Could I simply delete the original manila file and then paste the new file (so no copy/overwrite is needed)?
Thanks!

When you finally get tired of it, which you probably will, read up on flashing. If you read in the forums for days before asking a question, read on. Flashing, to me, is more benefial than keeping the stock ROM. IF AND ONLY IF, you get a good ROM that has no issues, and stick with it. For those of us who like to flash often, it is more of a hobby to test others work, than for us to use. But if you see a great ROM that you absolutely love the look of it, read read read, and flash flash flash. Be sure to ask as many questiosn as possible before flashing, so you don't mess nothing up though.
slider buttons. hopefully they uploaded bu opera.
these are the sliders buttons that I made. sorry i can not upload any photos. dont have them. but you can try them and see which suits you. just make sure that you disable manila before installing and uninstalling them.

How can I get rid for the Calendar on the home screen w/out themes?

Hello all, first post here *as a WM* user...
I got my HD2 last week, and I have installed some tweeks already, including running Android from the SD, but one thing is really bothering me; the Calendar on the home screen.
I'd really like to kill it, but from what I have found (yes, I searched lol), it looks like I will have to theme to do so. Honestly, I really like the Sense 2.5 look as it is stock, so I am not looking to completely redo it. I just want to remove the Calendar from the home screen, and if I could completely remove the top 3 quick links, that would be a bonus.
I did find this thread, which looks promising, but the files are not avail for DL anymore, and I am slightly confused about how to implement it anyway lol...

Anyone know of a way to remove this? Maybe a simple .cab to run that will do it?
Any help is appreciated...

In terms of the quicklinks, try Cookies home tab, I think you can remove them (you can change the number of them, so guessing you might be able to)
Defitinely definitely install Cookie, it adds next to no baggage to your phone but offers so much flexibility and customisation it's unreal....

No it shouldn't (altho it offers more choice for clocks) and it's easily uninstallable with no damage caused if you dislike it
Wow, CHT is awesome!
Thanks Guys!
Enjoy it! Fantastic mod for Sense!

[Q] How to create a splash screen detailed

Folks,
So I want to start working on a theme idea for my stock Imagio running TF3D 2.1, but have no idea how to get started.
Bit of information before suggestions start coming in. I have zero coding skills. The last coding I did was back in the 80's with COBAL and Extended Basic. So you can see how far removed I am.
I can't flash to a custom ROM, so need to remain with the stock Verizon ROM that came with the Imagio.
I do have speed tweaks and am using HDWall to create icons, sliders and what not.
But what I want to do is make a complete theme, including that startup screen as well as the power down screen. I can do icons and wallpapers using HDWall, but want to 'go all the way' with this.
Also, the animations would need to be pulled off the xbox console, and I have no video capabilites as well.
Am I a lost cause, or is there something out there, or someone willing to take on an 'apprentice'?
To get you started:
Startup.gif - this is the opening animation
welcomehead.png - this is the picture that is displayed after Startup.gif
Shutdown.gif - this is the shutdown animation
All files are in the Windows folder
jmart! Hows it going! So, I just need to replace those two? Got that. Now, how do I go about making the GIF file, and how many frames am I allotted before either it gets too long, or the system says its too big?
Doing great buddy, you?!
To be honest, I have never tried to make a gif. Windows probably doesn't care about the number of frames (how long it runs), worse case, it will just get cut short.
So far, I haven't had the issue with 2.1 that I ran into with 2.5, but like I said, I want to pound this by installing and uninstalling stuff, changing themes, just running it into the ground so that I can be sure there is nothing wrong with my system before I throw your CAB back on.
I do have to tell you, I am running around 80%, maxing out at 82% when S2P is running. And it seems a little snappier than 2.5, so I am thinking since I installed cookies right off the bat, that maybe there is something there with Cookies that is causing a glitch with my system.
So I will try and figure out how to make the GIF, I got a friend whos into video production, and another who is a computer genious, I mean smarter than Bill Gates when it comes to these things. Maybe I can get those two together to copy the opening sequence from my Xbox and put it into a GIF.
Thanks again! Little over a week and 2.5 will get another go!
That sounds cool!
Just a heads up, if you are talking about stock Sense on your Imagio, you have 2.0. 2.1 is available as a cab also though.

I was told I have 2.1! How do I know which one I do have? Maybe thats the issue, am I upgrading too many steps? Can you go 2.0 to 2.5?
The Imagio hasn't been upgraded past 2.0. The did upgrade the name from TF3D to Sense though in the MR1 update.
Going from 2.0 to 2.5 is exactly right
Well aint that a blip! That would also make sense as to why some of the clocks I have tried havent worked!
Thanks. Oh, and I like the look of your ROM, very nice!

Creating an animated GIF has never been easier, if you use MS GIF animator (it's freeware!). It's a very simple tool, as much in design as in usability, with which you will be able to create your own animated GIF in the blink of an eye. It doesn't even need any installation. All you need is to execute it, select the images you want to incluide in your GIF animation, modify the parameters that you want from the configuration, and all set! All of that via a thoroughly intuitive interface.
