Does anyone know where the Water Detection Sticker is located on a D2? my device needs service and just wondering because my phone doesnt have one. is it built into the phone?

today i received my phone back from the repaircenter. They have replaced the mainboard.
Now i see that they forgot to replace the void stickers. will i have a problem when i need the phone repaired ?
Best bet is to either ring them or send an email since you might very well have problems if you want to get it repaired again for something.
the problem is solved. I sent an email to the repair center, they made a note about the subject and i guess i am good to go now
Call them back in a week to ask if they have it on record, just to be certain.
slightly OT, i recently had to open the case of my hd2 as there was a fingerprint behind the camera lens cover glass and in so doing obviously had to remove the void sticker and moisture indicator in the process. you can get them both out intact with a pin. upon reassembling, i didn't see the point in replacing them in situ and instead stored them in a small sealed plastic bag with a silica gel bag. i'll pop them back in if i ever need to send the phone back to HTC.
Does anyone know where the water detection sticker (or whatever it's using) is located in the Legend?
After I stupidly left my Legend in the bathroom while I took a shower my phone is acting up. Basically there's a horizontal row on the digitizer that isn't working and when you've used the phone for a while the digitizer goes all crazy and adds a huge vertical offset to all touch coordinates; you press an icon at the bottom of the screen and it thinks you're pressing one in the top row etc. After a reboot it works again for a few minutes of interaction and then it's the same problem again.
The phone is still covered by warranty but before I send it in I'd like to check if the water detection sticker indicates that the warranty is voided (which means that I'll have to pay a service fee and they won't fix it). Since the phone already has been to service once (also problems with the digitizer, they exchanged it) the IMEI/warranty void stickers covering the screws are already removed so I can open it to have a peek if necessary.
Any ideas?
Looks like it might be beneath the micro SD card. If you remove the bottom plate and then the battery, then take out the micro SD card there is a small white (in my case) square that is visible. I'm not 100% certain that this is what you're looking for but it's the only thing visible that looks like it could be the detection sticker.

There is also a similar small round white sticker on the top side of the battery. I heard somewere this is also a water detector.

Thanks guys! Checked both indicators and they're as white as they can be so this little piggy is off to warranty repair again.
Just to inform u,my phone was on a bath tab for two or three minutes(still alive) an the small sticker on the battery is still white. Might be that indicator is hidden somewhere else . Haven't checked the one underneath micro SD card.
Good luck.

My Defy's back panel opened accidentally when submerged in water. So i removed battery and all cards. But since i was out of station i couldn't do anything with the phone. For almost 40 hrs water was there inside my phone. I could see it in between the lcd screen and the outer gorilla glass. Gave the phone to a local repair center. They did something to dry out my phone. Now the phone boots up well, all the function and all the radios too are working.
Problem is,
1) screen shows some signs of water damage
2) Left edge of screen almost the left most 1 cm part does not sense touch (Works sometimes)
3) First capacitive button on the left does not work (works sometimes)
4) Proximity sensor does not work (the area where sensor is located looks empty coz notification LED can be seen from this sensor window. Guess the local repair guy fiddled with it)
So i want to repair all this damage done. Is this damage repairable or should i consider replacing any parts. Would replacing the screen be a good idea? where can i buy this screen and the proximity sensor as well
Thanks for your help in advance.

Dude since you are in India buying parts has only one solution - ebay ! However, you may try going to Motorola service center and ask them if the parts can be availed! However, if in Delhi you may go to places like Gaffar market. Probably such places exists in your place too.. The local service guy may be able to tell you about it
Thanks a lot. I think I'll replace the touch screen digitizer. That will leave only the proximity sensor to be something about. I dont think we get this sensor as a spare part anywhere.
One more question. Camera shows inverted images in the display. Any fixes for it?

Did you get any solution for the Proximity sensor?
I´ve got the same problem. Seems like it´s on the motherboard and cant be replaced. Is it true?
Hi,
My Nexus S got water damaged. I dried it out and the digitiser wasn't responding. So I replaced the screen and that's all working now. but...
The next problem is that I get no signal whatsoever, It does recognose the sim card but the signal triangle in the notification bar is always empty and it does not connect to the network. WIFI and BT are working fine.
I am going to try and replace the antenna but I can't source the spare part anywhere! I believe the part number to be GH42-02752A and it's called "INTENNA-GT_I9020 MAIN" It clips into the bottom of the rear inner frame and has two small contacts.
Does anyone where I can source this part? Or any way to test if this is in fact the fault?
re: nexus s
I have the same problem with my Nexus S signal. I'm not sure where you can track down a part. Its no longer in stores. Buying the part itself may be expensive. Let me know if you have any luck getting one and I'll let you know if I'm lucky as well

Whenever I gently rinse my phone in water under the tap, there are always a few small water droplets inside of the flap as well as in the groves of the phone where the flap sits , is this normal?
I have noticed this early on from when I purchased the phone from new and so I haven't done anything to affect the seal as far as I am aware. (So far the litmus paper has stayed white so I haven't yet voided the warranty)
No its not ,maybe the rubber in the sim try in not good anymore if you open the sim tray alot from wear and tare (i guess not)
i open my SIM tray maybe five times and most of was for testing ( i've readed it ruins waterproofing over time )
in the *#*#service#*#* menu you can check waterproofing
i found out where is the hole for "Universal Cell Phone string" is not 100% underwater proof from the start, i've putted something there and now my phone is 100%
btw
its near the sim tray maybe so if you didnt open alot the sim tray is where you got the water from
PS
i also was sure in the beginning water\air also came from sim tray
if you want ill upload a video how to check it
youll need duct tape\ you finger (to cover holes) and enter the service menu (*#*#7378423#*#*) > service test > pressure sensor . if the number is moving up when you press gently the glass and let go they change down again but not while you still press , you open the sim completely you'll see the number will not move
i did post on this once somewhere in this forum
also there is app in google app store that doing that for you its abit more easy to use but less accurate
