Dopod 838 pro Touchscreen not working - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hi Guys,
I have Dopod 838 pro. My mobile touch screen stop working two days before. I tried all the possibilities like reseting, removing battery & sim card and also tried to reset to Factory default settings by "Clear Storage"
But still its not working.
Now there is a major problem after "Clear Storage", the Boot screen stops at place where it prompt "Tap the screen to continue installation". since touchscreen not working, i couldn't able to tap screen to skip to the desktop.
I don't know, how to bypass this screen. Atleast if anyone knows solution to bypass the installation screen, then i can meanwhile use the mobile with using the keyboard & buttons.
Looking for your replies.

Need urgent help! My SPV M5000 screen is not responded!

It happened last night. I pushed the power button to activate the unit as normal but it was freezed. The screen was not shown up. Then I did the soft reset. It restarted but after that, the touchscreen was not responded. Now everything works as normal (I use the keyboard instead, thanks for the Mobile 5), only the touch screen that is not working.
My question is
-Should I do the 'Clear Storage (same as hard reset)'? As if I do, it will prompted me to align the screen then I will have no way out.
Any of you could recommend how to go further from this?
Thanks.

XDA Atom Screen Hanging

Hi, I just received my XDA Atom. Nice looking device but I've got a problem. After a few minutes of use, the screen will not respond to any taps from the stylus. The buttons however still work fine. A few minutes later, the touchscreen will start responding again. It's a fresh device, I haven't installed anything yet. Has anyone else had this problem or doees anyone know what is happening?
Cheers.
after reset, it can be looking for celular operator
Yes but it's not the device itself hanging or slowing down, It's just the touch function of the display. The device can still be used using the buttons to navigate.
Just in case anyone was having the same problem - I've sorted it. The cause of the problem was my T-Mobile UK sim card. Go figure.

Touch Screen

Hi, I have a problem with my Cingular 8125. See my touch sreen is not working and I just flashed my phone. Now I am at the part where it tells me to "Tap the screen to set your Windows Mobile based device." Since my touch sreen is not working, I can not touch it, well I did but it does not work. Is there any other way I can by pass this? Any help is really apprecited, thanks in advance.
why not install wm6 standard rom without (touch screen)
If can provide the link, I would really apprecite it and also I tried flashing the ROM with WM6 but I have Vista. I followed all the steps in how to update ROM with Vista but it doesn't work. Everytime I try to flash the phone, it says "ROMUpdateUtility MFC Application has stopped working" and I can not seem to find any solutions .
PLEASE NOTE!!! SMARTPHONE(Non touchscreen) AND POCKET PC ROMS ARE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! YOU CANNOT FLASH A SMARTPHONE ROM TO A POCKET PC!
I tried flashing the Cingular 8125 with a WM6 ROM, and that doesn't work. I couldn't find any ROM that has the touch sreen disabled . Is there a WM6 for Cingular 8125 that has the touch sreen disabled? If anyone could help me, I would really apprecite it.
- Thank You...

If your touch screen doesn't work I don't know how much use the phone will be for you but to get past the spot your in at this stage of your install you can always use a freeware called my mobiler at mymobiler dot com or pocket controller pro from any of the usual places.
Than you for the software information, it really helped but I'm still stuck, I am at the "align screen" part, I keep tapping the target but never works.. .
I just posted this on another forum and then I read this posting. Based on what I read here, the MDA is totally hosed if you cannot use the touch screen?
Well my MDA Touch Screen has finally quit working. My MDA is almost 2 years old. Now I have a problem using the MDA since I am so use to using the Touch Screen. Has anyone tried to use the MDA without the touch screen?
If so, how did you setup your MDA? I cannot even get to the various button menu to reset all my buttons. I have been using SPB PocketPlus, SPB Diary, etc., and now I am at a loss to even get to the Menu Screen. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you in advance.
All I can say is that you can try to change the touch screen or call T-Mobile or HTC to see if they will replace it for you. I just ordered a new touch screen I found on eBay and am waiting until it comes so I can replace it and see what happens. If you are having software problems, I am not sure what problems you are having, you can try to re-flash the MDA with the newest MDA ROM or a ROM on this site...
Hope it helps
I had the exact same problem you had, and I finally came across a solution on a different site.
All you need to do to bypass this is connect your phone to your pc (usb activesync) and browse the contents on your wizard and delete \\\Windows\StartUp\Welcome.ink . Then soft reset your phone and you are past the screen calibration part and continuing the installation

Can you tell me how to find this file? I've connected my 8125 to my PC, but did a search for the file and it's not found. If I can bypass the screen it would at least be able to be used. I appreciate your help. Also, using My Mobilier doesn't work if you can't tap the screen as I tried it.

I got problems with the touch screen also, when i press something on the screen it highlights above or below my selection, writing SMS was nightmare. So i went to htc service and they replace the "touch digitizer" and now my problems are history, everything works like charm.I think you should try that.

screen problem

Hi there,
Just wanted to run this issue past you guys with my htc tattoo. Basically, sometimes my touch screen just doesn't respond to touch input at all, the phone still woks using the buttons but that's all. its random as to when it does it and it can go a week or so working fine.
I've tried re calibrating it (when its working) but the problem still comes back. I didn wonder if the screen was faulty, but its not all the time?
Its still on the original (orange)rom, ive never put an unofficial rom on it.
Could it be a loose connection inside the phone, ive no other screen issues.
I have reset the phone back to factory defaults before but this doesn't stop the issue from coming back
Any help/advice would be great
Regards, Chris
