Downgrade radio - G1 General

Hi, i am having problems with the losing signal on my g1
I wanted to try to downgrade to an older radio
I am using the hardspl and the latest cyangenrom, will it cause any problem if i just install the older 22.19.23 radio?
would I need to install the cyangenrom again or do a wipe?
Cheers

Don't quote me on this, but I've heard about people that bricked their phones when they try to downgrade.
I could be wrong, but I'm just letting you know what I heard.

Yup Don't downgrade Your Radio Bro I Bricked My G1 Doing That So don't

Yeah you will brick if you're running Hayhuro's new SPL, so you would first need to downgrade the SPL then the radio (don't quote me on that though).
Also the new radio was meant for cupcake 1.5, so in theory downgrading to the 1.1 radio you would be causing more problems.

Cyanogen 4.x radio

Hello everybody, I am looking for a link to where I can find a radio version that is compatible with Cyanogenmod 4.x.
Can anyone help me out?
Turns out that Cyanogenmod 4.x does work with the Danger SPL, but there are a few issues, namely proccess.android.media does not work, so no sound. I have no evidence to verify this, but I think it is related to issues with the Danger SPL.
Okay, so android.process.media is not crashing as a result of using the experimental radio image. In installed 2.22.19.26I and it is still crashing. I have also tried reinstalling 4.2.14 (three times) and it still occurs. Any suggestions would be intensely appreciated.
try a wipe?

Oh god yes that did the trick why didn't I do that earlier?
Thank you for the assistance, I am really grateful.
LOL
i cant even tell if this guy is serious.
None the less....the newer radio works as well. 2.22.23.02 and yes you can flash it over Danger SPL if you already have it.
(assuming u have a G1)

MT3G (3.5mm) Radios?

Is there anywhere that states what radios are compatible with this device?
Can I use the 3.22 or the 6.35 Radios? I should be able to if I have the right SPL correct?
I have tried to use ROMs that are for the 3.22 radio, and it doesnt boot.

Be careful when flashing other radios. You may brick your phone. For the Fender devices, I don't believe there are other radios at this time.

6.35.15.01 on the magic?

Does anyone here know if the radio image distributed with the hero 2.1 update would work on the magic? I'm not eager to test, since if it does not, it will brick the phone, but the previous 6.35 radio images DID work, and we knew they work before HTC came out with 1.5 sense update.
How did that came to be? And is there any idea we can find this out before flashing ?
Some brave soul needs to actually try it. I don't believe there is any other way of knowing other than trying.
since when does a radio brick the phone?
ive erased my radio fully, multiple times..
now if you screw up fast boot.... then your hosed.
wyefye : if you're feeling bold then, how about you be the first one to try If you do succeed, and it works, please post pictures. If not, post too, so we may offer you condolences

DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU DON'T WANNA RISK BRICKING YOUR PHONE!! WE DO _NOT_ KNOW IF IT WORKS!!
But what's the point? AFAIK this radio is just a regional variation of the 6.35.xx.xx we all know and use.
I try to flash the new radio but when i reboot the radio its still the same.
Can some one try and see what happen.
well did it flash it ? What message did you get ? Did the loading bar appear in fastboot corner on the phone ?
Loading bar all the way trough, but it wont update.
And what did it say in cmd window ?
I flash the radio, boot, system and userdata but no luck, it wont load.

Why did you expect it to work? The ROM is made for the Hero, not the Magic. This thread concerns only the radio, not the full ROM.

so uhh yeah, after being on stock froyo for a bit and them coming back to cyanogenmod i couldnt help notice the way wayy better reception and all that on froyo. and so i asked a question before about what does that and you guys said drivers and whatnot which im assuming is the "radio" that you all talk about in roms. so is there by any chance some way of getting this better radio on cyanogenmod? cheers
Just flash the latest radio and you're all set. I believe the latest is 7.13.35.05.

That radio is taken from the rom with Froyo released for Vodafone devices.
You probably have already installed it when you have flashed the latest OTA with Froyo. I'm not sure, but I don't think that installing CyanogenMod overwrites the radio installed by the stock rom.

actually now that ive taken a look at my screenshot of that froyo rom ive got in my sig (the one im talking about that i was trying with the amazing wifi reception and all that) the radio is actually 7.05 and that other number in front of it is an older version too. so does that mean the older versions are better or what? i get better wifi reception and all that on an older radio? anyways im sure you see my point, so now im confused lol

7.05? Or is it 7.13.35.05? If you do lurk around more and read through the radio update threads, some people already mentioned they have better reception on older radio. I can't verify that but the latest radio do make my reception better. Or you can try flashing a few radio update and see which has the best reception.

You can use any radio above 2.06.50 safely on a T-Mobile HD2.
Just download the one you want, turn your phone off, then turn it on while holding the vol-down button, then run the RUU from your pc.
EDIT: ALSO, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT FLASH ANY RADIO WITH A .51 IN IT. ONLY .50

You are running Android so just go to Setting>scroll all the way down to About phone> Baseband version. The Base band version is actually your Protocol version and Radio version. I will use mine for example.
Blue= Protocol version Red=Radio version

If would not have to reflash the same radio, that won't help anything.
You could change your radio to a different one, "upgrade" doesn't really mean anything, sometimes the 2.12.50 radio gives better reception than the 2.15.50 radio depending on location and ROM, so check your current version as above poster mentioned and flash a different one to see if it helps.
