Hello everybody, I am looking for a link to where I can find a radio version that is compatible with Cyanogenmod 4.x.
Can anyone help me out?
Turns out that Cyanogenmod 4.x does work with the Danger SPL, but there are a few issues, namely proccess.android.media does not work, so no sound. I have no evidence to verify this, but I think it is related to issues with the Danger SPL.
Okay, so android.process.media is not crashing as a result of using the experimental radio image. In installed 2.22.19.26I and it is still crashing. I have also tried reinstalling 4.2.14 (three times) and it still occurs. Any suggestions would be intensely appreciated.
try a wipe?

Oh god yes that did the trick why didn't I do that earlier?
Thank you for the assistance, I am really grateful.
LOL
i cant even tell if this guy is serious.
None the less....the newer radio works as well. 2.22.23.02 and yes you can flash it over Danger SPL if you already have it.
(assuming u have a G1)

I'll be buying a MT3G in less than a week. I've been doing a ton of research before I have a $200 paper weight. I'm going to do the use FlashRec.apk and install Amon RA's recovery image. Then install Cyanogen's latest ROM. I like this recovery image for the APPS2SD feature. My question is as follows. I've read that changing the Radio and SPL isn't really necessary before installing a new ROM on MT3G. The video on theunlockr.com shows him changing them. I'm not uncomfortable doing it, but what is the advantages/disadvantages to changing it? (I read in another post here that someone bricked their device doing this.)
Thanks for all the info and work this site is great.
Don't bother.
Changing the standard radio or SPL from the MyTouch 3G isn't really necessary...unless you're planning to port a HERO ROM build to your device.
Otherwise, you're in good shape. The One-Click Root Method works out wonderfully. It's good to hear that you've done a fair bit of research on the topic. Btw, Amon_RA's image is fantastic. Far superior to Cyanogen's current build version.
Thanks
Thanks for the help. I'll be getting my new phone on Wednesday. Is there something different about Hero ROM's that I should be forewarned about if I decide to switch ROM's in the future?
I'm running a Hero rom with the stock SPL and radio with no issues. This is on a mt3g.

I am yet to have any problems with Bluetooth. I use my headset often.
And to the other guy, I find that hard to believe that you have the standard, "out of the box" radio and SPL - yet somehow managed to find and flash a HERO port that is compatible.

Interesting, you have full bluetooth on a Hero ROM? It's a known issue that bluetooth is not fully functioning on any Hero build, the kernel does not allow it. When the kernel is open source it will just be a matter of time.

Must have New Radio and SPL for Hero
Necessary to have different Radio and SPL for Hero ROM's as stated by Reignzone? It's to my understanding though, that Hero ROM's on MT3G have considerable lag? Is this myth or fact? OR Dependent on the ROM?
Dont need to change anything.i have the stock spl and running evil hero 2.7x.great rom,no lag with 96mb linux-swap.by the way i have a mt3g. Spl ooo6. Good luck.
After reading up and watching videos decided to update my rom, the current was an energy rom but I just decided to update to the latest, so I downloaded the rom plugged my phone in and went through all the procedure as it goes, it updated a success! Then when it restarted my phone it just won't come on?? just the pink loading circle. what have I done??
did you check that you have a radio that works with the rom you have used? boot to bootloader, flash the radio, try again.

read the chefs rom thread, first few posts. It will tell you the minmum radio needed.
You flash a radio just like a rom, and (if that WAS the problem) the phone shoulod boot after flashing the radio.
perhaps I'm being dumb but I can't see anywhere a minimum radio rom required
hehe, ok, so that chef doesn't include details of the required radio, shame on them!
I'd have a try with radio 2.08, since it's the latest.
You can always remove it later.
cheers, I updated to 2.08 and all works now!!
no worries, happy to help.
Does anyone here know if the radio image distributed with the hero 2.1 update would work on the magic? I'm not eager to test, since if it does not, it will brick the phone, but the previous 6.35 radio images DID work, and we knew they work before HTC came out with 1.5 sense update.
How did that came to be? And is there any idea we can find this out before flashing ?
Some brave soul needs to actually try it. I don't believe there is any other way of knowing other than trying.
since when does a radio brick the phone?
ive erased my radio fully, multiple times..
now if you screw up fast boot.... then your hosed.
wyefye : if you're feeling bold then, how about you be the first one to try If you do succeed, and it works, please post pictures. If not, post too, so we may offer you condolences

DO NOT FLASH THIS IF YOU DON'T WANNA RISK BRICKING YOUR PHONE!! WE DO _NOT_ KNOW IF IT WORKS!!
But what's the point? AFAIK this radio is just a regional variation of the 6.35.xx.xx we all know and use.
I try to flash the new radio but when i reboot the radio its still the same.
Can some one try and see what happen.
well did it flash it ? What message did you get ? Did the loading bar appear in fastboot corner on the phone ?
Loading bar all the way trough, but it wont update.
And what did it say in cmd window ?
I flash the radio, boot, system and userdata but no luck, it wont load.

Why did you expect it to work? The ROM is made for the Hero, not the Magic. This thread concerns only the radio, not the full ROM.

I'd use any of the 3 radios below.

Welcome to the Eugenia Radios Project Thread!
So... I've extracted the Radio ROMs from all the HTC stock ROMs out there and I'm giving you the download link for these, in case you want to flash only the RADIO ROM!

You can use any radio above 2.06.50 safely on a T-Mobile HD2.
Just download the one you want, turn your phone off, then turn it on while holding the vol-down button, then run the RUU from your pc.
EDIT: ALSO, DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT NOT NOT NOT NOT FLASH ANY RADIO WITH A .51 IN IT. ONLY .50
ive read somewhere that i had to reflash the same radio that i have or upgrade. how do i check which one i have????

You are running Android so just go to Setting>scroll all the way down to About phone> Baseband version. The Base band version is actually your Protocol version and Radio version. I will use mine for example.
Blue= Protocol version Red=Radio version

If would not have to reflash the same radio, that won't help anything.
You could change your radio to a different one, "upgrade" doesn't really mean anything, sometimes the 2.12.50 radio gives better reception than the 2.15.50 radio depending on location and ROM, so check your current version as above poster mentioned and flash a different one to see if it helps.
Can someone give me some advice please, my version of GB (Ginger-Yoshi) is doing major battery drain, so I would like to downgrade to Froyo - how do I do this without going back to stock....or should I go back to stock first?
Thanks.
PS - I did search XDA, but I am not doing well on search results, I'm sure this is common and has been covered, but I can't find it.
Wipe everything, flash your froyo rom and you are fine ...
yeah, I tried that...boot loop which is why I started this thread....Thanks for responding.
I was able to re-install my GB build to reboot my phone, so I figured I had to downgrade, I do know how to return to stock, but it's such a PITA to load everything over....
Seems to me, that you have installed the 1.33.0013d / 2.22.28.xx combo ...
In that case, you need a special kernel for your froyo rom, otherwise you need to install a different SPL. For this, you would like to read the instructions here
