Hi all...
My O2 atom life had problem when it starting up it can't get in to windows mobile menu.
When my O2 starting up from OFF mode it show:
Device booting.... as usual and continued with show welcome screen o2 and windows mobile screen, after that the atom ask password (if we set it) or show menu directly but in my case it the screen become white and only show title bar menu like signal and time.....
I had tried to reset using ON/OFF button and software reset but it don't work..... before this there aren't any problem with my 02....
My question is: why this problem happen?? and how to resolve it?
Thanks
try to do hard reset or flash the ROM
Thanks to arfanhy, I had tried to hard reset it and now my 02 work again
But can someone give me explanation why this problem can happen?
And what the cause of this problem?
Thanks
if you go to start-> settings-> lock (in wm 6.1) you'll see that there is an option "prompt if device unused for". it must have been activated somehow/by someone. So the time set there is taken up by the device after booting. So the password request comes on.

Hi, I'v got O2 XDA Mini S and a "little" problem with it. I'v just installed Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 and it crashed my phone. After installation (on my memory card), I could not see it on my today screen...so I'v tried to configure it in today screen configuration - but I could not get there - the configuration we're not accessible (it crashed). So after that, soft reset. And the real problem began. After the boot screen and "windows mobile welcome screen" the mobile just freezes. Active sync on my PC connects to it just for a second, then disconnects. The Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 is installed on my memory card, so I'v removed the memory card - the same problem. It was annoying - so hard reset....does not help. I have Wisbar Advance 2 as well, which is starting first and I can see only the welcome screen of it (sometimes it loads and I can see the whole skin). Sometimes (after reboot) I can see the menu, today screen etc. but the phone freezes. I think that the Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0 is freezing the phone after his process starts. Is there anything like "safe mode" start or something like that, which could help me to remove this soft ? Or any other way to normally start the phone ? Any ideas ? Many thanks for help.
It should start after hard reset - phone profiles, wisbar advance will not load after a proper hard reset - the phone will be back to factory condition.
Did you do proper hard reset? After that it sounds like phone profiles should be installed to device memory not storage card. Most today plugins only work properly on device memory.
I'v done the hard reset (I think it was done properly - comm manager and voice command button pressed in the same time and then reset button). But after I'v pressed these buttons, nothing specially happend....the phone was still off. So I'v turned it on....and there were no changes with the software - still the same. Maybe I'm doing the hard reset wrong ?

Yep sounds like hard reset is not done. Press these 2 buttons but keep them pressed and dont let go - then press reset with the tip of the stylus and then text should come on the screen with black background. Press green (call) button and hard reset will commence.
Or you can first turn device off - then press the 2 buttons and keep them held and press power on to reach the same screen.
Ok, I'v done it. Many, many thanks for help. The phone manual is wrong (!). . Anyway Phone Profiles [Second Edition] 8.0....WTF is that ? This program just crashed my phone and I need to reinstall all the soft. Wrrr. And I just wanted a profile manager . Thanks again for help !
Good, I am glad - try the one I use - its free http://www.winmobileapps.com/device/pocketpc/plt/plt_download.aspx
Nice one, got it. Thanks.

Same thing happened to my phone weeks ago... I use atom pure. With the help of these forums and moderators i was able to solve the problem.
Have you done this and experienced the ff:
1. take out battery and sim leave for 30 mins to 1 hour
2. fully charge the battery then insert the sim
3. soft reset and hard reset. in the hard reset it stops at a screen where it says its processing the d deletion of files (restoring where it first started)
4. open using soft reset and camera click
... yellow/green light is working
Solutions below were given to me by one of the Senior Members here in this forum (jiggs) and my phone is now working well...
You just have to upgrade your ROM to correct the problem. It seems that the ROM (software) in your device has been corrupted, and is not functioning correctly.
You can download the latest ROM at the www.seeo2.com
To update your device, do the following:
1. go into bootloader mode: press CAMERA+RESET(Stylus) simultaneously for a second
2. ignore the display
3. connect the device to PC with USB to miniUSB connector
4. Run the upgrade ROM from seeO2.com
5. just follow the instruction on screen... basically, you will just click on next, next, next, and watch it till it finishes.
This procedure, however, erases, everything on your device. So, if you have something in there, it will be gone after the upgrade.
Hope you regularly back up your files...
Hi guys,
This is my problem:
I have an Orange SPV 700. I have unlocked it few month ago and installed the Indigo Full ROM. Today in the morning i downloaded some stuff in my phone, and it started to work very slow (probably the memory was full). I have reset it and it didn't boot up.
When i start the phone i see the "by bepe" screen, then "smart mobility" screen and then the "windows mobile 6 professional" apears and nothing happend anymore.
I tried to install another rom but the Active Sync doesn't connect. When I conect the phone, the active sync tries to conect, but it doesn't succeed, but the network connection apears in control panel and i can even ping the device.
Can anybody help me reset/format/anything my device?

Do a hard reset
how? if you mean to press the little button from the bottom, i've allready done that. Actually that's the only button that works. If I want to shut down the phone, i have to remove the battery.

remove the battery and SIM card and let stand for 10 minutes then reinstall the battery to the device (let it go without a SIM card) and then hard reset your device To performa O2 XDA II Mini Hard / Full Reset : A full device reset clears memory, deletes all data and restores the Pocket PC Phone to its default settings. Programs installed at the factory remain, erasing all data that you have created and programs you have installed. Press and hold the power button, and then use the stylus to press the soft reset button at the same time. Be sure you have backed up all your data in a SD card or on your PC before performing a full reset. after the device is in a hard (full reset) make sure the device go to the boot loader (v1.02 listed at the bottom of the screen, while the top printed SERIAL / USB) by pressing the power button+camera and then use the stylus to press the soft reset button at the same time . connect the device to PC using USB Activsync, and Flash ROM the devices to solve problems GPRS or Internet connection you can use SummaryUtilitySP2

I 've tried the radio version as you mentioned it and the GPRS connection is fine! I suggest you should try to UPDATE the Network Wizard on your device
that cab file can work on the HTC Magician, just look at report ~ http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=360552 ( post # 5 )
Hi, I turned on my Shift for the first time in a moth or so and the Snapvue (liberated) won't allow me past the password screen. I haven't set a password! I've tried with/without various SIM cards but nothing. Any ideas? I've tried reseting it from withing Comm Manager but makes no difference. I can't even find a way of reflashing it as I can't establish a connecting that shoes up in Mobile Manager.....
Password for snapvue? Strange.
In Windows resetting Snapvue Settings using Hardkey up right there's some reset button- tried this?

I had the same problem no idea what caused it and it happened twice. To get wm back you have to take the battery out and let it reboot from cold at least that worked for me.
Yes I have had the same thing, without booting in to your windows version it appears to ask for a password to access WM5 when you press the screens bottom left button which boots into WM5. Ive not set a password is there a default one?
Any further help on this appreciated as I could do with accessing WM5 without booting, I'll check within Win 7 now to see if theres a way around this password issue, dont think I have the problem when in Win 7 going to WM5? Very odd not found any detail as to what this pass is?
