I'm quite sure that you will find stores on the internet that will accept creditcard or international bank transfers.

Don't do bank transfers, do credit card or debit ONLY. (is debit the same as bank transfer?)
Anyway, call Sony and ask directly about purchasing the Xperia's spare battery.

I didnt know SE replaces the batteries on warranty ?
My battery died twice ! because of the weather here & i plugged my Blackberry charger instead of my Xperias -.-'' ! , i had to buy a new battery when i went back to Dubai because its not included in the warranty -.-''
Anyways I'm in dhaka these days , i would've helped u but i honestly dont have the time .Sorry.
I asked & they said SE services center is in Gulshan + a place called Bashundarah or something like that im not sure & they said they have Batteries.
Just so you know , the price is shocking for a battery its way too much

Feedback for the HTC Europe support

Hello everyone,
I had the famous "Screen freezing/not responding and start menu clicking" problem.
I called by phone to the support in the UK and was told that I need to ship it for repair.
I was a bit afraid to do so in the beginning but after getting my mobile back home (After less then a week!!!), I must let you all know that their support is GREAT!
Not only that they replace the MB but also replaced the bezel that was a bit peeled.
The email response and the phone response was perfect - There is a guy named Abdul Ibrahim that was VERY helpful.
Bottom line, the phone was back and fixed perfectly in less then a week.
Cheers and well done!
Eldi
Would that be a completely new phone, refurbished?
Have you IMEI changed?
Where do you live? UK?
And most importantly:
did you need to produce any proof of purchase? I've got none thanks to crappy Ebay seller...
I had a very good experience with them. I had opened my phone (so warranty normally void) upgraded ROM but they still fixed it and shipped back with 2 day shipping from UK to US.
I personally give them an A+
They changed the Main board and the Bezel.
The phone is the same only with a new IMEI.

I live in Israel, that's why I was so surprised to get it quick.
Make sure if you do not live in Europe that you declare to customs BEFORE sending it!

No need for a proof of purchase as the warrenty covers 1 year.
The P3600 is not out for more then a year so you are automatically covered!

If the IMEI is different , its not the same phone!
They send you a refurbished phone , or a new one.

How could they change the motherboard and keep the same IMEI?
I would have thought that once he said the phone had its MB replaced you had in fact already been told that the IMEI was different.
Am I wrong?
A phone with a different MB _IS_ a refurbished phone, isn't it?
Sorry about that, you are right.

Indian sgs2 owners..need help.

I need help and suggestions of all the indian sgs2 owners..
Its been 1 month since I bought sgs2 from shop in gujarat..
I am now having display issues..
A perky line appears on the left side of display..it appears randomly..
And now the screen has started flickering like tubelight..lol
I went to samsung service station with my bill and picks of the problem..and strictly asked for replacement and he bluntly refused..
He said replacement is only done within 4 days of buying..not after that
He said only thing he could do is part replacement i.e screen replacement..it would be done when the part is available..it would take roughly a month..
What am I supposed to do..
I cant keep my phone there for a month just like tat..
I need advice about phone replacement in India..has anybofy done it..or what you guys have done if you had some problems..
Awaiting for reply and help and suggestions..
Thanks in.advance for any support..

According to me,,,either ur fw has become unstable,,,or there is some kinda voltage problem,,,i dont think it has anything to do with the screen,,cuz its not permanent,,,
since ur phone is still under warranty,,u dont have much to worry about,,,
And there is no such thing as part availability,,,they alwayz send the phone to some main service centre or manufacturing centre,,,,so if he is saying that parts are not available then he is tokin Sh*t...try some other service centre,,,thats the best i can say,,or sell it on ebay.. lol

well i dont think u ll get a replacement,,,like my seller told me that if i found any problems with the phone i cn replace it within 1-2 weeks,,,i think thats the limit...i am not sure cuz i did it onlyonce with my Samsung Jet,,it had a little air gap under the screen,,i found it the second day and got it replaced,,it took just 1 day...but in ur case its been a month,,i think u r out of the grace period,,,so the only option is to claim the warranty,,,it may take some time,,but u ll get ur problem fixed......and like i said before,,try some other service centre also,,,if possible then in some major city..
@OP- Holy sh!t mate. IMO you should contact Service Center or the Retailer from where you have purchased immediately. How on earth a retailer says that replacement is done only within 4 days. The Phone has One year warranty, so ask them to not kidding. That is a definite problem and clearly visible, so you SHOULD get a replacement.
Regards.

He was lucky. If it was me I would have smacked him across the face and got my replacement.
You have nothing to worry .Take it back to the shop you bought and get a replacement.
no company's policy cannot be against law...there is no four day limitation under the consumer protection act....so go ahead and sue him in the district forum...its quick and effective and gets the big guns rattled you dont even need a lawyer. All you need is a paper and a pen...all the best
ummm guyz,,,look grace period and warranty period are 2 different things,,,grace period is like for a week,,,u get a replacement only in the grace period when the company accepts that u got a defected model,,,while in warranty period u wont be charged for anything(if the warranty covers that particular damage,,fortunately in this case it does)and u ll get ur cell fixed,,,but it wont be "REPLACED"....
I am telling u this cuz i have been through this phase,,,there was a time when i got my cell replaced and the other time i got it fixed under warranty.
so there is no point in complaining against anybody,,,u ll just waste more time..
thank you guys so much for your suppoet and suggestions..
In the meanwhile today, the whole day the screen is flickering like hell..(like a fu**ing tubelight)..am so much pissed..
gonna talk with samsung India customer care and then will go to the service center..
I will be trying for phone replacement as priority cause I just cant figure out what the problem is..the line in the screen has not appeared a single time since past 4 days but the flickering screen is more serious and happening from past 2 days..
I am on stock indian kf3..
it could be screen prob or some internal voltage prob..i cant figure out..
so if I get screen replaced and the prob isnt solved then it would be really sad..
so trying for phone replacement initially..
thanks again guys for your support..
Ask them to replace the phone, not only the screen.
i think u shud try reflashing before that,,,,cuz i still think it may b due to a unstable firmware,,,

the line which used to appear on left side has reappeared on right side and the most worst problem that has happened now is the screen backlight has totally turned off..I set it to full brightness and then also it looks as if on lowest brightness..
I am to give it to service center today anyhow..
thanks for all your support..

Hi
believe me .. this country doesnt have a law which protects buyer's money
all this goverment and country's laws can do is protect big multinational companies like samsung's interests.
These peope have a rule about 4 days replacement.
I bought a SGS2 which had a scratch on the body. I used it for about 15 days and did the following to get mine replaced
Ill give u a suggestion :-
1) goto the shop whom u bought it from. Explain to him that your money is at stake. what he can do is issue you a current dated bill for the same IMEI number handset. The shopkeeper can do this (he can issue you a bill and immidiately cancel it in his records). My dealer does this! trust me. You have to convince your dealer.
2) go to samsung customer care ( a different one if possible but even if its the same one they cant do ****) actually dont go personally .. send someone else
3) tell them you bought the handset yesterday or day before (according to the bill) and tell them they BETTER replace it or ull complain to samsung korea since your handset is BRAND NEW according to the bill
4) They will HAVE to change it for u.
try it buddy
believe me ... if u cant BEAT em... JOIN em

HD2 Motherboard

Hello guys , my phone is getting freezed after some time of using (45 min) , the Tech's said that this is overheating of the motherboard
So any idea from where can i get new one?
Thanks in advance...
Sent from my HD2
You can find them usually on Ebay and Amazon. I would use what ever search provider (Google, Bing, Yahoo etc..) to do a search for "HTC HD2 motherboard". Pick out a site that has good site reviews if possible as well as good prices. A quick search yeilded dozens of sites that sold HD2 motherboards.
can somebody help me for my HD2?
two days befor it fall and after that my HD2 working with very low speed.
for example, it will take 10 minutes for boot from power on until sense completly load.

Are you saying you dropped the phone and now since its been dropped you have very slow load times?
Is you phone rooted with a custom sense rom?
Do you still have a warranty on the phone?
no the rom version is official and my phone warranty expired
So you noticed it after you dropped it?
Have you tried to turn off your phone and turn it back on? I know that seems kind of stupid but it does fix some small problems from time to time.
Sorry to say but there wouldn't be much you could do for it that i know of. The very best advice i could give you would be to open your own thread about your problem and put this infomation in there. This thread is about motherboards so you wont get as much help as of you opened your own. This way a lot more people will see this and with the more people that see's it maybe someone comes across it and has had that problem before and can offer a solution if one.
Thanks for your advice.
i will open a new topic.

I'm not so sure. I can't find any myself, but it maybe a firewall problem or something. What I find is typically they are "Motherboard Flex Cable Ribbon". Can't find "motherboard" only. I've contacted some sites, but they say no motherboard/main board at all.
If you have come up with a "motherboard" only (at a reasonable price), please provide link. That would be very helpful as I'm after one as well.
You can find a HD2 from Amazon or Ebay that has a cracked screen or something along those lines thats still working and get the motherboard off that phone. when i did a search earlier i seen two sites but i'm unable to find them now. one site you had to be signed in so you might need an account but i'll try and find the other and report back.
Guys please provide me a link if you find a motherboard , i found one on
Gadgetsaving & Ebay
but i am afraid that when i get them i get another problem with them so please any advice ?
Thanks in advance...
$120 seems pretty high. As i said above, you can find a used model off ebay thats still working for the same price. Then you would have more parts you can use off that phone.
You really need to know what your doing during the install process though so if you dont, send it out to someone that does. I seen a phone with a cracked screen but that was
100% working order sell on ebay for $55 just yesterday. Plus if you have problems with the motherboard/phone you do buy off ebay you can always ask to return it. If they
wont accept a return you can then file a claim through ebay stating the phone/motherboard wasn't as described to have ebay force the seller to refund you the money once
you return it. In some cases you can even get a return shipping label emailed to you so you wont be charged the shipping back to the seller.

Spare Battery

anyone knows one that is at least nearly as good as the original?
ebay is filled with fakes trying to look good and just plain fakes.
i bought one which i knew it wasn't genuine but i thought "what the heck, it's probably good for a few hours" and it isn't. i have to underclock the cpu so the phone wouldn't reboot and in lasts 6 hours if i'm lucky.
Just get the original. Its not that expensive. In india it is 1000 bucks. Do the math..
Bought two on DealExtreme... obviously fake and been using one without any issues.. honestly can't tell if it's fake or original judging only by the endurance.
I would like to share my experience of battery purchase. I bought a battery from ebay, this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/19066970991...X:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649#ht_1357wt_1141
I recieved the package in just over a week, but it was a battery for some ZTE device!!! I contacted the seller and they immediately sent me another one. Under one week later I had my new battery(seems like an original battery).
On first charge it seems to hold a lot better then my 15 months old battery I had. Charging now takes 1.5 hours like it used to, the old battery was 0-100% charged in 30-40 minutes, with the original charger.
So for 4.99$ or in my case under 4€ including shipment I can go more then a day of normal use, surfing, mail, calling, reading xda..
Or easily 2 days of light use.
I think it was well spent money, I recommend!
Edit: I guess I should mention that battery tested with ezet CM7.

Also bought one from DealExtreme, it works ( no problem there ) but mine doesn't last as long as the original one ( tested on the official 2.3 ), but great for spare if you don't have a charger around .

Where do you get the original one? In bangalore? any idea
In Bangalore, Huawei has a service center near KR Puram. They actually couriered me one since Im too lazy to move around too much
Any huawei service center should be able to give you one if you turn up. Give them a call first.

[Q] URGENT !! Dell venue pro not switching on(dead) ..Error while flashing

URGENT..Please help !! :fingers-crossed:
The device was initially freezing a lot ..So I happened to change the sd card to a 16 gb microsdhc from a 8gb one..But it still was having the same problems..Then I got to know about the EM app in the phone and I by mistake updated the touch firmware in it.
That is when I decided to flash the phone. Now while flashing the phone the phone froze all of a sudden(as already mentioned this was my original(earlier) problem). And the command prompt through which I was flashing the phone showed an error,so I removed the USB cable. From then,I'm not able to even switch on the phone(Not even able to see the Dell logo).
And please give me a solution about the touch firmware that I updated by mistake(That rendered the phone unresponsive to touch)
And there is no light even in the keyboard.
Thank you .

AFAIK, once you do the touch screen firmware update via EM, your phone can't be fixed via USB flashing anymore. From what I've read the unbricking process here on xda won't work at least. I'm not sure if a RIFF box would do it with what we have on the DVP so somene might want to chime in on this?
Does the computer recognize the phone even?

Have a google at riff box/jtag man. I think someone here was doing something with one to try and revive his bricked DVP. Have a seach and contact him maybe?
And if all else fails, someone is selling a DVP system board off the bay for $40. I have no idea about the details of the listing so check it out yourself before jumping the gun. AFAIK, it even comes with a 16GB card And make sure it's worth the $40 for such an old phone... I regreted purchasing a glass for $50 to fix another cracked glass DVP when you can get one for not that much more if you wait for deals...

(the DVP is quite easy to tear down BTW, just search the forums for a service manual)
Thanks Aleunge.. you are the man!! +2 reps to your meter for this.. i went and bought my system board.. i get a free 16gig sd card and the system board is unlocked!! best part... :good:

I don't know buying this mother board would certainly assure me that my dvp would get revived back.
And also would need the perfect tools to open up the phone ...right? Would you suggest me to open-up the dvp.(the warranty is already void).
Although I'm pursuing bachelors in technology,I've never opened-up a phone .. I don't want to regret it

Hey..just saw your post..Have you bought the system board? Is the phone now working properly ?
What kind of tools did you use ?
How did you open up the phone ?
Thanks
Hi, i bought my system board yesterday, tracking number says it will arrive at my house by monday so i'll let you know how it goes.. swapping a mother board out always fixes system errors which bricking would categorize under.. it wouldnt fix things like phone not charging or screen problems but definitely will fix cpu issues..

Oh hey mykalogist, just PM you. Didn't know you already bought the baby. Good luck with it! :victory:
And yes, SANTHOSHGODSPEED, I can't say for sure it'll fix whatever is up with your phone, but if it was mine, I would give it a try for that price. It seems very probable since so much is on that DVP board like MK said. And don't worry about taking open the phone. Just remember that it's already broken. Being physically broken further ain't so bad right?
I've taken open a few phones and the DVP is really one of the easiest. Just grab the service manual from here and peak through it before you attack it (or youtube it first). The hardest part I find is really just taking the back cover off (fingernails and guitar pick help). After that, it's easy breezy.
And I think all you need is a couple of Torx screw drivers. I think a T4 and T5 but I can't remember exactly. Tweezers or a small pair of pliers help for taking out the microSD card.
UPDATE!! :good:
Ok so i recieved my system board today from RAKI computers on ebay thanks to Aleounge's great find.. i installed the system board and my phone works flawlessly.. yay its alive again!!.. i only have two bad things to mention however.. before i do let me point out that you will be getting a totally new phone new IMEI, service tag and E sevice number so your old phone doesnt exist anymore... ok my bads, the service board i got is locked to a network i have no idea what it is i'm still pending a find i'll be checking out my EM here shortly to see what network it is.. i tried both T-Mobile and AT&T sim cards and none of them were accepted, its asking me for a PIN/Unlock code. And remember your phone is now a totally new phone so when you call dell for this unlock code they will ask for your phone info which will be listed under a different owner so they wont give it to you until you provided them your purchase invoice from RAKI Computer. Oh so thats my update, phone works and booted up again and i was able to install updates up to Tango but the phone will not accept my T-Mobile or AT&T sim ... Thanks again Aleounge and i hope this helps someone.. Remember to Rep me one
thanks

Hey ..thanks for the update ..
So according to you the phone is working fine and its booted-up and that you are able to update it to tango ..
But you are not able to use the phone with any mobile carrier...ie you are not able to make or receive calls..is that right ?
So you would not advice me to go with that option ?? or do you?
How's the tango update ? Is there much of a difference to the start screen ? Are you able to resize the live tiles ?
And if you do like me to go forward with that ..Can you please tell me how you disassembled and assembled it ?
Looking forward to you reply

Yes exactly right.. I found out via my EM that the system board i bought is currently locked to Cincinnati Bell Wireless(CBW).. Because of this it will not accept my T-Mobile Sim or At&T.. The good thing about this is that you will get a new Service Tag, IMEI and E Service number Sticker with the system board.. This information will be blank as if you purchased a new phone. So all you have to do is call Dell Mobility Support.. They are gonna ask you for this info then ask for a copy of your Purchase invoice as proof.. When you send them this information they will register then new system board which is an entirely new phone to your name and give you the Unlock/Pin code to Bypass your sim error.. I havent messed around with tango much so i dont know the new features yet.. Hope this helps..
Can you check what the rom version is?
I havnt heard of a Cbell locked VP before (it's possible I merely overlooked this though)
It's EM -> Phone Information -> SW version.
I assume it'll be something like
Code:
2250.1800.7720.219
GLEOS2A421934_?
CBW-US

You see that's the problem for me ..I'm from India and Dell representatives don't know a thing about this phone(they don't even know if this phone was ever launched in the market)..And at the same time I can't call the US helpline(as they would advice me to call the indian helpline;which is of no use..)..So even if I get this phone assembled I won't be able to make calls with it..(Unless I know someone in the US)
Yes it was CBW-US.. and it was locked to that network.. i called Dell and you are right they dont know anything about anything.. i waited on the phone for hours and didnt get any good news from they just loop holes.. But i found this guy that knew everything about the Dell Venue pro, sent him my imei and the network it was locked to and got the phone unlocked, i only paid 16$ on ebay and he's located in china where the phone was manufactured so i gave him my trust and it came through.. He unlocked the phone in literally 10mins.. i've been using it Flawless ever since..

Hey you guys, make sure to give "[email protected]" a try first with the unlocking (search the forum for more details). I've unlocked at least 4 DVPs and for the last two (very recent), I don't recall even mentioning it was locked to TMO. I think now that the DVP has hit EOL, Dell doesn't care too much about finding out who the original owner is (they asked for the first couple I tried unlocking, but I never actually mentioned it as I got them used and I don't even know the owners) or the other specifics. Just give them a try first since well... it's free! If it's a no go, go with what MK suggested?
A tip I think might help is to mention you're using it for business and will be leaving the country shortly. I also brought up how much I liked the phone

[email protected] wont help you because the system board you get from ebay will be unregistered.. I tried and got a response saying the phone is blank(unregistered) in their system so i need to call the mobility support to register the phone then reply with the phone info.. I called Mobility but theyre so unprofessional, i had to call back 5 times to get with someone who actually knows what they were talking about and still didnt get the phone registered as theyre telling me i had to wait 2-3 days and some run around.. so i met this chinese guy who said he knew how to unlock it in 10min, i sent him the paypal $16 and phone was unlocked right after.. Dell Support sucks.
