What experiences have users had with different browsers using a proxy and WiFi ? The only one I can get to work is SkyFire. Others, such as IEm, Opera mobile and mobile beta, Fennec, NetFront all appear to bypass the proxy settings - unless I am doing something wrong with my settings. If anyone has had success using these and/or other browsers through WiFi and a proxy, please advise how you set up the proxy.

i just downloaded the newest skyfire and i tried to run it but i cant connect..could this be kuz im using the proxy "hack" isthere any way to get around this and use skyfire with the proxy settings i have now???
How often have you tried connecting? And do other programs that use the internet still work?
From what I understand you cannot connect to Skyfire via the tzones proxy because skyfire itself acts like a proxy. From my research on the subject, there is no way around it. It is much like trying to remote desktop using the tzones proxy, it just doesn't work.
yeah ive tried too but Skyfire doesnt work w/ the proxy, opera mini however does
Hi,
I sometimes have to use a proxy, since the setting itself in WM is buggy I've tried to use a proxy with the Opera settings, wich works fine.
But everytime I close Opera these settings get lost...
In the new beta I don't get any Internetconection, so I was not able to try this.
In Fennec the Proxy setting doesn't seem to work :-(
Is the a plugin or something for Opera to easy switch proxy on and of ore something?

strange I have no problem using proxy setting in my HD,
you can try adding the configuration lines in the ini file itself, opera.ini...
I'll try
the no connection problem with the new Opera beta may be caused by the same problem with causes the windows update or some other programs do not connect to the internet until I use a 3G connection instead of WLAN, maybe this is caused by bad branding or something like this....

For all the archos users who need proxy settings.
Archos implemented proxy settings in their latest firmware. But to our disappointment its not working...
The proxy setting can not be enabled...
Here is a temporary alternative.
Install the latest Fennec (firefox) browser for Android. You can find it at the mozilla website.
Then google the addon mobile proxy for firefox android.
You'll need the proxy mobile addon (. xpi) and open it using the Fennec browser.
Fennec will ask you to allow installation of the addon. Allow it then you will have an addon in your fennec browser
that allows you to put a proxy setting.
Reminder use the fennec browser to click on the xpi file so that it will ask you if you want to install.
Thats it! you can now set a proxy server in you fennec browser (only) so that you can surf the other web through fennec.
I' ve been using it and everything is working fine with me.
Hope this helps those who need proxy settings. to surf the web.

Type opera:config in the address bar. The only question I have is what version of opera mobile will run on an Archos 70? Every time I try it just goes to a black screen and freezes.
I can't get Opera mobile working on the A70IT. Opera Mini works fine, but I would love to try Opera Mobile.
I use wifi proxy on my company, I can get my browser work by setting the proxy server but market, email etc., dont work.
I tried using different apps in market place but non fixed it.
Is there anyway to fix this issue?
Thanks
