how to let my polaris totally lost without physical damage??

lol, the camera is Diamond.
Ok, i think this could be just go to bootloader and flash once again for the Cruise, and it should be ok after a good flashing.

If you want to totally brick (TOTALLY) , just flash a radio from Diamond.
WATCHOUT !!! No key combination - no battery tricks , will powerup your polaris....
DO NOT TRY this procedure , except for warranty reasons ....

Flash a Diamond Radio to a Polaris unit?
AFAIK the Radio includes part of the Bootloader. I CANNOT imagine that a Diamond Radio would fix a stuck Polaris unit. But whatever...
I'd recommend discovery531's way of reflashing any other - preferably an original HTC - ROM.

There was a solution provided for that solved your problem. Maybe this time there is also a solution, maybe you might want to ask for one?
I my opinion bricking your phone on purpose is a bad idea. You risk your actions will be discovered and used against you.

This method totally bricks your polaris. it wouldn't fix anything ....

Man, read what others are writing. There are two versions of Touch GSM. Them both look identical, the only way to check is it an Elf or Elfin is to check how much RAM it has. 64 MB = Elf, 128 MB = Elfin.

From what I've read its an Elfin - with 256 Rom/128 Ram

Sorry for diverting from the original topic but I was offered this on an upgrade but it looks a bit feminine (and the operator doesn't do the black one. Does anyone know if the case can be changed to a black one and how difficult/easy it is.

128/256 is Elfin
64/128 is Elf
dsixda's Device Info should check it too.

Did you read my post? I asked what the TB Needle is!
The TB Needle is either one of them and I wanna know if the violet Touch is an Elf OR (!!!!) an Elfin!

Click on More (bottom left option).
Click on any Contact that you wan't to upload to Facebook.

Well, this is a bit puzzling, I have got this ROM (1.48.405.2 + Radio 2.06.51.07) on brand new, sealed HD2 (from Virgin UK). All the details are exactly like on the screen above.
How is this possible? New batch?

I'd assume since we've all tested it here... HTC have given the green light to ship

I found this puzzling too, I have a recent Virgin HD2 and I have downloaded the updates to it from the HTC website. EXCEPT the ROM upgrade, as when I downloaded that it appeared from the downloaded file name that the Protocol and Radio Versions I have on my recent Virgin HD2 are already newer than thoses shown on the downloaded ROM upgrade.
My HD2 software information is exactly the same as posted above.
Please could someone clarify, am I supposed to install the ROM upgrade from the HTC site please, I couldnt work out whether the instructions were for someone already having 1.48.405.2, which I have or whether the download upgrades from that. Thx.

I assume that the virgin rom contains most of the hotfixes preapplied. Hotfix 0091217 contains this radio upgrade.

Yeah, mystery solved, 'SIM contacts fix' is in fact radio update to 2.06.51.07
Since HTC has became "quietly brilliant" they are completely rubbish when it comes to inform what exactly all these updates does.. There is only marketing blabbing like "everything was brilliant and now is going to be ever more brilliant"..

This ROM is very fast and stable!

Thanks for the replies I totally agree its confusing, I know for a fact that the stock virgin ROM didnt incluse the pink camera update as that was a problem i fixed from HTC's site with noticeanle improvement. So it looks like some have been applied and some not, thanks for the ifo on the radio, does anyone know if the HTC protocol is included in Virgins ROM as thats a different number to the number on the HT website download as mentioned above. Thx

Updated to Stock Manila 2.5

Hey, I've just update my ROM form the HTC website. Now I've got Manila 2.5 and just searching thru the new menu and finding some things. I've noticed that you can't change your sms notification sound in Manila. But with some searching I found it a Windows menu
The thing that bother me the most is that I miss the arrow in the right top screen that gives a view of all running programs. Is there a kind of way to get it back?

You don't read anything about the WM version here, it's called: ROM Upgrade for HTC Touch Diamond2 Releasedate: 2010-03-18
For the first WM 6.5 upgrade it's called: Windows Mobile® 6.5 Professional Upgrade - HTC Touch Diamond2 Releasedate: 2009-11-03
Or is it only a manila update? (if that is possible).
EDIT: Just update to ROM version 2.53.404.3 and about to find out what's different.

Btw did you guys got trouble with synchronising hotmail? I use @msn.com and I can't get it intergraded into HTC Sense.

sorry can't help you there sometimes i use Windows Live via StartMenu but i hate that all the email-adresses come in to my adressbook when you connect
