I remember there was this WM6 tweak app [AdvancedConfigurationTool] which you could modify a lot of options and one of them was to turn on/off the keyboard backlight on slide out.
It's roaming somewhere on these forums. Don't ask me to search for it for you.

Symbols in Hermes Keyboard Got mixed up? help!!

Hi guys! It's my first time to post here. I,ve got a problem with regards to My Hermes Softbank X01HT with a DOPOD Asia WWE ROM. The symbols in my sliding keyboard got mixed up. Like when I press the @ symbol the ? appears, when I press ! in my sliding keyboard the @ appears, press ? the - symbol appears and so on and so forth. I tried to tweak the registry using the method in the "Known Issues of Hermes Thread" to no avail. Is there a solution to this problem? or this is a harware issue? Could you help me please!!! Thanks in anticipation of your help.
I have this same problem. Did you resolve it yet???
Theres a keyboard fix somewhere around here... you just gotta look for it.. or find the registry setting to revert your keyboard back to normal.
Its in the wiki
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Hermes_Registry
When applying a non-cingular ROM to an 8525 its default keyboard is different than the 8525.

[Q] How to disable power on device when sliding keyboard?

Hi there,
Anybody found a reg tweak (or cab) to disable the power on when you slide out the keyboard? I tried the tweak of HTC's Raphael (and Kaiser) but it did not work..
I want to be able to slide the keyboard (e.g. in my pocket) without losing battery power..
If anybody knows the trick, please post the solution. Thanks in advance!

What exactly do you mean by sliding the keyboard out without losing power?
The question is, i believe, how to prevent the device from waking up when the keyboard slides open?
And that i would like to know also if it's possible. I know you can do it on the Touch Pro by moding the registry.

ok, now I understand what it meant.... But, just out of curiosity, what's the purpose of sliding the keyboard in and out, if you're not intending to use the phone? (Just for admiring the craftmanship of the beautiful keyboard??? h.e.e.e..e. )
That's exactly what the question was. In a bag the phone could slide open. because the phone wakes up the battery drains faster. It was a reg key on the Touch Pro but that reg key didn't work on the Omnia.
For now it's not interesting for me anymore, because the Omnia was stolen last week, but I think other users may be interested in this feature.

I'm really sorry that your omnia was stolen. Didn't you activate the mobile tracker service? it could help you trying to get it back...
Mobile tracker wasn't set up yet, too bad, but thanks for the help.

Stop keyboard from popping up

Is there a way to stop the keyboard from popping up if there is an input field?
I've seen an HTC config which supports such a feature but is does not work on my qtek 2020 WM6.5. The tool runs, but the config can obviously not be applied.
thx a lot

Try this registry edit:
HKCU/controlpanel/sip/turnoffautodeploy Set this to 1
Well works. Somehow. Not for all programs but for some. Maybe some programs toggle the keyboard by themself?
Anyway thank your very much for your help.
