Iv'e searched the internet and found nothing.
Thank you.

Thank you.

bumpppppppppppppppppppp
please

Anyone can help me???
No one answer ):

I don't think that answer is available anywhere. I'll just tell you this, looking at the nokia's standby and talk time and the hd's standby and talktime, it seems that the HD would play maybe a good 2-6 more hours than the nokia time stated, but this all varies. It depends on how you use it (Wifi, phone, gps, etc) and your network..
P.S if you guys didn't know what he's talking about, he means battery life for play back of music. Like how some specs show standby time and talk time in battery specs.

Yeah, that's what im talking about.
It's similar to talk time like you said, but it's music time.
2-6 more? how much in total do you think? (Wifi off, blutooh off)
I guess you can't give me an answer because you haven't tested it yet, so i will check myself on my dad HD...
What about the same thing in Diamond?
Some Yeah.
It's similar to talk time, but it's music time.
2-6 more? how much in totall?
Let's say wifi off, blutooh off...
I guess you can't give me an answer because you haven't tested it yet, so i will check myself on my dad HD.
What about the same thing in diamond?
Some introduction:
I need a new cellular and a music player, and im considering these phones:
Nokia n97 - symbian
nokia 5800 - symbian
HTC TOUCH DIAMOND - WM
htc touch hd - WM
Samsung Onmia - WM
IPhone 3g - Apple OS
Iphone 3GS - Apple OS
I guess theres no phone equal to the quality of COWON I7/COWON D2/IPOD TOUCH.
Thank you.

Remember that the stated music playback time of the 5800 is with _all_ wireless connections off including your phone connection! Not available for calls nor can you make calls at the time. Also, it's with the screen off, at the lowest volume through a headset (speaker uses more power). So not very realistic usage for a phone if you ask me.
But if you switch off everything and do the same with the Touch HD I think you would get about 30~32 hours of musictime (screen off, headset and lowest volume). The battery has about the same capacity, 1320 mAh for the nokia, 1350 for the HTC. Symbian runs with a lower powerusage so thats why I think it would be a few hours less for the HTC.

Hey sicknick
I didn't thought about what your saying...
if i dont disable the calls while i listen to music, all other things is off ?
Only calls are on,with the loudest volume, earphones, not via the speaker?
How much do you think?
I dont know if i could get a great musicplayer with a cellular...maybe iphone would be good, i don't know

With a Touch HD I get 10% drain per hour playing music.
With a TD2 I get the same. I can go 9-10hrs playing music. That is with everything off except the phone (3G) but not being used. No bluetooth, gps or wi-fi.
Be warned however, that some people get very poor results from their battery life. There are many threads you can find about this.

Hey
Do you have also diamond? because i don't like the diamond2...
You can disable gps? it's affect the battery while igo isn't running?
Sound intresting if you have 2G and not 3G. i guess i will check it myself...
What do you mean that some people get very poor results from their battery life? why? it's the same device and battery...

GPS only comes on when an application is open that uses GPS otherwise it will be off. While some people have good battery life from various functions of the phone others report bad battery life. It does not seem to be consistent even though the device is the same and the battery same. No idea why.

And what about the diamond?
I will check myself on the HD;altough i guess its music player doesn't come close to COWON I7/COWON D2 ... ):

What I'm struggling to comprehend is why does this matter, if your going to get, for example purposes, 10 hours of playtime on the HD, why would you need more. Do you plan to sit and listen to music 10 hours straight? Surely not, even on holiday if you listen to music by the pool or in the evenings your talking no more than 10 hours required. Just bring a charger. No?
You stated that the nokia 5800 got 30+ hours. Who's going to listen to music for that amount of hours?

Your time of mp3 playback?

Some dudes in this forum mentioned that the time of their Magician's mp3 playback is as long as 16 hours with the screen turned off. However, mine is just 9 to 10 hours. I use Pocketmusic instead of WMP to play mp3. Is that the reason for the relatively short mp3 playback time?
Guys, what is your Magician's mp3 playback time in average? and do you have any tip about how to prolong the mp3 playback time? Thx in advance!!

My Jam uses almost 10% of its bat for each hour... which means 10 hours Max.. and I don't think it will last more than 9 hours, coz the thing locks it self to save power for the RAM...
but I have a question for you??
why do u need something more than 10 hours :?: :!:
I can't listen to music for more than 4 hours, and after that i have a headache
I use WMP and TCPMP to play music files.. most of them are wma.. some are mp3...
cheers mate
I think WMP is the most efficient when it comes to battery consumption because it uses less resources. TCPMP (BetaPlayer) is also good. I've also used PocketMusic, iMusic and PocketPlayer but now i'm satisfied with WMP because i use DSP to change the Audio Output and i now finally know how to get an Album picture showing . WMP has the best standard quality output in my opinion. If Microsoft included an EQ it would be perfect
Hi everyone,
Since this is a thread about playing music on our magicians, I thought i'd share my internet find.
I use these:- http://www.slicsound.com/
Your music WILL sound better, fuller and, as you can turn the volume all the way down and still hear it, your battery lasts longer!!
you get 3 pairs, small, medium, large in the pack and.. well! they are really cool!
oh.. and no one else can hear what you are listening to, so you wont annoy people on the bus/train etc!
happy reading
take care
dan
I use MortPlayer, because you can configure it the best way in my opinion. It doesn't use much battery but I would like to have some real numbers here as well. Did anyone make such a test?

Thx for info! My battery consumption of mp3 playback is similar to yours. I do not mind to have some differences of battery life between my Magican and others'. But 16 hours to 9 hours is like 78% better, which is a bit unaccpetable.
TCPMP is not bad but I mostly use it to play video files, since it does not look like a music player.... more importantly I like the pre-set EQ in pocketmusic.
I do not listen to MP3 continuously for more than 4 hours, as you said. But I fed up a bit by charging the battery everyday...

In a similar vein, I've been using a pair of Shure E2c sound isolating earphones. A consumer version of the earphones that musicians wear onstage they block out external noise and sound blooming marvellous.

SE X1 a true iPod replacement?

Hello Guys or should I say lucky X1 owners.
Please tell me if this is a true iPod replacement I am not comparing this to iPod but the reason is a follows.
I used to have Qtek S100 and after a little music being played on it gets hotter (very hot really) and battery lasts for very few hours (not a whole day). As being this windows mobile at its core I would like to know if X1 suffers the same problems? Please tell me if you can play long hours of audio tones???
Kind Regards
Abbas
Very fair question:
The Ipod is unique, but not perfect because the limitation from apple.
Just to mention 2 things:
*You can not get your music from any place you like, must be from itunes
* No stereo bluetooth
Xperia has a powerful battery 1500 mah specs call for up 10 hrs talking time,
and up 800 hrs standby. But How long just playing music, turning off
everything else?
Well the question is not about features or limitation of a product, the question is does a device do a job which is an end user intend to do.
Has any of the X1 owner litlary played 2/3 hours of continues music and what was the battery status? also was the phone back burning?

I got a good 12h of continuous playback in 1 charge. Pretty good comparing to my old W850i that had about 10h playback. And the back was not hot on the X1.

12 hours of CONTINUOUS music? I'm sorry, I have to call BS on this one. No way, no how, not in a million years.

...why?...
Actually I am seeing similar times. This however only when I shut off UMTS and dont do anything power-intensive (GPS, Wifi etc).
At the moment my battery is good enough for a 45 min TV episode, about 20 mins of GPRS/UMTS surfing (checking emails) and about 6-7 hours of music.
it works okay, but its no iPod. Just not snappy enough.
My power lasts for using and playback of two tv episodes (2x ~45 min) and still have over 50 % left. My old atom life was after the same by about 25 % battery left. 3G is allways on. So 10 h music playback with screen turned off is I think absolutely possible. The battery of the X1 is great, SE did a great job here!
How is the volume and bass with headphones on the Xperia?
Equaliser?
Can anyone confirm if there is a sound equaliser on X1?
i use my x1 instead of my ipod. the battery consumption is low (imo).
to boost my soundexperience i just installed the "SRS WOW HD" driver .cab.
unfortunatly i forgot my earplugs at my girlfriends place and have to wait till tomorrow to test it.

Why not?
From Touch HD's review on SlashGear - http://www.slashgear.com/htc-touch-hd-slashgear-review-part-2-0721942/
With continuous audio playback, the Touch HD lasted around fifteen hours before playback ended.

15 hours, taking in mind Xperia's smaller screen and bigger battery, 12 hours shouldn't be a problem...
I was gonna say the same, I get about 8 hours w/ BT Stereo on,and texting in the middle, along with a two or three quick 20 min calls on my Touch Pro.
Plus Sony has always been good with battery life, although not sure if I can say its Sonys or HTCs work this time around o_o.
The xperia makes as a nice ipod alternative I'm sure. but you need a hefty card to really make it ipod replaceable.

not yet, when the audiobooster from HD is working then there will be.
Unfortunately SRS WOW HD doesn't work here.
Sounds brilliant if you use CorePlayer IMO.
Also with 8GB cards as cheap as £12.99 I should be able to fit a decent amount of music on it. Or at a push 16GB cards are around £40.
I never planned to use my X1 for music but it blows my Sony Walkman MP3 player out of the water, and that was the best quality I had heard on an MP3 player.
The catch is even CorePlayer is not exactly the best interface for choosing your tracks. Its also a bit crap that you can't listen to the radio and do something else, as the radio is only available via one of the panels and so turns off when you try to get into something else.

The Radio player only stops when you change panels. I've managed to read SMS and browser the internet at the same time as listening to Radio 4.

Hi, its maybe just me, you said Radio player stops when you change panels but then how you managed to listen the read SMS and browser while listening the Radio 4??? I believe to read SMS and browse you have to change the panel don't you?
Whilst in the Radio panel you have the two softkeys / touch screen to open Contacts or Web and at the top left you have Start and top right you have the task man to switch to different apps.
Currently have some random local station and the BBC website running.

After reading all posts: let's try to make a sum

At Christmas I will receive my HTC Touch HD and this is why I have started reading all the Blackstone thread since a month.
That is what I understand so far(correct me if I am wrong):
-Hardware: big screen,a bit less contrast than Diamond, but impressive resolution and really (probably for the first time) user-friendly device
-Battery: better than Diamond's one..up to 2 days of normal use
-Video performance: still a lot of work, but coreplayer works fine with low size movies or videos. At the moment there is no access to the internal GPU and only WMP can play smooth .mp4...big hopes for the future. People disappointed due to high hardware capability not used
-Audio performance: quality comparable to Ipod/Iphone, but TF3d interface has still some bugs to be fixed..however, a lot of 3rd software to choose the software we like most ( S2P for example)
-Camera performance: still a bit confused, it seems to be a "standard" 5mp compared to the level of other devices (nokia or sony-ericsson)...however there is no thread that show exactly the power of this camera with lot of pictures in different environments
-Navigation GPS: few bugs to be fixed, but we can use igo8, Navigon 7 and Tomtom 7 in high resolution
-Customization: like the other wm..you can do really what you want (change today, apply tons of software, etc etc)..there are no limits so far, except the hardware's ones.
-Games: let's say that the TOUCH HD is more a "business device" with media specifics...but still far from Iphone games. Let's hope in the future like for the video performance.
-Development: HSPL not yet released (after we would have a huge choice of ROMs!!!..)...hopefully a christmas gift

That astonishes me. I never get more than about a day with only sending SMS and nothing else. Whoever comes up to two days please tell me (and perhaps others) how to achieve that. I even stopped active sync and used the trick (empty active sync server) to not let it start automatically. Is there anything (perhaps obvious for others) I missed?
I think you just about summed it up.
It is a really nice device with lots more potential.
I'm sure you won't be disappointed this christmas!!
How do you stop the activesync?
well, im looking for a better solution on the high quality video playback capability lol
something wrong

there's probably something wrong with your device cause i always get over a day and a half at least i mean have a look this has been covered several times snd most members appear to agree that the battery has improved especially in comparison to the kaiser and diamond both very loved handsets
I must confirm, marvi0 is right. The battery should last for over a day to two days when the device is sporadicaly used.
What I see as potentional problems could be these:
1) bad radio version (i remember these issues on HTC Hima with old ROMs, they could drain battery twice fast than usual).
2) some creepy app, that takes too much CPU use. Remember that the more the CPU is used, the more batt is spend. The power-off works that way: it not only turns off screen, it also sends windows to some sort of standby mode, when most of the apps are suspended. But - if some app could not get to this state, it runs on full throttle on the background. I remember such issue with playing with WM5 screensaver and MortScripts. Check your taskbar, what is running there.
My battery now lasts up to 5 x days max if I use Tweak HD suggested settings throughout! This is an excellent App. As per the camera I wish this could be fixed / replaced with something like I originally used on my Trinity since the adaptive zoom/focus causes rapid movement to alwas go blurred, whilst static images or landscapes are fine.
Battery Last 1 n half day
After lots of phone calls, average sms and few songs...Battery Last 1 n half day...
Which is fine for me
max i got from the battery was 3 days only doing a couple of calls and some sms, i don't use any massive tf3d personalization only changed the background image, installed s2u2, crystal clock and optimized the phone cache, but usualy it's around 1 and half, 2 days
My battery went from 100% to 48% in the space of about 8 hours on Sunday as I was doing lots of stuff on it, trying to get apps working, trying things out, installing, uninstalling etc.
I then had the phone on standby all night (was 48% before bed) and it has been on standby most of today with 1 phone call and a bit of video and calculator, and still on 48%
Okay, I now got my battery life up to about two days with some telephony and SMS and bluetooth always turned on by switching of the light sensor and using a fixed setting of two bars for the light when using battery. This is enough (at least for me) to see everything well on the device in every lighting condition.

I'm surprised with your short battery life. I used it almost non-stop and still had 50% left a day later. I find the battery life of HD amazingly good. However, I did took the pain to charge it properly before starting to use it. Although the manual said we need only 3 hours to charge it, I kept unplugging the power when the charge indicator turned green, then plug it in again. I kept repeating this process for about 2 hours after it first turned green. This might have something to do with the long battery life I'm getting, perhaps.

Usage Profile vs ROM Version vs Battery Life

Hi Friends,
I'm a long time reader of these boards, but I don't post too much, because I don't have the knowledge to share cause unfortunately I don't have the time to invest on cooking ROMs, but I'm pretty curious about It and I've been reading about It.
First and Foremost I would like to Thank Daniel for Cooking the amazing Onyx Roms, which is what I use now on my ELFin.
I'm using Onyx 5.0.1 cause the Betas 48 and 49 don't look fine to me.... since Beta 48 the "+" buttons are bigger. I know It's for for Finger Friendly thing, but the rest of the Windows 6.5 UI still doesnt match this change and Beta 49's WM Build has a weird Bug with the Battery Display on the Today Screen where U have to double click the Clock to see the Battery again, so I stick with 5.0.1.
But aside these details, the main purpose of this post is another thing...
With Onyx 5.0.1/WinMo 6.5, I changed the way I use the phone... now I have an Unlimited Internet Plan from my Operator and I'm now Syncing all the stuff with my company's Exchange Server... that beign said I have no comparison in the past case about Battery consumption, and I really wouldn't like to Flash back to 6.1 or 6.0 and have to reconfigure everything(It's a damn lot to reconfigure). So I'm asking you guys how well are your phones doing with WnMo6.5 against mine.
Here's my Daily Usage Profile:
- I hear around 3 Hours of MP3 Daily during the Home->Work->Home Tragetory using a Bluetooth Phone.
- I Sync E-Mails from the company "as arrive" on ActiveSync during business hours
- I barely talk on the phone... really... almost NEVER.
- I Send around 200 SMS/month
At 8:00AM my Battery is at 100%... at 10:00AM It's already 86%... by the end of afternoon It's around 15%... I have to Recharge the battery every night. Does this seem pretty bad battery life for U guys? How are your Battery usage?
Ah! BTW I'm using Radio 3.34.90 and Flashed HSPL 3.10 into my Phone. ROM Version is Onyx 5.0.1.
Thanks to Everyone, specially DSIXDA for cooking the Onyx ROMs and the other Cooks putting their efforts into keeping the ELF Generation alive!
using bluetooth to hear MP3 for 2 hours really sucks up the battery compared to a wired heads ones I can say it is a good ROM you have there... try using a wired headset to hear your MP3 and you can see a big difference on your battery life
Yeah thanks for the tip... I now Turn off Bluetooth as soon as I stop playing MP3 (the Wired USB Phones from HTC are horrible compared to the Motorola S9), so I'm stick with this while Turning Off BT when not used.
I also enabled all the Power Save options on the Advanced Config Tool and darkened the Backlight a bit while using the Battery.
If U can think of anything else that could increase Battery Life, let me know.

How long is SGS able to play mp3?

Hey,
I am thinking about this phone but I have limited budged. Originally I wanted to buy S Omnia II and ipod nano for mp3. Now I discovered this phone which really get me!!! How long can play mp3?
do you mean how long the battery last?
if you play it with wired plug headset it will last you way longer than using Stereo Bluetooth
but even using Stereo Bluetooth, the headset itself will run out of battery before you phone does.
most good Stereo Bluetooth headsets can only last for aprox 6 hours
if you just go by normal wired headset, you can go on almost forever, assuming you don't use 3G / WiFi and keep the screen off when you are listening to MP3
by the way SGS i9000 has a build in FM radio! it's perfect for me
yes, I mean with wired plug...ipod is able to play music about 24 hrs so I want some comparsion with SGS (w/o any other work (with turned off display etc.))
It will be hard to give a definitive answer as it will depend on things like background syncing, what apps you have installed (task managers, widgets, things like that) and what equaliser you have enabled.
Yesterday I went to an airshow, my son played Asphalt 5 for 2 hours in the car, I took about 10 minutes of HD video, checked my email, made a few calls, sent a few texts and had 36% battery when I got home 10 hours later. If you didn't use the screen at all, and maybe had a task manager to kill anything that decided to fire up on it's own (email, market, etc) you could probably get 15+ hours use out of it easily.
I like music, its a thing of mine that I want the best, I have to say I am bit shocked at the player on this phone, its really really good, it is far better than any other phone I have used and the amazing thing I found is that it plays flac files straight out of the box, so get some good phones and you will be very happy...I use Shure 530 and they are great but you need to make sure that your recordings are a good to get the most out of them.
While it's a good thing that iPod can play music non stop for 24 hours with one charge, it should not IMO becomes the yardstick for determining the acceptability of the lesser music player.
I think the fact SGS has a removable battery is another factor you should consider.
If anything, it won't be the battery life that disappoint you. It may be the player itself. If you want a really really good music player, stick with iPod. But remember, it is not a smartphone with 4 inch beautiful screen, with great GPU (if you're also into games especially).
