stop lying kid.. you know that you're not gonna "look harder" next time..... you are not forgiven..... SEARCH
i looked for like 20 minutes, i searched in the forums for tmobile usa hd2 and even the leo forums, and i even checked youtube and google out and found nothing, but believe what you want.

This will not put the movies back on your SD card if you happen to have erased them by mistake. This will only put the shortcut back to allow you to have a quicklink to the movies.
Damn so no more transformers or is there another way?

The only legal way is to return it to T-mobile and have it replaced. Not real sure what that would take but that is the only "legal" way to do it.
Ok and what do think of the evo rom?
What do you mean what do I think about it? To tell the truth I am not following it much as It will most likely be a long time till Android can run on the HD 2 perfectly and by then I will have gotten an Android phone. I am waiting mostly on Cookies next mode and Max Sense has me waiting for that most of all
See i bearly know how to download this stuff. I just saw the evo rom oon youtube but But what do you think is the best rom for my htc hd2?

Well the best rom is a personal choice really, It really depends on what you like in your roms and what you dont. The best advise I can give you on that is to look at a few and then nerrow it down to the 2 you like the look of the most and then flash the first and run it for a few days, then flash the other one and run that and see what you like the best. Roms are like addiction really once you flash your first couple you will be waiting on the next update to see what your fav chef has cooked up. Just be careful when you flash a rom and make sure it says it works for the US T-Mobile or you are not gonna be very happy at all
ok thanks sir!

Keep in mind that discussion of gray area legal ways of obtaining the movies isnt allowed on here. With that said I personally see no legal issue with obtaining the movies via torrent if you've purchased an HD2 and the movie files you are obtaining are bit for bit the exact same files that came on the SD card.
Have fun explaining that to the judge if you get busted torrenting them though
You aught to be able to goto a tmobile store and see if they can copy the stock contents from an HD2 card there in the store, or just do an even trade blank card for stock card, if you have your HD2 there with you as proof you've purchased one.
It would have been wise of HTC/TMO to have included a mini DVD in the box with the stock SD card contents. I believe the stock contents would have fit on a dual layer mini-dvd and a mini dvd would have fit in the box. at bulk production rates the mini-dvds would have probably been like 10-20 cents each
I've been looking for answers for a while now, but can't come up with anything...
Every MMS that is sent or received from my phone has all the files in it renamed ie: imagejpeg_3 or text_2 or whatnot. Has anyone ever come across this before? And if so, how do i stop it?
Oh, it is a sprint branded Snap, currently running the stock rom. I've also tried ookba's 3vo but got the same issue
Ouch. 150 people, and no one even has a suggestion? Oh well, I figured it was something i would have to live with anyway

Yeah I've noticed this forum isn't exactly the most active too...lol. I've asked ?? and got no answer and well over 100 something views.
I figure either it's a new problem and no one's run into it or they're busy with other stuff...lol.
Since I'm tenacious by nature usually I end up solving my own issues anyways...lol.
I can't help you with your prob but I can sympathize with ya!
Take care and I hope ya figure it out.
Well, there's something to be said for self-reliance and learning new things as you go I'm still playing with it, and hopefully i figure it out eventually lol

I completely agree, but when one needs help usually it's because they're at their witt's end...lol. I myself managed to hack the .xml and .cpr files for the t-mo dash 3g's "T-Mobile default" panel homescreen without help. Since I have a background in skinning I had an idea of what to look for with the xml tags, but if you're a beginner it's not easy to locate things if you don't know what to look for.
What I want is to figure out a way to design my own system wide skins for winmo 6.5 standard. I have all the skinning and graphics knowledge but only minimal coding skills. Even if there were a way to reverse engineer a skin I'd do it if someone would be willing to guide me in the right direction. I'll prolly post a help thread asking about it. dunno if it'd be a waste of time or not so....
Ok guys, I got my hands on an OTA and I'm gonna try to pick it apart tonight when I get home from work. Here's what I'm asking:
1. What do you want in it? I plan on modding it and trying to force it onto mine to test it, so I wanna know what you guys want.
2. What do you want removed? I know there is some bloat, Do you still want it or do you want me to make 2, 1 with and 1 without?
3. What do you want as standard? Pdf reader, file manager, custom browser, etc.
The sooner you guys tell me the more work I'll put into it.
I'll try to have a beta posted by the middle of next month, it may take longer as I'm no expert in coding even though windows is a hell of a lot easier.
Working registry editor. Interop-unlock.
Other tweaks will come after those I guess.

The registry will already be changed for interop. Thats a standard.
I dunno if that's in your possibility but the camera performance in pictures is awfully horrible. It's been addressed that's a software problem, can it be fixed?

I've seen this posted. One thing many don't say cause they don't wanna get hopes up is everything can be fixed. It just takes some time.

I take that for a maybe. If you manage to do what your trying to do consider making a "Donate" button. Be careful anyway others have bricked their devices with no-access to the bootloader (so no turning back).

Means eventually, over time yes its achievable. At this very moment, no, but in the future yes it can be fixed.
Until access to the bootloader can be obtained without consequence, I'm leaving it as is.
I guess getting it unlocked is the biggest thing. Once we can put WP7 Root Tools in we can use the SDK to deploy whatever XAP's we want. Won't need a registry editor since it (WP7 RT) already has one and a file browser. Good luck, we're all counting on you.
A working compass driver.
Ok, so yeah... my phone is now a paperweight. Can't turn it on, can't connect to my pc, cant do anything. A tad bit pissed now. The only thing that kinda makes me not care is that it was free but on the downside in my drunken stupor I broke my computer... So yeah. Really mad at that fact. So, I'm sitting at work bored out of my mind... Gotta find a replacement phone quickly. So I guess I'm out... Sorry Guys. Glad I messed up my phone and not someone elses.
Move my post if you feel the need. I hate picking forums. Anyways. I have a XPRT from boost mobile running android 2.3.5 and I have been working for a few days to no avail in any vulnerabilities to rooting. Searching for users with same model and objective?

Anybody? Seriously?
Almost 300 views and no responses? Anyone have the same model and want to collaborate?
I would really like to see some type of update this is crazy that no one has done anything with this system yet.

There is currently no way to root the Boost Mobile version of the XPRT at the moment. I looked around and tried the .zip file from sd and it bricked. I have talked to numerous people who tried the Sprint .SBF which bricked the system to. Right now you will just have to sit back and wait and see if someone comes up with something. Sorry for the bad news.

Well that sucks ._. I do believe that a heavy amount of editing was done to the software and firmware by Boost. But this isn't bad news. Its actually a huge relief that finally I've gotten some feedback. We need a small community of people wishing to root this phone. Developer or not.

Well I would love to just get a stock sbf so I can get mine working again lol.
Yes, rooting the boost version would be great, they just have so many restrictions on the phone. No hotspot, tethering is very limited, Hoping someone will find something soon.

This is actually my first Motorola phone. Lol. I normally used HTCs beforehand. Would you be so kind as to explain what an SBF is and where they come from?
An SBF ( SYSTEM BOOT FILE) file from what I gather is the original Image of the Phone. It's kind of like if you are running a windows computer you need a Windows image to run the operating system. The same is true for a cell phone. The only place to get them is have them leaked from Motorola Techs. Each tech has different level access to be able to work on your phone.
A normal tech has Level 1 and Level 2 access which can look at your phone and figure out what is wrong. The "head Motorola Techs" have Level 3 and Level 4 access and they are the ones who actually can pull the files ( SBF ) and do the reflashing and other needed services.
This may not be totally accurate but it is what I have put together from the massive amount of research and reading I have done on these phones. If anyone has anything to add or correct please do because I don't want to give bad information. =/
I have currently been browsing around a lot, and trying to figure out this development thing. I am also reading currently on how the "rooting" process is achieved on phones. I have a moderate amount experience on linux machines so the reading is going fairly easy. Hopefully we can get some real DEVS in here to help us out.
That's a nice amount of research. I appreciate that. And android is linux. So you may find some nice similarities. I personally am much more experienced on the hardware side of the computer world ._. I need to brush up on my coding...and from what I assume. Root is achieved by exploiting the kernel in order to pretty much shove Busybox into the root filesystem. The Su binary. And the Superuser app.
From what I understand YES, that is exactly how it is done.
But getting permission is the challenge.

Anyone know of a way to get the drivers and stuff to work on a linux machine? I just can't seem to find anything.
What I don't understand is the sbf file is like a backup of everything on the phone, if they can put it there, there has to be some way of pulling it off. I would like to know and understand why we can't pull the .sbf file off of the phone it's self? Any developers out there give me a shout and fill me in?
Well what an sbf seems to be basically a zip encoded specially for Motorola devices. I don't think its really possible to get it off without a factory reset and a custom recovery or bootloader.

That is what I was wondering about. Thanks.
I find it odd how carriers feel they need to go so far to prevent rooting, I find it wrong.
This is atleast my perspective. I go out to buy lets say a computer from best buy. I have the right to change anything on the computer, hardware and software.
Even mircosoft lets you modify (they just don't want you stealing it)
Their os and have built in applications to do so.
So why when I buy a phone and I can't do it. All of it is my property, Hard/software. If I brick it it'll bee my fault. Meaning I'll have to buy another one.

You cant root the Sprint Gingerbread (Leaked version) and the Boost as well. I tried lots of tools, but nothing.
Just to let you guys know I'm still working on rooms and things for the j7. All of my spare free time I'm still developing, but in this time of year there is not much free time. It is a busy the next thing you see will be something like lineage or something.
If anyone would like to help I could always use it. Porting rooms for our device is quite easy. Sometimes they will port with only 3 files copied. I can help anyone along that wants to learn. Maybe we can get them out faster.

I have some free time ... not sure how long, but I am between jobs now and having hard time finding a good one. PM if you want some help. I have never ported but I have been programming for 25 years (mostly C+) and pure assembly back in the 80's) I have been rooting my phones for 10 years

All i really know is how to convert TWRP backups to a flashable zip. Thats how i distributed my first rom. I would really love to learn and help.
Nothing to it. Unzip a file. Copy some files in, compare and replace some files. edit few lines in a configuration file. Zip it back up and good to go. Sometimes you have to make a tweak here or there as there are differences in the rom source. No sweat. It's the rezipping, copying to phone(my USB is slow). Installing. Flashing. Testing. These things are what takes so long. Because if you have to fix a bug. You have to fix, rezip, blah blah all over again. But I pretty much can get it right most of the time now. For aeshetics, I don't change the installers from the source. So if I forget to change a line in a display from a510 to. J700t. I have to change it, zip it, blahh blah. Oh now I broke it because I forgot to add the colon for the code tag. Repeat. Lol. I am however extremely ADHD and absent minded. Someone more organized can probably do it more fluidly. I can however. Show you how to do it. ?
I'll reply back.
Cool... sounds easy just time consuming. I will help if you like, you only have to tell me 1 time what I need to do. I am also ADHD and I have almost a photographic memory...really a pain in the ass sometimes, but other times not so bad
Cheers
I am not ADHD but do not have experience. Lol
So idk how much of a problem that is. But, I have plenty of free time. So if anyone is willing to help me I would be totally grateful.
Ok I recorded I vid of myself porting a rom from download to booted the j7 and it boots and everything works. So when I get home I'll edit and get it uploaded and it should get you started.
Sounds like a plan .

Ok great. Im finishing up this video and uploading some resources for you guys. This first one is pretty simple since the port is close to ours, but it's pretty much the same process for anything. I'll do a harder one also. Im working on device tree also this weekend so hopefully a good progress.
Ok hopefully I'll have this vid up within a couple of hours. You'll need a copy of our STOCK nougat firmware rom. Prefereably in zip format. There is a couple in our forum i think , or if you need one let me know. I have one uploaded somewhere and I'll find a link
