This might be the worse week in phones I have ever had. I download Skype before, why did it do this?
Someone please help me. I am on MR1. Thanks guys.
edit: What just dialing *228 and 1 solve this issue?
In ESPT under M.IP Default Profile - I have weird characters in HA Shared Secteet and AA Shared Secret. Are these suppose to be blank?
edit: made them blank still nothing
edit: now its working but really slow. Maybe its on Verizon's end?
edit: Now its lost again. wtf...
Call verizon for a dmu reset. Also force a 1x connection go to a basement somewhere. The AA and ha key you deleted only come in a 1x connection. By the way you shouldn't have deleted them. Can you even make calls now? If not you will have to be authenticated on there system.
Yes I can still make calls. I also saved both of those keys so I can but them back in.
Crap it didn't save the word doc awesome. I am just not thinking today. Is there anyway to get that back (not the word doc but what I deleted)?
Nope they are gone. So you need to have a dmu reset and force a 1x connection by placing a call and they should come back.
Yikes ok. This is what I get for being impatient. Going to call Verizon now... Thanks for your help.
Ok verizon dude did it. looked like it worked at least with 1X but then I lost it. He did say there are tons of outages today so I guess it was coincident that I downloaded skype. There is no time when they will all be fixed. He said they have tons of tickets about this issue.
edit: looks like the ha aaa have not been changed unfortunetly. will this give me problems in the future? should I have told the verizon guy i did this. didn't want him to know we know how to get into it.
edit: Sorry for the bad typing. It seems to be back up. I went back to see if the entries have changed and they have! Awesome again thanks for your help! Now I am paranoid to download skype even though I know it was not the cause lol.
edit: internet down again. come on verizon fix it! nevermind back. Surprised i am the only verizon user noticing this today.

i swapped out my phone today in a tmobile store due to screen issues. my old phone had rc33 on it - the new one didn't.
in my infinite wisdom i decided to download and flash it myself. after doing so i didn't have any data connection - it just kept saying connecting. no edge or 3g.
in an attempt to fix that i flashed it again with rc33 - same thing, no data connection. i thought i'd do a hard reset just to see if that would help - now i can't do anything. when i try to login to my gmail account after starting the phone it can't because i don't have a data connection.
help? i'm not picky... i'll go back to rc30 or whatever just as long as i can get the damn thing working again.

Hey it's cool. Just FYI for future reference.
ALWAYS read the newest posts and use the search button. If you ask a common question to answers that are given on here several times (ie "How do I get root?") you will get flamed.
And before you reflash your phone for a tech issue like this research it on this forum. Chances are your question has already been asked and answered so you don't have to wait for a reply. If you don't see anything here... call T-Mo from a land line and ask for tech support.
Welcome to XDA-Developers!
yes i did a search =) and i turned up nothing... plenty of people with the problem, but no one with any answers. this has been going on since i got the phone.
\ no wifi is not on,, i did the updates when stock, im now running fresh 1.1 and problem has not changed. i get the text (in both messages and handsent) but all there is, is a box to press to download. \
doing so does nothing but gives me an -unable to download- message.
any help would be uber great. thanks so much in advance
is it safe to try updating firmware again now that i have fresh 1.1 on there?

Sounds to me like you have a data issue of some kind. The stock SMS app is not very good. I have never heard of this issue though.
Call sprint and tell them that you cannot recieve MMS and they can reset stuff on their side. I have had to do that because I wasn't getting SMS, they put me on hold for a few minutes reset it, then theyll send you a test message that should work.

My friend has/had this same problem. I sent him some pictures once and same thing happened; no one has sent him a MMS since, so I don't know if it's still an issue.
Anyway if I were you I would contact Sprint Customer care.

most likely your account needs to be re-provisioned
Im having the same problem and Sprint seems to know nothing about it. I have spoken to customer service numerous times about this and even brought it in to the store. The only thing they suggest is a factory reset. I have tried that yet as I dont think that will fix the problem.
ya they tell me on the phone "lets do a hard restart, that fixes everything".. but i havnt done it because i dont want to mess up my root and rom, and i dont even know what will happen.
ok so they tried doing the reprovision today (i actually got some one who new what they were talking about) and it didnt work.
the only step left is a hard restart. will this affect fresh 1.1 or root in any way?
Hello,
Lately I have been unable to send or receive text messages that contain pictures or videos. The error message is always the same "National access coverage not available."
I called Verizon, on Thursday of last week (1-13), and the technician was unable to figure out the problem. He escalated it to the next level and said that someone would be contacting me in a day or 2. Well it's now Wednesday (1-19) of the following week and so far, nothing!
Has anyone else run into this problem? If so, what's the fix? Any help would be appreciated, especially since Verizon has been no help at all!
I'm using a Moto Droid2 ver, 2.3.2 Rooted and OC'd @ 2.25Ghz
Thanks,
Scott

Unfortunately, it didn't work. I updated it waited the 15 minutes. When it didn't work I rebooted the phone figuring maybe it needed to be refreshed or something, (long time windows tech, reboot fixes everything!) but still nothing. Just that same message.
I get the exact same error when sending or receiving MMS 50 percent of the time with the first initial try... *228 does not fix this.. verizon cannot fix it either...
OK, got tired of waiting for Verizon to call back. On the phone with 2nd tier support now for about the last hour, so far nothing.
Mine started doing that on mms after using juice defender app and I had to do a factory reset to fix it.
OK, got finished with the Verizon tech, who was very helpful, but we still could not resolve the issue.
She removed and reloaded my data from the server, switched me to another IP address and did a few other behind the scenes things but nothing worked. She suggested doing the factory reset, but I'm ready to give up troubleshooting this issue yet. If all else fails, then I guess I will have no other option.
Since sending MM text's in not a huge part of what I use my phone for, I may just wait for the next release of the software and hope that fixes it.
In the mean time I'll just keep playing with settings and searching Google and the message boards in the hope that someone can come up with a fix that doesn't involve having to wipe it.

I used to use that app, but removed it long before this started happening. I wonder if it left behind some orphan files that are somehow in there wreaking havoc?
Since the problem still existed even running the phone in safe mode, I would think that would not be the case, but anythings possible.
my phone does the same thing with same message... if i try again to download message it will usually come through, but if it happens on outgoing message it will never go through

That's the thing. Since so many people are having the same or similar issue, I just find it hard to believe it's not something on Verizon's side or with their software. This many people screwing up their phone's in the exact same way all around the same time just seem a little suspect to me.
Mine happened 6 months ago. Just reset it and see what happens. All your apps with reinstall by themselves.

Yeah, I guess I'm going to have to try something. I want to make a nandroid backup first just to be safe and then I'll give it a shot.
Thanks.
This is great!
So, I just finished the factory reset (which DID fix the problem) and was starting to configure all my custom settings when the Verizon tech I spoke with called me back. She said that she had just spoken to Motorola and they said it was a known problem with their phones! They are not sure what it is yet, but they are working on it. In the mean time, the only thing they can suggest is to reset the phone as a work around!
I asked the Verizon tech if there was any kind of documentation about this that she could send me, but of course there isn't. And there's also nothing on the Motorola site about the error either, at least nothing I could find.
While it doesn't make the situation go away, it does make me feel better knowing what the root of the problem is, sort of. Only problem is, there is no guarantee that it won't happen again.
i turn airplane mode on then off... works for me
Im having the same problem. I even reflashed to stock motorola, still does it. I noticed if i hold down on failed pics or tap download a few times it works. The problem seems to be triggering the data on and off from the send button.

Yes, I had heard that worked for some people, and I did try that but it still didn't work. Even so, that would only be a work around and not really fixing the issue.

Interesting, since I did the factory rest I haven't had a problem. If it happens again, I'll be sure to check that.
Is there some way to add in a fixes while using the AT&T Atrix on Rogers for new voice mail icon always on, sms having the wrong time and pay phone displayed for some incoming calls? I had none of these issues on my nexus, both cm and stock. Thanks.
*UPDATE*
After trying my sim in several different phones and not being able to recreate the constant new voicemail displayed I tried swapping out my sim for a newer one and the icon seems to be gone for now. I also asked the rogers rep to exclude "name display" for the third time and I hope it finally works.
The voicemail icon is not a problem for me. SMS Time Fix fixes the time stamp issue and calling rogers and getting them to exclude the "name display" option on your call display fixes the payphone problem.

Yeah I've tried that... I even tried that putting my sim into my nexus(the nexus didn't show an icon but I did it anyways).
The VM issue is a Rogers problem, one that I had on my old G1 too. You have to call them and go through all their useless troubleshooting. None of it works of course, so in the end I had to have my VM account removed and re set up and that fixed it.

yeah just seems weird, my nexus doesn't do any of these weird bugs. I really hope one of the scripters can fix these issues. I'm using gingerblur now, I wonder if some settings and stuff can be imported from CM or similar.
Hey guys, there is a known issue. Call in and ask that the CSRs please "exclude name display" from your account. This will resolve the incoming caller ID issue. A reboot shouldn't be required but wouldn't hurt.
For voicemail, please leave a voicemail and then check it. Either delete or save the message by hitting 7 or 9, and then hit # after to back out of the menus before ending the call. Too soon and the voicemail waiting indicator would stay. It irritates the heck out of me but you don't have to put up with it. It will go away if you do this.
Sometimes you may need to add/remove voicemail from your account. A CSR will do this and TSRs may be empowered to make this account change as long as it pertains to troubleshooting.. not too sure.
Any data issues too, get the TSR dept to reset the network connection from their end. They'll have you power cycle and it will fix data issues. My bud had a problem but I patched it up for him via Chat Support.
I'm on Rogers too and my Atrix is working flawlessly

I wouldn't call it flawless, but yeah once you have the proper apn's it works fine call wise and data wise. It's just some little things that need to be ironed out. Hopefully once the Atrix goes global we'll see that disapear.

Name display and if you use network time(or use sms time fix) your sms is way out. The network time is really useful for me as I travel a lot. The name display is also useful for knowing who someone is while I'm not at home so I don't pay long distance. The new voicemail thing is annoying and seems weird that it doesn't do it on my nexus, tilt or e71.

I had downloaded 1 of Mik's roms a while back (version 2.0.1 to be exact) and saw this 3.0 as his latest work on his website so figured I would give it a try. I see that he is aware that there are still remnants of this ROM that was made for Sprint EVO devices apparently, but I'm having a unique issue.
Whenever I attempt to make a call it alerts me that I am in roaming mode (which I double checked and i have it checked OFF so my DINC will dont roam) and if I would like to continue anyway. When my lock screen comes up it says "Verizon Network" on top and I am receiving and able to send text messages just fine. I have not seen anyone else having this issue in the forums and the last thing I want is to receive a higher bill from Verizon at the end of the month because of a new ROM. Also, the alert is simply annoying.
Please help.

Sounds like you need to update your prl. You do this by dialing *228 and selecting option 2.
I forgot to mention that that's the first thing I did. I even accepted the alert and went with it anyway knowing it wouldn't take but a minute. It programmed the phone successfully.
Still occuring obviously.

Hmm not sure then. I know sprint ported roms tend to be touchy on the verizon network. I gave up on using them after synergy rom awile back, because my data connection would constantly break, requiring a compleete ruu and factory reset to get it working again. Just flashing a new rom wouldnt fix it.
Have you tried flashing the .0808 evo radio. I know it works on the incredible and mabey since its a sprint ported rom the evo radio would work better, or mabey not just a sugestion.
Its in call settings or wireless and networks. It's called roam guard. Unchecked it and you'll be fine.

I actually had to turn ON data roaming to check off Data Roam Guard. It didn't work. But out of desperation I checked OFF Call Guard and that fixed it. Maybe that's the option that you meant. Either way, the alert has stopped and my outgoing calls no longer give me that message while I have roaming OFF.
Thanks for the replies.

Doing this on sprint ROMs have a tendency to break data. I don't recommend doing this. Also other development don't recommend it either. If you start having data issues, you may need to go back to stock, redo *228, the reflash what you want. I'm currently running my port of MikG 3.0 and have not had the warning. I did what you have done and its fine. I've made sure that the NETWORK thinks we are in fact Verizon, but the ROM somehow thinks we are Sprint.
