I am sorry if this has been posted else where but after a few house of google and about 7 or 8 pages of xda threads I was unable to find a similar topic...
Does anyone know of a way for force all of the phone audio through the handset profile when using bluetooth. I know that all phone audio will go through a2dp but I do not have an a2dp bluetooth and understand that the audio will be mono.
Sorry if this doesn't make sense.
Bump
Just bumping the idea. There was a program called BT Audio for WM that forced all audio to any BT headset, mono or stereo. Voice Search used the BT mic, and TTS used the earpiece. I'd love to listen to my visual voicemail and use Voice Input, thru my BT instead of fumbling with my phone while driving.

I'm somewhat puzzled about the terms Headset and Hands-free.
There is an option to set my BT headset as hands-free, but I have no idea what that does.
My BT headset (airoblue) is supposed to have an mp3 interface, but when I play an mp3, the sound comes out of the speaker.
I would like to hear all sound to go through my BT headset.
So there are 2 questions in the latter:
1. What is the difference between Headset and Handsfree?
2. Is it possible to have all sound go through my BT headset?
any ideas?
I can answer the first one.
Headset is pretty straightfoward...plug in your headset, use your bluetooth, etc
Handsfree is kind of like speakerphone I guess. No headset or accessories required, the sound is played thru the phone's main speaker instead of the earpiece, so that you can sit the phone on the desk in front of you and hold a conversation. (I haven't used this feature on my mini yet tho, so no idea how well it works and I *think* you activate this mode by holding down the green answer button onc the call has been answered).
I think you misunderstood the question bleepy. The latest Radio Stack of the Magician seems to implement the Handsfree Profile for bluetooth in addition to the Headset profile. The difference between these two is, that Handsfree has some additional capabilities compared to Headset. I think it allows voice dialing as well as initiating calls by the headset (therefore: Handsfree!). It is not meant for audio transmission and i doubt that the WaveOut of the Magician is linked to the bluetooth profile. That's what the A2DP profile is there for. This is not included in the Microsoft stack and i think currently also not available from third party developers. So I think you should forget about the audio streaming over the headset, also because the audio quality should be really bad since the handsfree profile wasn't developed for music streaming.
Thanks for the clear explanation.
I hoped there was a way, because it is nice to watch a movie or something in the plane, or bus.
Guess I'm stuck with the wired headset.
How do you guys listen to your voice navigation software? I have the supertooth II BT handsfree set, and make and receive my phone calls through it. Now when I go into my nav software, the audio goes throught the loudspeaker, or I have to use the cable earphones (supplied with phone).
Using the earphones is a bit stupid, then I might as well not have the handsfree in the car. I would like to get all audio & sound to go to my Supertooth.
There was a site I found where a guy posted software that sends all audio to a bluetooth headset. Now this was a Samsung i730 post, now I wonder if it is not written for the i730, as I tried it out, and it switches my Supertooth on, but still nou audio can be heard.
Will something like a BT audio transmitter that is normally used to trasmit audio from a MP3 player to a hifi work?
I recently picked up a Bluetooth Headset, and I was quite surprised to discover that my G1 was pumping ALL audio into the headset instead of just the in-call audio. My main problem is that I use Telenav GPS, and when it talks I can't hear the person I'm talking to. Ideally, the G1 should be playing the call through the headset and the GPS sounds through the built-in speaker. Is there any way to force it to behave that way?
Hi.
I have a HTC Touch HD and a regular bluetooth headset.
I only seem to be able to use it for voice calls.
Is there any way of routing regular audio through the headset or do I have to buy a separate headset?
Any help appreciated.

Mono headset audio quality is likely to be crappy. Anyway...

Pocket Player 4.1 does work fine with a mono bluetooth set - I have a blueant.
BUT, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I just use it for speech podcasts so I'm OK with poor quality.
For good quality I use a stereo Sony-E HBH.
Is there any way to convert a phones Bluetooth A2DP profile to a
"phone" profile. The head unit in my car doesnt support A2DP, just wondering if theres a way I can play music through a phone profile via bluetooth. I''m on a Captivate, but figured this was more of an Android general inquiry. Thanks!
Possibly, but it would sound absolutely awful. The data of the phone profile is so poor in quality and is mono too.
edit:200th post.
It's possible that using an app like Mono Bluetooth (some similar name, search the Market) could allow your phone to play music as mono with your car thinking it's a phone call. As stated above it will probably not sound very good.
