Any way of getting audio through a regular bluetooth headset - Touch HD General

Hi.
I have a HTC Touch HD and a regular bluetooth headset.
I only seem to be able to use it for voice calls.
Is there any way of routing regular audio through the headset or do I have to buy a separate headset?
Any help appreciated.

To listen to media files throw your regular headset you can use
http://www.conduits.com/products/player/ , if you want high quality audio get one of this http://direct.motorola.com/ens/s9/Headset_Home.asp
best regards

Thanks. Will try the links.

Mono headset audio quality is likely to be crappy. Anyway...

Pocket Player 4.1 does work fine with a mono bluetooth set - I have a blueant.
BUT, the quality leaves a lot to be desired. I just use it for speech podcasts so I'm OK with poor quality.
For good quality I use a stereo Sony-E HBH.

Set as Hands Free

I'm somewhat puzzled about the terms Headset and Hands-free.
There is an option to set my BT headset as hands-free, but I have no idea what that does.
My BT headset (airoblue) is supposed to have an mp3 interface, but when I play an mp3, the sound comes out of the speaker.
I would like to hear all sound to go through my BT headset.
So there are 2 questions in the latter:
1. What is the difference between Headset and Handsfree?
2. Is it possible to have all sound go through my BT headset?
any ideas?
I can answer the first one.
Headset is pretty straightfoward...plug in your headset, use your bluetooth, etc
Handsfree is kind of like speakerphone I guess. No headset or accessories required, the sound is played thru the phone's main speaker instead of the earpiece, so that you can sit the phone on the desk in front of you and hold a conversation. (I haven't used this feature on my mini yet tho, so no idea how well it works and I *think* you activate this mode by holding down the green answer button onc the call has been answered).
I think you misunderstood the question bleepy. The latest Radio Stack of the Magician seems to implement the Handsfree Profile for bluetooth in addition to the Headset profile. The difference between these two is, that Handsfree has some additional capabilities compared to Headset. I think it allows voice dialing as well as initiating calls by the headset (therefore: Handsfree!). It is not meant for audio transmission and i doubt that the WaveOut of the Magician is linked to the bluetooth profile. That's what the A2DP profile is there for. This is not included in the Microsoft stack and i think currently also not available from third party developers. So I think you should forget about the audio streaming over the headset, also because the audio quality should be really bad since the handsfree profile wasn't developed for music streaming.
Thanks for the clear explanation.
I hoped there was a way, because it is nice to watch a movie or something in the plane, or bus.
Guess I'm stuck with the wired headset.

Bluetooth Audio on Cingular 8125

Hi, i was wondering if anyone has a consisce, reliable way to eaisly enable streaming bluetooth audio on an 8125
mine is pretty much bone stock except for spb pocket pc.
Thanks for any help,

Are you looking for stereo bluetooth sound or just through a mono headset?
Stereo (A2DP) support should be built in, depending on when you purchased the phone, but if you just want to stream music over a bluetooth headset (mono, low quality), check here.
thanks

Audio/Music Over Bluetooth Headset - not just calls

Ok everyone...I have my handsfree bluetooth headset working great for calls and can hear call audio just fine, but I want to be able to listen to any audio that comes out of my xv8600 so is there a cab file that mods the audio to send over bluetooth? I did a forum search and found nothing on the subject.
THANKS!!
p.s. - the headset is the motorola h700 model
This is one I have used..use...Not a cab..just drop in windows\start menu\programs and it will show up in the programs folder...sure there are many newer versions that would be cab style.
thanks. that did the trick, but wow...audio quality is terrible. I didnt notice how bad it was before since it was just voice audio...
anyone know a high quality BT headset? like as good as regular earbud headphones at least?
-connor
thanks!!
BUMP - anyone? with regards to my last post - trying to find a highquality audio bt headset?
this motorola one I have sound slike 11KHz, and not the full 44KHz quality, sounds very muted and distant, like typical phone quality when I try to listen to music on it...anyone?
It's definitely a hardware issue, so since I just bought this motorola one, I'd like to take it back for a better one, so please post ASAP if you know of a full44khz quality BT headset/earbud
Thanks!!
Heard "jawbones" are nice...and expensive...for that kinda money I would just purchase bluetooth stereo headphones..some come with built-in mics

the whole point is to minimize wghile driving but still get good audio....besides wearing stereo headphones while driving is illegal since it inhibits your abaility to hear sirens, etc...had a friend who got a ticket for listening to his ipod with headphones while driving. the cop told him he could hook it up to his car stereo, but not have headphones directly in his ear. bluetooth earbuds are still legal, thats why i want a stereo quality earbud (albeit on channel) but in 44khz so i can take calls and listen to
hq music
try PLANTRONICS 855 voyager. Excelent. That´s you are looking for.

[Q] music through my jawbone bt earpiece?

is it possible on the vibrant to stream music to my jawbone bt earpiece ? i used to do it on my touch pro 2. but with android im not sure ? help me out guys please
Yes, it's possible (though it may depend on what model Jawbone you have). Make sure your Jawbone is updated with H2DP and your phone should be able to recognize that the headset can be headphones as well. Check out the Jawbone website for more info.
If his jawbone is like my old one ( now use a Plantronics Pro), it didn't support Stereo (H2DP)
One of things I plan on looking into the Android source for is why someone hasn't come out with a "Mixer" app to route Media out the BT Headset profile. I'm sure there's a technical reason.
I've never seen a phone send music out to a BT headset... I don't understand why that is, it does if you use a wired headphone.
Things like podcasts should be fine in a mono headset. Even music would be better than nothing.

A2DP?
The new jawbone hero has an update that supports A2DP. Music sounds terrible through it tho, I even streamed NPR's car talk through it and it was scratchy. For some reason too, the phone prefers streaming over BT rather than through the audio jack when it's plugged in. Turned off the audio profile for the headset.

[Q] Bluetooth phone mono --> A2DP

Hey guys, thanks in advance. I've done some searching and haven't been able to find anything that addresses a small oversight.
So I have an A2DP audio receiver connected to the auxiliary input in my car. It works great for music, Pandora, and what not, but none of the mono-channel phone audio gets played through my car speakers. I realize it's due to the different profiles, that A2DP was designed for music and the hands-free profiles were designed for phone calls. However, I've been able to find Music --> Mono software that allows me to play music through mono-channel non-A2DP headsets.
Is there anything out there that can help me divert the mono phone audio stream through to A2DP?
Thanks.
