Any recommendation for A2DP headset?

I am looking for a great brand, best quality price no object. any comment?
I am currently using Sony Ericsson HBH610 at the moment and not happy with the sound quality.
Whenever I was in the car or moving around, people whom I was calling said that they were hearing my voice choppy.

Jabra BT8010, I was a bit nervous about the BT headsets but these were recommended to me by the forum. THey sound great and are very versatile with built in phone book and OLED screen.

Oh I have a question though with A2DP, Could you possibly answer the phone in stereo mode using Jabra BT8010? or it would switch automatically into one side mono mode whenever there is a phone call? I prefer Stereo mode for phone calls if possible since it enables me to hear more clearly and comfortably with 2 ears.
I don't think that I would be using BT8010 for music listening since I think my sensaphonics 2X-S aka ACS-T2 much better.

Hi Ade,
I have been reading the manual for BT8010 and it says that it will automatically convert into mono mode when we answer the phone. Are you sure we can enforce the stereo mode for phone calls?

I cna confirm on mine audio is played through both headphones

Have you try JetWare? Did it work to you?

From my perspective:
Ok I bought Jabra BT8010 today. The earphones' sound quality are exceptional compared to my Sony HBH-610. It sounds more open, flat/neutral, bigger soundstage, ..., so it's a lot more comfortable to carry out a conversation for a long period of time. And in Stereo mode. IT'S EXCEPTIONAL. I love the stereo mode, the sound is very open very clear and very relaxing.
Sony Ericsson HBH-610 on the other hand sounds very forward, It's like a slap in your face kinda sound, it's got peak in the treble area. Some people preceive this as better for conversation since you can hear sibilance more but then it could also mean that your ears may easily go fatigue a lot faster, and most likely damaging/bad for your ears as well.
From the person who received my phone calls:
Sony Ericsson sounds much cleaner, clearer, definitely better than the Jabra BT8010. The sound is more refined and fuller. The Jabra sounds boxy, lacking high, and also more digital sounding as if, you can hear cheap compression effects

Yes -- I have used the Motorola S9 (now broken) and the Jabra BT8010. Sounds good with both. Go for it.

the only issues are:
would love it to be louder
and it doesnt display the caller name or song on the headset led.
over all the quality is good though.

Any louder and mine would burst my eardrums! Are you sure yours is the genuine item? I've heard there are fakes arround which aren't as loud.
Or do you just like your music VERY loud?

ive tryed 3 bluetooth stereo headphones now, none of them where loud enough. my last set plantronics are ok, but you just cant beat the quality of a wired set. IMHO

And AMEO/ATHENA could use a plain wired bose headset : 99 euro the in-ear, but you can use also the noise cancelling ones ....

I assume that my hbh's are real given that i purchased them from an orange store (at 40% more than expansis- my fault for being impatient I guess).
the supplied headset is akin to something you would find in a cracker. my b&o A8 headphones sound great but i want auto switching between calls and music hence the sony option..
can any one suggest a bluetooth tranceiver with caller id (that works with wm6), built in mike and media player controls that allow me to use my own headphones?
oh... and by the way i do like loud music but my bt headset is significantly quieter.

You might consider the Jabra BT8010 which can function either way.

does your HBH-DS970 vibrate at all? Mine doesn't and I can't find info on how to set it to vibrate mode. If it doesn't vibrate then this headset and its retarded sister (HBH-DS980, which I bought) are the dumbest headsets that have ever been built. They don't VIBRATE!!! So the only way to get call notification is to wear the ear pieces all the time. If you're thinking of buying it for your Athena, save yourself the trouble. DON'T!!!!!!! I'm returning it to Fry's Electronics after work today. Too bad as they are soo stylish. But then it's common for hot looking guys/girls to have no brains..... and hot looking electronics to have important functions missing!!!

nope mine doesn't vibrate but then to be fair I purchased in knowing that it doesn't.
there is a bluetooth watch (thingy) that will eventually be compatible with wm phones that will vibrate (not the sony/fosil ones). I will post back once it reaches market.
In an ideal world I would love a remote bluetooth device with vibrate, led/lcd (compatible with wm), built in mike, allows me to use my B&O head phones, complete control of media player (fm radio would also be nice).
surely not too much to ask for???
I think the closest is the NOKIA-HS-12W (not sure if it still marketed though)

Best Bluetooth headphone with tytn ii ?

I would like to know what are the good headsets available for kaiser where the sound quality is great without any call drops and static and which is compatible with dutty's v3 .
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I currently use the Blue Ant Z9 with Dutty's v2 (Medium) ROM. Works great.

And I would like to know what this has to do with Kaiser upgrades. C'mon guys, is it that hard to use the appropriate forum?

I have tried several headsets (sony 980, Motorola 820, and Jabra 8010) and have settled on using the jabra set as my primary set because it is more comfortable then the 820, and does NOT have drop issues like the sony 980. the moto set works verY well but i found the wrap around uncomfortable. I'm using Dutty's v2 currently.

I started using Motorla S9 , its one of the best bluetooth headsphone / handsfree i have used. The stereo quality is gr8 !! and even the handsfree is good even with little bit of noise around you . i recommed the S9!.

HTC S100's with a decent pair of headphones for me. (Usually my little B&O earphones, occasionally my big old Sennheisers)

Another 8040 here. So far so good. Waiting for the Invisio Q7 to launch next month.

jabra bt 620s here . I love it , don't have any problems. Only when I go by bike and the wind is blowing in mic when calling but that is to be expected.

The Jawbone is the best headset on the market IMHO. Works phenominally with the TILT.

I have 3 headsets. 2 of them are incredibly quiet, even at full volume. The 3rd is a Jawbone. It is actually painfully loud, but sounds great, to me and to the other person on the phone. I would go for that.

On the tilt, I've never had a dropped signal while playing music, sound quality is decent, works with MS voice command. Another vote for the Jawbone. Works great. Also can attest to the performance of the Sony Ericsson HBH DS980 stereo headset. Works great as well...but you need the bluetooth extensions from JetWare to get it to do almost everything....phone book transfer doesnt work but everything else is there.

The Motorola S9 is extremely sexy and the Audio quality is great. I got mine off ebay (new, sealed for 40 bucks with ship), cause I was told they only come included with certain Motorola phones?

I think the OP requested information on the 'best bluetooth *headphone*'. The Jabra 8040 seems to be a headset, and seems to only able to answer phone calls and not play music, as one ear is left uncovered and void of hearing any sound.

Plantronics Voyager 855.
Better than the S9's I've had. Better than the HS820 headphones.
Awesome as a regular BT headset. Semi-noise reduction and even EQ sound as a stereo A2DP headset.

bluetooth headset!! sony or motorola???

after checking many bluetooth devices i got 3 majo contenders. buti am not able to figure out which one to buy.
1) Motorokr s9
2) HBH-DS970
3) HBH-DS980
am not sure whats the difference between 970 and 980. i tested s9 but felt when i speak it is difficult on the other side to listen, is that right? or is this because i dont have bluetooth fix and the other s/w installed?

Doesn't matter which, just don't get a Jabra headset. I had one for a week, then sold it and bought a Moto. The Jabra BT620s is absolute crap, as is Jabra customer support.

I've had a Jabra 8040 for 3 weeks and it's great. The listening volume is low, but that's a BT stack issue and not an issue with the headset. Personally, I'm more apt to trust a company that ONLY makes headset rather than a company that makes other products besides headsets.

I've got a pair of Motorola S9's and love them. Had no problems. I use them to stream internet radio over bluetooth when I'm working out at the gym.

The difference between the HBH-DS970 & HBH-DS980 are mainly on the displayed informations. You get more informations displayed on 980. For instance, DS980 is capable of listing all paired devices. If you flashed your device often. After ROM upgrade, you can easily select the device name from the DS980 list to reactivate the partnership.
The displayed text is also better on DS980 due to its higher resolution screen. Moreover, battery life seems to be better as well.
Due to the BT improvement on WM6.1, DS980 now is able to access the PPC Contacts & call history. Thus you can dial directly from the DS980 unit itself either based on last dial, call history or search for contact to dial. I assume DS970 can do that as well.
Sound quality of DS980/970 are the best that I've tried so far. Noise reduction is excellent. Bass sound is deep & powerfull, volume level is loud.
BTW, I upgraded from DS970 to DS980. The only reason to choose DS970 over DS980 is price. If that is not an issue, then DS980 is the one.

thanks a lot bro...really appreciate your review. was looking for such review only...i tried s9. its a good headset in terms of listening to the music but if you want to talk using that it sucks. i have another question for the 970/980 while on call it uses only one ear or both as in S9 its only one side. so you listen to music in stereo sound but talk in mono only.....

That's because the S9 has the mic embeded in one side. It picks up your voice from inside your ear. Great for noisy or windy areas. Units that utilize both speakers are still mono. Telephone conversations are sent over the lines in mono. If you take a cheap transistor radio and add a second speaker to it, its not stereo.

Might not be an answer to your question, but I got the DR-BT20NX, which are bud headphones with a mic on the control fob. Audio is pretty good and I've used it for h/f in the car until I bought my thb-bury kit. They don't have any display on the fob tho - and the fob looks a bit clunky by comparison.
Cost £40, so pretty cheap

Does the track info get displayed now with WM 6.1 or is that still on the wish list for the future ?
I must admit since buying my DS980 i've had no problems and the sound quality is great, i love how it auto turns the volume up when you walk into a noisy enviroment to compensate.

Loud A2DP, a chimera, an uncatchable dream still, even if we are walking towards the end of the first 2K decade.
I've tried a lot of them, wasted a lot of money, all of them were dull, low volumed craps of silicon got me everytime going back to wires.
But now I discovered something really worth mentioning. It's not 100% perfect but yes it's 96% perfect (I had Motorola S705 and i'd give it 20%), loud, clear and screaming.
Gentlemen it's Nokia's BH-500. 3.5mm audiojack for your fave earphones and loud loud LOUD.. Espec on my kaiser this thing rocks. It's almost like listening to Pocket Music wired something like a volumeclick down no more..
After everything been through I HAVE to spread the good news guys. No more wasted money on A2DP. (They should allow testing before you buy but they don't. If they did I'be rich )
I'm looking for non-wired now. I'll give BH-503 a try (princess Leia kindastyle). It's new to the market and I trust Nokia in the sound dept. (N91 is the best and loud MP3 player ever ever) so I'll keep you informed..

Bluetooth for music and phone?

Hello, i'm new to having BT and i just got my tilt yesterday. One thing i need to do is get a BT headset, but i'm having trouble finding out if a BT headset will transfer any audio to the unit instead of phone only audio.
I want something that will let me listen to my music or video, and it will need to make some sort of indication that a call is coming in and let me take the call and then go back to the music when the call is done.
I don't want something that has some HUGE boom mike that resembles the head gear i have to wear for work.
I've heard a lot of good things about the Jawbone's noise canceling and sound quality, so i'm leaning towards that. I've looked in many places but haven't heard if the Jawbone does this.
I'm not concerned about stereo audio at all. As long as all the sound goes to the headset and plays in my ear i'm happy. Stereo is completely not necessary cause i'm deaf in my right ear and couldn't hear it even if i wanted to.
I think the Jabra BT8040 does this but is the noise canceling as good as the jawbone?

Any BT ear piece like Jawbone can have all sounds diverted to it by using a small free app called BTaudiotoggle. Do a search for BTaudio. It works great.
If you are deaf in one ear, the Jawbone is fine, the BlueAnt Z9 is smaller, cheaper, and Louder than the Jawbone. I have both and they are two of the best earpieces.

the jabra bt 3030 is good as well,nice bright blue flashes when calls come in,and can take any ear gear with 3.5 mm plug,mono or stereo.
