Call Audio vs Media Audio with Bluetooth Headset - G1 General

I recently picked up a Bluetooth Headset, and I was quite surprised to discover that my G1 was pumping ALL audio into the headset instead of just the in-call audio. My main problem is that I use Telenav GPS, and when it talks I can't hear the person I'm talking to. Ideally, the G1 should be playing the call through the headset and the GPS sounds through the built-in speaker. Is there any way to force it to behave that way?

Set as Hands Free

I'm somewhat puzzled about the terms Headset and Hands-free.
There is an option to set my BT headset as hands-free, but I have no idea what that does.
My BT headset (airoblue) is supposed to have an mp3 interface, but when I play an mp3, the sound comes out of the speaker.
I would like to hear all sound to go through my BT headset.
So there are 2 questions in the latter:
1. What is the difference between Headset and Handsfree?
2. Is it possible to have all sound go through my BT headset?
any ideas?
I can answer the first one.
Headset is pretty straightfoward...plug in your headset, use your bluetooth, etc
Handsfree is kind of like speakerphone I guess. No headset or accessories required, the sound is played thru the phone's main speaker instead of the earpiece, so that you can sit the phone on the desk in front of you and hold a conversation. (I haven't used this feature on my mini yet tho, so no idea how well it works and I *think* you activate this mode by holding down the green answer button onc the call has been answered).
I think you misunderstood the question bleepy. The latest Radio Stack of the Magician seems to implement the Handsfree Profile for bluetooth in addition to the Headset profile. The difference between these two is, that Handsfree has some additional capabilities compared to Headset. I think it allows voice dialing as well as initiating calls by the headset (therefore: Handsfree!). It is not meant for audio transmission and i doubt that the WaveOut of the Magician is linked to the bluetooth profile. That's what the A2DP profile is there for. This is not included in the Microsoft stack and i think currently also not available from third party developers. So I think you should forget about the audio streaming over the headset, also because the audio quality should be really bad since the handsfree profile wasn't developed for music streaming.
Thanks for the clear explanation.
I hoped there was a way, because it is nice to watch a movie or something in the plane, or bus.
Guess I'm stuck with the wired headset.

Navigation Software Audio over BT

How do you guys listen to your voice navigation software? I have the supertooth II BT handsfree set, and make and receive my phone calls through it. Now when I go into my nav software, the audio goes throught the loudspeaker, or I have to use the cable earphones (supplied with phone).
Using the earphones is a bit stupid, then I might as well not have the handsfree in the car. I would like to get all audio & sound to go to my Supertooth.
There was a site I found where a guy posted software that sends all audio to a bluetooth headset. Now this was a Samsung i730 post, now I wonder if it is not written for the i730, as I tried it out, and it switches my Supertooth on, but still nou audio can be heard.
Will something like a BT audio transmitter that is normally used to trasmit audio from a MP3 player to a hifi work?

[Q] music through my jawbone bt earpiece?

is it possible on the vibrant to stream music to my jawbone bt earpiece ? i used to do it on my touch pro 2. but with android im not sure ? help me out guys please
Yes, it's possible (though it may depend on what model Jawbone you have). Make sure your Jawbone is updated with H2DP and your phone should be able to recognize that the headset can be headphones as well. Check out the Jawbone website for more info.
If his jawbone is like my old one ( now use a Plantronics Pro), it didn't support Stereo (H2DP)
One of things I plan on looking into the Android source for is why someone hasn't come out with a "Mixer" app to route Media out the BT Headset profile. I'm sure there's a technical reason.
I've never seen a phone send music out to a BT headset... I don't understand why that is, it does if you use a wired headphone.
Things like podcasts should be fine in a mono headset. Even music would be better than nothing.

A2DP?
The new jawbone hero has an update that supports A2DP. Music sounds terrible through it tho, I even streamed NPR's car talk through it and it was scratchy. For some reason too, the phone prefers streaming over BT rather than through the audio jack when it's plugged in. Turned off the audio profile for the headset.

Stereo Bluetooth Calling Problems

Hi guys, so I'v tried to use my Nexus 4 and my RAZR HD and they both have the same issue. When I connect my phone to my car stereos bluetooth, it works fine for audio. Music plays through the speakers just great, and my stereo can reach my contacts. The problem I have is with calling. My stereo has a built in microphone, but for some reason, when I call or receive a call, my phone plays the other persons voice over my car speakers, but the stereo's microphone doesn't work. If I turn the audio mode on my phone manually to "headset" instead of "bluetooth" then the microphone works, but the other person voice doesn't go over the speakers anymore! It seems like the audio out is tied to my cars speakers, whereas the microphone is registered under "headset." Has anyone else ever heard of this happening? I just want both the audio in and audio out to be on bluetooth when I make a call.

[Q] Controlling Phone's Bluetooth behavior in Call

Here's the scenario -
I have a bluetooth car audio transmitter. When I'm playing music in my car, the audio is transmitted to it and on to the cars speakers.
As it stands, when i get a call, the call is also played through the speakers.
I also have a bluetooth headset.
Question -
Is it possible to set up the phone so that when playing music it plays through the car audio and when on a call it routes to my bluetooth earpiece?
Any and all suggestions/solutions welcome.
