Missing WIFI on 614c - Sable

Hi,
My WIFI disappeared somehow... Marvel SDIO8686 Wireless is visible under Network Adapters but there is no WIFI section in Wireless Manager.
on HP Asset I see:
Radio Present: Yes
Firmware Version: N/A
Hardware Revision 88W8686
Driver Version: N/A
Software Version: N/A
IP Address: N/A
MAC Address: [mac here]
I tried loading different roms, 1.01.04 BIOS, radio firmware 0.88,0.89 but still without luck :/ Any suggestions perhaps?

did you try factory reset a few times?
worst case would be contacting hp for exchange..

yes, I already performed Clean-Boot several times...

Clean boot and hardware reset are not the same....
Go to StartMenu - Settings - System and tap Factory recovery.
But before save all important data!
This recovery procedure means that you now open the box of your brand new Ipaq.

I have had this happen a few times (usually after a ROM update). I switch off the unit, remove the battery, wait for 30 seconds, insert the battery and power on. Wireless comes back.

Updated to 2.2.1

Previously when i updated to 2.2. It lagged very much every where. Even the virtual keyboard used to open with a short delay but now finally updated to 2.2.1 Baseband I9000XXJPY and believe me its fast. All the lag problems are almost gone. Option to update firmware directly from handset now available.
What is your product code? XEU ? mine DBT and i'm desperately need to update to 2.2.1
off update or flash?

Be interesting to know when this will be implemented. Currently only shows "unable to connect to server". Elsewhere on the forum there is a thread on a new version of Kies. http://tinyurl.com/368p4a7
Anyway I agree it is fast, pretty well lag free and I am getting satisfactory battery life after dumping some apps that I no longer needed after update. I do use Juice Defender BTW.
Mine connects to the server (you must have a Samsung account) but reports no updates available.

Have you logged into that at the Update section? I only got the error message you mention prior to entering that information.
Have you reseted the phone after 2.2.1?
I haven`t, the phone was very fast and every apk was working then after swapping batteries it freezed on boot for 2min then reseted itself, all numbers gone,
I`m really affraid this gone happen again, because I switch often between batteries.

Yes I am logged in. Just tried again as a matter of interest and it spent 2 mins "connecting to server" and then disconnected with a brief message flash which said "connection failed". Maybe it's a regional thing. I'll come back to it in a week or so.

Could be regional. Where are you? I'm in the UK. This update seems regional specific as, when I did a factory reset, UT asked me which SIM scheme I was on; o2 postpay, o2 prepay or Tesco.
I'm in Finland. Certainly sounds regional and/or operator. Seem to remember reading that one of the US versions used OTA updating.
mine wouldnt reset after removing system apps.. (boot loop). so i reflashed and reset immiately after install.. someone else pointed out that factory reset does not work if you have removed any system apps.. so that couldve been the reason.. havent retried cause dont want to reinstall everything.

T550 - Passcode Lock / MDM Won't allow reset

Hey All
Was looking for some help. I have a Galaxy sm-t550 with a passcode lock. I am unable to do a hard reset (holding down power + volume up + home button) because this device has been locked to an MDM, so that option is out.
I have successfully flashed the stock firmware using Odin downloaded from SamMobile. The issue is that is hasn't erased the user data and I'm back where I started. The only file contained in the download was the AP file (No BL or CSC). Is there a way to flash with Odin using this file to completely erase the old user data? Maybe it's simple but couldn't find this exact situation on the forum.
Thanks!

It's through my company that uses an MDM. User forgot passcode and it's not connect to WiFi so can't sync remotely.

Install the combination firmware then factory reset from settings. Hopefully it should wipe mdm.
Enable OEM unlock also in developer settings if it's available.

I'm in the same boat. Son bought a tablet on Offerup. Dude quickly removed his seller profile. Son didn't even test to see if the device was locked as the buyer quote on quote told him "That the device was just dead and needed a charge." Device can't be factory reset due to MDM lock.
No idea what the password may be.
Unable to reach encryption settings to force the device to wipe itself due to a password..
Feels like he just bought a really expensive paperweight. Mind helping? I'll post any other information that is needed.

Please help: All my apps are frozen

Bought a "new" s10+, and started downloading apps into the phone. But at some point, when I press the Settings App to get into settings, it just stays grayed out. After a few restarts, I discovered none of my other apps are working either. I can't make phone calls even if the sim card is inserted [it was working prior], any app I press stays greyed out. No error message pops up when the Setting or other app stays grayed out, just frozen.*
Is it normal for a "new" s10+ to have 100gb filled for apps storage from the get go? I have the 128 gb version from Canada.
I've tried the volume up + bixby+ power up to reset but I don't see the android screen, it only gives me a boot type: recovery, normal, fast, and no other options. I tried booting up into recovery mode but all I saw was the android mascot on it's side with a "!" picture.*
Have I bricked my phone by downloading apps from the Google apps store and perhaps filling up the internal phone memory? Please help.
tldr: I can't hard reset, I can't get into settings app. Help Please.
If you cant hard reset than try boot into recovery and there make factory reset or first try delete cache and check if it work than ok

Are you sure its a genuine Samsung Galaxy S10+ and not a knockoff? Download an app like Phone Info for more info about the device. Samsung devices donn`t have a recovery or fast boot option in the power menu.

From the PhoneInfo app:
Name samsung SMg975w
manufacturer: samsung
I have 48% available ram when I turn on the phone. Battery 100% charged
Internal storage available is 6.87 gb.
OS: lollipop 9.0

Funny how I can download apps from the Play Store but I can't get into Settings App.
Hard to discern whether it's a knockoff: the turning on samsung screen seems correct. Doesn't help when it's my first samsung phone. [Prior experience with android is my Sony Z2, and that still works fine today!]

Root means that you have administrative rights and you can change any system setting on your phone and in theory flash custom software. Samsung phones don`t come with root access and besides Europe root access voids the device warranty.

I`am afraid that it will be very hard if not impossible to get root, you need a compatible custom recovery and these kind of phones will not be supported. Maybe searching on Google will lead to something but the chances are very slim.

n9005 LOS16 (hlte): loosing permanently WLAN-connection

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-9005 with LineageOS 16. The phone is rootet. From beginning on I have only one problem (everything else is running smooth and fast enough): the WLAN connection is interrupted every few minutes. The interruption longs for about 30 seconds. The GSM connection never interrupts.
The problem is surely inside my phone. My network is running well, I don't have any problems with any other device.
I searched the internet; it seems, that some other phones like Huawei and other Samsungs can have similiar problems. I followed every hint without success.
I gambled with any setting I could imagine like disabling energy management, highest performance, etc, nothing works.
Any idea?

Hi Mohamedkam000!
Thanks for your attention!
I bought this n9005 about three months ago. I didn't use the original software, first thing was rooting and installing TWRP/LineageOS, both latest versions (LOS 17 wasn't available then, so I installed LOS 16). In the meantime I updated LOS a several times hoping the WLAN-problem will be solved. But it didn't.
Bootloader is TWRP almost latest version. Baseband version is N9005XXUGBOJ1 (I wonder how this can help). LOS version is 16.0-20191014-NIGHTLY-hlte.

I dont really get it tho... I have a same issue and a custom ROM that I would like to keep. My baseband version is N9005XXUGBOJ1. My original samsung ROM was Lollipop XME (Malaysia) so I have more that needs to learn. If I flash the Baseband you mentioned above, will my wifi works again and will I LOSE my custom ROM? Since baseband is the controller of all radio features it sounds possible that this is the issue

No, baseband doesn't affect your current os, i don't really guarantee that it'll definitely fix your wifi, just try it and see. And don't forget about the bootloader.
Where to find baseband file?
I struggled a bit with "baseband", but now I think, I understood it: as a part of the firmware it managed the way of using radio-connections like Wifi etc.
I tried to download the baseband N9005ZSUGPJ2 without success. I can only find whole firmwares ~1,3GB! I think the baseband file must contain just a patch of a few kB. Additionally this baseband N9005ZSUGPJ2 is for Hong Kong.
1. Am I right, that the baseband patch is a file ~few kB?
2. If yes, Where can I find it?
3. Mustn't it be a baseband for German purposes, as I'm in Germany?

I think, I found a few answers with the help fo Duckduckgo:
the baseband-files are a part of the firmware. You can download the complete firmware (actually I found a german version from october 2018: https://samsung-firmware.org/de/dow...05-dtm/NmlQY/DTM/N9005XXSGBRI2/N9005DTMGBRJ1/ ). Registration process was a bit confusing as they want to sell premium accounts, but after a while I managed the download the file. It's a zip-file of about 1.4GB. After extracion you can find the related files.

CP files are around ~50 MB, you can find them on Android File Host,
I recommended PJ2 cause i used a lot of versions and PJ2 was the best, you can try a lot as well, check this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=18034
And this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=121230
And also this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=195193
CP = CellPhone = Modem = Baseband
Good luck
Now I downloaded some different Firmware-Updates, 2 complete files ~1.4GB and a cp-File ~50MB. One of the two complete firmwares contained 4 different files, one named BL-... and one named CP-...; the one with CP contains modem-file N9005ZSUGPJ2, what exactly is what you recommended.
First try was to upload modem.bin via odin. This didn't work, the process stood still while showing "checking file" (or something similiar). So I took the N9005ZSUGPJ2-file, which was a tar.md5-file. This worked.
Upload via odin went through without any errors, but here comes the problem: After reboot baseband-version remains unchanged, still original version. I tried a several times, always the same.
I remembered from rooting, that the phone keeps the old version in mind so I had to interrupt the boot process very early. But here this didn't work.
How did you manage this?
kr,
Bernd Hollermann.
I found a solution in a post , but I don't understand exactly what's going on there:
Before flashing I just took out the battery (I did it for about two minutes). Then I flashed, no errors (like before), but now the baseband-info changed to the new version.
Unfortunately the new modem N9005ZSUGPJ2 doesn't work better than my old one N9005XXUGBOJ1, still the Wifi connection interrupts periodically.
But with this I learned many new aspects of my phone. Thanks to Mohamedkam000.:good:
Next steps: try different modemfiles. If I find a good working file or any other solution to my problem, I will post it here.
kr,
Bernd Hollermann.

Installing baseband is kinda strange, you have to pull out the phone battery for a few seconds, once you revert it, get directly to bootloader, flash the CP.
When it finish, don't let it boot to system, directly hold home + volume down, and flash it again.
Do the same thing again.
I don't know why, but it never worked for me from the 1st try.

Well .. that's really strange, is your hotspot running fine?
Bluetooth? Mobile data?
Try using Audax kernel for stock lollipop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960685508
Flash via TWRP, if it didn't work, probably it's a hardware problem, you may have to replace the motherboard.

Try using Audax kernel for stock lollipop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960685508
Flash via TWRP, if it didn't work, probably it's a hardware problem, you may have to replace the motherboard.

I thought about hardware problems too.
My LAN works very fine, I have about 10 devices with LAN/Wifi-Access without any problem. This single Note3 is the only device not working properly.
The Note3 itself runs very well and very fast in any other way: Bluetooth, Audio, LTE, NFC, ...
Next steps are testing one or two other modem-files. If this doesn't help, I'm looking for another device, maybe another identical Note 3.
I will report here.
Now I realized that most of the modem.ini are identical: most of them have the date 2015-10-16. There is one from vodafone with date 2015-10-28. The PJ2-modem.bin, which Mohamedkam000 recommended, is the newest: 2016-10-21.
I tried all, nothing changed. Remarkable: often the Wifi-connection seemed to be stable, but after 1 or 2 hours it starts to interrupt.
Then - after gambling with settings a.s.o - I realized a very chaotic behavior of the 5GHz-Channel. Before I changed the settings of my access point from dual mode 2.4Ghz+5GHz to just 5GHz, so that the phone MUST choose this. The surrounding Wifi's vanished completely from the Wifi-list (no Wifi's could be found at all), reapperaed a few seconds later, tried to connect to my 5GHz-Wifi, mostly didn't connect (sometimes it does), Wifi vanishes ... . This went on permanently every few seconds.
After that I deleted all Wifi-Networks from phone, set up a single 2.4GHz-Wifi-Channel in access-point and conncted to the 2.4GHz Wifi. Now problems seems to have gone: since about 1 hour every ping has got an answer, no dropouts at all. This never did happen before.
Conclusion: 5GHz component is badly supportet or has a hardware error. I wonder what it will be.
Are there any other people having similiar issues?
I don't know if it's a hardware problem or region based or something, even in Mobile Hotspot, i can't share internet using 5GHz band.
You should know that 5GHz band has a small range, you have to be so close to your router.
Glad to hear your WiFi worked : D

I'm glad to report some big improvements.
That's what I did without success:
I changed to many different modem.ini and back to original modem.ini. These are some of what I tried:
----------------------------------------

----------------------------------------
CP_N9005XXUGPQB1-Nordic
21.2.2017
56.231.680 Bytes
----------------------------------------
The one from 16.10.2015 is the most spreaded. If you search for "latest version", most are this.
You (Mohamedkam000) recommended the one from 21.10.2016. I installed it; if there were an improvement, it was hard to recognize. I searched hard for newer ones, at last I found the "nordic" from 21.2.2017. Unfortunately the situation has been the same as before. So I switched back to original from 16.10.2015 and - as it turned out, that connectivity seem to be slightle worse - back to nordic.
Then I realized, that GPS is weak too, it takes about 10 minutes to get a sufficient signal (inside my flat; my note 2 needs 30 seconds). Thinking about all my difficulties I decided to disassemble the phone to investigate if there's a recognizable hardware problem. I watched some youtube videos for to know where the screws are and if there's something to be careful about. It's quite simple, but it would be good to have some experience.
I disassembled the inner back cover. Everything seemed to be in a very good condition, but here and there it seemed if there were a slight shadow on surfaces of metal plates a.s.o.; so maybe the phone has been exposed to some moisture. However I cleaned every electric contact on both sides: spring contacts on pcb and plate contacts on cover, with Tunerspray 600 (cleaning fluid for analog tuner parts such as condensator etc, very effective!) and an ear cleaner stick. Beside I bended the spring contacts slightly to have a little bit more contact pressure.
This lead to a big improvement! GPS signal is back to normal (30 seconds for 3D fix using "GPS Test"). Wifi connection is as stable as never before.
I'm going to watch very closely the next days and will report.

Nice that you figured it out, was about to tell you, yesterday I saw a post about s10e with gps problems, the guy solved it with simple disassemble & reassemble!
UPDATE: I used to had this problem where Wifi and wifi tethering will not work in any tries to turn them on. How I fixed it? Idk its randomly. It actually started working fine when my phone stuck on boot and it produce too much heat I can say above 80°C and running on that temp for 8 hours. The heat must have melted the solder under the wifi chip abit enough to make contact to the motherboard. So best bet is using heat on the wifi chip

Help with NFC Crashing - AT&T S8 Active

Hey,
Need some help. My brand new AT&T S8 Active arrived yesterday. Since I am located outside the US I'm stuck with utilising Odin to update the software.
The current version listed on the AT&T website was 5CSK1 and I was able to track down the update:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=81251867&postcount=743
It installed successfully, everything is going well however I am unable turn on NFC. The toggle found in the settings menu is off and when I attempt to switch it on it greys out for a few seconds then the 'NFC keeps stopping' error appears on the bottom of the screen.
I've cleared the cache/data for the NFC app - no luck,
I've performed a factory reset via recovery menu - no luck.
I've installed the previous build 5CSJ3 from: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80903399&postcount=187 with a factory reset straight after - no luck.
I'm currently back on the latest K1 build.
Logcat shows errors with 'libnfc_nci' and a 'Fatal Exception' for the 'com.android.nfc' process. And to top it all off the NFC app is draining my battery.
If anyone can help me that would be awesome.

ugh, the active line... there hasnt ever been much support for those. All you can really do is keep flashing the stock firmware and hope that the errors resolve themselves.
Side note: have you noticed how they stopped making the active phones? They were a dismal failure. All they are is the regular phone in a case that you cant take off :/

Might try redownloading a different firmware from a differ location. I had this issue on a lg back in the day the camera wouldnt work no matter what I always restored stock with one firm I had. And it ended up being a bad download. Another possibility is a bad NFC chip. If it's new I'd have it warranted
Thankyou, Thankyou Youdoofus and TheMadScientist for your advice.
Woke up early today (3am) with coffee in hand I tried again downloading the K1 and J3 builds; neither worked.
Unfortunately there's no alternative download for them... Google points to the XDA forums which seem to come from some Russian forum.
I've gone to an earlier build - 5CSI3 - https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=80505887&postcount=186 which works.
So it's not a NFC chip issue, yay. Now, just need to figure out what I'll do when the next update hits at the end of this month.

Yeah, it's working on the 5CSI3 build from October 2019, there's been two recent updates since then (and another will come at the end of the month). I don't know what's happening as no one else has reported this issue .
Just wanting to be on the most recent version for security and the annoyance of having data wiped every update.
Edit: Yeah, Odin v3.13.1 . No errors being displayed, all green.
This issue is very likely to be caused by 3rd party sim unlock or FRP removal and meddling with knox.
I have been trying to get around this problem and it seems it is either a security measure to disable nfc payments on triggering knoxguard or problem with modem.
this problem started after CSJ3 update afaik and only on some phones, if someone can explain this would be great.
Solution:
You will lose all data so backup is recommended
Remove your SIM card, re-install the firmware with ODIN and check Nand Erase auto reboot and F. reset time
Check your KG status(checking or prenormal) on the bootloader, and in settings>device care you will see Security is disabled and it crashes when you click it.
I also noticed the settings menu is weird with many broken options and dailer codes dont work anymore.
EDIT: Workaround Solution:
THIS IS FOR G892A ONLY who have problem with NFC after updating to builds after December 2019
Disclaimer: do at your own risk and can break your phone signal or system detected as rooted/custom
note: you will lose all data, ONLY check "Auto Reboot" and "F. Reset Time" in odin
1) Backup your data
2) Delete your google account, so FRP : OFF in bootloader (this can cause problems if not done)
3) Flash 5 firmware files G892AUCS5CTC1 (latest rom with march 2020 security) and get back to bootloader
4) Flash 3 files from G892AUCS5CSI3 : BL, CP and CSC
(odin will say PASS, but recovery will give error)
5) select wipe data partition then reboot to system
when the phone starts you will see NFC logo in statusbar means you are successful
if you get errors while using odin: flash combination file : G892AUCU5ASD1 if this doesnt work it means you have different problem (cable, socket, pc, bad chip)
i tried flashing CP file only and phone booted into UPLOAD mode, so dont panic if you get into UPLOAD mode just reboot with 3 buttons to recovery and start over

Hello There!..kind of new about this so..long story short..
Phone had Android 8, and I really love Night mode on Android 9, so...I've found BL, AP, CP, CSC, USER Data ROM for GALAXY S8 ACTIVE AT&T Unlocked, however..I am a little bit afraid of any NAND Erase.
I am not an expert, but I can tell you are. By any chance do you have any vide or graphic tutorial abot how you can perform these actions? It is very odd that I am unable to have any *# codes working, and lately, I've received this odd message about NFC Service has stopped, so...any graphic step by step guide will be highly appreciated it.
I've tried ....soft reset, then factory reset, then flash again ODIN (BL, AP,CP, CSC and USER DATA ) But I have no idea how to back up my data, and it will be very helpful to have G892AUCS5CSI3 as well.
Thank you very much for your time, I hope you can help me and I appreciate very much your time.
The one that I have is AP_G892AUCS5CTC1_CL16888298_QB29841048_REV00_user_low_ship_MULTI_CERT_meta_OS9.tar

SOLVED!
So...I've followed the steps to install only BL, CP and CSC using G892AUCS5CSI3...however, the system started as usual, and actually did not work =(
RESOLUTION:
INSTALL THE FULL G892AUCS5CSI3. Worked as magic =)
thank you for the thread!!

You can backup your data with Samsung backup and restore to Samsung cloud or to your PC with Samsung's Smart Switch app.
As for tutorial I'll try to make one with images for the latest ROM G892AUCU5CTF4 dated 20-Aug-2020 with August security patch. I'll upload it later as I still have to backup my phone before updating.
Thanks!
Thank you so much!
Is it G892AUCU5CTF4 a estable versión for S8 Active? Or does it has any other bugs? I had to "downgrade" and now things are pretty cool, however, I would love to have the newest version. Thank you!

It doesn't have any bugs but some people have issue with flashing new builds, if you have this issue just install CSI3 build or earlier
