n9005 LOS16 (hlte): loosing permanently WLAN-connection - Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 SM-9005 with LineageOS 16. The phone is rootet. From beginning on I have only one problem (everything else is running smooth and fast enough): the WLAN connection is interrupted every few minutes. The interruption longs for about 30 seconds. The GSM connection never interrupts.
The problem is surely inside my phone. My network is running well, I don't have any problems with any other device.
I searched the internet; it seems, that some other phones like Huawei and other Samsungs can have similiar problems. I followed every hint without success.
I gambled with any setting I could imagine like disabling energy management, highest performance, etc, nothing works.
Any idea?

Bernd Hollermann

Does it happen only on Pie?
Which bootloader & baseband versions are you on?

Hi Mohamedkam000!
Thanks for your attention!
I bought this n9005 about three months ago. I didn't use the original software, first thing was rooting and installing TWRP/LineageOS, both latest versions (LOS 17 wasn't available then, so I installed LOS 16). In the meantime I updated LOS a several times hoping the WLAN-problem will be solved. But it didn't.
Bootloader is TWRP almost latest version. Baseband version is N9005XXUGBOJ1 (I wonder how this can help). LOS version is 16.0-20191014-NIGHTLY-hlte.
kr,
Bernd.

Most wifi & ril problems are of baseband, try using N9005ZSUGPJ2, i'm using it and it's awesome.
Maybe you should flash N9005XXSGBRL1 bootloader as well. Good luck.

I dont really get it tho... I have a same issue and a custom ROM that I would like to keep. My baseband version is N9005XXUGBOJ1. My original samsung ROM was Lollipop XME (Malaysia) so I have more that needs to learn. If I flash the Baseband you mentioned above, will my wifi works again and will I LOSE my custom ROM? Since baseband is the controller of all radio features it sounds possible that this is the issue

No, baseband doesn't affect your current os, i don't really guarantee that it'll definitely fix your wifi, just try it and see. And don't forget about the bootloader.

Where to find baseband file?
I struggled a bit with "baseband", but now I think, I understood it: as a part of the firmware it managed the way of using radio-connections like Wifi etc.
I tried to download the baseband N9005ZSUGPJ2 without success. I can only find whole firmwares ~1,3GB! I think the baseband file must contain just a patch of a few kB. Additionally this baseband N9005ZSUGPJ2 is for Hong Kong.
1. Am I right, that the baseband patch is a file ~few kB?
2. If yes, Where can I find it?
3. Mustn't it be a baseband for German purposes, as I'm in Germany?

I think, I found a few answers with the help fo Duckduckgo:
the baseband-files are a part of the firmware. You can download the complete firmware (actually I found a german version from october 2018: https://samsung-firmware.org/de/dow...05-dtm/NmlQY/DTM/N9005XXSGBRI2/N9005DTMGBRJ1/ ). Registration process was a bit confusing as they want to sell premium accounts, but after a while I managed the download the file. It's a zip-file of about 1.4GB. After extracion you can find the related files.

CP files are around ~50 MB, you can find them on Android File Host,
I recommended PJ2 cause i used a lot of versions and PJ2 was the best, you can try a lot as well, check this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=18034
And this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=121230
And also this: https://androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=195193
CP = CellPhone = Modem = Baseband
Good luck

Now I downloaded some different Firmware-Updates, 2 complete files ~1.4GB and a cp-File ~50MB. One of the two complete firmwares contained 4 different files, one named BL-... and one named CP-...; the one with CP contains modem-file N9005ZSUGPJ2, what exactly is what you recommended.
First try was to upload modem.bin via odin. This didn't work, the process stood still while showing "checking file" (or something similiar). So I took the N9005ZSUGPJ2-file, which was a tar.md5-file. This worked.
Upload via odin went through without any errors, but here comes the problem: After reboot baseband-version remains unchanged, still original version. I tried a several times, always the same.
I remembered from rooting, that the phone keeps the old version in mind so I had to interrupt the boot process very early. But here this didn't work.
How did you manage this?
kr,
Bernd Hollermann.

I found a solution in a post , but I don't understand exactly what's going on there:
Before flashing I just took out the battery (I did it for about two minutes). Then I flashed, no errors (like before), but now the baseband-info changed to the new version.
Unfortunately the new modem N9005ZSUGPJ2 doesn't work better than my old one N9005XXUGBOJ1, still the Wifi connection interrupts periodically.
But with this I learned many new aspects of my phone. Thanks to Mohamedkam000.:good:
Next steps: try different modemfiles. If I find a good working file or any other solution to my problem, I will post it here.
kr,
Bernd Hollermann.

Installing baseband is kinda strange, you have to pull out the phone battery for a few seconds, once you revert it, get directly to bootloader, flash the CP.
When it finish, don't let it boot to system, directly hold home + volume down, and flash it again.
Do the same thing again.
I don't know why, but it never worked for me from the 1st try.

Yes, unplugging the battery worked. Now i have the recommended baseband-version.
Unfortunately the wifi connection still isn't stable. After I watched it a few days I cannot see any difference.

Well .. that's really strange, is your hotspot running fine?
Bluetooth? Mobile data?
Try using Audax kernel for stock lollipop: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24369303960685508
Flash via TWRP, if it didn't work, probably it's a hardware problem, you may have to replace the motherboard.

I thought about hardware problems too.
My LAN works very fine, I have about 10 devices with LAN/Wifi-Access without any problem. This single Note3 is the only device not working properly.
The Note3 itself runs very well and very fast in any other way: Bluetooth, Audio, LTE, NFC, ...
Next steps are testing one or two other modem-files. If this doesn't help, I'm looking for another device, maybe another identical Note 3.
I will report here.

Now I realized that most of the modem.ini are identical: most of them have the date 2015-10-16. There is one from vodafone with date 2015-10-28. The PJ2-modem.bin, which Mohamedkam000 recommended, is the newest: 2016-10-21.
I tried all, nothing changed. Remarkable: often the Wifi-connection seemed to be stable, but after 1 or 2 hours it starts to interrupt.
Then - after gambling with settings a.s.o - I realized a very chaotic behavior of the 5GHz-Channel. Before I changed the settings of my access point from dual mode 2.4Ghz+5GHz to just 5GHz, so that the phone MUST choose this. The surrounding Wifi's vanished completely from the Wifi-list (no Wifi's could be found at all), reapperaed a few seconds later, tried to connect to my 5GHz-Wifi, mostly didn't connect (sometimes it does), Wifi vanishes ... . This went on permanently every few seconds.
After that I deleted all Wifi-Networks from phone, set up a single 2.4GHz-Wifi-Channel in access-point and conncted to the 2.4GHz Wifi. Now problems seems to have gone: since about 1 hour every ping has got an answer, no dropouts at all. This never did happen before.
Conclusion: 5GHz component is badly supportet or has a hardware error. I wonder what it will be.
Are there any other people having similiar issues?

I don't know if it's a hardware problem or region based or something, even in Mobile Hotspot, i can't share internet using 5GHz band.
You should know that 5GHz band has a small range, you have to be so close to your router.
Glad to hear your WiFi worked : D

I'm glad to report some big improvements.
That's what I did without success:
I changed to many different modem.ini and back to original modem.ini. These are some of what I tried:
----------------------------------------
N9005XXSGBPL7_N9005TNLGBOK1_N9005XXUGBOJ1_HOME.tar
N9005XXUGBOJ1
51.742.464 Bytes

----------------------------------------
N9005XXSGBRI2_N9005DTMGBRJ1_DTM
16.10.2015

----------------------------------------
CP_N9005XXUGPQB1-Nordic
21.2.2017
56.231.680 Bytes
----------------------------------------
The one from 16.10.2015 is the most spreaded. If you search for "latest version", most are this.
You (Mohamedkam000) recommended the one from 21.10.2016. I installed it; if there were an improvement, it was hard to recognize. I searched hard for newer ones, at last I found the "nordic" from 21.2.2017. Unfortunately the situation has been the same as before. So I switched back to original from 16.10.2015 and - as it turned out, that connectivity seem to be slightle worse - back to nordic.
Then I realized, that GPS is weak too, it takes about 10 minutes to get a sufficient signal (inside my flat; my note 2 needs 30 seconds). Thinking about all my difficulties I decided to disassemble the phone to investigate if there's a recognizable hardware problem. I watched some youtube videos for to know where the screws are and if there's something to be careful about. It's quite simple, but it would be good to have some experience.
I disassembled the inner back cover. Everything seemed to be in a very good condition, but here and there it seemed if there were a slight shadow on surfaces of metal plates a.s.o.; so maybe the phone has been exposed to some moisture. However I cleaned every electric contact on both sides: spring contacts on pcb and plate contacts on cover, with Tunerspray 600 (cleaning fluid for analog tuner parts such as condensator etc, very effective!) and an ear cleaner stick. Beside I bended the spring contacts slightly to have a little bit more contact pressure.
This lead to a big improvement! GPS signal is back to normal (30 seconds for 3D fix using "GPS Test"). Wifi connection is as stable as never before.
I'm going to watch very closely the next days and will report.

Bernd Hollermann.

Nice that you figured it out, was about to tell you, yesterday I saw a post about s10e with gps problems, the guy solved it with simple disassemble & reassemble!

UPDATE: I used to had this problem where Wifi and wifi tethering will not work in any tries to turn them on. How I fixed it? Idk its randomly. It actually started working fine when my phone stuck on boot and it produce too much heat I can say above 80°C and running on that temp for 8 hours. The heat must have melted the solder under the wifi chip abit enough to make contact to the motherboard. So best bet is using heat on the wifi chip

[Q] 3g/4g connectivity issues

Hello guys,
For the last month i have been fighting with connectivity issues on my SG4 i9505.
It starts out with just losing the connection and then getting it back, gradually over time it gets alot worse, so that it then requires using airplane mode and back to normal. along with *#*#4643#*#* disabling radio and enabling it again.
The next step is rebooting, but this does not always help, i often need to suppliment this with a cache format, which in new android versions is a real pain, exp with kitkat due to ART with it compiling. Anyway this is fare from the correct solution to do this multiple times a day.
I have also tried factory wipe, etc without luck, its the same as wiping cache with the side effect of losing my settings.
I tried getting a new simcard from a completely different carrier, this has not helped a bit, i also tried disabling 4g so that it only uses 3g (my carrier does not have 2g connectivity and on my previous carrier using 2g only did not help anything.
i started out with the XXUAME2 baseband, and i am now at XXUEMK9 and it has not helped to upgrade it.
I have been unreliable for over a month, phone calls drop, i can't reply to sms's without rebooting/wiping cache etc, asking around in diff irc channels without luck.
Does anyone have suggestions/solutions to this problem ? I really like to get my phone back up and working.

CM11 apparently does not have screenshot support yet, so i'll just manually write it in.(i am running latest nightly)
model number: GT-I9505
baseband version: I9505XXUEMK9
I am from Denmark, so the phone is unlocked.
I started out with Telenor, then Bibob and now Oister as carrier all 3 have had the same issues.
My phone came stocked with XXUAME2 so i am using the correct firmware according to varrious threads around.

Hi,
I believe you have flashed a wrong baseband, try to downgrade it. I had a similar problem with mine some time ago, I was with bad signal due to an outdated baseband, then when I flashed a new one, it wasn't compatible with my bootloader... So, try checking this thread to get one better for you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2192025.
I got my luck with the MJ5 baseband, I'm with the old bootloader too (UB).
Hope this helps,
~Lord
Hi guys, sorry for the slow reply, i had to be sure before saying if it was working or not working.
I downloaded the original rom/baseband from sammobile and tried it out, this turned out to be alot worse, due to i am unable to clear dalvik cache with the recovery clear cache.
also due to the lack of *#'*#4636#*#* it made the experiance alot worse.
the baseband i am now using is XXUEMKF with KNOX (so i am now knox 0x1)
I'm currently trying out the google edition, but looks like the issue remains.
funny thing is i do remember it working in the past with some old AOSP/AOKP version.
i'm completely lost, expecially due to its so random.
It gets to the point where i am unable to search for networks, and other times there is no issues.
Update:
Ok i've noticed something very strange, its some how tied into the wifi, when i disable wifi i lose my 3g/4g connection and when i enable it again the connection returnes quite fast. though the connection at points, can get lost again.

What Odin version are you using? Do you have installed kies 3 in your PC? If don't, install it to update the drivers and flash that 4.3 Rom you downloaded from sammobile again with Odin 3.09.
Fyi, once you had installed a4.3 knox rom, you are not able to return to a 4.2.2 stock Rom.

I am using odin 3.09 and kies 3 is installed, its been flashed many times
I've tried multiple reflashings, in fact every day last week was 2-5 flashes a day. I install my apps again and set them up each time, takes quite a long time, just to remove it again later on, got any suggestions to saving my apps and settings along with wifi ? (google restore does not work with all roms and is not always effective).
Googling my issue returns quite a few results with people that have simular issues but no solutions.

Sorry, but I only left to think you have a hardware problem...
You can make easy backups for selected user apps with System Tuner, and if you are root also system apps.
Good luck.

[Q] I seem to have killed my WiFi - any suggestions would be appreciated

Hi there. Very sorry to post about this - I've tried my best to solve the issue on my own and doing various searches, here and elsewhere, but to no avail. Long and short of it is that WiFi and Bluetooth both seem to have died on me.
I have a Canadian Bell Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337M). I have been installing Danvdh's Google Edition ROM for some time now, and so far, it's been great. After installing 4.4.4 (clean, after a full wipe), it seemed to work, but my phone froze up - completely unresponsive, including the power switch. Pulled the battery but then afterwards could not turn on WiFi or BT - just says "Turning Wifi On" but nothing ever happens - the message just stays there perpetually. Bluetooth same thing, except the message goes away after a few seconds.
I've tried all of the following to try to restore WiFi, none of which has worked:
- Odin reflash of modem.bin and NON-HLOS.bin, multiple times (from the most recent stock ROM for my device - I337MVLUFNE1, 4.4.2)
- Complete reversion to stock (I337MVLUFNE1, 4.4.2) using Odin - neither WiFi nor BT worked under stock either
- Factory reset while in stock
- After rooting stock, using an SQL editor to check the value of wifi_display_on - it was 0 but just to make sure I set it to 0 again
- After rooting stock, deleting wpa_supplicant.conf in both /data/misc/wifi/ and /etc/wifi/
- Reinstalling Danvdh 4.4.4 (clean), but this time with the Googy kernel rather than the KT kernel (in both cases it was the customized version, not the pure Nexus one)
- Also tried, just for the heck of it, switching to ART to see if that might make a difference - it didn't
- Ringing a bell, opening a book and lighting a candle
In other words, I am at my wits' end. If anyone might have any suggestions - even just a link to some other possible solution I would be most grateful. I have tried searching, both in XDA and elsewhere, for a possible solution and have tried everything I've found, but so far, nothing has worked. Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Please note - I originally posted this in the thread for Danvdh's ROM. I didn't get any feedback there, so suspect I perhaps might be posting the question in the wrong place, so am trying here, in addition to the thread for Canadian S4s. I trust such cross-posting is OK (but if not please let me know).

To be honest, I have no idea if that could be related... on one of my I9300, directly after OTA, I lost the WiFi and BT. Problem was WiFi or/and BT, when I pressed to switch it on, was turning on, for maybe 0.5 sec, and then was turning itself off.
now the funny story: because I unrooted it and cleaned prior to OTA, it was immaculate, so I took it to Sammys hiTech local specialists.
They two times were returning phone to me, stating that they are unable to repeat the problem. So, I asked them to not send it back, and that I'll pick it from Service Centre. I used that opportunity, and asked another local master to show me how to use the WiFi on my 100% working phone. He itself packed it into same envelope and disappeard for half a time, after that itme I was informed that my phone will be sent to me after motherboard replacement.
now, the correlation: no (in theory) action which could affect hardware, obviously CAUSED damage. If I'd be you, I'd try to restore the clean condition, and I'd go to service centre.

Thanks very much - appreciate the suggestion, but the warranty on my phone ended last month, so I'd get hit for a bill for the repair.
You raise a good point - it may well be a simple hardware failure that happened, coincidentally, when I updated. Alas, I wouldn't know where to begin to try to figure out whether or not it is a hardware failure...
I have the same problem with WiFi (bluetooth works though) after upgrading to 4.4.2 today.
The only modification I had done before were CF-AutoRoot and TWR.
I unrooted from SuperSU's menu prior to upgrading to stock 4.4.2 with KIES, everything seemed to work, except now I can't turn on wifi.
Where can I get the modem.bin for a Canadian Bell Samsung Galaxy S4 (SGH-I337M)?
Thanks for any help!
Here's the about screen: (Shouldn't the Baseband version be the same as the build? What gives?)

I don't remember where I got mine but it was extracted from the latest stock rom. Googling the build led me to this page, which seems to have links to download the most recent stock for the S4.
Not sure about your other question. I know when I update a new custom rom, the baseband version doesn't change - that only changes when I update the modem or flash an updated stock rom using Odin. You might also want to try flashing the NON-HLOS.bin file - I read elsewhere that that has helped others. Of course, feel free to also try all the other options I've noted above.
In case it helps other people with the same problem, here's what I did that fixed the WiFi issue:
I flashed the latest modem.bin (twice) and NON-HLOS.bin, but it didn't fix the WiFi.
I flashed the latest stock ROM, and now WiFi works.
Cheers.

[Q] No sound if I push him harder (GSM MODEM, NO CHARGING) ALL IN ONE

Hello,
I have got a really big problem with my Galaxy S4.. It's I9505 - LTE version. I'm from Poland and I am using the 4.4.2 KK ROM.
AP: I9505XXUFNC4
CP: I9505XXUFNA5
CSC: I9505XEOFNC1
From the beginning I am having problems with this piece of rubbish. I think the mainboard is down at the moment, but let me explain you some problems.
1) He is not charging, I can copy files on him, I can do everything with USB, but not charging. He is not charging and he drain battery even if he is plugged to wall/by usb. I have replaced MicroUSB twice. One was 100% original. It doesn't change anything.
2) Problem with no audio after twisting him or removing his cover. I have tried multiple GSM Modems (cause I thought it's this fault) and if every worked (for this moment) the WI-FI was not working. I used ODIN. At the moment I gave him modem.bin from XXUFNA5 and the NON-HLOS.bin from ROM files. Full XXUFNA5 package was taking my WIFI ability off and I could not turn it on cause of KNOX. If someone know how to repair it tell me, the WIFI Fix was not repairing it.
3) Not working camera. If I replaced one it was still not working, then I bought second one 100% original and rear was working, but not the front. So camera app failed after every changing to front.
I hope you will help me.
Point 2) is the most valuable atm.
Thank you,
Jacob.
//AT CLEAR I9505XXUFNC4 THE SOUND IS NOT WORKING SOMETIMES (as well as now) AND TELEPHONE IS LAGGING/CRASHING ALL APPS WHICH HE CAN WHEN I TRY TO CALL SOMEONE/SOMEONE IS CALLING ME/I WANT TO USE DIALLER.
It sounds to me you got some hardware error, but since you flashed so many fixes to your phone, it's hard to tell.
Maybe a silly question, but did you try a factory reset?
What I would do in your case is this:
- Flash Philz recovery.
- Backup your /efs.
- Do a full wipe from the recovery.
- Flash a clean rom (something like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2283194)
- Reflash one of the latest modems. (preferably a different modem then the one you are currently on).
Boot it up and see what it does.
OK, I'm gonna check this out. Im installing ROM right now and will tell you how is going.
Thank you for reply.
///EDIT
I have installed this rom. Im loosing sound in the nearest future after booting. I have not tried to install any other modem. Let me ask you for definite one.
//EDIT2
Now I did XXUFNA5 modem update and I have got no sound, maybe sometimes. WiFi is working, all is working (i think) but no sound.
//EDIT3
XXUDMH6 + NON-HLOS from original 4.4 KK before latest update and I'm having sound all the ways.
The only one problem is I have to work on 2G. If Im on 3G/4G or AUTO i'm getting my network disabled after every call. Here is the problem.. - 2G SPEED. damn it

Are you still on the old bootloader or something? Why are you flashing a 4.2.2 modem?
If you are still on the old bootloader, then that is the cause for your problems. The modem you are using can't be used on the newest bootloader. You need a 4.4.2 modem if you are on the latest bootloader.
Stop flashing non-hlos for now. Just pick one of the latest modems and flash it.

I am on new bootloader. I have knox 0x1.
I was trying everything. After writing this post I had fully functional phone (on 2G) for 30min of walking by city, then I take phone off my jeans and I hear there is no sound again.
I have flashed the newest firmware (XEO) and tried many modems atm. If I flash 'the newest' modem which suggest me sammobile in firmwares section I ain't got no sound anyway. I have just read that modem.bin is for 2G/3G and NON-HLOS.bin for 4G. It will be useful.
//EDIT
I think it's kind of hardware issue... Im having sound, i am trying to put a backcase on it and I'm loosing audio at all. What the heck.. It's like - "let's shake or kick me so i'll loose your sound."

Yes I think you have some hardware issue.
It almost sounds like there is some connector cable giving you trouble. Are you sure the connector cables are not damaged in any way?

Gps problem GTI9505

Hi everyone. My rom is cm 13 but not defined on rom. my problem is actually interesting. i see in view 25~30 but in use 0 on gprs test. i tried clear a-gps , update agps but says clear agps request made. see this problem anyone without me ? thank you in advance.
My trieds..
1-Not working on stock rom. i tried
2-Clear gps or another gps apps i tried but its useless
3- i install modem &boot loader its useless
Hi there - same problem here.
Many solutions suggested points to pay attention to S4 body screws and attach them firm with a screwdriver.
In my case, it didn´t work.
My problem is not hardware problem. i tried everything but its not useless. my signal is good but gprs status & toolbox satellite in view 25 ~30 but unfortunately in use "0"
I had OMEGA´s ROM and since the begining, GPS worked like a charm.
All of sudden, it stopped and I tried all the hints and tutorials found on GOOGLE and here.
I just step back to Stock ROM again and...voilá! GPS working again, 100% functional.
really ? i going back old stock rom on twrp but doesnt working. your stock rom flashed on odin ?

I've had this same issue a while back, but solved it by reflashing original ROM and modem with ODIN (which from there I installed TWRP, Cyanogenmod, etc. to get back to business.....).
You should be able to find your original firmware here: http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/database/GT-I9505/

No, I've never personally encountered that issue myself when I revert back to original firmware and recovery (via ODIN only).
The issue people do refer to is flashing lower than 4.4.2 due to the previously upgraded bootloader.
Just bare with me and do a nandroid backup, then try ODIN flashing your exact original firmware from the link I gave to you above (no lower than 4.4.2 of course).
It will load your original OS, recovery, and modem. If this fails, then we can better ascertain what exactly is the problem and easily progress from there.
Regards.
Ok. Thanks bro
Dont work i install stock rom via odin but still not working whyy???? İ am insane now. Still im view 20~25 stalite but in use 0. İ am going be crazy. Anyone help me ?
Then, I think its time to try to tight a light bit the screws of S4 body.
To be honest, I opened mine and there was a lot of dust & dirt there...certainly, not good for the contacts.
Start open from the botton, using a guitar pick and the entire part will be dettached.
Then, with the pick you can carefully start releasing the body (starting from the sides) and then, in the top left side, you will see GPS connection and antena in the part dettached. Try to clean it and then, firmly attach the screws again, specially this one.
I hope it works!
Dirty gps area possible it ? Because my phone signal is cool

Can you tell us more?
How did it start?
Did something happen to it, or did you just notice it is not connecting?
The most easy things first, is your sim card correctly in place?
Which ROM are you on and have you reflashed it?

The phone started with problems since I upgraded to Android Pie, I have taken care of it very well but I do not know if it is a hardware failure, but note that in baseband turns out to be unknown, I installed several stock roms from fastboot without any success, also I thought it would be a problem of the EFS partition, but everything is fine I even took a backup in case the doubts, what could happen?

Did you originally update via OTA, meaning, was it the official update?
Then when you noticed it's not working, you tried to flash several stock ROMs?
One possible problem that comes to mind, is that for some reason, you have the wrong radio/modem firmware. That can happen for example, if you have flashed a ROM, which is not meant for your region.

Yes, upgrade to Android pie via OTA
I already put a stock rom of the same region, following each fastboot command one by one, but everything continues the same, I even installed RROS 7, to see if at least it turned on the wifi, and it is in bootloop.

Go with the modding guide index: how to restore stock ROM etc., and flash a stock ROM that you know will work. Flash the radio/modem file too, and make sure it's the correct one.
Just to say, I had connection problems too, and in the end they were because the sim card did not latch correctly in place i.e. was not correctly in place.

Great that you have an idea. ?
Here's an idea: take a backup of your current config in twrp, move it to the computer, take a copy. Replace the files in that copy with the ones that you want to flash.
Did you mean this? You are aware that you can try different radio/modem files through fastboot, not having to flash everything else every time? That said, go with your idea. ?

Hello, colud you solve the problem? Because I am havig a very similar one...
Hello group friends, I'm new here. I have a similar problem, I was using the Havoc 2.4 rom, when upgrading to 2.6 I no longer recognize my SIM card and the wi-fi does not connect, I can not install another rom anymore, nor rom stock, recovery TRWP has been replaced by the Havoc and the Wipe System function does not work, and for a few days you can not stay in recovery mode anymore, it restarts every 3 seconds, not the time to click the options. Can someone help me. I'm without a cell phone, and I need it.
I have a similar issue after flashing the latest firmware. SIM goes to "SIM locked" every ten seconds or so, and Wifi drops at the same tie. It's like networking is being reset every 10 seconds. No network settings I've tried change that.
I've flashed several stock ROMs; the one I had previously, newest, oldest, both for RETEU and retail. I used Lenovo restore to upgrade but that resulted in soft brick, after that I flashed the latest firmware via Fastboot and that's when the problem started.
With Oreo, wifi and cellular don't work at all, nothing detected. With Pie they're connected and dropped in a loop. I can't help thinking that the Lenovo restore broke this somehow, but modem files have been reflashed several times after that with no change. I'm not getting the baseband error.

I have the exact same problem, I wasn't able to repair it so I sent it to service and tomorrow they will try to fix it for $35. The problem with goign back to previous versions is that you loose the IMEI and MAC . The problem with the pie version I believe is the baseband. If the service is able to fix it I will post the solution here for you to fix it .

Sorry I answer so late, I didn's see the message before.
I believe you already tried puting it into bootloader mode. If that's the case, I had a similar problem recently an it solved alone, I let it loop for a while and suddenly fell, into dtock recovey, i factory reset (with stock recovery) and somehow stock was booted ( i believe it was because it was in inactive slot).
Hope this helps you

I am still working on this, I actually did this to a work phone (I had permission to root/unroot). Something that has helped me so far is just getting familiar with the whole flashing process - https://android.gadgethacks.com/how...actory-images-android-using-fastboot-0175277/. I think from this article the problem lies in the modem/radio rom. That *should* be the only thing you need to flash on. However, I have noticed with a lot of roms on here, a modem rom is not included on the stock firmware. But that needs to match well to your phone from what I understand. I have tried a few modem roms already, unfortunately, but no luck.
