[help] .... HD failed to boot ..... got black screen

dutty 2.6 rom installed, no problem after reboot
changed the wince.nls, no problem after reboot
but after install chinese ime-only.cab
after reboot showing the rom version, then nothing after that ....
anyones know why, how to fix it ?

Hard reset

I was not able to to the Volup + VolDn thing as I thought this function was faulty.
But since it seems there is no other way, then I have to try it again and agian.
I finally got it work, it requires a little trick there.
but anyway, I got it "hard reset".

Now I have to worry another thing is my 1.5TB hard drive is corrupted. ...

what else?
I've tried hard reset, but i still can't boot . Any suggetions what to do else?

why not start off by saying what you did to cause it not to boot, that way you will get an answer.

woops sry - i did a rom update of my new blackstone, from htc.com/dk website. After the update i got the same problem as this thread: Black bootscreen with rom and radio version text in right bottom. I've tried hardreset with same result (stops at bootscreen). I tried reinstall the rom but got basicly the same result, with one exception: i actually got as far as to the windows loadscreen saying: "...Will install as when u bought it..." (or something very close to that.
Hopes this clarifies my issue

random thought... y dont u reflash with a lower ver rom first... may help..

Ah yes - but i tried find a lower DK - version; i got a v1.00. But when i try running the RUU it halts at 0%. The version the device came with was v1.19, but i can't find a danish version of that ROM. I tried a WWE, but i got a vender id error.

After flashing: when to do the hard reset?

Hi there,
Normally when I flash my rom and the device reboots automatically, I remove the battery when I see "Smart Mobility", place the battery back and do the hard reset.
I was wondering, is this the right way to do it? It sounds like you could mess up the phone by doing that.

never heard that... But I always do it the secure way: let the phone finish booting and then shutdown + hard-reset... costs you 2 minutes

Personally I remove battery at smart mobility screen and hard reset before phone goes to automatic setup. I've flashed hundreds of roms with no issue doing this....plus it saves me a couple mins each time

Why Hardreset?
why is it necessary to make a hard reset ? When i flash my new ROM the HTC does make a hardreset itsself - or am i wrong with it ?

I just hard reset it when you get the white screen saying update complete (sd flash method) duz me fine lol

Flashing a ROM, cleans only some of the files on the device, if I am not mistaking. If you do a hard reset, then you delete the extra "bagage", that the previous ROM left.

Do i need to flash also radio ? or just flashing a rom will be enough ? I want to flash a ROM but I do not know if I need to flash radio same time ????
Please enlighten me about this issue.

Radios and roms have nothing to do with each other, you could use 100 diffrent roms with your stock radio and there will be no problem, on the other hand diffrent radios mite give you better power management or reception

Personaly i`ve flashed 50+ roms and never hard reset anytime.
I`ve never had any issues and only suffer the same bugs that everybody else in the threads are suffering...

SPL 3.08 Warning

To all Prophet users
I flashed this SPL in the belief that it would improve the quality of the phone, but since doing this it went completey bananas with the following faults.
1. would hardly ever power up.
2. when it did power up more often than not it either went into bootloader, hung on splash screen or on the windows screen.
3. had to keep hard reseting until it did work.
4. would lose programs at random.
5. unable to flash shipped NVID rom.
6. flashing hardSPL made no difference.
7. unable to unlock CID using lokiwiz2b.
8. flickering screen.
9. battery lasts about 10 hours if your lucky.
10. battery won't charge unless removed for about 20 minutes.
11. possibly lose Wifi.
12. can not downgrade SPL.
Basically avoid this SPL like the plague. It was intended for the Charmer and not the Prophet.
The only way I sorted it out in the end was to bin the motherboard. A bit drastic I know but luckily I had a spare.
If anyone does have a solution perhaps they would be kind enough to share thier knowledge as I believe a lot of users have had the same problems.

in my case mobile doesn't start without a charger and after that i cant put it in Bootloader mode and can't even soft/hard reset the phone. after getting on phone works very slow and cant it flash also........ what to do ????? Pls if any one can help

why would u flash a SPL version not supported for the prophets and not even recomplemented by our chiefs? and is the anyway to fix this problem aswell there was already a topic about this I think its a flash error as that SPL is not for our Device at all I dont know what to tell you but I remember a user said that he is working on a fix for this problem you can contact him and ask him if he had any luck he is here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=512541 user Dixiesmu good luck

I have nearly sorted this out, but need one more piece to the puzzle.
Can someone please be kind enough to tell me where the IPL and SPL are stored on the phone.
Is it in the DOC or the External Rom

If you follow the second link in post 4 this gives you the info required and it does work.
Follow this link and download the ORANGE UK Rom.

Put your phone into bootloader and flash HARDSpl then flash the no ID rom and then follow the information provided in post 4 2nd link.
It takes a few attempts but IT does work.
Many thanks to ASRDIAS for working this one out. I am still working on a better solution and will post when available.

Yes I am still on the case, but for the momment stay with the original solution as my prophet is in for repairs. Found out the hard way that kids, xmas, baths and prophets are not a healthy mixture

Really bad problem

Hello all.. lately i connected my HTC Touch HD to my pc using active sync.. when the active syn program on pc started syncronization my htc hd restarted !!..
i thought this is some little problem but when my htc turned on again i re-connected it again and did the same and it restarted all over again.. so i tried many times but it didnt work.. please tell me any solution because i searched xda-developers too much and i didnt see any such problem.. please help asap..

Have you installed Active sync? And do you have Win XP ou´re Win 7 if Win 7 than you have Active sync already installed. If XP than you have to install Active Sync, and check all connections you want.

Try uninstalling & re-installing activesync on device. If this fails, backup device and do a hard reset.

Hello Macroy.. thanx for ur quick reply.. well i have windows xp and i have active sync already installed.. and i use it everyday to sync my contacts and things.. but i had that problem i told u about only in the same day i sent my problem here..
and about the hard reset thing, i realy dont wanna use that choice.. i mean maybe theres some solutions before i have to hard reset it.. so please try to help me..

Did you try to uninstall activesync then re-install it?
If activesync is not the issue and your device continues to reset itself, it does look like your only option to to hard reset device (or flash a new rom). Again backup everything before you do this, i.e. contacts, emails, etc etc

No probs mate. A step-by-step guide has already been created by my good mate here. Just follow this and you'll be fine. Any issues you have with flashing roms should be posted in that thread. Remember, flashing a rom will also result in your device been reset, i.e. similar to a hard reset so you need to backup beforehand

HELP! hd2 doesnt boot anymore, stays on white htc logo

ive installed spl 2.08
then i installed the rom called hd20 which was working pretty good . after one month it didnt work well and i removed the bettery, now it doesnt boot anymore.
tried to install a rom via sdcard on the colour screen. ive tried it with artemis and a custom rom....... no reactions
please i need help

unless the artemis rom is different, you need to flash a radio, check out the didicated thread in "rom dev" and see what they reccomend

if you get it into bootloader is shuold say connected by USB in this case you can still flash the radio in the exact same way you flashed the rom.
in regards to warranty, flashing custom roms does void warranty but its not the be all of end all, you can flash back to stock but thats something you will need to read about as its quite a lengthy explenation.

with xp you use ActiveSync and vista its Windows Mobile Device Center but the whole flashing process is the same

yeah, by all means do a custom rom, they may seem quite daunting and we all make **** ups but once you've done it once or twice its a piece of cake.
check my sig, read through the help threads and you shuold be ok.

when installing a custom rom always check the Required HSPL and Radios, I have made that mistake before. Once you know what you are doing flashing is a breeze.

then ....
after a freeze with the massage low battery my phone didnt react anymore so i took out battery.
but then ......... it is not reacting at all, it is switched of i cant turn it on
i hope that maybe the battery is broken
but warrenty is lost
somebody can help?

or should i just find a mobileshop who can tell me whats wrong with my hardware

I'm guessing you've tried that, but just in case (since your message doesn't say you did) : have you tried charging the phone for a while and turning it on again (even while connected to the charger)?
If you did try that, you might want to try with another battery, but it would be better if you had a friend with a HD2 to try with his battery before buying a new one.
If you still get nothing, then you'll probably have to send it for repairs..

lucky i have a friend with a hd2, i hop it will be the battery or charger
but if not should i send it to htc or to sombodyelse, beause they will properbly send it back whitout even putting a hand on my phone????

Well I'm not sure you have another choice but send it to HTC unfortunately.
You just have to hope they can't turn it on either and send you a replacement under warranty, because if they turn it on and see you've installed HSPL and a custom ROM, you'll probably have to pay for the repairs.
