Stylus keeps falling out... - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello,
As the title say's, the stylus keeps falling out of my Qtek 9000. In order to fix this I have to open my Qtek but dont have the proper tools for it.
Somebody knows which seize the small torx screws have so I can look on the web for one?

I had the same problem a long time ago, then found a thread with this same question
I solved by placing a piece of tape on tha plastic part of the stylus (Of course with the same shape so it not looks bad) and voila!
Hope it helps for you

I am not interested in putting some tape on the stylus as I think that this is only a tempory measure!
There has been a tread here where somebody showed us how you can fix the internal plastick "spring" which holds the stylus, but for this I have to open the PDA...So if somebody knows the torx screw number, that would help me!
Thx!

Well I have almost a year with my tape on it without opening my pda and even it´s hidden so you don´t even see it
I dont mind changing tape once or twice a year really
Anyway good luck and if you find another solution please let all us know
Cheers,

Ok guys, its a T-6 you need to open your Qtek 9000...lets see that the patient survives the operation!

It was a 5min job...a small drop of 2component glue and voila!
I think that the plastick "spring" got "tired, its like new now!
See pictures...

Cool!!
I´ll test it soon as I can
Merci!

Can anyone tell me what this is?????

Hi There,
Im in the process of changing the LCD screen on my jam, and during the removal of the housing, a little black thing fell out. I have no idea what it is and where it needs to go.
I have attached a photo of it hoping someone knows what it is and where it needs to go.
Thanks.
Does it look like something that broke off? Eg. With sharp egdes. If thats the case, chances that you won't be able to fix it back in.
Anyway, it looks too small to be an individual 'component'.
I thought it was normal to end up with more bits when you put something back together.... :$
No, Its a whole part, nothing broke while I was dismantling it. It looks like it's used with a switch or something. I'm surprised no one has mentioned it in the "Jam Housing" thread. I was really careful when opening the unit, and it fell out easily when I tipped the unit over.
Damn, looks like ill be ordering new housing too
I think it should go somewhere near the sliding volume control..
fixator
it looks like fixation of stilus inside the set in the place of stilus`s recess ,but my mda compact has it white color
Hello, that piece both covers holes that there are near the Sd card. I think that the function is that not between the dust in the machine, by the holes where the cord puts to hang. Moan my badly English, is a translation of google. Greetings
It covers these holes. Greetings
I also had the same problem when I opened my magician. From my experience, that part could be the hinge/lock that holds down the screen on one of it's side.
I could be wrong though.
Got it!!!!!!!

Dokoto, YOU GOT IT!!! Thanks heaps, now I can put it back together without worrying.
I'm surprised this isnt a common problem, it falls out so easily. Maybe once everything is back in place, something will hold it in.
Anyway, I've attached a pic to show everyone where it lives, incase someone else has the same problem.
Thanks again Dokoto!!

O2 exec cann't stylus problem

Hello everyone. does anyone have the same problem as my problem now? my exec cann't hold the stylus anymore if i turn it sideway down the stylus will drop out. any idea how to fix . thanks.
A lot of us have this - some have suggested wrapping a tiny piece of tape around the stylus.
Matt
try the above method or use a bit of bluetack or putty on its holder that will hold it stable and yeah its a very common problem as its holder is of plastic and gets loose within a month only so dont worry .
thank you so much I will try it.

Searching for someone who have dismantled his niki

Hi I have recently let my niki fall while the sliding sreen was opened. Since then I have noticed that the screen part of the phone move a little when the phone is closed. It's really unpleasant when you hold it closed in your hand because it's always moving and doesn't give you the initial sensation of rigidity...
I think I have bend the rail that the screen part usually follow and I wonder if there is an easy way to dismantle the two parts of the phone to rebend the rail properly.
We can see two cross-shaped screw behind the screen when the phone is opened I don't know what it holds so I'm asking for a handyman who have already dismantle his phone or had this kind of trouble and can tell me if the sliding rail is easily reachable and not too difficult to put the two part together again
(I have a bad experience in dismantleling electronic device and I know that it's often easy to dismantle but when you put it together again It's worth than before...)
Thank you for your help
why not send it to HTC assistance? the device is probably in its warranty and you don't need to worry about it
I have bought it on ebay, and althought it was said to be warranted, the warranty seal was tapped...
That's why I'm asking for your help :S
ow :s that's a problem :| sorry, I have no idea on how to help you
...
It's very easy to disassemble the NIKI the Display Part and the Other.

Do you have the service manual? If not get it here www.mikechannon.net
Have you taken out all four screws including the one under the void sticker?
There are little plastic click into place catches all around the casing. You should use a plastic case opening tool or plastic knife to loosen these. To put it in technical language - you need to "wiggle it around a bit" to get the catches to release thir grip
(Just a note- what you are trying to do needs a big dismantle, and it is quite complex if you have never done this kind of thing before, you will meet things more complex than getting the cover off!)
Mike
i got it. Now it seems to work. if not i will contact you again, thx

I hope it continues to work. BUT unfortunately white screen problems have a habit of coming back again.
Good luck

Hermes slide indicator not working

Hi there,
Maybe someone can explain me, where is the hermes's slide indicator (or.. I don't the correct term, sorry for my bad English). My friend gave me his phone, after he was trying to change phone's cover to original htc tytn cover (of course, top part of the case did not fit on that hermes, but bottom case fit's ok). And after he assembled all parts - phone did not recognize when you are sliding the keyboard, and the screen is not turning to landscape position.
And now I want to fix it for myself, ant had tried to search where is that indicator, which 'sees' when you slide the phone. And when I disassembled - I just cant identify that thing. Only one place in my inexperienced eye is suspicious - http://img65.imageshack.us/img65/8708/dscf7321.jpg this place, in other side of LCD, where the hinges(?) is placed. But I can't understand, how its working (I have other HTC TYTN, but it's under warranty, so I cant dissasembly it to try use other parts, o smth..).
So, I would be grateful if someone could lead me to the right road' to fix this problem... if it's possible.
Thanks,
Laimis.
Yes your friend forgot to move the screen orientation magnet from the old case to the new one!! New cases do not have the magnet attached you have to move it from the old case.
See here:

Thank you, Mike!
you were right there is no magnet on the new case, so now I will wait until my friend will send me an old case.
