O2 exec cann't stylus problem - JASJAR, XDA Exec, MDA Pro General

Hello everyone. does anyone have the same problem as my problem now? my exec cann't hold the stylus anymore if i turn it sideway down the stylus will drop out. any idea how to fix . thanks.

A lot of us have this - some have suggested wrapping a tiny piece of tape around the stylus.
Matt

try the above method or use a bit of bluetack or putty on its holder that will hold it stable and yeah its a very common problem as its holder is of plastic and gets loose within a month only so dont worry .

thank you so much I will try it.

How to tighten Keyboard Slider Mechanism?

Hi Champs,
the Keyboard on my MDA Vario (T-Mobile) is very loose.
Meaning, that it slides out nearly by itself
Is there any way to make it harder / tighten it? Has someone done it and can explain on How To (maybe with pictures)?
Thanks in advance!
Oliver
Sorry that I do not have any solution for you and share your concern.
It is unfortunate that HTC did not learn anything from the Blue angel. I had the i-mate pda2k (blue angel) and it too had similar loose keyboard problem. Now we have the brand new Wizard and the same loose keyboard.
In the end I think it is our fault (myself included) because whatever they make we are prepared to spend our hard earned money on it
Just my views
Kind Regards
Noone has any tips or tricks to help on this?
It is getting worse! And T-Mobile claims that this is normal and will not exchange it :-(
Oliver
I did it once
Hi Oliver,
I did it once, my wizard wasn't to loose and in fact I didn't wanted to tight the keyboard but I feel it more tight after I disassembled my wizard (trying to fix the center-not-working problem of the touchscreen) I think that what did the trick was to tight the srews that support the screen when you open the keyboard (you won't be able to see them without disassembling). I whould advise you to search for some pics of the wizard disassembled and look for those srews.
PS: I see is a old post, wish it helps or already fixed =)
See the little bumps in this picture (red circles around them)?
Build those bumps up with some very thin coats of clear epoxy, or even with a very hard clear nail polish (allow to dry over night, either way, before closing the keyboard). That should keep your phone shut.
It'll still slip like a sweaty whore on a greased air mattress once you clear those bumps, but it should keep your phone shut until you want it open. You can do the same thing at the other end, but you'll have to disassemble for that, and if you're doing that, you might as well try Edgar's suggestion first, anyhow.
get this: when i use the **** button on the keyboard, it keeps locking in to shift mode. i then would have to hold shift to typ normally then relase shift to type a symbol. so one cone say the shift function is working in reverse. is there a fix?

Start a new thread, this one is about loose keyboards, not stuck buttons.
But to answer your question: Disassemble your phone and clean it thoroughly. Use cotton swabs or lint-free cloth, and isopropyl alcohol, and keep at it until you don't see any streaks or debris on anything. Blow completely dry with canned air, or allow to air dry overnight before applying power. Any streaks mean you still haven't got the dirt off (you just smeared it around). Once it's super clean, reassemble and test. You'll probably be pleasantly surprised by the improvement in the performance. Some get by without disassembly just by hitting the gaps in the buttons with canned air, but that's only a temporary fix.

i got mad and i punched my cingular 8125 and i need help.

hiya. i have a small problem. i got really mad and slammed my fist down on my cingular 8125.
when i hit it, the battery cover flew off but that's about it. i checked meticulously and i don't see any damage whatsoever, almost brand new, not dents...
but the STYLUS comes out a lot easier now then it did before. does anyone know what could have happened? what is the thing that latches the stylus inside the phone in the first place?
thanks a million!
Stylus gets loose like that normally anyhow. There is a small plastic catch inside near the top of the wizard (see the groove on the end of the stylus that it clicks onto) that becomes defective. Fixes are tape on end of stylus, bluetack or bit of plastic bag inside. Occ people have taken device apart but only for v. experienced - i use tape
thank you! i'm just surprised how it could go defective from hitting it when the unit itself appears undamaged.
I don't know how well this would work with Cingular but, some users from other carriers were able to get warranty repairs for that problem. Just don't tell them that you did it with your fist, OK ^_^
The 8125 doesn't have the stylus problem as far as i know, just the wiza 200's. This may be something else.

Tighten the stylus holder

Hi guys, after one year using, my Universal still in strong form except the stylus always fall out if the unit is pointed down, any trick to tighten it without open the device? TIA.
I've applied couple of layers of cellotape just above the ring. It has been quite reliable and has not fallen out since then
Thanks
Thank you, it's simple but works well!

Stylus lost in Hima

Help anyone,
I have this real "handy" stylus with a pen inside.
Only problem with it is that you dis assemble it (upper and lower piece and a pen) Sometimes it occurs that the lower part from the stylus disassembles itself in the stylus shaft, normally it falls out.
And there is the problem, it is stuck in the shaft I can not get it out.
Is it possible to disassemble my hima to reach it, or has anyone a better solution??
Yes u can get it out..u have to dis-assemble ur Hima
read this guide on how to : http://rapidshare.com/files/67082526/HTC_Himalaya_Service_Manual.zip
get a lollypop stick with some bluetack on the bottom of it and try getting it out like that, dont put much blutak on though or your lolly pop stick will be in there too. Thats how i retrieved the stylus end when it happened to me,saved having to disassemble it, even though taking it apart is not that big a job ,unless you dont have a torc screwdriver

Stylus keeps falling out...

Hello,
As the title say's, the stylus keeps falling out of my Qtek 9000. In order to fix this I have to open my Qtek but dont have the proper tools for it.
Somebody knows which seize the small torx screws have so I can look on the web for one?

I had the same problem a long time ago, then found a thread with this same question
I solved by placing a piece of tape on tha plastic part of the stylus (Of course with the same shape so it not looks bad) and voila!
Hope it helps for you
I am not interested in putting some tape on the stylus as I think that this is only a tempory measure!
There has been a tread here where somebody showed us how you can fix the internal plastick "spring" which holds the stylus, but for this I have to open the PDA...So if somebody knows the torx screw number, that would help me!
Thx!

Well I have almost a year with my tape on it without opening my pda and even it´s hidden so you don´t even see it
I dont mind changing tape once or twice a year really
Anyway good luck and if you find another solution please let all us know
Cheers,
Ok guys, its a T-6 you need to open your Qtek 9000...lets see that the patient survives the operation!
It was a 5min job...a small drop of 2component glue and voila!
I think that the plastick "spring" got "tired, its like new now!
See pictures...
Cool!!
I´ll test it soon as I can
Merci!
