When i try to update my Xperia via Sony Update nothing happens.
I see the first screen where they tell how to start and connect the phone to the PC.
My Xperia shows the color screen and says it has been connected via USB.
My phone has no simlock.
I did not use HardSPL because the update programm did not tell me to do so.
Can anybody tell me what's wrong.

did you download the last version of Sony update? check whether your phone is accepting the sync previously.

I got a really annoying problem when trying to update my girlfriends X2 with SEUS (SonyEricsson Update Service).
What i do is: I start SEUS and klick next until the instructions comes up.
Enter "bootloader mode", pressing the volume down and power button so the SE logo with the white background shows and then connect the micro-usb cable to the phone...
BUT
After that the computer finds a new hardware: "Data interface"... When i let it find the drivers it does'nt find any drivers... When I click "finish" it continues to find 3-4 more "Data interface" with the same result.
Anyone know how to bypass this?
THE REASON TO WHY I NEED TO UPDATE THE PHONE!:
The phone is empty... I wanted to factory reset the phone, and everything did well until it tried to customize (install the X2 specific tools) the phone...
It freezes at "_setupJbed.CAB"
What OS are you running? Is it allowed to check with Windows Update (for example) for drivers etc?
It really should not be a problem. If you are running the latest version of SEUS. You could remove, re download and re install SEUS an then try again. SUES is supposed to install that generic plug and play driver on your system.

what spwcific tools-u meses upp x2...you have to flash it with the box-only service shops or SE store have that box and programs to solve that..if u are nota able to turn on x2 and do again factory reset-x2 is done. go to service shop

Yes it is allowed to check with Windows Update. I did it too but it did'nt find anything that way...
Yeah I know.. Last time it did install the generic PnP drivers, but now it does'nt...

I am able to turn it on, but it's like an empty windows..
Everytime I restart the phone it asks me if I want to factory-reset it, and when I tap "Yes" it freezes at istallation of "_setupJbed.CAB"

I have an idea for you.
Press no to the factory reset and let the phone start up, then...
yes, I know this is tedious but install all the individual cabs from an extracted ROM you want one by one. When completed you should have a full version again. You can even try to see if the update works again.

Please make sure you only install the cabs relevant to which OS you have o the phone. This means... if you have 6.5.2 then only get cabs from a 6.5.2 Rom. Ditto for 6.5.3

the phone SI is 1230-4521.6
And the software installed is R1A006, but it do not have radio inside, so I download the GENERIC_TW_R3AA035_CABS inside this site, and install all the cab.
After that, I use Sonyericsson Update Service to update, but it say
"Failed to detect product
This product could not be indetified.
Please disconnect it and try again."
I try it a few times, but still show the same message, so what can I do for that?

SI has generic_SG so why did you put the cabs from TW on?
Just try the following: Go to settings and clear / reset phone. After you have alinged the screen and it restarts to start the Customization, remove immediately the battery and restart the phone.
When it asks to do the customization now, say NO. Let is start up.
The turn it off and connect to SEUS, go into bootloader mode (volume up/power button hold until white screen with SE logo!) and hope/pray/cross fingers (or whatever!) that SEUS will update it.
If it really works, DO NOT EVER PLAY AROUND WITH THINGS YOU DO NOT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anything suggested here is for Advanced Users! Not people that dont know squat. Sorry but that is the way it is. If you break your phone after you attempted some of those suggestions........ too bad. You got a brick!

Why dont you try to repair it with pc companion...

By doing this you will lose all your phone data... all
Connect your phone with your pc.
If you dont have the pc pompanion installed on your pc, click to install it from the notification that come up when you connect the phone with the pc.
Then Run pc companion, click start on support zone
and if there is a problem with your phone there will be option for repair (i think makes an update).
Or you can just update your phone...

i tried flashing the new gingerbread 2.3.3 software update to my Xperia X10a but while it was in the process, it said flashing aborted, unplug etc... when i turned on my phone all it did was go to the Sony Ericsson screen, then it turned off!!! can anyone help me fix my phone!?

It appears because I'm a noob !
I tried to restore system + data from my 2.1 backup !
Then the phone rebooted and rebooted again. (block with the text sony ericsson on the screen)
But I've passed through.
Fortunatly xRecovery was installed and accessible.
I've pluged directly the sdcard to the computer and copied the rom from here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192988
Then pluged again the sdcard in the phone and installed the rom from xRecovery.
I'm currently reinstalling the official update.

I am having problems with my phone.. I tried to upgrade the ROM to gingerbread 2.3 and I followed the instructions in this forum in upgrading the phone. However, when I was in the xrecovery mode to continue with the update, and searched and installed gingerbread from SD it says "successful" then rebooted the phone. but after Reboot m phone is stucked in the "Sony Ericsson" text, not even getting through the sony ericsson logo..
I tried the repair from PC Companion but the download is not going through for the update software, it always say that there is a problem with my internet connection but my internet connection is fine, I am able to connect to my emails and social networking sites..
Hope someone will help.. please...
If PC COmp doesnt work, try SEUS otherwise register at wotanclient. its free to flash...
