Help !
I cannot turn on my Atom life. When I pluged in the USB cable to charge my device the red LED start to blink fast and then slower but when I press power button the red LED blink faster again. Also When I take out the battery and put it in again the LED blink faster. I don't know what happen so I try to charge it for an hour but the battery doesn't seem to warm like normal thing (It still cold). Right now I don't think about dead bootloader yet because I haven't update any rom since last month. Anyone have an idea ? Dead bootloader or Dead Battery ?
Rom:WM6.1 OS 5.2.19199 (Build 19199.1.0.0)
Last month I got a new battery but my Atom often shut off by it self (The time also reset to the defult.).
Hey Thank you now I found the solution ! It's the battery. Now I enjoy using my Atom Life.
Thank

got an spv m500,i think its the same as the old xda mini?
it will only power up when the charger is plugged in,but only stays at the windows logo screen which also displays the rom details etc.
the charge indicator doesnt light up either!
any ideas?, could the battery be duff!
Well if the battery doesn't give out power, and the charge indicator doesn't light, then its probably safe to say that the battery is gone. But there is the possibility that your USB charging port is faulty - which might need a bit of solder work.
As for the ROM not starting up, how long have you waited? Some ROMs, especially BigStoraged ones, can take up to 10 minutes on their first start. If it still fails to start, a reflashing of the ROM might be in order - though you can't do this with a dead or not-so-good battery.
Hi all ... I got a new battery for my Universal and it worked fine for few weeks. Then I got a new device (Kaiser) and I no long use my old one for about 3 months. When I tried to use the Universal again I discovered that the charging led is always off and when I remove the battery it turns on in red ... I 'm sure it's a battery issue coz when I put the old battery back the charging led goes on.
so, the question is: could be the battery dead bcoz I didn't use the device for few months ? ... and if so, how can I fix it ?
TIA
This is a somehow "tough" question, answer is not easy without inspecting the battery electrically, but, with a multimeter you could check the battery's voltage, check it, it should not be too low (above 2.5V), if it's lower, try to fully recharge it (leave it on charge inside the phone at least one night).
Universal does three things when the battery is discharged:
If it has been fully discharged, it might show the red led for a couple of minutes (while the battery acumulates enough energy to begin the boot), or stays red when the battery is missing.
Orange led (in charge) or nothing for a couple of minutes, then orange (this might be your case), it means that the battery is not dead but the device is booting and while the system returns to "idle" it cannot give you any indication of charge (because you need a "idle" state to have such message).
After so much words, it might be more convenient just to buy another battery, with today's prices...
thx so much for all this info .. actually in my case the led is always off when the new battery is inserted .. it goes in orange with the old battery ... so, im sure the charging circuit is ok ... I just wonder what happened to this new battery which have not been used except for few weeks
it might just be dead, poor quality batteries are the most commond these days, even more if you bought it thorugh Ebay.
Hi! i've bought an used Qtek 9090. the problem is that this Qtek don't power on! it doesn't go on bootloader mode, doesn't go on hard reset ecc... but when i charge it, the red led turns on!
what can i do? please help me
well try to charge the battery only in the cradle
if this not help try to borrow working battery from someone, if your device does not start even with working battery then you are screwed (a hardware problem of some kind)
no i think the battery is ok.
there is a way to restore the bootloader? i've read about the jtag, but i don't know anything... can you explain?
Battery is charging only when the LED is orange/amber. Red means problems with charging - that's why xplode proposed putting the baterry directly in the cradle, as it can "fix" the battery.
Well the red light means there is problem, the most comon problem is the battery, but the red light is also shown with motherboard, bootloader, kernel, and other problems
one more option is there. if the battery is not charged from a long time it needs a shock before recharging to activate the electrons. u should apply some 12v at 1 or 1.5 amp for 15-30 sec. than battery will get a little charge which is sufficient to turn on the phone once.................... but do not apply this voltage regularly or for long time.
Hi i have a problem. Yesterday my Prophet battery goes to 0%, when i back to the home I plug-in it to charger. The light-emitting diode start flashing, but i can't turn on my phone. After 8 hours connected to charger Prophet still won't work. DO you have any idea? Maybe this is battery problem?
PS. Sorry for my poor english.
same with me,my dopod 818 pro won't turn on after 2 month not use,i try to charge, but the led not light..its off..i have no idea witn this problem, please help me to solve.thanks
Same problem with my Prophet.
After 3 month of no use wont charge and wont go on, no light of chargin nothing.
Is the orange light on when it is plugged into power without battery???
Any one solve this problem????
Thank you
UPDATE
I open the battery and fill it with 3,5V directly on battery inner contacts for few minutes
( directly on battery contacts red + and black - and I control it with multimeter to see how the voltage rising up. )
After aprox 3 minutes I try to power it up.
AND IT WORKS!
I put it on charge and the orange light went on and strat charging the battery. The phone now works.
So it is the battery issue. ( Last night I put it on power over the night and nothing no charge at all, what a stupid system )

Now, before 1 week i have the same problem, my qtek s200 after update whit wm6.1. OK 1 month everything was ok, but after that /i don't now where i go wrong but no matter/ that my phone start stuck in bootloader. I let it one night on to see, maybe will turn, and at the morning he wont start, even the light wont start wen i put the carger on. I take one charger/from sony erricson/ cut cable, there are 2 cables, take off the battery of my pda, put directly cables from sony charger in to battery, black is minus, red is plus, but don't worry, there is no problem if you make mistake.Let it like that 1-2 hours, put battery back on pda and everything will be OK.Now in my case my ROM fu** up, i go to tree color screen/see more info how to do that/ and replace the ROM.and next time do not full dry the battery.Hope i help.

i already try to charge my batery...
my result is..
while i'm charging i saw the red light blinking..after certain period...my x2 only got backlight and my batery become hot and hot...
blinking red light while charging means your batt is low and it blinks till it get lil more juice in it
as for batt gettin hot its quite normal
dont try to turn the phone whiler charging try to charge for bout 30min and unplug it then try to turn it on
if this doesnt help it may be faulty batt
still the same.....
i already try to replace new batery..when i press the power button...my x2 vibrate and backlite on..i wait but only my backlite on...hmm...i dont know why???
Borrow or buy a new battery. I had the EXACT same problem, bought a new battery with wall charger from SE and now i have 2 working batteries.
