crashed update - 5.17 bootloader & restore doesn't work

I was doing a rom upgrade which failed after updating the bootloader to the progress bar - so far no prob. Was happy to re-cradle the device and start again, which was happy to begin until it came back with;
The ROM image you are trying to upgrade is not compatible [to] your Pocket PC.
Here are the differences;
Your Device Information;

OK, I have tried both ROM kitchens and am unable to create an image of type .nbf with the NBF Header string which will fool the installer. A couple of times I received a failure in the kitchen with folders non-existent, but more recently completed the build but still no joy. Have tried all possible rom bases.
I was able to create a Bootloader patch SD, but only after unsuccessful timewasting with XDARit 1.2, finally found 1.0 and voila. Of course now I get the diagnostic menu but cannot seem to create a correct image SD to boot because it always reverts to the patch menu again when I tell it to restore. I don't think I am doing anything wrong in image creation, and have tried both the XDARit and XDATools method. No joy.
Any clues? At the moment it is not heavy enough for a boat anchor, and the white screen is not bright enough for a torch!
Appreciate any suggestions asap.

Ritmo-Unido thanks for that. Not sure any of my ISPs will allow 16Mb of attachment though. 4.00.16 sounds like the go. Let's give it a try. Otherwise share it under Kazaa or something and I will find it if you like.

Extra information for those others interested; reading through other posts this is a problem other Australian owners appear to have had also. Must be something peculiar to the Asian 5.17 Wallaby?

Prophet STUCK at BootScreen (2.10.0001 G4 Orange)

My Prophet Stuck at bootscreen , with displayed
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.10.0001
GSM 02.07.20
OS 1.0.13.21
It happened after I tried to downgrade it.
PLEASE, tell me how to recover it ?
I had wizard before, and have some experience with backup/downgrade/upgrade/IMEI Change. Also I have backup of the phone, made by aWizard.
But this time i missed line that downgrade is NOT for G4 (2.xx.0001) ROMs. Is it possible to downgrade G4 (2.xx.0001) ROM ? Or is it possible to use iWizard w/o downgrading ?

Problem solved ! Please, stick this post up - I saw A LOT of people in this forum to ask how to resolve situation with "STUCK ON START-UP SCREEN" ... no one full answer. So ... solution :
1 step. Download one working for YOUR G3 or G4 version ROM. You can easly recognize the difference
G4 ROM on startup screen looks like
IPL 2.10.0001
SPL 2.13.0001
Look at last digit - if it's like 0001 - its G4 ROM. If it ends like 2.00.000, or just 2.00 - then its G3 hardware version.
So G4 (2.XX.0001) users can use any G4 ROM like this one ( tested by me ) -> ftp://xda:[email protected]/JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_ship.zip
G3 (2.XX) users can use this ROM -> ftp://xda:[email protected]_AKU23_023021_P12MB_PDAMobiz_v2307.exe This ROM is not tested by me, but I have read a lot of good responses about it.
2 step. First prepare the phone - full charge battery. After that, hold CAM + COMM buttons ( on the left side of the phone ) and reset it. You will be bringed to so sadly famous "three colors screen". Now connect your phone through USB and start Updating program that you have downloaded before. Sit back for about 15 minutes ( dont get nervous when it stucks on 80% ... it had to pass it after time). If everything goes smooth - after reset you must to have working phone again.
2A step. If you get error message ( like I did first time )
ERROR [294] : INVALID VENDER ID
You have to make few steps, a little more complicated then pressing NEXT buton couple of times.
First, download this cracked version of ROM Update Utility program. Can be found here -> ftp://[email protected]/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip , then
1. Download and install WinRAR ( http://www.rarlabs.com/ )
2. Click with right button on program that updates ROM ( like RUU_Prophet_G3_2151327_AKU23_023021_P12MB_PDAMobiz_v2307.exe ) and choose Extract to...
3. Replace in directory you just extract archive file ROMUpdateUtility.exe with the same file from the archive you have downloaded early (ftp://[email protected]/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip )
4. Now, run ROMUpdateUtility and this time there will be no WRONG VENDER ID error.

Ok - so I downloaded:
ftp://[email protected]/Prophet/Tools/ROMUpdateUtility-NoVendorID.zip
I extracted this to my "c:\orange" drive. This means I have a file called: "C:\orange\ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
I also have a file called "C:\orange\JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_shi.exe" I extracted this and I have a file now called: "C:\orange\JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_shi\RUU_TOOLS\Prophet\WWE\ROMUpdateUtility.exe"
I replaced the 1st file over the 2nd. I ran the file "C:\orange\JAMin_WWE_213923_2139123_022021_shi\RUU_TOOLS\Prophet\WWE\ROMUpdateUtility.exe" after I replaced it and I get the following message: "ERROR [240] : FILE OPEN" and a message about not finding the file.
Please help!

It is now stuck on 95% and gives a 326 error. ANy help?

Stuck @ Qtek Splash Screen "Help"
I have this issue before and the solution page under PDAMobiz has been taken down. The original page for resolving this issue was linked under this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=273723 which refers to http://en.pdamobiz.com/en/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=440&PN=1 since then this page has changed / not working anymore.
I am currently stuck at he Qtek Splash screen that display the OS, GSM etc. pressing the camera, record button and softreset w/ the stylus does not get me to the bootloader page 3 colors.
I have all the original software that this page originally linked downloaded but need the steps to restoring the phone to a working active sync usb condition or bootloader screen for rom reload can any one please assist in providing a solution.

htc touch operator logo screen????

hi,
I flashed AHEN 6.5.x E6m Full (I am not sure about was it CID Unlocked) ....during the flashing everything was ok but when the phone restart first appear the Windows mobile screen then I see the Vodafone Logo then does not continue (not start up)...
After that I tried to switch of it did not....
When I remove the battery and put it back press power button it show an
ERROR message;
Device start up failed due to sudden loss of power.Please click Yes to continue.
Note: Do not remove battery before device has been completely shut down (OFF)
What should I do now...Please explain me the procedure what to do?

[Q] t3232 clone

So i buyed this phone from dealextreme and i got some problems with it.I cant write sms, and some file extensions dont work so i want to flash it with wm 6.5 and see if it helps, but i searched threw all of this forum and noone of the posted threads helped me becouse i cannot flash my phone.I have tryed customruu, update from sd card (i cant get to update screen but it says that it doesnt find needed file, i tryed .bin rom: k3image.bin , .UPR rom: SMART.UPR but i keep saying the same that it cant find file i also formatted my 2gb sd card to fat16.I dont know what to do please help me.

Stuck on spl 3.05 can't find any rom

i have tried everything like i am not sleeping for two days. i tried to boot with ap3NewSpl and device shut it self down with error 270 while th progress bar was at %1. I could not find any rom for spl 3.05 (i don't know if there is)
I tried to flash with original rom and got the error spl 3.05 not allowed. Now i am so hopeless. Please help me to solve this.You can ask any question i will reply it immediately.

I tried to boot with a rom called ap3NewSpl but got error 270. At least can you direct me a rom for spl 3.0.x

i am figuring it out step by tep. i found the reason of ERROR 270 while updating with the ap3NewSpl is my device is cid locked. As far as i learned there is two way to do that, first cid unlock your device. I tried it but got error 300, sec on way is rom update with cid locked device by changing the nbh file. I am still trying. if any one have any idea pls help.

There are some updates and observations on my side. Since I'm an iOS developer windows mobile like across the bridge. Shortly, my device is cid locked it does not let go to custom roms, i can't upload original rom because my spl does not match so here is my suggestion:
When i try to boot the original rom(Advantage_HTC_WWE_2.21.405.2_1.50.00.00_Ship) it says found spl 1.10 spl 3.05 not allowed(something like that) What did after this point is opened exe with winrar and took out the RUU_Signed.nbh and than using NBH to NB i took the interiors out than opened the spl.nb file with note pad investigated the code found something like spl = 1.10.0000 changed them to spl = 3.05.0000 saved it closed it. After that i recombine the files with NB to NBH tool than put the RUU_Signed.nbh back the original rom file and changed it with the my modified RUU_Signed.nbh after all i run the update exe !!! this time !!! it did not gave me the found spl 1.10 error it go till %1 than i got error 270. this is a good sign since if i can find the reason of error 270 i can run the rom clearly. I am posting this updates may be some one get different ideas. I will be posting the updates.

This time i found 'Athena Rom Version 2.19.707.4 Radio Version 1.45.00.10 (No CID Unlock Needed)' first i run the rom got the error spl found 1.10 bla bla and than get the .nbh file out than did the process nbh to nb opened up the spl file changed the spl = 1.10.0000 to 3.05.0000 than tided up everything back to .nbh put it back run the exe got the error 270 again. This time getting error 270 meaningless since as it written on the file it don't need cid unlock. I need to find out the reason of this error deep into the rom. Any idea appreciated.
