X1 won't send email when I attach a item - XPERIA X1 General

Hi,
I've looked though the forum and could not see an answer so apologies if this has been asked before!
I can happily send and receive email using my 3rd party email servers. No problems.
But when I attached a picture file say from the storage card and the phone tries to send it takes about 30sec and then says the 'The message(s) could not be sent. Check that you have network coverage and that you account information is correct' even though there is signal.
If I remove the attachment the message goes.
It a Vodafone X1 with ROM version 1.03.161.7
Any ideas?
Paul.

dunno, the only thing i can think of is the attachment is probably too big. try sending a small notpad file or something first to test it out.

SMS delivery notice shows only the number not the name?

I am pasting the question from another forum which interests me as well…
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Hi all,
when sending sms and you set the setting for ask for delivery notice on you get back the delivery notice but it will only show you the number not the Name.
This is very annoying when you are sending sms to many contacts.
Is there a work around that?. I contacted the poor online support of Imate and one "not-so-tactful" support lady said "this is what it suppose to do" and they cut me off even before asking my next question to them.
what a shame i-mate has such a poor online support."
Unfortunately I don't think there is. The delivery report comes back from the networks servers with the persons mobile number only. The contact name for that number is stored locally on your phone handset only. What you need is a program that can scan received delivery reports, pull out the number and match it to your contacts database. Far too long winded.
Such a function would probably only benefit someone sending one sms to multiple contacts, then waiting to see who actually received it, so probably not considered by any software developers.
never the less, it is still a shortcoming of the Windows Mobile software, as all nokia phones old and new (even the ancient 8210), and sony ericsson phones can do this!
If anybody is still trying to find the solution for this... here it is...

Receiving Folders E-mail Problem

I just replied to this in the Universal forum, yet seeing I have the Wizard it made more sense to post here. Basically, over the last 24 hours, my phone will download e-mail, yet only the headers. It will then say "Receiving Folders" and just hang there for ages, until an error comes up telling me to check my settings. My incoming e-mail comes from my own companies dedicated server, so I've certainly not changed anything. Has anyone had this problem before and been able to solve it?
Thanks in advance

Send email............

Can you send to an email account using SMS?
everytime I try I get the error
"Cannot recognize one or more recipients or the address is not valid. Would you like to send the message anyway?"
"Yes or No"
I click "Yes"
and get
"The text message account cannot be used to send email messages"
The reason I am needing to do this, is because my mail servers at work are blocking my MMS mails, but my text messages get through fine, if I reply to one.
Query-Why cant you just send regular emails to your work? Do they HAVE to be texts?

I had them "White list" my email account, because 1st it was being blocked because it was all [email protected]. NOW it is being blocked because when you send an MMS message from T-mobile, it attaches GIFs, so the spam blocker don't like that, and still blocks it, but the spam blocker will allow my text messages to come through.
I can't send an actual email because I don't have data on my account.
Alright, well the simple solution that I see it to get just some kinda regular free email adress from somewhere, or use one that you got. The way that T-Mobile's MMS stuff works is just how you described it, they attach GIFs to the messages when you send them, whether they where there or not.
I would just get a Live or AOL email adress and send them that way.
i send emails threw MMS, i dont put a pic in but i type my message were its says "type here" n they get it and are also able to replay.....give that a shot

Explain please?
I have a Gmail account that forwards to my phone..........but how can I send through that account since I dont have the data plan?
AHA!!! Therin lies your problem! I did not know that you didnt have a data plan! Well, I just did a little bit of research, the those GIFs that are attached to each of your messages is T-Mobile branding, which I beleive is tied to the T-Mobile ROM.
Which ROM are you using? If it is the official T-Mobile one, than I would suggest trying a cooked ROM from here and seeing what happens.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

Assuming that your phone is a windows mobile smartphone, just copy the file across to your phone or sd card, and run the file from within the phones file explorer.

Questions about MMS & SMS - NOT RELATED TO LAG

I am looking for a couple of fixes. I have used search, but i can't get the exact answers. Any assistance will be appreciated.
1. SMS, MMS don't get sent:
If I send a message and loose a signal the message stays. The phone does not automatically send once a signal is found. How do I get it to try and resend on its own? I see the resend option, but I am hoping that is a last case option. Not the ONLY option.
2. All MMS messages have to be viewed in landscape:
It does not matter if a picture is attached or not the phone ALWAYS downloads a message. Even if the message just has links to articles someone sends me I have to wait 10-15 seconds to view it. It comes as an attachment. How do i stop this from happening?
3. CC: & BCC: Fields Gone:
What the heck happened to these recipient fields? Most of my time is spent on this phone sending messages. Especially for work. Is there a setting that I am missing to these fields are active. This would be a major setback to me if not.
Thanks.
