I just replied to this in the Universal forum, yet seeing I have the Wizard it made more sense to post here. Basically, over the last 24 hours, my phone will download e-mail, yet only the headers. It will then say "Receiving Folders" and just hang there for ages, until an error comes up telling me to check my settings. My incoming e-mail comes from my own companies dedicated server, so I've certainly not changed anything. Has anyone had this problem before and been able to solve it?
Thanks in advance

I was trying to get MMS to work on T-Mobile in the US and sent some messages via email to my phone. I get the message headers but can't get the rest of the message. I don't really care about this since I don't really use MMS but whenever I delete the messages, they get sent back to the phone within a few hours. T-Mobile is not at all surprisingly useless here and of no help.
Can anyone advise as to how to permanently delete these messages or better still get rid of the otherwise useless MMS app (preferably without a hard reset and reloading a modified ROM image?)

So you got it to actually send?? Can you tell me what the settings are?
I also have a problem with received MMS being re-sent. However, it appears that after a few days they get removed from the server. I was getting dozens of re-sends a day, and now very few, so it seems to be going away.
I couldn't get it to send from the phone. I sent it from my PC to my T-Mo 'email' address >> ##########@tmomail.com. Instead of the SMS inbox handling it, the MMS application picks it up (the headers only). I don't know how anyone has MMS running in the States with the pre-installed app. No matter what I do, it never works.
Hopefully, the server will just give up on them eventually as you seem to have discovered.
A Mini T-Mo Rant: T-Mo US is just terrible when it comes to trying to help with this stuff. I called them asking them to delete the messages for me and they replied that it is a hardware problem on my end!! I wasn't asking them to solve the problem of not being able to receive it. Clearly, T-Mo's server keeps trying to send it and all they had to do was delete it. I don't think it takes a technical genius to figure this out, let alone their 2nd tier support!

Yeah, I had a similar useless conversation. I asked for the server settings, and all they'd say is, "We can't support that device because we don't know what the software looks like." After a half dozen times explaining that I could manage the config if they would simply tell me THEIR server settings, I gave up.
It does amaze me how far behind the US is in terms of phone tech. We lag just about everywhere in virtually every respect of telephony.

Yup. Used to be I could call the T-Mobile support center in the UK and get good help. Ironically, that was before VoiceStream joined T-Mobile. Now they tell me I have to call US support.
I originally posted this in the Hermes section but I now realize it should have been posted here. Please excuse the crosspost though.
Our Blackberry's have a way called "Level 1 Messages" to react differently to incoming emails based upon Sender and/or Subject text. This can include playing a different notification alarm and/or vibrating.
I'm trying to implement the same functionality into our new Cingular 8525 devices (WM5) and I'm not having much luck.
I've tried working with the POOM (Pocket Outlook Object Model) and it seems that doesn't cover incoming emails.
I then tried looking into MAPI and it seems that Messaging related issues only deal with SMS messages. We receive our Exchange email via Activesync over OWA (I think) and so that leaves MAPI out.
I am both amazed that this is that difficult and amazed that there aren't 500 questions related to this already here as I thought this would be a VERY common need.
If I can't figure this out, we'll have to go back to Blackberry and that's not what I want to do.
I looked at the software phoneAlarm and it supposedly has this functionality but it is very unstable and we could never get the Custom Email alerts working.
TIA - any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
Yes, I searched first and followed all those goose chases but I still have not found a working solution.
I'm interested in such an app as well and have been unable to find one. I'm reviving this thread in case something new has developed.
Phonealarm provides such functionality, as well as an application from Quore fucntions called "inboxtones". Google it

Perhaps you think you're typing the correct password...but you're not pressing the correct keys...
There are faults within the SMS app. These are:
* Messages queueing in the outbox - this is by far the most documented issue.
* Messages supposedly being sent but not arriving with the recipient for days and sometimes not ever.
* Messages going to a completely different recipient than the one replied to on the handset. This has happened to me twice now and the bogus recipient has always been someone I have had a conversation thread open with - ie this is not a completely random person on my contacts list. So say I have three open conversation threads going....and I reply to one person within one of those threads, on two occasions now the recipient has been another contact in a completely different conversation thread. Suffice to say I now have zero confidence when sending texts on the HD2 and limit what I say, bigtime.

I would highly recommend that you disable HTC Messaging.
Please refer to:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=556614
and
install NET framework 3.5
The SMS now works very fast and flawlessly.
Hi,I will send SMS to many people, more than 10, how?
There is a reg tweak to increase that limit. Install BsB tweaks 1.6 to make the change easily.
I've a problem with my HD2. When I receive sms, it sometimes hang. My supplier have changed it to Energy ROm and it's still giving me problem.
Also, it sometimes hang during charging.
Pls help.
HTC HD2 SMS Lag/Freeze issue resolved
Go to File Explorer then in My Device > TEMP folder and delete the SMSlistener_log file. Issue gets resolved.
Keep Deleting this file on regular basis or find out a way to disable it.
Hi,
I use my HD2 with exchange synchronisation. It works well with one big problem!
My Exchange sorted the incoming mails to several folders. The problem is that I only get a notification if a mail is incomming directly to the main folder of my mailbox. If a mail was sortet in a subfolder there is no notification. Is there a reg tweak or something else to learn the HD2 to beep every time when a new mail arrives?
It would be great if this is possible, because currently i have to look to all folders the see if there is a new mail.

Same here...
I love to know a way to do a new mail notification on 'folders' too. However, I recall it did this on my iPhone too, so I'm not holding out too much hope!
Does no-one have a solution for this - it's driving me nuts ! The only thing that I've found in my searches on the 'net is the something from blackmonlabs called message-notify (I can't post the URL due to restrictions in this forum, but Googling it should turn it up)
This would work, but is going to screw up the lovely home page of the HD2, so is not really practical. What I'm looking for is something that will display a count of ALL unread messgaes irrespective of whether they are in the Inbox or have been automatically moved to a subfolder. Obviously this should be displayed in the Email notification icon.
If anyone can come up with a solution, I (and many others judging by what I'm reading elsewhere) would be very grateful !
I am looking for a couple of fixes. I have used search, but i can't get the exact answers. Any assistance will be appreciated.
1. SMS, MMS don't get sent:
If I send a message and loose a signal the message stays. The phone does not automatically send once a signal is found. How do I get it to try and resend on its own? I see the resend option, but I am hoping that is a last case option. Not the ONLY option.
2. All MMS messages have to be viewed in landscape:
It does not matter if a picture is attached or not the phone ALWAYS downloads a message. Even if the message just has links to articles someone sends me I have to wait 10-15 seconds to view it. It comes as an attachment. How do i stop this from happening?
3. CC: & BCC: Fields Gone:
What the heck happened to these recipient fields? Most of my time is spent on this phone sending messages. Especially for work. Is there a setting that I am missing to these fields are active. This would be a major setback to me if not.
Thanks.
