Hi, All
It has been more then a few days trying to remove HSPL from my HD2. Numerous post & even watch a Youtube video to make sure I was doing everything right & still no success.
I really need to get this over and done with as I am posting the phone tomorrow.
I was wondering if anyone could walk me through on how to create a Gold Card & flash my HD2 back to Stock. Even if I have to pay for this I will.
My HD2 is a Sim Free Non Branded UK spec Phone
Please help.
Thanks

1. you download the stock rom of your choice (Stock Roms include Radio)
2. Copy the ruu_signed.nbh file to your storage Root and rename to LEOIMG.nbh
3. Fire Up your Leo by pressing power on+vol down untill bootloader comes
4. if all goes well it will ask you to press power on to flash your device
5. do what it says
when finished hard reset (by pressing red button in back or power on+vol up+vol down)
then you should be fine and on your boring stock way again

youve been given the same answer now in several threads. Its probably time to give us more information. because the answer we have all given you is the only way to remove hspl.
So, since you keep saying it wont work, it can only be either
1 a problem with the sd card
2 a problem with the sd card socket on your phone
or
3 a problem with the leoimg.nbh image you are using.
so, question 1 - is your phone rom locked to the provider? (can you download roms from the htc website using your correct serial number?)
question 2 - when you are formatting teh sd card, are you formatting it inside the phone or in your pc?
Closed - duplicate thread.

Possibly a radio problem. Boot pressing volume down button to get into bootloader and flash a radio WITHOUT .51. in its name....
Sent from my Nexus One using XDA App
thanks, already did... and it works.. )))
hey i have that same problem now can you help me get a radio so i can download it or can even help me through the steps to get back my phone to normal plzzz.? thank you
Any new user most definitely has a lot of questions...
Here is a thread you should carefully check - it explains some basic stuff, and it offers links to many other specific threads, incl. Radio ROM.
To return to "normal" ROM, please just check the standard flashing process. You can flash via USB or SD card, whatever ROM you like, stock or custom.
Hey man thanks for all that but i really don't want just any rom, i wanna know if anyone can get me the rom that comes with the phone for windows mobile 6.5, you know with the orange load screen etc, i really dummy in this thing and i should not of even played fast to go try flashing my HTC HD2 with a MAGDLR111.
so i've tried various roms and everyone of them was going great unitl step 2 in the upgrade process, it kept saying error filr open, check update rom utility. where do i go from here?
It is quite difficult to help if there is so little basic information available.
The error you mention can have a simple reason. Usually, the ROM image file name is simply not correct.
To flash via USB:
There are 2 options:
First, you can take an original RUU of your network operator (in case you have a branded phone) or HTC, put the phone into boot loader mode (see below), start the RUU.exe on your PC.
Second, you can extract the original RUU.exe with WinRar or a similar program, take the .nbh file and rename it to leoimg.nbh.
Once you take an image of the ROM, you have to put it into the very same folder where your ROM update software is (LeoCustomRUU, SSPL, whatever). One more time, please check the suffix, it should be .nbh, as in "leoimg.nbh".
Keep in mind: Do start the RUU software as "Admin" - whichever you choose.
Instead of the original ROM, you can flash custom ROMs, too - since your device must have HSPL installed when you used WP7 or Android before.
If you´ve got issues (because of Win 7 on your PC or such), please try to put your device into bootloader mode before connectint it to the PC (turn off the device, push vol. down and power at the same time, the multi color bootscreen should appear, only now connect it to the PC).
To flash via SD card:
Re-format your SD card FAT32. Don´t put anything else on it. Copy the ROM image file with the exact naming as above on the SD card.
To start the flash process, do the same as above, go into bootloader mode, the flash process will start - just follow the on-screen instructions.
i have this same problem only it happened without me flashing anything or something like that. i dont have custom rom or hspl. everything is stock. what should i do?

Hi,
I am planning to install/upgrade WP6.5 to WP7 on my HD2. What I would like to know is that If I am not happy with WP7 on H2 or somethings break after the upgrade, I would like to go back to WP6.5 that came pre-installed with the phone. How can I go about doing the same?
Can someone point me to some posts or exact steps on how to restore my phone to factory settings with WP6.5
Even though this very question was asked and answered like a gazillion times (please use the search function of the forum), here´s a short answer:
Yes, you can return to WinMo 6.5 very easily.
Just download the original ROM for your device from your provider (HTC or network operator ROM), go into bootloader mode (vol. down plus power), plug into your PC via USB and run the RUU.
Optional, you can select to flash via SD card.
You can find detailed tutorials, even with videos, in the stickies of the HD2 WinMo 6.5 ROM thread section.
When you have WP7 .. Hold the power button till you see goodbye, wait for it to completely turn off, Hold the Volume Down button and Press the Power button, you'll see Cotulla's HSPL, connect your phone to PC and wait for Serial to chango into USB, Run the RUU of the ROM of your liking

What a wonderfully witty and erudite post. I'm sure all of us here are delighted that the collective consciousness of XDA should be enriched in such a helpful manner.
Now that this matter has been decisively cleared up once and for all, I'm off to remove WP7 and put Android on.
As for the original thread, I really do struggle to believe that the OP couldn't have found this information within about 30 seconds of launching a search. I apologise (a bit) if this sounds tetchy, but not only is it a thread that didn't need to exist in the first place, it attracted the most pointless, off topic response of all time, above.
in his defence the search on this thing sucks, infact you get better results if you use google and include the words "XDA DEV" plus whatever your searching for
anyhow, whats not defendable is that thats all answered in the stickies
what you want is straight forward, but give WP a chance, give it a few days use and see how you get on, setup live or whatever you use and you might find yourself supprised. I was, and im gonna stay with it
Problem while installing WP7 on HD2
Hi,
I got these set of instructions on installing WP7 on HD2 -
1.Download the Windows Phone 7 ROM from the link given below and extract its contents to your computer.
2.Make sure that you have HARDSPL 2.08 installed as it is required before you can install MAGLDR in the next step. Also note that your radio needs to be 2.**.50.**. A recommended 2.15.50.14 radio can be found here.
3.Connect your HD2 to your computer via USB and run ‘ROMUpdateUtility.exe’ from the MAGLDR 1.2 folder at the location where you extracted the ROM in Step 1.
4.Follow the on-screen instructions to install MAGLDR on your HD2 and reboot your phone. Your phone will boot into MAGLDR now.
5.Navigate to the 5th option which says ‘USB Flasher’ using the volume-down key and press the green ‘call’ key to enter it.
6.Now run ‘DWI.exe’ from the folder where you extracted the ROM.
7.Read the information carefully and follow the on-screen instructions to flash the Windows Phone 7 ROM to your HD2.
8.Once the installation is complete, your phone will reboot into MAGDLR again. Use the volume-down button to the second option that says ‘Boot AD NAND’ and press the green ‘call’ button.
9.Your phone will now boot into the newly installed Windows Phone 7. The first boot may take a while. Follow the on-screen instructions to setup your Windows Phone 7 installation for the first time.
10.Follow this guide to get Live Services including Marketplace and XBox Live fully working on your device.
The 1st 3 steps worked fine but after executing the RomUpdateUtility.exe, the phone went into reboot mode but it hangs at the white screen where the htc logo appears in green. Its like this for the past 20-25mins.
I had SPL 1.42 installed and then installed the corresponding HSPL too. This worked fine but then it gets scrwed up
How can I go abnout restoring the phone to its default settings as it dosent detect under windows also

You're right man. It doesn't sound tetchy BTW.... The thing with android is battery life. It's not possible to get more than 24hrs idle with the new original stock battery I have. With Win7 it's more like 50+ hrs. And it's simple. But I can't get it activated at all with chevron.
In answer to OP's question, no, nothing is not working or slow in wp7. Only the hard keys are different. Takes a day of getting used to no Hard RED/GREEN.
Hey there sam,
I upgraded using the stock 1.66 rom (6.5), updates the radio (very important), then flashed magldr (v1.3 is out now so i would recommend you use that - resolves not being able to charge if battery dies).
Magldr not flashing is usually a radio issue, are you sure it flashed correctly?
What version of windows are you using on your pc?
CHow.

so i was asking if someone could provide me with smplified way to install a new rom using HSPL
Thanks in advance and sorry for z long topic
basically, flashing a winmo phone is an easy process:
1. bootloader mode (power on with VOL- button pressed)
2. flashing
3. hard reset
however, there are a few preparations if your device was never flashed before, you need to install hspl on your phone and make sure you have the correct driver installed on your pc. the driver for the device in bootloader mode might vary from the driver used to sync the device, when switched on.
1. the driver:
if you have windows xp, connect the phone in bootloader mode and look, whether it changes from serial to usb on the bootloader screen, you should be fine by then.
on windows vista/7 you connect the device in bootloader mode, and might actually take some time for it to download another driver from windows update. if it changes from serial to usb, first try to connect using mtty, before attempting to flash, because the connection might not yet be stable and you might want to have a look at the thread (ref updating the usb drivers).
2. hspl
to quote the dummies' guide thread:
(HSPL2a) Place your phone into its bootloader.
(HSPL2b) Run HSPLWrapper_Blackstone_156OliNex.exe from the download in step (HSPL1a) and follow it as normal.
(HSPL2c) If successful, go to step HSPL3. If the flashing process sits at 0% and you get Error [260] connection after some time, go to step (Troubleshooting).
pretty easy, in other words, just connect the device in bootloader mode and run the package on the pc, it will unlock the spl and flash hspl.
if all went well, you are ready to flash, download any rom you like from the rom development section, and flash it using the .exe file that comes with them, might be updater.exe, blackstone RUU.exe or something else. if your rom download only consists of an .nbh file, like ruu_signed.nbh or BLACIMG.nbh, download advanced RUU and use it to flash.
alternatively, if this is to complicated for you as a beginner, you can rename the rom file to BLACIMG.nbh (if it is not already named like that) and put it in the root of the sd card, by then entering bootloader mode, it should find the rom and give you detailed instructions on how to install it.
last step, hard reset, as described in the original manual, switch on, while pressing VOL- and VOL+ and follow the instructions onscreen.

download this, extract all the files, take micro SD out of device, connect device to active sync and then run HardSPLWrapper_Blackstone.exe on your pc, it will now start to flash a new SPL, when complete confirm you got it installed, go into bootloader mode (tricolour screen! {hold volume down and press the reset button under the back cover}) now verify the screen shows 1.56.OliNex, which is the new Hard-SPL version.
when complete you will be able to flash any rom to your touch hd/blackstone
note: if you do not flash a new rom you will have graphical issues with the current rom, however this gets fixed as soon as you flash a new rom
if you have any trouble, click me and go to the first post
good luck
Forgive me if this has been posted before but Ive used search and couldnt find anything.

Go to this thread, download the toolkit. And follow the instructions. It seems like you failed to partition or load magldr correctly.

Hold the "vol down" key while starting your phone. You should get the 3 color screen. Connect usb, you should see "usb" in the display.
Then start toolkit, choose you system size and install magldr. After starting in magldr go to "Usb Flash" on your handy and then click "Repartition" in the toolkit.

Thanks guys for all of your replies. However, I am having trouble accessing the bootloader. Everytime I hold the volume button down and press the power button, the phone boots up normally and then freezes at the T-Mobile splash screen. Is there any way in which I can "force" the phone into bootloader?

You are doing it the reverse way. Take out the battery and reinsert again. Now as soon as you press the power button, press volume down and keep pressing. You gotta do this real quick.
its not auto starting magldr because you either - 1 don't have 2.08.hspl (no other version hspl will do, only 2.08.hspl) or - 2 don't have a compatible radio , i.e one that is of the ..50.. version number, higher than 2.07.50
once you have both those conditions, magldr will appear without you dong anything when you start the phone, and probably hang at 'failed to load kernel' or something, because there is no ROM to load, but you will know its working, so reboot hold down just power, and the magldr menu will come up, and you can choose usb flashing and move on to flashing cwm.
Guys, still having problems accessing the bootloader
