Settings for phone/3g in corp mode?

I got my XDA Exec last week and was impressed apart from the speed of the unit when switching screen modes. I thought that the O2 active would be to blame, so found out how to stop it running, and voila my Exec was instantly faster.
After further reading I found that a hard reset and selecting corp (or corporate) mode would install the bare minimum, so I decided to try this to see if it was better. Unfortunately, the phone and gprs/3g now do not work, as the settings are not installed. Does anybody know how to set these up? The Exec does appear to be much faster so I would quite like to get it running in corp mode.

AFAIK, Basic mode is identical to Corp mode, except that it does pre-configure the connection settings. The O2 Active interface doesn't appear in Basic mode.
However, I think Basic mode does include an O2 icon in the Start bar and a battery monitor thingy there too. It's relatively easy to stop them appearing by deleting the relevant links from the \Windows\Startup folder though, and then you have a clean Exec like God intended

The one thing did like about corp mode was that it didnt say "running in basic mode" when resetting, and it had a battery monitor on the today screen. But I guess I can live without those...

The Basic mode also uses the O2 Phone Dialer skin, which is removed in the Corp install.

Oh. Just tried selecting Corp and did a soft reset and the phone looks exactly the same to me. Ah well. It's not exactly an ugly skin so I don't care if it is the O2 one.
What does the non-O2 skin look like?

Similar, but less "flashy", but more in-keeping with the default WM5.0 theme.

Also, if you know anything about this it may be useful. I connect to 3g but the connection often hangs. In IE I see either "connecting..." or "locating..." in the status bar and nothing else. The only way to fix this once it gets to this state is to reset the unit. Merely restarting the connection doesnt seem to work. I get similar probs in any prog that uses the 3g connection, they just stop working. (I am in good reception areas too).
Do you think this is a setup issue, a simcard or phone issue? I am inclined to think it might be a simcard issue.

I've just done this myself yesterday, and all the services I've tried appear to be working - I can send and recieve calls, text and use the web. The only thing I've not tried yet is MMS. The only thing missing from the Corp mode that I would like is a decent battery bar, but I'd imagine that I'll be able to find a little utility that will do that.

To tell you the truth, I don't know. This is the first time I've used a 3G phone myself (been a user of all previous XDA's, none of which were 3G) so I had to get my SIM switched over. All I did notice is that one my account was switched to the new SIM connectivity seemed to be very bad in the 3G areas - I phone O2 about it and they said they had some issues with their network then. That was last week, but now everything seems to be fine.

To you restore your battery meter in corporate mode you need to make sure that batterNFO.exe is here
\Windows\Mobile Solutions\O2ActiveUI\Modules\BatteryNFO\batteryNFO.exe
and makesure that batteryNFO.lnk is here
\windows\startup\batteryNFO.lnk
if anyone needs a copy of the file let me know and I will post a link

If you install the gprs monitor from the o2 app disc, it has a nice little battery info built in to the gprs monitor icon.

Yes, please - the files haven't been extracted on my XDA since I did a hard reset and started in Corp mode.

Im sorry I got it wrong, I thought I had got it because there was an on screen battery indicator in corporate mode, but I have come to realise that it might have been their already (the one next to the wireless manager)

Weather stoped updating?!?

Anybody have the same problem today? The Weather tab in Tf3d have stoped updating, It says unable to update want to try again Y/N.
It have worked great before but today suddenly it stopped, is the servers down or what? anybody have it installed can check on their?

I couldn't get weather to work at all at first. I had to uncheck the box in connections that says u connect through a proxy. I dunno if u have to do the same thing

Strange, because it have worked very well before and I have done nothing to the settings, but I will try it soon

Now it works, and I didn't do anything not even a soft reset or anything....may have been the server or the operator network

I'm gonna have to agree with mlinz. I'd focus on modding that spb mobile shell. I think i'm gonna try and do something there when i get a chance

Just downloaded the latest panel from sony ericsson website: tv4 Panel (swedish) but i cant get it to work? Just trying to connect to 3g but nothing happends?

My phone never stops "loading" when I try to start the TV4panel, I can see the TV4-logo and windows loadinglogo but there it stops. It's trying to connect to GPRS, 3G but never succeeds? When I click today I get back to TF3D (itje). Tried to load it with wifi instead, no change.
There seems to be a connection-issue
You can only find it on www.sonyericsson.se --> Fun & Downloads (or via the above link), but not on WAP.

Doesn't work here either, that spinning color wheel (whatever it's called...) just keeps spinning while the CPU utilization is parked at 100%.
I launched this panel when I had no reception as well, then a menu of some kind appeared, but as soon as I clicked Uppdatera ("Refresh") that wheel came right back.
Only way to get out of the wheel (sic!) was a reset.
I've read posts on other forums that says that they have the same problem. I haven't yet read anywhere that it actually works for anyone.

Looks like a memory leak, the panel isn't ready for release yet.

The link is still up but nothings changed.
Still not working, tried rebooting and reinstalling but still the same problem.
Wont stop "loading" windowswheel keeps spinning.
If i use the slide to use the keyboard I can see that its not just a panel for the TV channel but it also includes calender, email and so on. But still cant get it to work.....

I read on a swedish site (minhemio.com) that there were some issues with the TV4 panel that SE and TV4 were aware of. They are working on it at this moment so you will just have to hang in there for a while!

I also see alt of new panels here..it's quite strange because I don't see them on other SE sites. Anyone can explain why Sweden has this priority?

Most of them are in Swedish, Aftonbladet & Di = Swedish newspapers. Tre & Telia = Swedish Mobile carriers and so on....

UK has the Evernote panel, which Sweden doesn't...

I think that Sweden might have a certain priority because SE is a Swedish Company ?!

yeah there is. just go to aim.com or go to google and search aim for windows mobile. its a nice app. i use it siometimes.

I use Fring, which has AIM/YM/MSN/VOIP, etc etc etc included in 1.
Also allows for file transfers, which I use quite a bit.

i use IM+ but there are other apps out there as well

I use palringo. I find that AIM's client is slow and it crashes after using it for a while.

never had any crashes with aim, it works well with me everyday, no custom rom just the latest SEUS update

i tried AIM's official program before... horribly laggy. But that was with R1A. Maybe the R2A firmware performs better with it?

i installed this application and that went well.
after i input my screen name and password and press sign in, it was on the
loading screen for about 3 minutes. then a error pop up
saying "AIM server error: 12007" do you know waht that is?

hmm i soft reset my phone and ran the application with wifi and it worked nicely!!
but now im trying to logg on using edge and its still connection...
if i may ask...wat data connection are u using??

my location is barbados, i am using digicel as my carrier with an unlimited high-speed data plan, it only takes a few seconds for me to connect, i guess its the speed u are connecting with, maybe your edge is slow, i had the same probs with our edge connection as well before i made the switch. when i connect via active sync, the speeds are practically the same as my unlimited data plan which is nearly 1mbps.

Mobile AIM is terrible. I tried to use it, but it is way to laggy. Use BeeJive, it is by far the best I've tried. Very slick, very clean, and very fast interface...plus its free! In terms of its fluid interface, you could be using the iPhone.

I am running spb news on my device. I am unable to download news update via Wifi. But i can go on internet no problems.
I can download the spb news update vis 3g/hspa.
Has anyone came across this problem please

Sorry to hijack your thread but when I click on links in SPB News nothing happens... normally it should launch the web browser. Anyone knows what might be wrong?

sometimes you have to double click the link via spb news.
just tap on the link twice and that should work.

maybe it helps to disable the proxy that your 3g provider settings added..

the proxy is disabled. I even have tired switching off the gsm network and only gave WiFi but still the same problem.
I have tired on my friends device and it works on WiFi.
the only different between both devices is that mind is via service providor and he has brought it offline.

I just tried that but it doesn't work. No matter how fast or slow I click, double click or triple click it cannot launch the web browser. Too bad...
