ROMs and VoIP (SIP) - Mogul, XV6800 General

Hello xda-developers,
I have some strange experience with my Titan (Mogul) - I cannot configure SIP clients or WM SIP.
What I've tried:
1. I have installed SPL so I can successfully flash my phone with all ROM I've tried (PPCKitchen, dcd, nue).
2. Install dcd's cabs (http://dcd1182.n715dp.com/titan/): Radio 3.42.50, 4.1.2, Cricket carrier.
3. Install PPCKitchen with Cricket carrier and VoIP enabled.
4. Install latest nueROM (nueROM_MTitan-201-201-spackr.rar) with Radio 3.42.50.
On all these configurations I have not "Internet Calling" tab in Phone -> Menu -> Options. So I've tried several VoIP/SIP enabling solutions:
1. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2885113&postcount=2
2. This guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=299950 (it creates the correct file in \Windows and SIP config reads the settings then).
and several others.
What I only have is unworking "Internet Calling" today item - it is selected but it does not display anything on today nor immediatelly after install, nor after reboot.
The "Internet" tab in Phone -> Menu -> Options is missing.
When I'm connected only to WiFi (with phone off), the dialer says "Phone off" and do not call (I expect it to call though VoIP in this case).
Maybe you have some ideas (I'm interested in standard SIP, not fring, etc)?
Thank you for your support!
Regards,
Alex
P.S. My current device info:
ROM: dcd 4.1.2
Radio: 3.42.50
Hardware version: 0003
Update 1: Not only the "Internet Calling" tab is missed, the "Network" tab is missed too. Enabling phone tabs (TTY, etc) in Advanced Config (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=418151) does nothing.

Using VoIP phone service provider like PhonePower would help you save hundred to thousands of dollars on your monthly business phone or residential phone

Hi Alex. I feel your pain, buddy.
I'm having the exact problem Alex is - Internet Calling doesn't show on my today screen. I've tried all the VoIP / setup cabs I can find. All of them give me an 'Internet Calling' Today item, but nothing shows up after checking the box. I've tried on a stock VZW WM6.1 and a custom bare WM6.5 (no OEMs).
This isn't rocket science, but I've spent HOURS fighting with this to no avail.
Here's my device:
ROM: custom (PPCKitchen Build 21501.5.0.70)
Radio: 3.37.75
HW Ver: 0003
Are there any Titan ROMs in which VoIP works out of the box? Those who have it working, which hardware version do you have?

I think I may have a fix:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Phone]
"Features"=(+8) i.e. add 8 to whatever value is there.
That got my Internet Calling to show up - haven't had time to test operation yet.

help, upgraded firmware and now no internet

Just upgraded the firmware on my Cingular 8525. I downloaded the latest version from the ftp website.
rom version 2.06.502.3
rom date 02/02/07
radio version 1.34.00.10
protocol version 32.67.7020.10h
What the phone does. The phone still works and I can make out going phone calls, but I am unable to download my mail or bring up web pages. It comes up as web page can not be loaded. I've tried to search for an answer but have not found anything yet.
I am using an old att sim.
Thanks
Scott
Scott,
Have you checked to see if the connection settings are set on the device (settings - connections)? Perhaps the ROM upgrade (is a Cingular one or HTC?) does not contain those settings - in that case you will need to manually enter them. Perhaps this might help: http://forums.mobiledia.com/topic18250.html - not sure if the settings in here are right for your service or contract. A search here and on MoDaCo: http://www.modaco.com/HTC-Hermes-HermesMoDaCocom-f204.html might also provide the settings that you need
Good luck
My connection settings are correct. They were working before I upgrade the firmware. I am using Att settings which is proxy. Unless with the new firmware they changed. I think it might have to do with the bootloader being 1.09 I just trying to figure this out.
Thanks for your help,
Scott
So you are old ATT Blue in USA, correct?
Running the RUU 2.06 with Radio 1.34?
Do another hard reset as some times the first boot is not letting the entire Ext_rom complete, I do not know why but it happens sometimes on the new Cingular ROM.
After that if it doenst work then go to Cingular.com and check your GPRS setting in the "Connection" part of your setting and make sure the settings include the correct user name (wap.cingular.......... and password CINGULAR1..... etc)

voip calling

Hi,
I have followed all the instructions in setting up Voip on my phone, and have been partly successful.
The internet calling application is showing, and I used the config tools to setup my account.
But only get the "no service" message
I used "Fring” which is a standalone sip phone for WM6 and with the same settings, it is able to connect and call.
One point to note is my Asterix is using port 5190, and not 5060.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this issue?
Thanks much,
Shay
solved
i belive i have figured it out , changing the voip settings did not take effect untill i have reset the phone.

VOIP
I have been looking for info on this.
Are you using the stock rom or a cooked version?
What carrier are you using?
Could you provide me with the procedure to get this working?
Thanks!
voip
i am using the stock rom , with my own asterix
had to to install the wm6voip.cab
and then create a config file , using sip config tool , or chap's voip config tool.
(hope i got the names right)
you can find all the required info , by searching for "voip" in this forum.
the one thing everybody forgot to mention is that you have to reset your phone after changing the voip settings

GPS - Stopped working completly :(

I have an Orange M700. Ages ago I flashed it with Schaps 4.30 WM6 ROM. I have been using this for over a year without any problem.
I have been using VisualGPS/Garmin/TomTom all without issue.
I went to try and use the GPS today and none of the applications see the GPS device. VistualGPS does a scan and scan find any devices on any ports
I have tried using the HTC GPS TOOL and cannot get it to connect.
I have tried changing the config but at the moment its set to
ROM Version: Schap's 4.30
ROM date: 6/29/07
Radio version 1.16.00.00
Protocol version: 32.53.701801H
I have tried a hard reset to clear it up but it still does not work. I get a feeling its died - anyone got any ideas on what else i can try?
Have the settings in Start->Settings->Connections->GPS done anything?
Have you checked the COM port settings?
Your radio ROM looks very old. Try installing the latest 1.56.70.11 - it works great for me. You could also try the latest tnyynt's TNYSTD WM6.1 ROM, that has GPS working by default with no setup needed, so at least then you'll know the hardware is ok.
But before you flash any new ROMs, you can check your GPS settings with HTC's "External GPS" application. Here are my settings:
GPS program port: GPD1
GPS hardware port: COM9
Baud rate: 115200
And tick the "Manage GPS automatically (recommended)" tickbox.
Cheers for thr advice. In the end I ended up flashing the radio to a later rom. It didn't appear to fix it but then started from scratch with a hard reset (even though I had done these on a previous radio version) but then it appeared to start working
Then just restored my system backup and got it all back and working.
Think I will look at a 6.1 rom soon too

[Q] Different Rom behaviour or Registry setting matter?

Hi all,
I am not sure if here is the right place where to place my question, but I try...
After I buyed a Blackstone with:
ROM Version 1.13.401.0 (20428)ITA
ROM Date 10/25/08
Radio Version 1.09.25.14
Protocol Version: 52.49a.25.26W
I installed a navigation software (OziExplorerCE), and with my great pleasant surprise I noted that after I launched it, even if I place the device in Stand-by mode (brief push on Power button), the program was continuing to work regularily (included gps connection of course).
So, when I was pushing again the power button to power-on the device, I was founding that while in the Stand-by status, OziExplorer have continued to work exactely as the normal (display-on) status, also writing road-track in the file.
I found this behaviour very useful in some case.
After I Updated the Rom (official) with :
ROM Version 1.56.401.0 (43972) WWE
ROM Date 03/06/09
Radio Version 1.13.25.24
Protocol Version 52.62,25.34U
I re-installed again the same program, but I noted that when I place the device in stand-by status, it stop to work (may be it lose gps connection??).
I am very sorry for this behaviour, and I hope that someone can help me on how to come-back to the previous behaviour.
Of course, I don't know if the different behaviour is caused by some change in the ROM or something that must be modified in the registry (I hope so).
I must also add that I noted another difference:
With the previous Rom, when I was launching OziExplorer, I was noting that also ActiveSync was present in the "active processes" list.
While with the new Rom, when I launch OziExplorer, I not find ActiveSync to be active.
Thanks

bluetooth disabled in stock rom???

guys i need your help!
ive had my HD2 for 2 weeks now, its perfect! until last night when i tried to set up my bluetooth handsfree headset for work the next morning....
when i go to comm manager and try to turn bluetooth on it hangs for 30-40secs and i get cant turn on bluetooth
none of the other bluetooth related icons/programs/settings seem to work either
i had a look in the windows folder for all the files relating to bluetooth (just incase the links where broken) however, any bluetooth related .exe i click on i get this is not a valid pocketpc application error message.
im really hacked off now...in the wm help files theres a paragraph saying something along the lines of if the wireless carrier enables bluetooth on your phone...blah blah
so has t-mobile UK disabled it?
heres the info i can find:
OS version: 5.2.21864 (21864.5.0.81)
Manilla version: 2.5.19202525.0
ROM version: 1.43.110.2 (70315) WWE
ROM date: 10/28/09
Radio: 2.04.50.22_2
Protocol version: 15.26.50.07U
currently ive got tomtom7 installed and working fine, a handfull of games (Xtract/experiment13 etc etc) other apps like the torch button app all working fine, this is the first problem i've had!
so get your thinking hats on people, i will gather info, try out ideas etc and see what happens
UPDATE: i took a deep breath and did a hard reset....now it works!
so what the hell caused it to stop working?
I have the same problem. I installed a lot of app on my HD2 (TMOBILE UK). I have got tomtom 7 navigator as well installed on my device and the same error when I am trying to turn my Bluetooth on.
Maybe someone have somthing similar or the same and can help? Previously I had Samsung I780 with WM 6.5 and TT7 Navigator and no problems with bluetooth.
i just tried a few apps like HDwall (although it didnt display properly)
bluetooth still working...
just doing another hard rest now then i'll install TOMTOM7
ok.
here it is:
After a hard rest, nice clean phone... ran the TomTom7, installed fine, required a soft reset to complete...
after the soft reset i get "BTTrayCE.exe is not a valid pocketPC application"
so now bluetooth doesn't work
any help? i prefer to use tomtom...
There's a couple of tomtom files that have to be deleted from the windows folder to make it work again. Can't remember the names of them now, but if you google the "bttrayce.exe" error then it's one of the first results.
thanks aterlatus
