[REQ] Edit XT9 - Windows Mobile Development and Hacking General

Hello people,
I am creating a catalan rom and I need a dictionary in this language.
I tried a lot of things but it didn't work.
The device for waht I want the diccionary is the diamond, with XT9.
Does anybody have this dictionary or can help me to create it?
Thanks a lot!

No Catalan T9 / XT9 possible
BAD NEWS:
You won't find it. I asked here, and the guys at xda.developers helped all what they could, but there's no Catalan file anywhere.
I asked it to Nuance/Tegic, to HTC, to Microsoft, and everyone told this was not the own matter. Tegic/Nuance told they sold the files to HTC. HTC told the problem is that M$ does not allow to change the locale WM version once there's one installed (I asked again how is it possible, if every spanish version of M$ Office -not mobile- has the spanish and the catalan files and we can oficially and legally patch WinXP and Vista from Spanish to Catalan). Microsoft told the problem is with HTC which made the devices without the files. Finally, somebody in MS-Redmond told I must ask to Microsoft Spain (this is, ******* I think the forum rules don't allow to tell about politics nor genocide, even to the victims)
I asked again, to the three together (Nuance/HTC/Microsoft) to gime me an only answer after having discussed between them...
...and they never more answered.
By that time, somebody told me that WM6.5 won a price because it had a Catalan version. But I never found it, anywhere.
MAYBE GOOD NEWS:
S730 and some other new smartphones do have a Catalan file, but I didn't find the way to obtain it. Maybe if some spanish S730 user can share this file
Bona sort. Si ho aconsegueixes, fes-m'ho saber.
(Good luck. If you obtain it, tell me about.)

I have an XDA II that has French language now and I need to change it to English..I tried to flash WM2003se and new 1.72 rom but it will not allow..it says...error121: language ID error...please tell me how i can change language rom or wm..thanks
Go to wiki pages
er2003 edit , change your language and operator id to match with your phone
thanks..i've never done it and i spent quite a bit of time on this forum but still could not find ways to do it, can you please direct me to the instruction to how to change to language rom?..thanks
I just converted mine from Spanish to English by upgrading to 2003 Second Edition.
All you have to do is fool the phone into thinking you are applying a Spanish update (in your case French).
You need to know the phones country code, and re-code the upgrade files.
I did it in 2 hours
Follow these instructions
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=13660&sid=5f75209df4bb779c268c215102993baf
You will have trouble understaning the information.
You will go crazy trying to change the language code ect.
You will get it working.

MS Transcriber can't be installed on S200 SVE?

Hello everyone!
I'm new to this forum and Qtek/HTC/I-mate but judging by what I've browsed through so far this place kicks ass.
Anyhoo... I just bought a S200 with WM5 in Swedish (the only language available here) and the damn thing lacks the transcriber. I googled a bit and found out the transcriber could be installed separately. Well.. no. Not on my S200. It just says that "transcriber is not a valid pocket-pc application".
Has anyone with a non-english s200/prophet/JAMin actually managed to install the transcriber? I was really looking forward to using that particular function, it was actually one of the main reasons I bought a non-qwerty-phone.
An option for me would be to flash the whole thing to english (I'm an Aussie so I'd actually prefer it) but is it possible to use swedish characters if the OS is english?
Hello, where can I get the Transcriber to install on my S200?? I'm on a portuguese version and I also don't have the transcriber installed
Hello...
go to http://www.smartmobile.se/ and choose S200, then u can download the file from there.. it´s working... cheers!

Hi guys,
It is my dream to see Windows Mobile in my native language. I would like to make my own ROM So PLZ help me how to do that? I can not find any ROM in my native language therefor I decided to try another way to see my dream in making my own ROM or to translate any English to my language.
I am hopeful that many of you guys will help me and advice me how to start building my own ROM in my language.
May be you guys can tell me how translate Windows Mobile to another language.
I will remain to hear from you guys.
With my regards,

Hello, The King! I think it's really difficult to translate a whole O.S. it is possible, but since a single O.S. has hundreds of strings (text) it would take months to years to make a good translation.
I think that there are tools, but, sorry, I don't know their names. I'm sure that any ROM cooker would provide you with the info.
Good luck!

I would like to thank you for reading my thread. I knew it is difficult to translate the whole system but as you know dreams has no boarders. I will stay dreaming until one day that will be a reality.
With my deep thanx & regards,

U can ask cookers certenly they know files and the best u can get is to uppack installation package, get language files (i think they are numbered instead of saying like: english, they have somthing like "0409" files and all that has that typo of number indicates us to a lang file) So u can try to extract it and then for exemple with TXT editor replace and translate it manually, and most of words are duplicated so if u use replace tool u can translate all langs pretty quickly, and dont forget that there are another problem that is language keyboard, that is yet another little problem, but not so hard.
what you could do is translate all files that end with mui.0409 but you need some software like PE Explorer to translate all strings and dialogs. this would give you kurdish language in program menus and stuff but you could probable not change the names of the folder because the programs have the paths deaper coded into the dll and exe. I would not dream of doing this because when you finaly get finished there would probalble be 1 or 2 updates since you started to translate so most new apps would not run on the windows version you translated.

[Q] SE included stuff (programs, language) in custom ROM's ?

So, my problem is next
I would like to put some custom ROM to my new Xperia X8, but I need Exchange Activesync Mail for my work.
SE included Roadsync application which I use for this.
any other application I found needs to be payed for, even Roadsync if I want to install it on some other device.
but I allready payed it with my X8 so I should have it for free if I change OS?
so what's the situation with this, and what are my possible solutions?
and what about other stuff like that (wisepilot...)?
and the other thing is about language.
SE ROM has everything in Croatian. I allways used english with every device I had because Croatian translation was funny.
But in X8 Croatian is very good. And that includes Android translations (menus, icons...), keyboard chars and dictionary.
I would really like to keep this
is it possible?
thank you for your answers in advance!

u only get it for free if u use the OS that SE provides, tho what i can think of is rooting your phone then going into /system/app folder and locate the respective .apk files, then installing them again when u change OS. of course if SE put dependencies all over the place then u're pretty much screwed unless u can find them and put them back in the proper places.
as for the croation translation u need to find out if the custom rom supports croation tho the translation is bound to be different from SE's original 1. if none of them do then maybe u can contact the rom developer to see if they're willing to make the translation for u.
bear in mind tho that if u install a custom rom u lose all support from SE and whatever free software that may come along with it. the "free" stuff that u're talking about comes in a package, not individually.
thank you for answer
I just hoped devs include this stuff, because that was the case with my HTC Touch Cruise. DEV's usually included all of the HTC stuff in the ROM.
But OK. the problem is that I need Activesync mail.
I think that nowdays it's essential thing for everybody that need mail for work.
Is there some free app that work good?
I couldn't find it myself.
I can do without everything else SE included.
and regarding language, is there a way to extract this stuff out of ROM and make some app or something that can be included in any other ROM after it's installed?
I saw there's a lot of people from Croatia on X8 forums, some with very big knowledge, so if there's a way maybe somebody will do it
I can use english like always till now (and will for better ROM), but now that I know there's good Croatian translation, it would be nice to have it.
2.3 roms have cro lan
