Guys, I need your help. When I bought my new HTC Touch Pro GSM it was staffed with 1 (!!!) original screen protector. And what you think? Of course, I did not apply it correctly, so I need another screen protector. I live in Russia, Moscow (so sorry me for my mistakes in English) and there is NO any screen protector which can be similar to original. I am totally f*cked up with any another screen protector which do not compare to device - I just cannot apply it normally.
So, guys, I need ORIGINAL SCREEN PROTECTOR FOR MY HTC TOUCH PRO GSM or I will become a madman!!! Where I can buy it?! I am ready to buy it in another country and then deliver it to my house by DHL or smth like it. And do not show me invisibleSHIELD, bodyGUARD and other **** - I just need ORIGINAL screen protector, which I can apply to my device normally - without tries to choose correct size, without cutting edges etc - just buy and apply.
Thanks.
I can not believe that nobody does not know where I can order original screen protector (or totally similar to it) for Touch Pro GSM!
I've ordered the boxwave ones, they're very similar to the OEM ones in feel and application.
Can you give me link to "boxwave"?
And what you think about this:
http://www.expansys-usa.com/p.aspx?i=166218
It says: "Manufacturer: HTC", so it can be similar to OEM too?
http://www.boxwave.com/products/easyfinder/buy-best-htc-touch-pro-accessories_3260.htm
That's probably the regular OEM on Expansys-usa, but Boxwave includes a screen protector for the buttons too, and people have bad experiences with Expansys.
Why don't you reuse the one that came with it. There is no adhesive on the screen protector it is held on by static "cling" Wash it, dry it with lint free cloth or air duster. if there is dust on it at that point use clear scotch tape and stick it on, pull it off it will remove any dust then reapply. I reapplied mine the other day it works great.
I explore all this tips only after I am totally... sh*ted OEM protector. So, now I must order it in shops.
BBowermaster
You already use this protector? Or only order and waiting for it?
I currently use the BoxWave. I ordered the 3 pack, 1 anti-glare and 2 crystal clear. Currently using the anti-glare. As said, it has the same feel and thickness of the stock/OEM protector and feels the same when I swipe my finger across the screen.
I don't know about the expansys one.
But what about applying? Any problems?
And does it REALLY match size of the screen? And what about hole for front VGA camera? Just I didn`t see it on screenshot.
I didn't have any problem applying and reapplying, but no hole for the camera, as the US version does not have them, but it does match the screen. You'll have to contact them to see if they have any or can make it for you.
You'll be hard pressed to find the original screen protector with the VGA cut out. Not even the expansys version seems to have the cut out.
Ok, thanks for answers - I will order BoxWave soon.

Hi everyone.
At the risk of being ridiculized I post here to ask if it would (anyhow) damage my screen if I buy a Palm screen protector and cut it down to Kaiser's screen dimensions and stick it. I messed up with mine and there are lots of bubbles and dust and dirty in mine.
And yes, I know it's better to buy a specific protector, but here where I live in South America, they don't even sell Kaiser's yet.
And else, would this dust that is adhered between the screen and the protector damage my device? Should take the protector out until I adquire another?
Thanks a lot.
Hello, It should work great for you to cut down the ones you have and use them. I have a Wing and I buy mine from a dollar store. They are made for Pocket PCs but I just cut them down and they work great. When they get scatched or dirty, I just change them.
Hi folks!
I just checked out ebay and other sources and discovered that a lot of new products for protecting your babies screen hit the market since Brando's Ultra Clear for my Kaiser
I found liquid products, silicone coatings, lotus effect stuff, several new brands, solutions for just the screen or the whole Touch Pro...
Are u using the shipped screen protector or anything else?
Brando, as with any other device.
i'm just using the screen protector that came with the phone...don't really see a reason to use another kind

When it wears out, get a Brando or Martin Fields. You will notice a difference.
Martin Fields
which one from brando should I take:
-original
-ultra clear
Exim screen protector... le deluxe! I've been using this brand forever. I don't feel like putting a $5 protector on a once $1050 but now $850 phone.
Take UltraClear, they're better for Touch Pro.
Wich one doesn't smudge as much as the regular one delivered with the device? Or is it just me having greasy fingers?
I have UltraClear and the smudges are all over the screen, I think I'll have to get used to it.
I only use Boxwave. They're the best.
According to this review, they're better than Brando.

I've got one on my Digital Rebel and Nintendo DS. Love them.
wat bout invisible shield any1 use it on ur touch pro
my major problem now is the screen protector that given by htc after a few day of using it has some scratches on the screen protector =/

Hmm, a review dating back to 2003, is getting to be a bit old now, don't you think?
I've ordered a Brando one, I've yet to set it.
Not really. We're not dealing with statistics here. Have plastic and adhesive technology changed so much in 5 years?
I've read reviews on the Brando and I've personally used Boxwave.
I'm sure I could find other reviews with different search terms, but it would do little good since you already ordered.
Anyway, no intarweb review is going to tip your mind. Better to just order them and try them out.
I have not received my Touch Pro yet, but I bought a box wave....I've used all except for Brando and I can say for me Box Wave have performed the best so far.
I'm using the Brando Ultra clear.
+It's extremely easy to apply without air pockets underneath.
-It's very fragile and withing a week I have 2 scratches in the screen protector
The screen protector you get with the Touch Pro is a lot less fragile but very crappy when it comes to applying it.
just ordered a box wave so I will report back and let you guys know how I like it. I got the crystal not the anti glare.
Using Exim SPUC Screen Protector since a few days and like it, quality is good, there's even a part to protect the bottom buttons
Just got the antiglare from Brando and applied it. I don't know but it doesnt seem easy for me to apply it properly.
I'll rest now and if I can, share photo of how it looks tomorrow.
Just installed a Boxwave anti-glare protector. The jury is still out for me on the portion that covers the keypad below the screen as it does interfere somewhat with the smoothness of the d-pad and center butten, but I do like the screen protector itself. It is definitely not fingerprint proof like advertised, but I do notice a reduction in glare as well as, more importantly, a good increase in touch sensitivity over the stock unit that came with the device.
I also ordered a crystal version that I have not yet installed.
does anyone know if the htc pro gsm invisible shield by zagg would fit on the HTC Fuze?
They just posted it and I was able to make an order

thx just ordered mine as well
what exactly does the 'full body coverage' actually cover? just front n back? how well does it cover the sides n outer corners?
I ordered the screen only coverage from them for the Touch Pro GSM version.
Just received yesterday, but I found out that the screen protector wraps around to the side/outside edge of the phone which i think will cause some problems because there is a small gap between the screen and the side egde.
So i just cut out the "wrap-around" part of the protector so that it will only cover the screen. I will apply it later today to see how my cutting skills work out.
i don't know if it'll be the same for the fuze protector (I assume they will just use the same one from Touch Pro, just without the front camera hole). But if they will make the protector just protecting the screen, then I am in for another one.
I ordered a Touch Pro GSM screen protector (as the one for the Fuze wasn't out then). It has the sides, like the person above said. I tried it out anyway, and it just doesn't stick down. I already contacted Zagg about it, as you'd expect it to stick, but it just won't. The big difference is the PTT and the camera spot not being on the front.
If one of you get the Fuze one in, let me know if it has the side thing too.
1st sorry for my english. i just wait for my blackstone. and now just want to know
Is stock screen protector that come in the box is good enough?
or we must buy 3rd party?
which brand do you prefer?
Hi iDaemon,
I have the stock screen protector on at the moment and while its ok I will be buying a 3rd party protector.
With the stock protector I get bubbles under it no matter what I do but its ok for the time being as their only on the edge of the screen.
I am waiting on either the invisable shield body protector or the Clear-Coat one.
thanks AFK_Matrix, so maybe high quality protector will good when apply on our device?

It is good enough for me. It works just fine.
Brando is the best.
I tried the stock one & found it too thick (although it was as soon as I got the phone, so maybe I wasn't pressing hard enough?) I've now got a Brando's from Inkino which they even fitted for me & I can't tell is there with regards to sensitivity.
I didn't get a screen protector in the box If it stratches i'll use orange care to get me another
The HD screen protector is just fine, and it doesn't always give bubbles. I got one tiny bubble above the vga camera because I slightly misplaced it, too near to the top, otherwise it's perfect.
Don't know about sensitivity, since I have not tested with another protector on the HD yet, but a screen protector would have to be really thick in order to impair sensitivity on a resistive screen, almost impossible for a thin plastic film.
Screen protector
On my Glofiish have been using this protector.
Now I´m waiting for HD protector.
http://www.boxwave.com/products/cleartouch/index.htm
i think the stock one is pretty good, i have some bubble around the vga camera & the earpiece... but thats because i misplaced it, the rest of screen is perfect.

I don't think you misplaced it. It just does not fit well. I have applied the stock one and a different one for like ten times and the stock one always gets bubbles near the earpiece and cam. not with the other one. However, the one I bought is horrible, it distorts image so I will not recommend that one either (so dont buy this one). I am getting a brando, lets see how that goes...
...good enough...whatever it means!
I have bubbles even I have placed the stock protector perfectly...
s***!!
I'm definitely going to get a 3rd party protector.
Through the years I bet I put 50 screen protectors on devices, including replacememts. Not to say I'm more than proficient, but the stock protector went on perfect for me.

You can adjust the sensitivity by recalibrating the screen after you've put the screen protector on.
These devices seem to use the pressure used during the screen calibration to set the sensitivity. If you use a very light tap with the stylus on each of the 5 points during the calibration, you should find the touch screen is more sensitive (and equally if you press very hard with the stylus, the screen will be less sensitive in future use).

From where can I found that protection? I cant find any shields for touch hd from zagg.com
EDIT: My mistake, miss the words "will use"
How many of you are using a screen protector?
I just can't install this damn thing without making bubbles between the screen
and the screen protector.
Tried putting invisible shield today which covers the entire device. it came with
some spray to avoid dust but i'm still not happy with it. on the back it's ok, but
the front shield was so ugly and unclear that made me to remove it and now
i'm with no front protector at all.
The screen is more clear now but i'm afraid to scratch it.
Does anyone know how to install the screen protector in a way which it will be
totally unnoticeable?
I haven't ever used one, I find they make the screen less responsive. I do have a few scratches on my screen though but they are invisible when the screen is backlit...

Your screen protector is a must as scratches can appear on your screen very easily without it.
As for the bubbles I've managed to get mine on with only a couple of bubbles around the speaker & 3G camera. Doesn't bother me to much any more
Try this thread as it has a number of recommendations on which is the best screen protector to use
Yes, the screen protector is a must!
Especially for a device with such a huge display. I have read here about cracked displays and I am sure that screen protectors give added resistance against cracking (besides their primary function against scratches).
It takes PATIENCE to apply one though. I wasted 2 before i managed to put one flawlessly (well almost)
Some of the protectors can be washed and re-applied.
Do you really think it has some impact on the way the screen respond ? Does the screen protector makes the bends more noticeable when you press on the center of the screen ?
I've used my Universal for over 3 years with no scrren protector, and there is a mark in the top right where the X icon is but no other issues. However the Universal is a clam shell design so the scrren is protected when it's in my pocket. I don't think I'd want to use the HD without one.
I couldn't fit the screen protector that came with the HD properly because it has to be done with microscopic precision. However I bought 6 protecoter for £3 on Ebay from Ecell and am very happy. They're much easier to fit because they're a fraction smaller, plus you can use a couple to practice with and still have spares left over.
I use the protector from day one and I can't imagine not using it. It's just too much of a risk, and by watching my used protectors, how they're covered with scratches, some of them quite big and quite deep. I would not want to have this permanently on my screen.
I have bought some additional protectors as well. I predict I will be changing protectors every 3 or 4 months.
I have no idea why everyone seems to have so much problems with applying them. It was very easy for me to apply both the stock protector and the Brando protector. Just clean the front screen as thoroughly as possible with a piece of cloth that does not leave those small fabric hairs. I used a cleaning cloth for glasses, and put a few drops of window cleaning fluid as well to remove eventual grease.
After that it was piece of cake. Started at the top and just rolled down the protector in one smooth move. Had 1 bubble, which I simply pushed to the edge of protector until it was gone.
I reccomend you do all of this in a dust-free environment. Bathroom is a good place, for example. Let the dust settle for like 20 minutes before going in. Avoid rooms which have carpets and such stuff.
I used mine for the first month+ without the screen protector and sustained no scratches. I have one on now simply because one day I was putting stuff away, saw the screen protector, put it to my HD and it went on perfectly without trying, so I decided to keep it on.

GoldCoin,
Have you tried buying on from a phone shop and asking them to install?
I installed mine as soon as I removed the "do not sit down with the HD in your pocket warning" Best way to ensure that the screen is clean. Took a couple of attemps to get it started but a little effort and I got it. Left with a small bubble round the ear piece and one top right, but that looks like a slight defect in the protector as the alignment looks almost perfect.
When installing, I peeled back a portion of the protector and aligned it best I could - incidentally, I placed the HD back in the foam that it came in to hold it firm. Without peeling any more off I try to gauge the alignment. If I think is good to go, I slowly peel the backing whilst rubbing my finger back and forth across the area just stuck down.
Here's another suggestion. PSP Screen Protector installation
Good Luck,
Yes, it's a must!
I use a screenprotector and it has lot's of scratches on it, which otherwise would be on the screen itself
Absolutely!
I Use clear-coat and are very satisfied (had it on my diamond as well and have it on my psp)
Once you get a mark on the display u will regret going without.
Thank you all for sharing your opinions. already ordered a Brando protector + 3 extra just in case i will mess things up again.
Following Rozenthal advice i think i'll apply it in the bathroom this time and not in my dusty workroom.
Bubbles are not problem. After installing screen protector just take you credit card. You can remove all bubbles with credit card.
Just adding my two pennies worth. I haven't ever used a screen protector on any of my previous phones. However Touch HD is a little bit special (as we know) so I invested. The one that came with was utter....well it was naff. I bought an invisible shield but some areas didn't dry and adhese correctly....so I opted for Exim...now this was awesome....a few attempts later and I have it installed with no bubbles at all using a credit card to apply.
(Top Tip: use selotape to remove any unwanted dirt from the screen before installing....the static tends to draw dust to it straight out of the packet....helped me anyway!)

For what it's worth, it wouldn't hurt to use a can of dust remover or compressed air to spray the area before applying. Worked for me. Just a thought.
Does the normal screen protector that comes in the box makes the screen feels like bending when u press on it ? in the center specifically ? and makes you need to press harder when u tap ?
Invisible shield on mine and wouldn't be without a screen protector on any of my devices with my way of using them and pocketing them they tend to get scratched but loving the invisible shield. Should be installed at the factory imo

I've always used one, XDA mini, Kaiser and now the THD.
In all cases I've found the sensitivity is affected but to varying degrees.
In each case I've used tweaking tools to change the sensitivity back to acceptable levels.
But im only concerned to know. Does makes the screen feels like bending when u press on it ? I already know that all resistive screens do what i am talking about but does it increase when using a protector ?

I haven't experienced this with the Exim protector I am using. In fact...it's as though there is nothing there....even when swiping!
