[REQ] Manila Files for HD Weather Tab (Diamond Port) - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

I first want to congratulate all the hard work that has gone into getting the features of the TouchHD onto oru Diamonds and Pro's, but I also want to help. For some reason, everyother tab ported (stocks, contacts) have seem to have had a seamless transition to the lower resolution, but the weather tab is squashed up liek no one's business. I would liek to have a go at fixing the problem, but narrowing down the files for just this tab is proving to be impossible.
Can anyone points me to where I can get the files for this tab? I will be happy to share the fruits of my labour if I can work out a solution
EDIT: Sorry, just found it here. Now I feel embrassed...

[REQ] STOCKS TF3D Tab from Touch HD

Sorry if this has been psted before, but I just watched a video of the HTC Touch HD. The man shows off a new STOCK tab that HTC added to the TF3D.
I was wondering if anyone can take that tab and make it available for the Diamond.
Here is the youtube video....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4eYR_D4X18Q
Thanks
bump!!! searching for this apps too!
I guess no one knows what I'm talking about
This has been discussed before (I even opened a thread). Unfortunately, we can't port til someone has the device in their hand. Don't think it will take much longer once someone contributes the files within their HD.

TF3D without the 3d

Hi
Is it possible (or been explored) to have the TF3D from the HD etc on our polaris without the 3D aspect. I like the look of the tabs and there shortcuts but don't want the 3D driver problems.
Cheers
TF3D without the 3D is well....TF2D...lol
All the latest roms have it, it isnt exactly the same as TF3D, the "people" tab is different and we dont have a stocks tab but its as close as we are going to get.
I think should be a nice idea to have the slide of the picture tabs like the one in footprint. the same animation could be made on contacts (but I preferr the current version)
cheers
Its all the little shortcuts on the contacts tabs etc, and the calender tab that interest me, the flippy bits not so much. Basically moving away from anything to do with the bog standard WM appications that are touch unfriendly (i know third party software is out there

Have you looked at Throttle Launcher? Works fine and has many skins. Might be worth checking out?

Only used it for a while and not for some time - went back to Manilla 2D cos I like it better. Another one you might want to look at is PointUI. Now I was playing with that just the other day and that's got some kinda cool elements in it and not slow at all.
I guess there's no perfect solution, except the one that suits you best.
Yes, I'm currently under PointUi Home2 and I like it. My question was for information only ^^

Manila 2.5

Research for me has turned up somewhat conflicting results, so I ask if the community can shed some light, and in turn enlighten some of us who are in the dark.
Please correct me as I am sure there are some flaws in my knowledge here.
1. Manila / Sense 2.5 has been released officially, but only for the HD2 / Leo? And as such will only be released for this device.
leading to 2. therefore, the TP2 will never have *official* support for Manila 2.5 and it's lovely widget home / full-screen weather home screens
leading to 3. The Leo has no need for landscape support for all it's stuff because it doesn't have a keyboard?
leading to 4. I can discern that Manila 2.5 has added features such as Tiwtter integration and what has really piqued my interest, this "footprint" lark.
leading to 5. I am confused about Manila. It's obviously the program the runs the fancy TF3D interface jibbery-joo, but in some places I get the impression that it's heavily integrated into the windows ROM and so must come already baked in, and in other places It seems like it could almost be a cab file, ready for install?
leading to 6. does anyone know if HTC plans to give us poor TP2 users a widgetized home screen?
leading to 7. In some screen shots I have seen both the widgetised home screen, weather animations and footprint screen in use on what otherwise appears as Manila 2.1, especially the footprints things. Is this a seperate, installable module?
If it is possible to install the components (like footprints) or Manila 2.5 seperately, is there anyone offering them up, can't find them myself?
Many thanks for listening, it's all getting rather confusing.
Landscape support
Go to the aplications side of the thread. Theres apost called "Project Pulse"
Its a mod of 2.5 that supports landscape in all tabs but is still in early form with a few bugs. The developer is working on the bugs and will continue to update it. Its deffinatly worth looking at if you want to see landscape support for 2.5

well friend this doesn't need to be in the rom section but ill see what i can do with your questions.
1. yep it has been made for the htc touch hd 2 but i am guessing it will be made for future devices and touchflo 3d will be gone for good kinda of like what happend between touch flo 2d when 3d came out.
2. it is very doubtful that the touch pro 2 will get an upgrade like 90% chance of no.
3. Yea pretty much why they didn't just make a landscape now is beyond me i know they will eventually maybe if that rumor about the touch hd pro comes out or something.
4 Yea 2.5 has twitter app which really is just alright i would rather use twikini. And footprints has been out for awhile on touch flo 2d.
5.Its kinda of both in a sense there are plenty of cabs for touch flo 3d but it is built in by htc as a more or less skin such as spb mobile shell.
6. Very doubtful htc loves moving forward with things.
7.If you could show us a pic i might be able to answer that but someone would have to port footprints to 2.1 and i really doubt thats gonna happend any time soon.

Thanks for your answers man.
You're right it shouldn't be in the ROM section. But I kind of ummed and aarrred about it, and as you said yourself, it's a mixed bag whether manila is cooked in or not. Haha.
But very informative and I appreciate the time your took to reply. Kind of gives a good indication.

i wanted so much a good rom with 2.5 for my tp2.. what i wanted was a french version of the fusion rom, but as we know, attomang seems to have vanished because of some scamming business he tried...
however here's what i think about the OFFICIAL future of sense 2.5 in landscape : pocket now showed us some leaked pictures of upcoming htc models coming in 2010 (based on some xda informations), and it comes out that there's a tp2-like device coming out.. so if it isn't an android based device, i think we can hope that it will come with 2.5 (and that we can base our future roms on the one that will be provided with it)
---> look at thje third one called "TERA"
http://pocketnow.com/tech-news/hot-three-new-htc-windows-mobile-phones-for-2010
(sorry if me english bad.. me native language french xD)
EDIT / for /7/ "home creen animated...".. it is present in the official 6.5 upgrade (so it's a winmo6.5 with sense 2.1) -- animated weather is on with the default wallpaper (or you can say when no wallpaper is chosen, or set for the homecreen)

Looking for a few more things...

I just got the TP2 for USCC last week. (WM6.5) I haven't used WM in about 2 years and am pretty dissapointed to find a lot of the same issues that were present then. I used to be a fairly competent WM user with above average knowledge in registry editing, ROM flashing, etc but most of what I used to use seems to have changed. So far I have found the fixes for the sms sent notification and the organization of the contact list by last name, first to first, last.
I've been all over these forums and cannot find a fix to disable the onscreen keyboard from auto-popping...ever. Also, in the sound settings menu, there is a slider to adjust ringer volume and another to adjust system volume yet these two don't work independently. I want system volume loud for hearing things like my IM app that runs in the background yet have the ringer volume lower as it's over bearing on full.
Something else I have noticed is that some settings menus appear to be there but not functioning. For instance, under settings>all settings>today there is a 2nd tab for items that does not change from the appearance tab. I've notice several menu's like this throughout the phone. It seems like there are things that other versions of WM may have had that this doesn't or simply that Microsoft/HTC got lazy in the initial release and either did not remove tabs that were not intended to be there or forgot to finish some that should. Just wondering if anyone has some insight into this.
I'm also looking for a good free IM client. I've seen many apps across these forums but with so many out there, it's hard to find the right one for me. I refuse to pay $45 for Agile messenger (although I've seen hacked versions but I would prefer not to deal with that). It's a decent app, not great but decent but $45 for a very simple app is outrageous. So, I found Slick ( http://slick.en.softonic.com/windowsmobile ) which is a free app and works great! The only feature it is missing that I liked about Agile is a notification (similar to the annoying sms message sent notification that I removed) while the app is in standby. Does anyone know of another free IM app that is simple and has that feature? I only use Google Talk and have noticed some apps specifically for that but there are so many to try, I'm hoping someone has a good recommendation to save me some time.
The last thing I'm curious about pertains to Manila. I see Manila all over these forums. I've done some reading on it and have a good understanding of what manila is. But, it's very confusing as some thread talk about reflashing ROMS for it and others talk about installing cabs over your current rom for it. Does anyone have a link to a good thread(s) that will explain things more clearly so I can make an educated decision on the best way to try this out? A, Manila for Dummies, if you will.
Thanks in advance for any help!
Edit: It looks like the "Manila" Touch Flo design is incorporated in WM 6.5 on my device already? Is this mainly the custom tabs located at the bottom of the today screen?

There's an option to disable "Auto Deploy SIP" in Advanced Configuration Tool.

First of all, TF3D/TouchFlo3d, Manila, or Sense are essentially the same thing. It's a skin designed by HTC to cover up WinMo. You may say it's actualy just a very elaborate Today screen plugin. Since it takes up the whole screen, you would not be able to add other items.

See above for a crude definition. There are many versions, so that's why there's so much discussion in these forums about them. People are trying to use versions that didn't come stock with their devices.
TF2D or Manila 2D - for budget devices like the Touch Vivo, Touch Cruise, etc
TF3D v1 - originally came on the Touch Diamond and Touch Pro
TF3D v2- came with the Touch Diamond 2 and our Touch Pro2.
TF3D v2.1 - came with the release of the official WinMo 6.5 ROM for the Touch Diamond2 and our Touch Pro2. Identifiable with the weather under the clock in the Home tab.
TF3D v2.5 - came with the release of the Touch HD2. Has customizable shortcuts on the Home tab, revamped People tab, coverflow-like Pictures tab and Music tab when in landscape, and other goodies.
Btw, going forward, you may want to list out what you're asking in bullet point form. Most people are put off by long essay-like posts. You'll get more responses if your post is clear and short.

That actually clears it up quite a bit. So it appears that my CDMA TP2 with USCC is actually 2.1 or 2.5? I see you stated our TP2 is is 2.1 but your description of 2.5 seems to fit my phone. Either way, it looks like I can just addon on any Manila Cabs that customize the home screen more as Manila is already installed?

Where else are there menu options that doesn't look like they belong? Anyway, if there are, then it's because of Microsoft and not HTC. We're on WinMo is on version 6.5 now, but it really hasn't changed much since I first used a pocket PC back in 2000.

Certainly, there are components that are possible to install via cabs. But often, you'll need to flash a ROM with the particular build of Manila that you want to get those features.
So just to clear this up, if something is made for TF3D v2, it should (or might) work with our CDMA TP2 running the stock @M6.5 rom?
Also, anyone have a fix for the keyboard thing? I remembered the name of the cab i used to use, null keyboard but can't find anything that works with this rom. I've tried a few reg edits that have not worked.

It should, yes. However, if you have a TP2 with WM 6.5 you most likely have Manila 2.1 (in my case 2.1.191937). If you go to the Settings tab and scroll down, you should be able to see which version you have. That being said, many cabs work on all versions, a good few has to have a more specific version (like 2.0, 2.1 or 2.5) and a mere handful needs to be spot on (e.g. 2.1.1717).
After installing such a CAB you often need to restart your TF3D/Manila/Sense, and to do so you go to Start > Settings > Today and tick off HTC Sense. Tap OK and go back in to tick the HTC Sense box again. That restarts your TF3D.
Hope that made sense.
Thx for the clarification, I think I'm ready to start customizing this thing! I'm a bit hesitant as I really like alot of the features that come with the stock home screen. My last windows device was the 8125 and I modded the **** out of that home screen but this one I simply want to add a few highlights without loosing the over all look.
One thing I have been curious about is if there is a way to put a google search bar under the calendar. I know Google apps will put one up but then I have to go to my programs tab and open google apps so I might as well just eliminate a step and open opera.
I haven't checked to be honest with you, but I am satisfied with moving the internet tab a few notches closer to the home screen tab. I find that to be quick and easy enough! One tab on the tab and the google search is at the top of the screen.
Thanks for all the help! You gave me the tools I needed to dive back in. I understand the differences in Manila's now as I've flashed about 5 or 6 different roms. 2.5 is slick in theory, especially when Dusk Evolution v2.0 is theme is added but I had to return to 2.1. Thanks again for the help to get me started.
Im client look at PalRingo.. it's pretty awesome and covers most major networks (yahoo, MSN, gmail, facebook chat, icq others.
Yes, that's what I currently use. Kind of an old thread now too. I've come a long way since I started this thread.

Performance suggestion . Disable wallpaper

hey there
first i am sorry if this posting is against the forum rules, i do hope that it is not however.
here is my idea:
The Toch HD seems to be running much faster without any wallpaper. E.g. when the background of Manila is just black an there is no wallpaper at all, it scrolls more fluently.
so, is there any way to completely disable all the wallpapers in manila 2.5? in my case, i got the energy rom which sets wallpapers for all tabs by default, can i disable this?
i think we would get a nice performance boost.
regards, burobernd
p.s: no just taking a black picture file wont do the trick ..
x2
is there a cab to disable the wallpaper in home screen of Sense 2.5?
Bguards
Hello, do you mean when you use the standard wallpaper of manila?
I've one Idea. You could use http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=503511
With this programm you integrate a custom Wallpaper in Manila like its the standard wallpaper. So the wallpaper is a Manila file and not a jpg oder so...
Hope it helps

not using standard wallpaper nor installing cab created with HDWall, just remove all wallpapers in registry HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila, it would be obviously faster within manila 2.5.
Yes right but i have something to say... where are we going ? We need more and more Speed and often we want thinks from our Blackstone that he just CANT handle LOL my point is okay we can do many things for faster Manila so now we will remove all wallpapers and the phone will be with blank black screen ok.. so also we can CFC edit the manila images to make them alot more light but of course this will cause they to be not the best quality and the manila will be even faster.. then if we want we even can remove totaly some of the tabs and the Manila wil be more faster.. and alot other tweaks like this.. But my question is What we doing exactly? To be honest i prefer my device to be more slow but to look good and i to feel good when im playing with it.. so you spend alot of money for this device and on the final you even can`t have a wallpapr? LOL if someone need so Much Speed can buy Leo or Nexus One witch i think is the better choice right now..
We can make many many tweaks to have faster Interface but we will lose the quality and the beauty of that Interface
tsalta, this is a very interesting thought you have.
however, i see it differently: with all those shortcuts and weather icon and stuff on the homescreen, i think there are already enough (maybe even too much) items on it.
so, effectively, when setting a colorful wallpapers, the screen gets all messy which i dont like at all: no wallpaper at all allows me to have the clean and professional look i want to have, and yield a little bit of speed.
it is true that we should not pretend to have a leo with a 1ghz processor in it, so manila 2.5 might be a questionable choice. but, as it happens, the majority does want it on their phones, and then so be it. if they prefer a wallpaperless manila 2.5 to a wallpapered manila 2.1, that's legit!
and one last thing: i for my part didn't chose manila 2.5 because of the fancy homescreen but because of the many tiny fixes and enhancements in all the other tabs.
but as i said, you are right if you say that some roms are just loaded with fancy stuff that might run well on a leo, but not on our blackstone.
cheers
Yes yes it's just personal preference for speed or for eye candy. That's why many people are still using winmo 6.1 and many people are using energy's ROM. Thanks for the chefs here we get plenty of choices to balance our need
Actually it's kinda out of topic in the ROM development forum
MOD EDIT - Feel this thread is more suited in General discussion forum
