herm300 dead - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

Hello i try to unlock herm300 mda t mobile and spmthing goes wrong, and i need help, when i try to pover on. on scren shov mee m05 ,s04 b06 ,d1,21 no gsm, and show me logo t mobile this is end, is hangup, when i put in boot mode i have on the screan 4 color, and on display herm300 i pl-1,01 and herm300 spl-1,04., i try update but no sucess. Thank you.

I should have a sticky with this post , download and install the original carriers rom, if it was originally on o2 uk then use that rom. Ignore all the prompts saying tick if you have an active sync connection and tick them anyway and flash the rom, then hopefully your device will come back to life

the wiki is a vast source of info , if you tried looking on there all of these questions are pretty much answered
Try flashing the t mobile rom from here
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Available Original Shipped WM6 ROM Versions

Apologies for asking, but i've been round and round the site and I keep confusing myself as to what to use. I keep thinking I have fulfilled all the right tick boxes then I realise the ROM is for WM6 ... and I've only got WM5 at the moment. Or that its for a different version of the Hermes ... and I wasn't sure it would work on my handset.
I am wanting to flash my rom, should I use the T mobile one or some other one. I have an O2 sim in a T mobile Vario II.
I was also wanting to upgrade to WM6 but not sure if I should try and upgrade that first then flash the rom.
I've unlocked using a v3 unlock from here and I have used the Hard SPL-v7
Can somone advise me as to either which Rom to use or link me to where I can upgrade to WM6, and which way round I should do it.
Thanks.

Since you have unlocked and Hard SPLed your Hermes it doesn't matter what rom you use.
For personal preference though, I use the sd card method to flash the ROM as you get fewer problems that may "brick" your device. seeing as how you have Hard SPLed your Hermes try this.....
1. Format a 2Gb or less sd card FAT32. Copy the .nbh file of the ROM you want on it. Rename to hermimg.nbh .
2. Insert card into Hermes and go to bootloader - hold power button, OK button above the flywheel and reset with stylus. Hold all buttons in until you get to tri-colour screen A.K.A. bootloader.
3. As long as you have followed the instructions and have no spelling mistakes, follow the prompts.
JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE GOOD BATTERY CHARGE. You can't charge the battery while flashing.
I find that the only way to stuff up the flash like this is to reset with the stylus halfway through the flash (or have the battery die) so its safer.
As for ROMs, the ROMs you mentioned are stock ROMs. They are full of bloatware and tend to slow down your Hermes. Look in the WM06 part of this forum to see the newer WM6.5 cooked ROMs. Do some reading to see what you want (I believe theres a sticky at the top with about 50 WM06 roms) and make sure to read the last few pages as there are generally any problems and/or resolutions there.
Happy Flashing...
Cheers...

Many Many Thanks.
If I read this right. If I flash using a WM6 rom, will that give me WM6? I know that sounds stupid that I don't know, but I have found some comments really ambiguous due to some techno geek speak... I'm trying really really hard to find stuff and understand. I previously thought it would just change stuff behind the scenes.
Thanks again. I'll try it tonight if I get the chance.

yes this will give you WM6 .. and there are many great versions out there.. just find one you like by trying many of them or just look at some threads and flash.. but remember the rom must be found in hermes section .. do not flash it with a rom made for other devices hehe.. well good luck upgrading we're sure your gonna do great..

Won't get a chance to do it till the weekend now, Beer got in the way last night. However I'll have a go on Sat, which gives me time to go research the ROM's
Thank you! You're a star.

Okay next question.
Should I flash the Radio ROM before or after Flashing my ROM?
Also someone recommended that you should flash a stock ROM first, then a radio ROM then my chosen ROM (I think I'm favouring the Faria32 at the moment and its that thread i found the info on.)
Is there any point to this or should I go for the ROM I want and worry about the radio ROM later. ...

leave the radio alone unless you have truly **** reception on the vario, safer to just flash the rom OS(operating system or windows if you prefer)
Saying that though i have flashed my devices at least a 100 times each and had no problems, main thing to worry about is power, so make sure the battery is charged fully and the electric meter is topped up
You should only flash a stock rom if you are using a big storage rom or you have had hangups and slowness of your device before hand. There is a ATT stripped rom with no radio in it that i use from here, think that might even be in the faria thread.
Anyway try flashing the faria rom then if it is acting sluggish or hanging just flash a stock rom then flash it again with the faria rom
Good luck and happy flashing +
XDA-Developers the only place you can flash as much as you like and the cops dont arrest you

I stayed up wayyy past bedtime last night and flashed my rom.
Colour me happy.
I've an all singing all dancing working phone... though i lost settings when i reloaded my backup... but then finally managed to get them from O2 again... though they had "idiots r us" on duty this morning.
Though MMS still seems to be having problems.... I'll trawl a while and see if I can find a solution to that... though I think its a case of O2 just not allowing it cos its a Tmobile handset. grrrrr.

Download a version of Arcsoft mms composer and install to the hermes, NOT sd card. Run the service wizard, if your rom has it, and that should fix the problem.

Okay. I followed instructions and downloaded Arcsoft. I then tried to run the O2 settings on it from O2UK_Mobile_Settings cab. It doesn't seem to have fixed the mms settings.
I've tried manually typing in various o2 settings which I've located. I'm not sure if I've missed something important or not.
I don't think i have the service wizard on my phone, but having only just been researching flashing ROMs for the last couple of weeks I'm still on a steep learning curve. So if its liable to be part of the Faria 32 Rom and i've just not found it can you point me in baby speak to it.
Appologies for being thick.
I have been trying to find the information on the site, however the search engine doesn't seem to like mms as a seach term... and when i do get stuff up it seems an awful lot of folk asking for help... or its advice for other operators.
NB I have phoned O2 about this twice... and I find it increasingly frustrating being told that they'll send me the settings straight to my phone, which failed doing it on the net so why would it work for them? then they emailed instructions... which involved directions to the automatic setup... which I'd already tried. Then they sent the Mobile Web settings and how to set up my email... none of which I asked for, I asked for the MMS settings. Please tell me someone has the right settings which work and don't make me have to deal with them. I'm sure I speak a different language...

I can't remember if Faria's rom had it in there, its pretty old now.
Do a search for network setup cab. Just do some reading to see if it is ok for you as some are country or network specific, a case in point is Circ_au's setup wizard, Australia only.

I've already tried using the O2 settings cab i did find, as I previously mentioned.
I was hoping someone had advice or settings which definitely work so I could establish whether it is a phone prob or an O2 problem.
I have been directed here but that didn't work either.

I've been on the phone to O2 again (I hoped 3rd time lucky... FAIL) but got the same instructions and the inability for someone working there to understand I have followed instructions, and I do understand how it works... and no the "automatic settings" are not working and no you haven't sent me the mms configuration ... the GPRS settings are not the same thing... wimper...
The outcome of the phonecall was that the person at the other end of the phone decided it is entirely to do with my handset and that i need to speak to TMobile.
.. having unlocked my handset about a year ago and having recently flashed my ROM. I now have a very happy phone and its makeover is spiffing, I don't think it will be a Tmobile thing. ... cept I still don't get MMS. I keep getting a message "error synchronising" when i try a send/recieve.
Is there something I'm missing? I've tried and O2 settings cab and that didn't work. I've been on filesaveas and tried their settings still no joy.
Is there some form of wee thing i'm missing that Tmobile have hidden in there that would prevent me from using MMS? Or is the person at O2 BSing me ... cos they obviously haven't got a clue?
Any instructions or advice welcome.

Okay update is that I spoke to O2 again and got them to check my mms is set up and that my number has been properly ported across. Just in case. According to them all was good, but just in case they were going to switch off my mms then switch it on again and see if that works.
I've run through some settings (after waiting an hour to make sure they had plenty time to make sure they had finished fiddling.) and still no luck. still getting "error synchronising"
any more suggestions? I've a feeling there may be something somewhere that is really obvious and i'm missing something.

More update. Someone suggested that the porting problem may have stemmed from Tmobile not setting up their end of the porting of their number properly. This person managed to sort something out with them, so I phoned Tmobile to see what they can do for me.
... 15 min later and I'm no further forward, however the guy was really really keen to help and was trying to suggest idea's. Eventually I admitted defeat though he seemed really disappointed not being able to solve my problem. It was kinda sweet.
So as long as we trust the folk i've spoken to, O2 and Tmobile have got everything sorted... so it should just be a phone problem... most likely my settings
but its still not working. I'm still getting an error synchronising message when i hit send/recieve and nothing is sending from my phone.

Okay. I'm such a noob!!!
Forgot to hard reset after flashing my rom... I appear to be having limited success MMSing now. I say limited i've a couple of mates getting the weblink rather than the picture, but at least I know it isn't a phone problem!!!
Hopefully my witterings will help someone else with similar problem.
Thanks for all the help.

Herm300 flash
Hi friends, I really need your help now 'cos i just messed up my phone Herm300. Actually the network service was out and i attempted to flash the ROM with the hope it will solve the problem then it got stuck in the four color screen showing HERM300, IPL-1.01 and HERM300, SPL-1.40.olipro on the top left of the sreen. Hard and soft reset would not help. i used the RUU_MAINENTRY. kindly help me recover the phone. Thanks

Dutch to english ROM

Hey guys,
Im another newbie, but who is actually scared of screwing up the phone. I have the Tmobile MDA compact III obviously, and the information page looks like this:
ROM version 1.13.114.1 NLD
ExtRom version 1.13.114.101
Model nr ARTE 110
CPU OMAP850
Im not so sure what this information tells you people who are knowledgable about this, however can I safely use the customised powermap file from this website's ftp (ftp://ftp.xda-developers.com/Artemis/Customized_ROMs/) to change the phone to english?
What are the procedures EXACTLY please, and what problems should I expect.
Another thing, what is CID lock, and how can I see if mine is or not?
I checked most of the threads, so I am knowledgable about this issue a bit, however because none of the topics were specifically about the Dutch version I wanted to make sure. Thank you a lot for your help...
1. you have to CID unlock your phone. only real solution is imei-check website, and that will cost you $40. this will prevent MANY of the problems with installing ROMs
2. don't do updating on Vista PC, use XP or older
3. follow on screen instructions of your chosen ROM update utility. don't panic if it takes too long and looks like the update process has "freezed". make yourself a coffee and let it finish installing.
4. enjoy!
PS... i strongly suggest you read as much as you can on this forum before doing any upgrading.... then you'll know what to expect.... and of course, don't forget that only YOU are responsible for anything that happens to your device, good or bad... good luck!
hey dim4x4,
thanks for the post, I appreciate it. However is the exe file I mentioned (customised power map) the right one? i know there are a few options to chose from, like the 3 options of the pdamobiz.com website. While im not too clear of the main differences, the general concensus on the forum is that the powermap is preferred, and has a lot of nice things. Is there a better one? perhaps on a different ftp. Maybe if you have one you can send it to me.
Another thing, if it dont work, or works and I dont like it, can I get back to my original ROM, the dutch one from the tmobile dutch file on the ftp site as well?
Thanks
1. Personally, I use PDAmobiz Lite version. Powermap version has a map of Thailand which I don't need. "A lot of nice things" for my purpose is a lot of unnecessary stuff. If I need something I can install it myself into RAM or storage card. You have to choose the version which suits you best.
2. Everything is on this server. You have to register to log in http://www.wm-gurus.com/registration/signup.php
3. I went back and forth with different ROMs (versions, languages, etc.) without any problem until I found more or less what I want. Please note, my device is CID unlocked by imei-chek.
Good luck!
Urgent Help
I tried the powermap version of the ftp. This is exactly what I did:
I connected the phone and established contact through activesync, then I started the exe file. The DOS windows opened, and then it started initialiying, and the process started. It said that it will take 15-30 mintues, and the process has started. So far im sure everypone is familiar with those. However, I waited about 35-40 minutes, and still nothing different on either screens. The DOS window said however that if nothing starts I should reset the process. I tried but didnt work. At that time I tried to reset the phone and now it is stuck in the startup screen. All I see on it is the IPL/OS data, and it is not moving further.
Please help, what do I do now?
So this is what I did so far....
1. Flashed with PDAMobiz_Dopod_P800W_AKU301_v1.1.2_PowerMap.exe (with device on Today screen)
2. The process started and stuck on "uploading file [don't remember] and as the instruction said I reseted the phone after 30 minutes.
3. All there is on is T-Mobile splash screen, version infos and that's it.
5. Tried to flash again in bootloader mode but the device was not visible by PC
How do I go from here? Maybe I need to flash the original rom version of the phone. I have the dutch tmobile mda compaxt III, but with the dutch ROM version on the ftp of this site is scary, because there are too many files and have no clue which one to flash.
Any suggestions?
There is no Dutch T-Mobile ROM available yet.
You could try the English T-Mobile ROM (art_tmouk_11311001_024990_wwe_ship.exe), which is available on this site: http://www.wm-gurus.com/registration/signup.php
There's a chance this ROM will work on your Dutch T-Mobile phone, if the signature is correct (I assume your phone is still CID locked).
Read this link http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Artemis_Resets on how to enter the bootloader of your phone.

CID unlocking isn't possible if your phone isn't working.
If you don't have your original rom, you have to contact your provider to repair it.
try from bootloader screen
Hi I also did as u did but with a hards reset in the beginning. And it worked fine.read somewhere that if u dnt do a hard reset you could get into problems. If u can try to go to bootloader screen and try to flash from ther.
flashing from the bootloader screen gives me an error, the file cannot recognize that a phone is connected to the PC. that is the biggest problem I think.
DO you know how to flash the Tmobile NL version on the ftp. there is one that I dont know how to use

Did i brick my Tmobile MDA? HEEELLLLPPP

Hey guys i tried flashing my rom using the Shelltool. I loaded the two cabs on the device and put it back to Tmobile 2.26. While i was in the shelltool it told me to do a hard reset and i think the phone was frozen (it didnt go to the normal colorful screen like usual) so i took the battery out of the back and powered it on. I left the software running like it said but it just froze up.
Now my MDA wont move past the Tmobile screen. I REALLY need a hand with this because this phone keeps my life in line! I dont even think ill be able to get up tomorrow because all my alarms go off my phone
Let me know if theres anything i can do otherwise im looking at a Motorola A1200 :-(
kind regards,
Eddy
Hi there,
Not familiar with Shelltool. I do most of my flashing using ActiveSync. Have you tried forcing the phone into Bootloader Mode (hold the Camera button while turning it on). Worth a shot.
If t-mobile was the original ROM on the phone, then just flash it again using the exe (or RUU if you extracted the files from the exe) instead of using shelltool and see if that brings it back to life.
well its stuck on the tmobile splash and shows no actual connection to the machine would it still work?
If you can get into bootloader mode then you should be fine. Just put your device into bootloader and flash wizard love rom or the rom that your device came shipped with.
Good Luck
looks like its working guys but its most likely still going to look and be WM5. Im still willing to try and get WM6 on it tho. I have the roms but its just not working any ideas?
Well, if you're flashing the t-mobile ROM right now then it is going to be WM5. Since you now know what to do if the ROM your loading doesn't stick, try flashing the ROM you were trying to flash again. By the way, what was your IPL and SPL before you flashed it the first time where it didn't work? If it was less than 2.xx then that was your problem most likely. If you're now updating to the latest t-mobile ROM the way I told you to (using the exe or RUU) then your IPL and SPL now should work fine with WM6.
Well I just finished upgrading my MDA to WM6. Here's what I did. First off I
fould out that you need the phone CID Unlocked for it to accept the WM6
ROM. Follow the instructions on this thread by Dr. Puttingham.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=285435
This should get your MDA ready provided it is a G3 (thread will tell you how
to tell the difference.) Then follow the directions on mfrazzz's thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=324632
I had problems with my MMS after the update but after re-installing the WM6
ROM and installing the CAB files by Lurch anf FZZF I got that problem
squared away. Believe me when I say I know what you are going thru. I
was fiddling around with this for about a week. Luckily I am on vacation and
I had plenty of time to read and decipher alot of the info I found. Good luck
and remember to READ, READ, READ. BTW, props to all that contributed to
these fine tutorials and for this awesome ROM. I have it running on my MDA
for three days now and am very happy with it. I am also using the 3.08
IPL/SPL which seems to give me better reception, which my wife seems to
appreciates

Newbie To Mda

I just got a TMobile MDA, and am brand new to this. I tried upgrading thru TMo site, but couldn't get Windows Mobile 6.0. Still have ROM 2.26.10.2; Radio 02.25.11; ExtROM 2.26.10.105. Anyway, I tried SNN Ver 2.o off of this site and it wouldn't upgrade. Any help from anyone before I start looking through site. Just looking for direction and a helping hand before I fry my MDA. Thanks to one and all. Looking forward to making great use of the site.!!!

You will need to make sure that your phone is unlocked before you can proceed with any upgrades to wm6
Check out the Wizard Wiki also - lots of great info
Remember - you are on your own, you are responsible for any issues with your phone. But, if you read the sticky posts here, and on the wm6 wizard board - the directions, while extremely detailed - are right on.
Read, understand, and when you are ready to proceed - do not skip a step, and if the directions tell you to flash something, or upgrade something twice - it is for a reason - do it twice.
Good luck
mucho thanks
Much appreciated. Don't know if phone is unlocked, but like you said ... will read everything twice. Thanks alot. One more thing ... can you guide me to info on how to find out if fone unlocked ... or how to do so. Once again, thanks. Looking forward to using the info.

You can find the tool here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=329170
You install it on your pc - and it will read and diagnose your phone through the usb connection.
Read through the attached post - lots of info, download the file - and good luck
actually i bought the phone from ebay and it didn't come with sync cable its 8125 from at&t is there another way to unlock it somehow maybe. Please help me
You can't upgrade without the usb cord and a computer (you can, but it is far more difficult.
First you need the USB cord
Then You need "Wizard Service tool" Type that in to the search engine on this forum.
Then read the stickies (the ones at the top of every forum) related to the wizard
hint: Faria; Dr. Puttingham.
Then search wor the "Wizard service manual" which will explain how your the wizard works and has IMPORTANT information for you in case you screw up and have to put your Wizard into bootloader mode manualy. You can still recover even if it looks really bad.
Then you need the lockwiz tool that works. I'm not sure that the wizard serice tool will unlock the phone, I did it the hard way before discovering it.
Then you need a version of WM5 that has a hacked IPL and SPL 1.5.xxx (you willl find that in the upgrading and modifying thread on the wizard forum
Once you downgrade; you can use the WST(maybe) or Lockwiz (most likely) to unlock your device (you may have to run it twice or more if you are not paying enough attention)
After the phone is unlocked you should upgrade back to the 2.26 version (Tmobile rom)
Then you should know how to flash roms by then.
Getting the thing unlocked is the difficult part. The cooks make flashing easy. You will probably not be able to yse your device for about a day while you make sure that you follow all the steps making sure that you get it right.
also read all of the directions well. I know it is a lot of information and can be hard to swallow. idoubt that you will "Brick" your wizard. It might seem that way at times; especialy while you are flashing the rom as it take a long pause sometimes right in the middle of it and it's scarry. You should be able to recover just fine. (I have a TMo MDA and it was built far better than I think HTC intended to build it)
Lastly. Take the plunge when you are confident that you have all of the tools, Information, and contingency plans (such as the 2.26 version of tmobile rom)
Word of advice while you are looking for an upgrade: All ROMs have "issues" so if you read all of the posts on a rom that looks good to you, you will see that a lot of people are complaining, asking for improvements and so on. This is what you should use to chose what you want to put into your phone. If you start a thread "which is the best Rom? expecting that the information will come to you; you won't get far. I know that my "join date" says one thing, but I have been looking at this forum since august off and on to see if I should even make an attempt or open my mouth before I figured out how things work here. Heard a preecher say once "God helps those who help them selves" and while I'm not partcularly religious, I have to agree with that kind of policy.
good luck, and don't panic if something unexpected happens; in about a half hour you will figure out how to fix it... unless you panic and loose your head.
Some dude was threatening to "throw (his) phone into a wall." That's not very productive.
To unlock through lokiwiz02b tool,it must have direct physical connection between phone and pc via Activesync. Although, its possible to Activesync with BT(BlueTooth),but not sure if unlocking is possible, according to my understanding,it shud be possible,as all the data can be transfered and all the info can be exchanged via BT,there shudn't be a problem, but as I have never tried it myself,I can't be sure, its certainly not possible to flash a Rom with BT.Rom is flashed in Bootloaders mode only, and in bootloaders,Bt doesn't work,so flashing of rom is only possible via usb cable connectivity.
Cheers!
Everyone keeps saying "the USB cord" when the actuality is, "A(ny)" USB cord will suffice. Any USB to 5-Pin (Mini B) is fine. You should be able to score one from a local electronics source for less than $10 US. Considering their value to you (being able to use ActiveSync, being able to flash the phone), I'd say it is a sound investment in your future fun with the phone.
Here's a (linked) example:

Imate jasjam

Hi,
i am new to the forum, Please forgive my whining. I have being tryin to flash my imate Jasjam foe the past 3 days without success. i have gone through this forum front to back and tried almost everything. i have even downloaded almost everything you have but still my phone shows "NO GSM" wen booting. It dosent even flash. the closest i have to to is 13%. everything works perfectly except the GSM part. please i need help. im kinda a noob to the flashing thing so i would appreciate details on how to get this done. Thanks
Did you Hard SPL your phone first?
yes i did. i even used different versions of hard spl
Make sure you have Hard SPL ver7(phone should display in bootloaderIPL 1.04, SPL 2.10 Olipro) then try the sd card method of flashing an os. use a stock rom though to see if your radio can be fixed (this is the problem part). You need to format an sd card fat32 then copy the .nbh file onto it (not into a folder). rename it "hermimg.nbh" then put fone into bootloader(tri-colour) screen by pushing and holding ok button above flywheel, power button and using stylus to reset. HOLD ALL BUTTONS UNTIL IN BOOTLOADER... Follow instructions from there.
If you cant reflash your radio rom, you can still put a cooked rom on and use for a PDA but you won't be able to use as a phone again, sorry...
Hope this helps....& good luck...
thanks. i havent tried it with an sd card b4. i do that now. what version of rom do u recommend????
whats that feeling you get when you've felt like your going down that road again?
ps i got sick of trying to find the MMS settings menu in most of those other roms and just reloaded the default telstra one again! >.<
i was kinda hooked on CRC's roms, due to his locality of cooking but i dont mind some of the crystal ones Tyr0's
hi, i have tried the sdcard method. first i hard spled using v7 then i copied the nbh files as u instructed. i have tried it using different .nbh files and i have the same result. it gets stuck on the part where it is supposed to update the radio.what should i do pls
the "No GSM" is when the Radio Rom is blank, and is next to impossible to re-write. there is a section in the forums for this problem.
as far as things go, its probably now just a PDA, but keep searching the forums for people who have rescued their radio rom, you may get lucky
please can u point me to the thread??? i have gone through almost all the threads for a solution and so far i have come up blank.

Depends on how you went about it.
If i were in your position i would try the following
Try a couple of Manufacturer roms WITH radios in it
ie
Try the HTC then try the Telstra 6.0 one.
Secondly check the sim slot.
Carefully bend the guides down and the 6 pins up so when you put in your sim it is very firm.
I had the No GSM problem this week and it turned out to be this (after numerous grief/fixes and workaround).
post back the results
i have pretty much given up on my imate. i have tried every method recommended by everybody but still, i've got nowhere. As a PDA, the device works very well but that is basically useless to me without the phone functions. Please if there is any new input, i would appreciate it. The device boots with NO GSM.
i have actually already tried a couple of "Manufacturer ROMs", dunno if they were good. could u point m eto where i can get any of those??? Thanks

T-Mobile HD2 with serious problems

Firstly sorry for the long post.
I'm having a few problems with my HD2, and I'm looking solutions that dont involve flashing the t-mobile ROM (which is 1.43.110.2). I have all the HTC patches installed.
The problems I'm having are ...
*Favourites are disappearing sporadically. I cant figure out whether they're going when I sync it up or just purely at random. They stay on the internet tab but disappear from the favourites menu. Folders are not affected.
*Music player: Lags. I have to wait about 2-3 minutes before a song starts playing on the first attempt, then its fine. This happens even if the little spinning circle hasn't appeared (this appears after you have updated the storage card by syncing with media player). Also when sliding album art back and forth in landscape mode, it freezes, and then jumps back to the beginning of the stack. Didn't used to do this.
*Music Sync - my biggest nightmare right now; I really need help on this one! Sync in windows 7 windows mobile device manager works fine. When I load up WM player and attempt to sync the storage card however, the device will sync for a couple of minutes, and then soft reset itself.
Hopefully when 6.5.3 comes out officially HTC will roll up all the crappy patches and T-mobile will approve it... but until then I'm stuck with these annoyances (in addition of course to crappy SMS, constant crashing, lags etc., which I certainly wasn't expecting when I got my shiny new HD2
I was in a similar boat to you. The Tmo ROM is really poor and I hate to tell you this but 1.48 or 1.61 are the answer.
If you really can't consider that option, I'd say that you should do a hard reset and see what issues you still have with a fresh ROM. The original T mo ROM is on here somewhere. download that as a backup before you do anything, just for safety.
realy sorry mate but he is right try and see if you can get hole of a free goldcard i run 1.48 insted of t-mob its not purfect but worls alot better
Thanks for your responses. I guess flashing is the only option, cos right now this phone really is virtually unusable. I'll have to try and get my head around the whole goldcards thing but if I get stuck I'll start a new thread...
Thx!

Hi mate, had the same issue. The gold card thing isn't too bad, theres a great idiots guide on here that I used, the hardest bit is getting the number off the MicroSD card, dont do what I did and lose all my data on it (as you edit some values which makes Windows no longer recognise it sometimes). Take a copy of whats on there just incase. Again there is a post that mentions a way of reversing the change so you have lost all your data on the memory card.
Good luck, I did without any probs to flash from 1.43 to 1.48 using the Goldcard method
I have the same problem with favourites and i'm on the 2.02 ROM. I never touch IE on my computer though so i've not put much thought into what happens with the sync. I'm just throwing together a wee app to sync it with Firefox though so that will solve my issues.
As for synching it with media player (and i'm old school - I drag and drop files), could there be any corrupt/unrecognisable data in your playlist? You could try a drag/drop dump of music onto your device and see if that works.

There is now HSPL and SSPL available so goldcard is no longer required, using SSPL or HSPL is much easier too
Hi, I converted my T-Mobile HD2 to 1.48 using SSPL. After a couple of teething troubles with Firewalls and a hanging Activsync - fixed with a PC restart it worked just great. It scared me twice when it hung in the boot loader but taking the battery out and restarting fixed it. I made a goldcard aswell just in case but do not really know if it would have worked.
Now its loaded The HD2 seems faster, has more programs and the battery seems to last longer particularly with WLAN.
I still have 1 open question though that I have, touch wood, not had to find the answer for yet. If I do a hard reset which ROM reboots, T-Mobile or the 1.48? Perhaps somebody here knows? I would be grateful to find out before I have to try it out.
Good luck and hopefully it works as well for you.

i believe if you hard reboot it will revert to the Tmobile rom.. as you used SSPL... only if you do a HSPL will it stay... correct me if i'm wrong guys

Incorrect...your Rom does not change regardless of flashing method SSPL or HDSPL. If using the SSPL method a hard reset will remove the SSPL only, and your SPL ONLY will revert back to original, Your latest Rom does not change....
Thanks for the quick responses guys but I am still a bit confused - sorry.
Perhaps in laymans terms -
If I have to hard reset, when the phone reboots will I get all of the T-mobile c**p again and have to go through the SSPL process again- which is not easy when on a business trip, or will I keep the HTC version.
If as I think I understood from band27 I get the HTC version back but lose the SSPL what effect will that have?
thanks again
No, When you hard reset you will get exactly the same ROM as you have before you hard reset. IT will be just like the first time the phone booted after you initially re-flashed it.
The only way to return it to T-Mobile's ROM is to find the download that 'football' posted a few weeks ago and flash it.
Plz let a noob continue this question
If i use SSPL to flash a cooked ROM and for some reason want to go back to a original ROM, how?
Is it correct that i only take my original ROM and flash it as usual, or do i need to do annything els?
Do i need a goldcard?
Plz help a noob
