Is it possible to switch my fuzes faceplate with the nice sprint chrome one from their touch pro. It looks alot better although i'd prefer fuzes backplate. If so does anyone know where to find the original faceplate from sprints touch pro wth chrome trim. Thanks in advance!
no... the parts are incompatible... the only parts interchangeable with your fuze are those from the european GSM touch pro.... meaning, you can change out your full qwerty keypad, and the battery door... internal parts are also compatible, but thats a different story....
you like that chrome trim? that gets really nasty real fast. (just my opinion, everyone's entitled to one)
but yeah, bfieldingsw is right... the fuze shares a much much more similar housing with the GSM touch pros
sorry.
which better HTC Touch Pro or HTC Touch Diamond2 ?
now i have HTC Touch Pro, can buy HTC Touch Diamond2, which better
and why?
2 is always better than 1, right?
Strictly in terms of specs, the TD2 outclasses the TP, but there is a Touch Pro 2 available, which just ever so slightly outclasses the TD2. However, it is heavier, larger, and more expensive. From there, it depends on how badly you need a 'real' keyboard.
The only advantage of the Touch Diamond 2 is the slim size (and longer WVGA screen vs. TP). I prefer the more solid feel of the Touch Pro, and after seeing the Tilt 2 (TP2) today, it's definitely a better phone than the Pure (TD2).
Interestingly, the Pure demo phone at the AT&T store had an unresponsive screen. They said it was the second one that had failed. It could have been from their security controls, since I haven't heard of the TD2 having a bad screen.
i was trying to figure that out myself. td2 or tilt2. i havent played with the tilt 2 yet. i bought the pure and love it. like everyone else says is the keyboard and the more cost worth it. to me it wasnt. i bought the fuze when it first came out. i rarely used the keyboard. so a keyboard wasnt that important to me. either way i think there both good phones and you'll be happy with either one.
The TP is not equal to D2. TP is the equal to Diamond1.
So it's D2 of course.
For me, the absence of a real keyboard was offset by the Diamond 2 being slimmer, lighter, and narrower, and therefore fits easily in your pocket with a silicone cover protecting the case.
I rarely wear a jacket to work, so I can't put it in any larger pocket, and since dropping my Himalaya about 4 years ago and smashing the screen, I've not trusted belt clips (fastening broke).
I had the original tilt, got it when it first came out. I really liked the phone. I loved the tilt up screen for video viewing. Im a pocket carrier so the only complaint I had was the size. It was a bit bulky in the front pocket. This time around I got the pure and am loving it so far as well. Definitely feels better in the pocket. Love the 5mp cam. Not sure what the tilt 2 is equipped with. Have deleted many unwanted programs to free up space and helps immensely with lag as others have complained about. Was majorly disappointed that it doesnt support all flash as I was under the impression from the pre-release descriptions. So far thats my only complaint.
I used to face question as same as yours when i decided to buy a new phone to instead of my old hurricane. Between TD2 and TP, finally i choose the first one.
hi!
I was just wondering. Has anyone tried to use a pen on the HD mini. I know the HD mini comes without a pen, but I don't know for sure whether the screen only responds to the fingers (warmth) or whether it also responds to pointy things (pressure).
Using ones fingers to control a smartphone is alright, but I do like using a pen for the fidgety stuff or scribbling notes. I also use the pen that goes with my wacom tablet on my phone when I am working both at the same time.
So I am curious about this.
Can anyone tell me more about this?
Pen
HTC HD Mini has a capacitive display so you cannot use pen because it doesn't respond on a pressure caused by pen. Fingers only.
Hi,
It exists some capacitive pens, but be careful.
I purchased some cheaper pen on ebay for almost nothing; nevertheless they do not work well.
What I tried to do is to find a precise pen for playing to games where precision is needed like ScumVM.
But these cheaper pens react less well than the finger and are less precise. In brief the fingers are better!
Nevertheless I found a special HTC pen “ST C400”, they say that is a must. I ordered one but it cost about $40 with shipping, for only one pen! I hope for this price it will work!
Capacitive pens for the mini
The HTC STC400 from htc or on Ebay(about £16 in the UK) will work fine on it and seemingly also on most of the htc range.I use one on 3 different htc phones including the Mini.
The cheaper ones are very poor and feel just like an ordinary pencil rubber !! and drag so better to avoid them
Clive
You can also search for the capacitive pens from a taiwanese company called "DAGI". They are more affordable than the HTC STC400 and are really precise. From what I can tell, they use almost the same design as the HTC STC400.
Having to buy a expensive special pen that doesn't fit in the actual phone itself, doesn't strike me as progress, to be honest.
So how about scribbling and doodling with your fingertip instead of a pen?
Does that work?
I find it hard going on the pressure sensitive screen on my Touch. I have to use my nail for it to work, and I can't see what I am writing.
@ Windows: you´ll probably need some time to get used to the capacitive screen. As a previous HTC diamond user I also used my nails to type and to navigate through my phone. Nails don´t work on capacitive screens. You´ll have to put the flesh of your fingers on the screen. The problem for scribbling is that the line you draw is usually thinner than your finger. So you cannot really see what you are drawing. Since recent programms are usually fingerfriendly I didn´t encounter that many problems so far. Only programms that use a lot of drop down menus can be really tricky. I only use the pen for one programm. But even we that in mind, I personally wouldn´t go back to a resistance touch screen.
same as nivi,
I am not sure if it is really a resistive or capacitive debate, but new phones are really more reactive.
I broke my mini and I had to return to Diamond (resistive) but very slow in regard to mini, and I have lot of dificulties to readapt myself to the stylus and Diamond usage.
take a look at this :

Hehehe
LOL ... a porc ou chicken ?
I broke my 5th Touch, it's the lcd this time. This time I don't have the insurance. It maybe time to move on since Android 2.2 on the Touch is just a little too slow for me. I see Eris's occasionally pop up for <$200 but the it appears to be not much faster then an over clocked Touch. Samsung Moments pop up for the same price but I don't think I want keyboard anymore. They do have a 800 mhz processor and a nice screen. For the most part the Moment isn't that stellar of device but I am curious about how the hacked roms run on it. Any input on these two phones would be appreciated.
If I decide to keep the Touch, I saw I can pick up a LCD on ebay for $44 (includes shipping from HK). Anyone one know of better deal? More importantly, is there a better LCD that can be installed on the Touch?
Just an FYI, I did end up buying a new LCD. It was $27.65 and the seller was in Westminster, Ca (LA area). So it was over night shipping, sure beats waiting for stuff from China. First link is the LCD and Second link is his Ebay store. Display looks and works fine. Very easy repair.

I've had mine since December 2014. Pretty zippy, screens a lot more brighter than my old Asus Vivotab Smart me400. The build quality is pretty good. The only spot that is creaky is where the headphone jack is.
The bezels are very small and the back is metal giving it a premium feel. However, it also makes it slippery compared to a plastic back.
I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and the stylus and I would say this tablets stylus input is about 80% close to the experience on my Note 4.
Writing and input with the stylus is pretty accurate and an overall good experience.
I found that the screen input technology is the same as Hanvon (a chinese rival to Wacom).
So if you lose the stylus just goto Aliexpress type in the search box "hanvon stylus" and buy anyone of those as a replacement.
Overall I'm quite impressed with the tablet. I use it to take notes at work and surf the net here and there. Being Windows OS its pretty easy to use (if you can get over it Windows 8).
