hi, are there any new official roms for the HD? i just got mine on orange and i wanna get any update out of the way so i dont loose my settings and stuff by having to flash it soon lol.....
There is no official update for the moment - just one version and it's on your phone ......
Slightly off-topic but is it normal for HTC to release upgrades for their products with new and improved features and applications? Or do they save these for the next product range and just send out the Hot Fixes to fix bugs?
With 16 months to go before my Orange upgrade it would be good to look forward to some HTC goodies.....but I am in a dream world?
Well I flashed to an Official ROM v1.19 WWE released in Asia.
The ROM feels quicker especially TF3D, more stable, bug fixes, minor software updates etc. No added features though but XDA will give you all the goodies.
Fantastic community!
HTC should be contributing some of their funds to XDA as it provides the best customer service.
I really wish HTC would issue some more official ROMs with all the software updates, rather than a few untidy patches.
I think HTC shoul extract Touch Flow a little from the hardware and giv all the new version to older phones, too.
It is a SMARTPHONE and has the ability to get enhanced.
Like apple does with the iPhone

Called HTC customer care: they said they are still far away from new ROM release, the end of month release date has been missed , they said now two months or more!
Oh damn.. HTC is slow !!
I recon we will have custom ROMs before this official from HTC !!!
HTC is very low serious !!!
We must find a solution to resolve stack bluetooth and all the other problems for TyTn etc.

Custom ROMs, next device more like.
What puzzles me is I have seen the leaps and bounds the fine developers here have made with no salary and lacking hardware documentation. Why does it take HTC so long with all the resources at their disposal?
good question.
Ooooohhhhh... what a big suprise :S ..... NOT!

I suspect the answer may lie in the prioritising of work - HTC may pay their engineers / software development people, but I doubt they pay them simply to create up-to-date ROMs for existing or old devices (as much as we'd like them too!).
My guess is that these staff are tasked with testing / dev work for upcoming / future devices, and as such can only devote (comparitively) small amounts of time / effort to developing new ROMs for existing devices.

They are all much furious for this delay but because is not found one solution without to wait for htc?
i guess we either wait for HTC or we all pitch in to cook an AKU3.X or crossbow rom (and hopefully gps enbled)
unbelievable this device has really lost me a lot of confidence in HTC as it is so buggy! The wizard was very stable after a rom upgrade but this device is so unstable hence why all the bad press about it!
oh....but it is better than other country (taiwan) <<<< no other informations about release new rom....too bad about x01ht\cht9000 user
I believe HTC does their VAR work first then works on their own devices. Since direct branding is new to them, this may well be presenting difficulties from a prioritization standpoint.
What this means is that we'll see the slew of operator branded AKU3.x ROMs released before the TyTN in much the same way as we did for AKU2.x ROMs. Remember, the TyTN AKU 2.x rom (South African) pretty much was one of the last of the batch for AKU2.x.
I too am very disappointed with HTC and my Hermes in general. I'll be looking elsewhere next upgrade.
K :-(
Are HTC developing any more 'official' ROMS for the HD, or is this device now no longer 'current' and therefore not going to recieve ROM updates?
Im happy to use cooked ROMS and really like some of the custom ROMS out there but was hoping that HTC was going to keep supporting this device a little longer than they currently have,

I think they're phasing out on Touch HD soon so I highly doubt that they will release new updates for this rom. I know how you feel. One year is not really that long ago, but in the mobile world, it is. A year old model like Touch HD is obsolete in the mobile world.
Besides, I read somewhere that HTC will not be doing so, so I guess that's it. lol
There will be probably more roms available from HTC
There has been 1.48 few days ago with 1.49 already out and Ithink this will be going on until Version 1.60.xxx
The question might only be, how many Roms will there be between...
Why I think so?
That's simple .... because look at the TExt coming with the Camera Update
Update for HTC HD2 – Digital Picture Enhancement
Release Date: 2009-12-10
This update for HTC HD2 delivers clear digital picture quality like never before. Living up to the name of “HD” this phone and its twin LED flash will take beautiful pictures for you to cherish your memories. Displayed in brilliant vibrant colors on its 4.3 inch screen, HTC HD2 camera will delight you.
Installationsanweisungen:
Note: This update is only applicable to ROM version is equal to 1.60.XXX.X, or lower.
What do you think?
!.6 ROM............
Yeah I reckon they'll some more updates along the way.
Cool observation, but rom naming conventions mean nothing.
It's probably just overhead in case the patch won't get incorporated into roms prior to arbitrary 1.60.
This is all over the forums... 1.60 is in testing....
1.60, huh? still wm6.5?
I Think 1.6 roms are with WM 6.5.3
the 1.6 rom is the same windows version as 1.48... not a lot has changed, yet... this could always change if/ when the official rom is out
Hello!
I send to HTC a mail with a question will and when will be a new ROM upgrade to a new WM6.5.3. for HD2.
Here is HTC answer:
"Dear QQQ,
Thank you for contacting us,
Kindly note that your device was manufactured for the Czech Republic. So regarding any updates or hotfixes for your phone it’ll be through the Czech Republic page. However, the compatible Rom Upgrade for your phone is not yet released on that page. But it should be released soon. Kindly check on our website from time to time regarding new releases for new softwares."
So does it mean it will be or it will be only a new ROM with "old" WM6.5?
What do you think?
The answer is not really and the guy from HTC who answered doesn't seem to know what you were talking about when you mentionned WM6.5.3...
I don't think we should wait for a 6.5.3 upgrade, 'cause even if it's a minor upgrade, it's the same situation than for the HD which was released with WM6.1 and never upgraded officially with WM6.5 :/

Which is why I cant wait for WP7S at least then we'll get OTA updates straight away instead of having to wait for htc or phone operators to offer up a updated ROM
It would be very sad if they dont make compatabile 6.5.3 ROM for HD2. It's silly if they just stop in inventing in HD2

Well lucky for us, we have XDA.
wow he was really talking out his a$$ it would of been announce one way or another through some blog. now and days its hard for some one to keep things in the low especially HTC now that their getting to be bigger and bigger by the minute. i would see that coming from palm or danger (sidekick) nobody even cares about them any more so if they release some update nobody would really care other than device owners. sorry for getting out of the topic a bit but 6.5.3 would see the light by the end of the end of year microsoft putting all their brains on windows 7. hd2 for t-mobile might be the last windows 6.5 of the year in a american carrier
I ask this question to HTC: "Is the HTC HD2 going to get a windows mobile 6.5.3 ROM upgrade?"
And this is their answer: "Dear Eric Lui, Thank you for choosing HTC! Regarding to ROM update issue, we are sorry to inform you that currently we do not have the information of the WM6.5.3 ROM upgrade for HTC HD2. If any update in future, HTC will release the news on the website once any update, Please pay attention to our Official website for the update. In addition, we had recorded your information, and we will inform you in advance once any update related with HTC HD2. Thanks a lot for your understanding and cooperation."
Hope this can help.
HTC releases too many devices and they actually don't care of upgrades for current devices. Even if it's hi-end device like HD2. They will rather release HD3 than make official WM6.5.3 ROM for HD2. You have to pay for anything
I'm using Samsung Omnia II. I like this phone and i like Samsung attitude to their products. It came originally with WM6.1. Then it got upgrade to WM6.5. Now it get another upgrade to WM6.5.3. Same phone - 2 major upgrades.
Yes, it's possible to make your own WM6.5.3 ROM, but alas you can not tweak all OEM applications to be compatible with 6.5.3. That's why official upgrade is the key point.
Without official upgrade to 6.5.3 from HTC, user won't get normal HTC dialer/callerID. They will stick either to 235xx builds or add workaround to fix incompatibility. I even don't mention about minor graphics issues after migrating from 6.5 to 6.5.3.

The HTC Tattoo android phone is a remarkable product.
It is a very nice piece of hardware that packs in a very small form almost any feature of bigger-size, and higher-cost, models.
GPS, bluetooth, FM radio, acceleration sensors, camera, WiFi.
But the hardware is not so much relevant when the software does not use it properly.
The HTC Tattoo has been marketed with Android OS 1.6. The bluetooth profile does not provide support for file sharing and contact sharing. The WiFi does not provide support for various type of WPA2 enterprise network (e.g. Eduroam). Many Android market application require a 2.x version of Android, and for this reason Tattoo users will find less and less applications on the market as time passes.
All this issues, and many more it is easy to find on the dedicated forums, can be fixed by upgrading the HTC Tattoo to latest Android.
Some non-official upgrades have been developed by passionate modders and developers of custom ROMs. The 2.1 and 2.2 custom ROMs (see, e.g., http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=698576 ) are clear evidence the HTC Tattoo is able to work with a 2.x Android OS, providing a smooth and nice user experience (the only relatively relevant issues remaining to be fixed are getting the camera and radio to work).
Therefore we firmly ask to HTC to provide HTC Tattoo users with an official upgrade to a 2.2.1 version of the Android OS.
This would enable Tattoo owners to enjoy their product at best, finally removing the feel of being the only HTC customers abandoned by HTC and excluded from getting the Android update they deserve.

We must do more pressure to HTC
"That petition is closed and is not accepting signatures."
You are wasting your time
The only thing i like in a release from HTC is the camera. The rest is junk, our developers are way better.
HTC have to update our Tattoo ! It's the less that they can do !
I agree.. they have forgotten our tattoo but it's normal what they do. It's a way for us to buy a new phone, with a more recent ROM
I think tattoo includes all the good features, except hardware keyboard. Hardware buttons to receive/drop call are great for me with my huge experience with non-touch phones. Joystick is also VERY handy (far more then optical trackball in Wildfire). In addition to this I like resistive sensor for compatibility with stylus, pencil etc.
