do you use a screenprotector?

Do you use a screenprotector on your trinity? I do, one from Brando, but I don't like it and am thinking about removing it...
Is anyones screen already damaged?

Is it possible to put it perfectly at all ?! I mean I must be in a totaly sterile envoirement with gloves and special suit and God knows how and what skill I must have to put it right
My Trinity is one day old but I will surely remove it in a couple of days, can't look at it with this ugly bubbles beneath

The first thing I do when I get any new device is get a screen protector for it, and it goes on before I ever start using the device. I've gone through a lot of PDA's over time and one thing I can say is that you get better at putting on the protectors and you get used to the odd bubble or piece of dust underneath. It's far better than what happens to your screen without a screen protector over time.
The best way to put the protector on is to carefully peel just a bit of one edge and line it up at the top of the screen. Then use the included card to slide the rest down the screen, the paper backing will peel off as you do this and it helps to prevent bubbles and dust getting on the stick side of the film.

If you don't like bubbles, try a brand that is not adhesive. Most people don't like the type that slips under the case but I do. I've been using NuShield protectors for a couple of years on 4 different PDAs and they are great IMO. I don't use a case (store in pocket) and NuShields are very durable - easily lasting 6 mo.

I'm using a brando ultraclear for K-Jam in my p3600... it works perfect... I haven't any sort of bubbles because i put it the first day i got my new device.. so device under it was very clean and the result is PERFECT

Completely agree!

I'm using Covertec Screenprotector(for S100), and it works like hell!
The screenprotector is about 1-1,5 mm thick, so it's pretty thick compared to many other brands, but the advantage is that it's almost impossible to get airbubbles, and the screenprotector is 110% clear! So you won't even see it's there!
Comes in a pack with two protectors, one with UV-filter, and one which is ultra-clear...
Can highly recomend them... No need for a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy"

1.5mm thick?!?!?! That's thicker than a "anti-bubble-wiper-thingy". I have wetsuites that thick. You talking about a case or a screen protector?

I use protector, but got 2 bubbles which I want to try to remove.
Can anyone tell me how to remove the protector without using anything thin and sharp?

Hate screen protectors. Don't use them. My nephew has a Jam which is years old and hasn't had a protector. NO screen scratches -- only a little dullness where the SIP keyboard is but that buffs out in seconds once a year using Displex. No scratches from keys even though it's subject to some abuse and the casing is scratched and dented. Thus I myself have no crap on my P3600's screen.

Im not a fan of cases or screen protectors, but I got 1 for my p3600. Its pretty good, I just wish it was about 2mm wider, since the left edge doesnt quite go till the very end of the screen which is annoying.

I got my screen protector from 'Javoedge.com' , it cost me about £8.50 but it is worth every penny.
It is cut to the exact size of the Trinity screen and fits really well. It is so thin that it slides beneath the White plastic case of my Trinity and the screen itself, so there are no edges of the screen protector to be seen.
I agree that you must take your time when installing it to try and get the edges straight, but when it's on it fits and looks great.
I opted for the super clear version and not the anti-glare version.

I'm using an "Invisible Shield" from ShieldZone.com for my P3600. At the time I got mine, it didn't exist any pre-cut version for the P3600, so I ended up with a pre-cut TyTN shield, since they have the same screen size.
The first 2-3 days the result wasn't that good as I had some bubbles under the shield, but they disappeared after some days.
Watch the demo videos on ShieldZone.com, and I guess you will be as impressed as I'm with this shield.

I have a Brando one that they now market as a P3600 version.
It sticks to the screen with static so no glue or residue if you remove it. Also this means it is washable too. The static provides more than enough force to keep it on the screen. In fact it is stuck fast. Only by pulling a piece of tape stuck to it by both ends will remove it.
My only problem is more with screenprotectors in general. Since they add extra thickness to the screen they do affect the sensitivity of the touchscreen. So for a while you will write with the stylus and you wont be using enough force. You get used to it, but it would still be nicer to find a thinner membrane.

Mine is a Clear Touch Crystal from Boxwave. I've used Boxwave's products for years and found them to have very high durability and quality. The screen looks like it has nothing on it at all when the device is on. I find that it actually seems to improve touchscreen accuracy and feel.
The only problem I have had with screen protectors in general is that if they are cut too close to the borders of the screen, that is, if they fit too well, they seem to interfere with the screen's ability to detect taps. I think it is interfering with the digitizer. Every time I have installed a protector PERFECTLY leaving no gaps on any side, the screen stops responding until I remove the protector and reinstall it with the edges trimmed in about 1 mm on all sides. I don't think that you need to have all edges trimmed, but I do it for uniformity's sake.
Hope this helps someone who gets a protector and then thinks they broke their device by installing it like I did my first time.......ahhh to be young again.....

I just checked out ebay and other sources and discovered that a lot of new products for protecting your babies screen hit the market since Brando's Ultra Clear for my Kaiser
I found liquid products, silicone coatings, lotus effect stuff, several new brands, solutions for just the screen or the whole Touch Pro...
Are u using the shipped screen protector or anything else?

Brando, as with any other device.

i'm just using the screen protector that came with the phone...don't really see a reason to use another kind

When it wears out, get a Brando or Martin Fields. You will notice a difference.

Exim screen protector... le deluxe! I've been using this brand forever. I don't feel like putting a $5 protector on a once $1050 but now $850 phone.

Take UltraClear, they're better for Touch Pro.

Wich one doesn't smudge as much as the regular one delivered with the device? Or is it just me having greasy fingers?

I have UltraClear and the smudges are all over the screen, I think I'll have to get used to it.

I only use Boxwave. They're the best.

I've ordered a Brando one, I've yet to set it.

Not really. We're not dealing with statistics here. Have plastic and adhesive technology changed so much in 5 years?
I've read reviews on the Brando and I've personally used Boxwave.
I'm sure I could find other reviews with different search terms, but it would do little good since you already ordered.
Anyway, no intarweb review is going to tip your mind. Better to just order them and try them out.

I have not received my Touch Pro yet, but I bought a box wave....I've used all except for Brando and I can say for me Box Wave have performed the best so far.

I'm using the Brando Ultra clear.
+It's extremely easy to apply without air pockets underneath.
-It's very fragile and withing a week I have 2 scratches in the screen protector
The screen protector you get with the Touch Pro is a lot less fragile but very crappy when it comes to applying it.

just ordered a box wave so I will report back and let you guys know how I like it. I got the crystal not the anti glare.

Using Exim SPUC Screen Protector since a few days and like it, quality is good, there's even a part to protect the bottom buttons

Just got the antiglare from Brando and applied it. I don't know but it doesnt seem easy for me to apply it properly.
I'll rest now and if I can, share photo of how it looks tomorrow.

Just installed a Boxwave anti-glare protector. The jury is still out for me on the portion that covers the keypad below the screen as it does interfere somewhat with the smoothness of the d-pad and center butten, but I do like the screen protector itself. It is definitely not fingerprint proof like advertised, but I do notice a reduction in glare as well as, more importantly, a good increase in touch sensitivity over the stock unit that came with the device.
I also ordered a crystal version that I have not yet installed.

Scratched Screen!

Somehow i have managed to get a scratch of prob 8mm tall x 1mm wide x 1mm
deep. is the front protected by something or is that the screen?
its hasnt gone all the way through what ever it is. but i can tell its scratched due to
the light when moving the phone about.
Anyway to fix this ie a new front?
screen works as normal.

I doubt it. It's hardened glass. It must have been something heavy or very sharp. The only fix i know of is a new glass cover or may be a very good screen protector

My N1 got a bunch of hairline scratches from my the old ladies earring, I put a name brand name screen protector on it and they're not visible anymore. So that is an option for you if it really bothers you that much, my N1's scratches drove me nuts because they were right at the top.

I have a scratch on my screen too...It was bothering me at first, but quickly forgot about it.

I agree and would try a screen protector. I found a Fellowes generic protector was best at hiding a big scratch on an old iPAQ I have. The screen on that is quite different but I don't see why it wouldn't work on the HD2.

I, too, have a nice scratch in the screen. Can't remember what happened, or what would have caused it. When I realized it was there I immediately shopped for screen protectors, and used member reccomendations from XDA forums. I purchased a recommended protector based on those recommendations and some further research elsewhere online. My results? DO NOT purchase the HD2 product from Gadget Shieldz dot com. It will somehow magnify the resolution refresh and create a rainbow pattern on the nice, hi-rez screen. Aarrgh! Does someone have a better product suggestion??

I'm pretty keen on Skinomi protectors, they have a Lifetime Warranty.

The only thing is that the HD2 protector doesn't protect the bottom part below the buttons. Wasn't an issue for me but if you want all over protection go with BestSkinsEver.

Thanks for the suggestion, IC. Both products look the same as others, but if the pattern isn't there (and sensitivity isn't compromised) I will be a happy camper. I'll update on this forum with the results!

anyone tried the ZAGG Invisible Shield? It looks nice on the ads but i'd like to listen from a owner...

I have used the Zagg shield for about 3 months then happily removed it from my HD2, After a while the protector started to get an 'orange peel' effect to it and as a whole it was very reflective. I also didnt like the tactile feel to it, it felt quite rubbery and so when draging your finger across the screen sometimes it would feel choppy in a sense.
I am now using the wrapsol HD2 protector (am currently writing a full review for it so check back soon) but just quickly i love it and alreayd am more than happy with it i dont even know it is on the phone it feels like glass to the touch.

ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD + X10 + review

I got my hands on ZAGG's invisibleSHIELD for X10, it's on the way thru delivery.
I saw their videos, and it's seem hype.
Anyone have personal experience with this product?
Also, right now, I have a rubber-not-so-tight-fit casing for the X10, but I want to get one that has tight-fit, real tight fit rubber casing to put on after the invisible shield? Recommendations?
Something in the lines that matches with iSkin, that the have for the "not so hype" iPhone...

If you go up a level to the Sony Xperia X10 menu page and have a look in the accessories subsection there is a lot of info on cases and screen protectors etc which might be helpful to you.

I bought Zagg's full body invisible shield before for my SE Satio. They were difficult to apply. Also, the screen responsivenss was better on the stock screen protector. You dont really need to replace it if yours came with one. The Zagg screen protector feels sticky to the touch. Not so good on a capacitive screen

Zagg's invisibleshield is horrible. My buddy got one for his x10, and I applied it. Every piece was not cut precise except the back cover. The front screen protector wasn't even cut straight. The left and right borders were tapered in the middle leaving about 2mm of space, on each side, between the border and the screen protector.
From my own experience with the product on my x1, the full body shield turns yellow and traps tons of dirt at the edges. It just looks cheap over time.

Backcover? People actually _like_ having slippery backs? Imo the stock coating is optimal since it's very grippable, it's rugged and it doesn't gather any fingerprints.

Well, I was just stating a fact that it does come with a back shield, and it's the best cut piece of the set. While I do like the bare back feel of the x10, the option is there for people to use it or not use it.

I got myself a Martin Fields screen protector. Applied it today. So far really loving it. Will review it soon.
InvisibleSHIELD is also supposed to be real good, but a pain to apply correctly.

I had the same experience with my Zagg sheild. Tappered sides and what not. Anyway I am not a fan. What I would like to know is if there is similiar screen shields to the ones for the iphone?? They have almost the texture of a sheet of paper, never streak and seem to provide excellent responsiveness. Im not sure of the different types of protectors but if someone knows of one like this let me know!
Also the Zagg shield on the back of the X10 is actually pretty sweet......its not slippery. In fact its the exact opposite. You can set the thing down on the dash of the car while charging and it will not slide around at all. But hey, if thats worth $20 then have at it.

I have the invisibleSHIELD for my X10 and it's not to shab... but not too good...
As with one of the posts above, the front screen protector was not cut to fit properly; there is a gap on my screen about 1/4" on the right side, however the left side is flush. I emailed Zagg about it and they have sent me a new one and apologized that the case was damaged during shipping (although it was very clearly NOT damaged during shipping, it was just cut that way).
The rest of the case fits snug, but it does get dirty/sticky on the edges. I will be getting another case to put over it; likely the FlexiShield.
I personally like the feel of the screen protector more than the stock protector. I have both of them on right now and have no issues with the touchscreen whatsoever. The Zagg shield never fingerprints, but it would with the stock protector.
Overall, I would give the invisibleSHIELD a 7 out of 10. If I was rating the screen protector alone I would give it 8 out of 10 (points dinged for the improper fit, hopefully the replacement sits flush).
If you are like me and want a mint looking phone you might get a little frustrated by the scummy edges, however the material is strong and you will definitely not scratch anything. I recommend doing away with the full body case and just getting the screen cover in combination with another case!

Update: Received the replacement but the screen protector is even more tapered on the edges than my original. I've scrapped the shield and went with a plastic fitted case. Too bad, I really like the quality of the material. I'm going to try and get a refund.

Wow! Judging by the reviews, I am not glad that I went for MF instead of ZAGG.

I got protech which is essentially the same thing and I have to say its pretty good. I've used invisible sheiks in the past on a g1 and found it was easier to apply to the x10. You have to be really patient though if you leave the smallest air bubble on the edge as previously mentioned dirt and dust gets trapped underneath and starts to peel.

I have full body Zagg ... it sux.
The size of the front part is not right so i have about 2mm on edges which are not covered.
The top, bottom and side parts are already gone.
The back part is still there ... for now.
I have a gadget shieldz full body.
I'll try it in about 2 weeks when the zagg will be gone.
Zagg lasted about 3 months.

I have the Martin Fields one bought from Mobile Fun. It is the biggest fingerprint magnet in the history of phones. I bought the double pack thinking I'd have a spare as back up. The actual screen applies beautifully but it has lifted in the top right hand corner near the proximity sensor. I managed to reapply it without taking it off totally but its still not perfect.
I want the same shield we bought for hubby's Iphone. Its a matt anti reflective one and shows no finger marks. I spend my life cleaning smudgy prints off mine.

To clear out what others said and my experience with zagg shield,
It all comes to how accurate are you when attaching it.
But if you want some advice, just put the back part only. The stock screen protector is much better, the side parts are too hard to put on.

I agree, the Zagg screen protector makes the screen slightly sticky or something. Makes it hard to drag things across the screen like when moving cards in Solitaire etc. I'm on the lookout for a good screen protector now, wish i never removed the stock one!
I actually like the feel and look of the back protector and yes, the side and bottom protectors are a bit too finicky and strechy for clumsy people like me to put on properly!

Painfull Installation - Happy Though!

So, I finally had time over the weekend to apply the invisibleShield to my X10, the full-body, "maximum protection" version.
Just let me tell you:
(1) Painfull process - took nearly 2 hours from start to finish, minus break / re-doing time because i wasn't completely satisfied.
(2) Not enough solution - the spray bottle they gave is enough for 1 time installation only! No room for mistakes. Found out the solution was Johnson's brand baby shampoo & distilled water (I didn't have any distilled water, instead, used a new bottle water from Nestle brand) ... worked like a charm
(3) sizing - oh man! the sizing of the invisible shield is not perfect, except for the back piece ... front has gaps, 1/2mm or less on either side.
(4) Applying ... it took me about 3 times to get it right, fitted accordingly. That's how I ran out of the solutions.
(5) Squeeze is not good on small pieces, better to use a q-tip to slide thru the solutions off.
Overrall, it's a different feeling. Getting used to it.
Only thing I would ask ZAGG to do is: PROVIDE A BOTTLE WATER size of solution!!!! & correct sizing of the pieces.
- Just 1 or 2 mini bubbles seen just by me, otherwise, it's a charm!
Still, I got my hands on a iPhone 4 32GB as well, kit for that is coming soon. Should be easier ...
I wish they had Otter Box style casing for X10.

Clarity is ok.
Fingerprints ... way better than the original but still not good enough ...
Just don't drop sun protection lotion on your phone
You will need another invisible shield ...

Fingerprint is not there, or atleast, very much of it is reduced. I am a clean freak, so, I clean it everyday before putting it to charge for the night.
Senstivity was something to get used to, little bit off in the beginning, but after the curing process of the invisibleshield, it works like a charm.
Anyways, I contacted ZAGG, they are sending me another full kit for the X10, since I complained about the sizing & not enough solutions ...
I have to wait for approx 1.5 weeks to receive, remove the old/existing one, and do it correct the 2nd time around.
Of course, i need to send back the one I have right now when I receive the other one...
I'll post a message on how my 2nd attempt went, (with extra bottle of solution, yeah! that's right! I demanded to the agent on the email for 2nd bottle of solution)...either way, baby shampoo & distilled water is good enough too.
Screen Clarity - 100% or 99.99% , unless you angle the phone differently in the light or reflection , you dont see it.

I had the full body but took it off.
I bought the white X10 in dubai, like everyone else said fitted poorly and bleeds the colours from your case, I had to take it off as everyone was saying how battered the phone looked after a month.
It is pretty bullet-proof though, sure it must look better on the black phone!

Skinomi Screen Protector and Dock?

I just got my dock and I noticed that there is very little space between the dock "slots" and the screen. If I install a screen protector (I already ordered one from Skinomi) do you think it will be too thick to use the dock? I am afraid the dock slots will push against the screen protector and smudge it or worse rip it.

I have the screen protector and the back skin.
Trust me, they will fit. It really isn't thick at all.
But, do be careful when you are installing them on the device. Use a lot of that water spray they give you. I think I saw a suggestion to dip the screen in a bath of water first. I used too little and had to redo it because the bubbles stayed. Now, the outer edge from where I re-peeled the protected doesn't stick to the device. It isn't too big to annoy me but it definitely doesn't look nice.
Because the screen is bigger on a tablet than on a phone, the application is just more frustrating to put on.
Oh, and just note that your screen will look like crap. It'll take a day or two to kick in.

I have one installed on my transformer. A few things about it.
1.) It does fit, makes sure to get the up part up. Look for the two holes for the camera. I screwed mine up and placed it on wrong, still works.
2.) The screen protector works very well with the dock, with out ripping or tearing. If you hold the tablet, you will see the edge of the screen is thinner then the area where the dock fully ends. This creates a impression in the screen protector where it is too snug. I have not notice any problems with it fitting in the dock, but it is snug enough to leave an impression.
3.) The quality of the shield is not up the same as bodyguardz or invisible shield. It has a tendency to dent and cut up pretty easy. Not insanely, but there is a difference between it and my phone, bodyguardz.
4.) The protector is very shiny and smooth. Which means you don't get the orange peel effect of the other protectors, but does not help viewing in sunlight.
5.) You need to makes sure you use ALL of the solution provided. It takes a lot more water and baby shampoo then the other protectors. Probably bigger screen and bigger protector, but I swear the sticky side is more sticky then the other protectors.
All and all I like the protector a lot. Even though it has a tendency to dent an damage easier then I would expect, I also will not abuse my tablet as much as my phone. I would buy it again, for the lifetime free replacements and price.
But in saying that for the same price and if they made them, bodyguardz and invisible shield are better, ie more durable, protectors.
I would give it an easy 8 out 10 points.

5.) You need to makes sure you use ALL of the solution provided. It takes a lot more water and baby shampoo then the other protectors. Probably bigger screen and bigger protector, but I swear the sticky side is more sticky then the other protectors.
All and all I like the protector a lot. Even though it has a tendency to dent an damage easier then I would expect, I also will not abuse my tablet as much as my phone. I would buy it again, for the lifetime free replacements and price.
But in saying that for the same price and if they made them, bodyguardz and invisible shield are better, ie more durable, protectors.

Well, the lifetime warrenty is a bit dubious since you have to return the old protector to prove that it was damaged through use and not through poor application. I think you also have to pay to shipping. It seems that it'll cost the same a buying a new protector. Plus if your screen did mess up, I'm not sure why I would want a replacement of the same item.
It's not as good as my phone's protector (forgot the company) but it's still decent. I definitely feel more at ease with the protector on.

I don't see how tearing through use (docking) wouldn't be covered.

actually, not true. i got some kind of film on my screen protector the first time i tried to install it. i took a picture of the protector and they sent me a new one in 3 days.
the funny thing is, my original order included BOTH a screen protector AND a carbon fiber skin. when i got my replacement in the mail there was a protector AND another skin! I think it was an oversight on their behalf. they just looked at my original order and replicated it.
so for the price of 1 screen protector and 1 skin i got 2 screen protectors (1 that i admittedly messed up) and 2 skins.
i should consider myself lucky (and skinomi a quality company).

Did you still need to ship them back your old protector?
I guess they're more friendly in reality than their rules online. At any rate, I don't think I want to go through the hassle of reapplying it again anyway. (plus waiting for it to clear)

nope, i threw it away.
oh and another thing, all of our contact was via email. didn't even have to talk to a 'live' person.

I just received my Skinomi screen protector & didn't realized the installation was that involved. I guess I am just used to the screen protectors I have used with my PDA's & phones that just stuck to the screen on their own. Anyway I don't want to screw this up.
What is the purpose of the solution?
Is it an adhesive?
Does it aid in the installation in being to move the screen protect around to adjust its placement?
