Just wondered if you have enabled the little box on Mac Pro (Airport software) or on HD to show "Hidden Networks"?
What "little box" are you referring to? I probably havent done that!
And for sure I havent enabled on the HD to show hidden networks!!
Thanks, I'll try this afternoon hope it helps!

Hi,
I have encountered a problem. My phone when in router mode is not detected by other devices (tried two laptops and another phone with WiFi). I can use my HD2 to connect to wireless networks, but not to share mobile data via WiFi.
Any suggestions on how to solve the problem?
Thanks
(ROM 1.48 as there is no official update for my region)
This may not help, but I had a similar issue of devices not seeing my wifi router as the network name I chose had a space in it, removing the space by adding an underscore instead allowed devices to then see the network.

It works for me, THANKS !
WOW - it did work for me too! Huge THANKS
Wonder why HTC set defaul network name with a space if it can cause such problems...
you should change the title to [SOLVED] if that is possible. I bet there are some more people who have probs using that feature.
help

The HD2 only uses ADHOC connection when being used ad a WiFi router and if your Desire HD does not except ADHOC connections then you will not be abale to use the WiFi from your HD2. I do not know if the Desire HD will except a ADHOC connection or not, I will let you do the research on that. But I doubt that it does as ADHOC connections are primarily a computer to computer type connection.
I used the tweak program, and now for some reason the Wifi option in Settings > Wireless Connections is grayed out, i can't access it. how do i fix this
EDIT: NEVER MIND IT WAS PLUGGED INTO THE COMPUTER!
THOUGH! I HAVE ANOTHER QUESTION!
There's an option called Wifi N that gives 802.11n capabilities.. does it work on the mini?
My HTC HD mini doesn't support 802.11n.

Sad, but True :/
the wifi n work on hd mini
^ Really? I enabled it.. but I don't see any changes
TO the other two, try out installing Bsb Tweaks and enabling Wifi N capability
Yes I confirm that 802.11n seems to work fine, I enabled it using BsB Tweaks and now my D-Link DIR-655 shows the connection as type n.
Hi all,
I'm tring to connect my galaxy tab to internet through wifi tether on milestone and the tab can't see the milestone wifi network.
I know for sure that milestone's wifi tether works fine because I can use it with my laptop.
Anyone has the same issue?
How can I solve?
hi
i used the wifi hotspot of my desire and it worked great.
what i miss is the capability to find and connect to Ad Hoc's
(they just dont appear in the networks list on my tab)
maybe the milestone is creating a ad hoc.
Yes it is..
How can i make a different network type and fix it?

Same here bro... ill look into it.
Yeah. Am having the exact same issue as well.
wifi problem (can't see tether)
Hi guyz,
Just opened my brand new Galaxy tab , I'm having the same issue: he doesn't see any tether network (from my windows mobile 6.1 htc p3650) neither any "ad hoc" network created from my laptop pc sony vaio.
On the xds forum I found this solution http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=7711198&postcount=6
(originally created by "daveba")
and here there is a video with the procedure http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k5o5WlyA7WI&feature=player_embedded
Hope you (and me) will solve with this trick,
please report me any problems /other ways to fix
Thank you, good work
faredino
(more: I'm not sure that the galaxy tab can connect to other wi-fi network since I just unwrapped it and there are no other wifi net nearby!...hope it's not a problem of MINE TAB only!!! :O )

Hi,
I've a Wildfire and a Touch2. I want to share Touch2's internet with Wildfire using WiFiInternetSharing application in Touch2. The problem is that wildfire does not detect the wifi network. I've tested the Touch2 with Iphone as well as my laptop. Both detects Touch2 as wifi router and works successfully but wildfire doesn't even detect it. I've tested wildfire with my office wifi router and it works fine but not with my touch2. Any suggestions please.

Is it due to the touch 2 creating an adhoc network and the wildfire not supporting ad hoc networks. If so you will need a custom rom

I think cm6 supports it but dont quote me on that
Even my HTC wildfire is also having same problem. Can any one suggest a list of appplications which can resolve the above problem.
Ok I run XDA WiFI sharing on my smart phone.
I use this to access the internet on all of the computers in my house.
Living in the middle of nowhere I have few options.
My new nook color says that the XDA is not in range..... Even though my phone is sitting right here next to me and next to my laptop that has no problem picking up the signal. (using my laptop now typing this!)
How do I fix this?

WiFi settings... forget the network and let it find it again.
If that doesn't work try forgetting all remembered networks and then rebooting.

I'm afraid you have a smart phone that only sets up an "ad hoc" network. You need to have an "infrastructure" network for the Nook Color to see it and connect. I have the same problem with my HTC Hero phone--the wireless tethering works great with my laptops, but my Nook cannot see it.
There have been a few postings about this issue and there was a fix for earlier Nook software versions, but not the current version.

Any idea if the Nook with CM7 (B199) can do an ad-hoc network? I have a Garmin Nuvi-295W (wifi only, no BT). I may have to look at a micro AP for my car so these devices can talk.
