Where is my GPRS Connection?? Disappeared...

Hello all
You all know that once we set our GPRS connection in our PPC's then it appears when we press the G button on the top of our Pocket PC's. If we want to turn it on manually we press the underlined link with its name and it connects OK? ok.
I have made the same settings in my qtek 9000, I have a valid GPRS Connection in my Internet Connection Settings that works. Even Pocket IE uses it to connect to the Internet.
But when I am in my Today Screen and just want to set it on, I press the G button and my connection is not there. So I cannot manually turn it on, unless I go to Connection - Settings and Choose Connect etc...
All I want is a way to make my GPRS Conenction appear when I press the G button Is there a registry way around it? Thank you all...
P.S. I know about the permanent GPRS on hack, but it wont do me any good. I have a limit of 40MB a month so I want to choose when to use it.

Switching off GPRS

Hi is there anyway of switching GPRS Off wuithout turning the phone off?
I want to be ablt to use wireless at home however it constantly switches to GPRS - driving me mad. I have a 1gb allowance on my GPRS but i use that for my pushmail for office mails.
I would like to be able to surf at home usig WIFI, when doing this is there a setting (not connection manager) that can turn GPRS off when i am using WIFI?
If you set your WiFi connection as connected to the Internet instead of Work, and in the network adapters setting (settings, connections, network cards, network adapters tab) set that your network card connects to the internet, once you establish an internet connection with WiFi, it should kick your GPRS connection off. On my phone GPRS still tries to connect once in a while for some reason, but never does, since the WiFi internet connection just keeps kicking it off.

rassah's method is more professional than mine and better perhaps. I'm lazy so I just go to connections button below on/off button and then tap off the GPRS via button that looks like a PDA with two arrows. If GPRS tries to reconnect there should be a popup if you have wifi on that allows you to cancel it's reconnection. This does not disable the phone.

thanks - i will try this - do you know if this will affect the dirct push mail?
Just thought this may help, found it on Modaco.. Works a treat, just toggles gprs data on and off... Very easy and works
Not sure how OK it is to post links to other forums but as it is free software I guess I should be OK...

superb application - especially usefull when roaming
Just what I needed, going overseas next month, I don't want to use any data while there.

GPRS acceptance before connecting?

SInce GPRS cost 15sek per mb here it is quite costly to accidently turn on the function. Is there any way to for software to ask for permission instead of activate the gprs automatically? Or that the gprs connection must be activace manualy before a connection can be established by the software?

This part can be easily solved: Go to the Advanced tab in Connections, and in the first list select 'my work network'.
So I have to change it to back GPRS each time I want to use it?
i do so, prankie, even if it is a bit annoying...

Hi You need this program MoDaCo_NoData.CAB it`s turn on or turn off the connection GPRS.
I found this on Modaco.com

I agree, MoDaCo_NoData.CAB is the best tool at the moment to switch the data connection on/off,

I have an issue reguaring GPRS

I'm using activeSync, and everything work perfekt...
as long as I've WLAN on, it uses it... but when I loose the WLAN connection (eg, I go away from home), activeSync uses my GPRS connection to sync my mail.
here lays the problem... after it have synced... it doesn't close down the GPRS connection... its allways stays "connected"... how come? or am I missing some options?
is there any way to shut down the connection manully? I would prefer to the connection do close automaticly after it has synced...:
Strange
There is no reason GPRS should stay connected after it finishes, it might take a little while to disconnect but it should disconnect all the same.
There are some registry tweaks to make sure but you will have to get a program like Advanced Configurtion to help.
Hopefully someone that uses cell data connections can be more help.

and that's it

[Q] Prevent data connection disconnect on standby

Hello!
is there any way to prevent data connection disconnect, when I press the off button?
This is very annoying, when connection has to be reestablished every time, when I use it.
Modaco nodata. It prevents the connection through GPRS and you can choose when to enable or disable it.
I don't want to disable gprs connection. I want it to _stay connected_ when I put my device on standby. Unfortunately everytime I do it, gprs connection is dropped.
Maybe it's just ROM/Radio issue (I've branded device - Plus Poland) or all HTC Touch2 have this problem? Can sameone confirm that?
