[Q] Prevent data connection disconnect on standby - Touch2 General

Hello!
is there any way to prevent data connection disconnect, when I press the off button?
This is very annoying, when connection has to be reestablished every time, when I use it.

Modaco nodata. It prevents the connection through GPRS and you can choose when to enable or disable it.

I don't want to disable gprs connection. I want it to _stay connected_ when I put my device on standby. Unfortunately everytime I do it, gprs connection is dropped.

Maybe it's just ROM/Radio issue (I've branded device - Plus Poland) or all HTC Touch2 have this problem? Can sameone confirm that?

how do i stop this from happening? i'm thinking i should just remove my gprs settings so it can't connect but then i can't use MMS. it happens when i'm using messenger. i'll turn wifi off and then it will say connecting to gprs.. i click cancel but it doesn't register some times and goezs ahead and connects. any suggestions?
Same problem here ... I want my Qtek 9100 to always use my WLAN network if available. If not available it can use EDGE/GPRS.
Seems like the device turns of WLAN in standby mode and use GPRS in such cases.

wifi/gprs switching?

I don't have the Vox yet (I'm an idiot for ordering it right before a freaking holiday) so I'm not sure if this already happens or not but...
Say for instance I'm connected to the internet/aim/whatever through wifi. However, I end up moving too far away from the hotspot and end up dropping the signal. When this happens, is there a way to make the GPRS automatically come in and replace the connection? Is that within the settings of WM6 or is there an app that does this? Can it even be done if it hasn't already?
it happens automatically to me
if the wifi connection is so slow or weak it starts to connect to gprs which actually annoys me
MMM
When I configure automatic connection trough GPRS, the phone connects via GPRS, even if a Wi-Fi connection is present. Ther should be a way to prevent usage of GPRS when connected trough wi-fi. Anyone knows how to do it?

GPRS acceptance before connecting?

SInce GPRS cost 15sek per mb here it is quite costly to accidently turn on the function. Is there any way to for software to ask for permission instead of activate the gprs automatically? Or that the gprs connection must be activace manualy before a connection can be established by the software?

Click to collapse
This part can be easily solved: Go to the Advanced tab in Connections, and in the first list select 'my work network'.
So I have to change it to back GPRS each time I want to use it?
i do so, prankie, even if it is a bit annoying...
GPRS
Hi You need this program MoDaCo_NoData.CAB it`s turn on or turn off the connection GPRS.
I found this on Modaco.com
http://www.modaco.com/content/Pocket-PC-Software/246171/New-FREE-Utility/
I agree, MoDaCo_NoData.CAB is the best tool at the moment to switch the data connection on/off,

lost GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA Connection

From time to time I lose my GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA connection (when there is no permanent ip traffic) but my System (HTC X7500 with WM6) says it is connected.
With the FdcSoft TaskManager I can see that I totaly lose my IP number/Netmask (no entry).
New reconnection is not possible, only a SoftReset solves the Problem.
Possible my gsm internet provider (Austria A1) disconnect my ip-connection and my htc does not know that it is disconnected.
Is there a solution for this problem.
Is there a way to restart/reset the cellular line part of the ip-connection without soft reset?
If there gives no direct solution does someone know a way that the internet connection (over gsm) will be disconnected automatically after switch off the ppc?
Because if the connection was disconnected - connect to the internet is possible without soft rest.
