Anyone get this yet? I am curious to how it will look on my phone.
Here is link to item -

I have also attached a pic from their site.
Mine should arrive on Wednesday. If no one else gets it before that, I'll take pictures of it.

Thanks man. I am very interested to see how it actually looks on the phone. Thanks again
I got my shipment notice for this today, if no one has unboxing photos up by the time it gets here i'll do the honors
I was thinking of buying this but I would miss the diamond back =)
Here are my pictures. It says to charge it for 8 hours for the first time. Also it says performance will increase after 5-6 full charges. The back has a rubber feel to it and is a visible different black the the rest of the ATT fuze.
it looks huge. maybe it is just the pictures and I can not see it in your hand.
thanks for the pics. I will be also interested to hear about how the battery actually works.
It's actually smaller then I thought it would be. The third picture is it vs the original battery and the 4th picture is it vs my 2400 HTC Advantage battery
this is the same battery/cover combo I have seen on ebay, cept most of those dont give details on its cpacity and ect/
Can it be used on Touch Pro?
Hmm, i'm kind of bummed that the back has a big honkin SEIDIO on the back, the product images don't show that and they don't say 'this image is a representative image not the real product etc.'

Da_G you are correct and it is strange. If you look at the picture I posted in the first thread from their site it DOES NOT have the SEIDIO on it. wonder why they don't show it on the site.
I'll certainly be asking them about that the moment my product arrives
It feels like you could scratch their name off, but I am not going to try.
Corporate tattoo aside, is this battery upgrade worth it? It seems like if I'm away from my desk, and therefore away from my desktop, I use the heck out of my phone without a charger handy.
And, the other thing I was wondering... would the stock battery be usable in this case? Could a piece of foam keep things from rattling around? Or, is the stock battery only compatible with the stock case?
Got mine charging now, the box says to charge it outside the phone, but I guess they assume you have a way to do that...
One thing goatmaster didn't mention, but I can see in his photos that the left bottom side of the battery door doesnt cleanly mesh with the bottom of the phone housing. The right side doesn't have this problem and fits flush with the phone at the bottom, however there's also a small buldge on the top right side of the battery cover like it's got 1mm or so too much plastic.. all in all the battery cover doesn't impress me one bit.. there's even little bits of silver colored overspray around the SEIDIO where the template they held over it wasnt exactly flush.. I can provide HQ photos to illustrate.
Edit: Observation: TBattery still shows FULL (mAh) as 1340, not sure where it pulls this info from but it may indicate that some kind of calibration may be required for the device to recognize full capacity (on iPAQ hx4705 there was an issue with early drivers, if you used an extended battery calibration would 'stick' with the stock battery, and it would show 0%.. then you could reboot the phone and it would jump back up to 60% or whatever was really left) - again I don't know if this is an issue at all yet (still charging the first charge) but that's what TBattery reports.
that is pretty disappointing to hear overall.
The only thing I don't see that Da_G mentioned is the silver issue. I don't have an external charger so I just charged it in the phone overnight with the phone off.
Here are my results so far: 30 something hours without charging and I am at 72%. I've made about 20 minutes worth of calls and have push email on. I am using Lantis OS with whatever the stock fuze radio is.

you barely use the phone with only 20 minutes of calls. I would like to hear from someone like me who uses the phone all day, gets hundreds of emails and sends about as many, countless texts, and is off and on the internet all day for work and social purposes. I would like to see how this extended battery helps that level of user and last longer (hopefully)
Tbattery supports logging every n interval, we can use a program to stress the device in a consistant manner, log the battery level decay over time and get a clear picture. (% batt at time index n, time to complete exhaustion, etc) i plan to do this as soon as i run the battery through a few cycles (documentation says 4-5 cycles before max capacity is reached)
edit: attached is a pic of tbattery after first charge, 4 hours 55 minutes connected to hspa.. pretty heavy intarwebs and gps usage. light calling (10 min or so)
if anyone else is interested in doing a test on the standard battery under the same controlled circumstances, that would cut the time it takes in half..

Hey everybody,
So I think that my HTC Wizard's battery is about to go.
When I look at it, it feels a little swollen. I think that it was flat when I first got it, but honestly, how many of us actually need to look at the battery that often? Got it about five months ago, and it was refurbished at the time.
Another thing that seems to indicate that the battery is dying is that when I'm playing a game like Spb Quadronica or Skyforce Reloaded, the battery level takes a deep dive (like 30 - 40%) after about 30 minutes of playing. These battery levels are from Spb Mobile Shell since I removed the T-Mobile application from startup that shows an icon in the system tray.
When I first got this, I was able to play Skyforce Reloaded for probably two hours before it reaches the same drainage. The battery looks like it was also refurbished since the black metallic coating was coming off on the end opposite of the battery contacts.
When it's at some inexplicable power level like 24% after playing for a short time, I restart the device (sometimes it does this automatically without warning) and it's back to like 78%, which is more or less what it should be at for that length of usage.
On a seemingly random restart, it will be stuck in a restart cycle going from the T-Mobile splash screen to the Windows Mobile boot screen and then restarting before it makes it to the Password window.
I try to use the same techniques when taking care of my battery as I do for lithium ions in laptops, such as power cycling (complete drain and full recharge) once or twice a month.
Should I be worried about the battery? Should I just get a new one since they're not that expensive? Is there something else that might be causing this?
Thank you for your time. Any help is greatly appreciated.
you should replace it. a battery gets swollen if the heat boils the chemicals inside it. that happens due to inequality in material density (which is caused by other electrical issues). if you keep using it it might pop if it heats up too much and spill all over your phone.
The battery is a goner, replace it immediately, before it leaks or bursts and create further mess.Yes! one more thing, don't buy a refurbished batteries,as you can never be sure about the condition of the battery, spend a little more and get a new and warranted,it'll save further complications and expenses.
Thanks for the replies.
Well, I got the refurbished Wizard as a gift. It was purchased from TigerDirect.ca. I guess that a refurbished phone also means a refurbished battery to them.
Have either of your used Global-Batteries.ca or any of the other their localized sites for batteries before? Are they reliable? I've never really been big on purchasing things online. I don't even have a PayPal account.
So I'm a little wary about using them to buy a battery online. Pretty good price though.

I do not know where you are at, but in america you can go to any batteries plus and they have the battery for the wizard. I recently replaced mine with a new one. I think it was about 30 or 40 dollars. Not bad considering that I use it alot. here is a link to their website.
www.batteriesplus.com
Well, it's only $18 CDN on Global-Batteries.ca, so I was hoping for that.
Just to confirm, I should be looking for WIZA16 if I only want the standard capacity battery right?
First some backgound.
In preparation for a big event where I will be using my phone for web surfing a lot, I pick up the huge brick2600mah battery. It works well and last all day. I forgot my charger and had to charge the phone over USB and that only seems to charge the battery to 75%. But that is a different issue.
So when I get home, I put back in the stock battery so the phone will no longer be a brick in my picket any more. (The 2600mah battery will be used for events where I need the power)
But the stock battery is not lasting very long at all any more. The capacity seems to be down 50%. I left it in my truck once and came back to find it almost dead. It went from fully charged with the car charger to dead in 2 hours.
A week or so later, in the same spot, I knew I was going to be out of ear shot, so I left my fully charged phone, in airplane mode to save the battery. 4 hours later and it's dead like a door nail.
I have since done the same and the battery is low after 6 hours, but not dead. Something strange is going on. I have ran the phone till dead 3 times and fully charged it and that seemed to help, but it's still not happy. It also takes 8+ hours to charge.
A few hours ago, I managed to hard lock the phone, so I pop out the battery. The battery swollen. Not Sony like, but like something inside is really pressing hard against the case and wants to get out. Note I am talking about the stock HTC battery, not the brick.
My stock battery problems may be unrelated to the use of the 2600 brick battery, but I figure it's worth bringing up.
Anyone else seen this? Can I bug T-Mobile about getting a new battery?
Any suggestions next to bury it in a hole before it explodes and kills us all?
If the stock as really swollen, you'd better contact Tmo and get a replacement. I think it might got over heated when you left it in the truck. Did you put it on the dashboard? Was that a hot sunny day? Any temperature above 60 degrees Celsius can cause permanent damage to lithium-ion batteries. Crystals growing on one of the electrodes (can't remember which) can penetrate the insulation and touch the other side, causing a internal short. This will heat the liquids inside the battery and when the pressure rise beyond control...
You need a new battery, batteries can swell like that either from heat or too high current drained. Might be a defect in the battery from the start as well tho (short-circuit waiting to happen or something, who knows?)

Any lithium battery that experiences swelling should immediately be viewed as a potential hazard. At this point you cannot drop it off in a battery recycling drop-off point (and perish the thought of just tossing it in the trash). I recommend you take it to a T-Mo store and demand an exchange for a new battery. You'll also be relieved of the responsibility to deal with disposing of it properly.
Nice game of connecting the dots. I normally put my phone in the shade when left in my truck for several hours. But I miscalculated the position of the sun and when I checked back in a few hours, it was not in direct sunlight and hot. Not too hot to handle, but toasty. Only happened once, but I guess that sure could be the cause.
The battery is not hot now or bursting out of it's case, and I have been using it for 2 months so I don't think it will be an issue recycling it. Is a T-Mobile store just going to hand over a new battery to me?
Bonus, I now know why the battery in my GPS only lasted 2 months.
Even if it's not in direct sunlight, the temp inside of a car on a sunny day can easily go over 200 degrees F... in many cases going up to 300 degrees.

As said 100% correctly by jashsu, your battery is basically hazardous. Keep it away from anything you want to stay alive (you, your property, your G1...) until you can get it to T-Mobile.
XDA does not condone this, but your best bet to get a new battery is to lie. If you tell them you left it in the sun, they're most likely not going to replace it. Play dumb and tell them nothing odd happened and you have no idea why it did it.
If you bought it from em and are still in contract with them, I'd be pretty shocked if they didn't replace it on the spot (even if you don't have warranty). Until then, do NOT use the battery, and be thankful that it didn't destroy your G1.

I have been still using the phone. Bloated battery and on. It has not tried to kill me as of yet.
Today I went down to the t-mobile store and told the guy at the counter that my phone was only holding a charge for 5 hours at most. He suggested a battery swap and if that does not fix it, a phone swap. I handed him my puffed out battery, and he handed me a new, slimmer one. He never asked for my phone, my number, or nothing else. Once again I am reminded why I go with the only carrier that does not offer 3G service in my area. T-Mobile service rocks.
HTC sent me a replacement unit for the Nexus One I have with dust under the screen. Here are my observations:
- A Nexus One with no battery or battery cover was loosely surrounded by the plastic that comes with a new phone, sitting in a standard shipping box with some bubble wrap.
- The phone appears to be unused - no scratches anywhere, not even near the USB port.
- The serial number on the replacement phone is 7936 higher than on the original N1.
- The part number on the new phone is: "99HKE002-01" but the part number on the old N1 is "99HKE002-00 F". Not sure what the "F" is for, but it looks like I got a newer revision of the N1. I bought the first N1 a couple of days after release. What is the p/n on the new AT&T version of the N1?
- The IMEI number on the replacement phone is 6825776 higher than my original N1.
- The darker plastic parts on the phone are a different color than my original N1. It is more of light gray color than the darker, almost chocolate original color. I like the original more, and now my battery cover does not match the rest of the phone.
- The trackball is a different color. It is now almost transparent white instead of transparent darker color like the dark plastic. It's possible my old trackball is just dirty, but I don't think that is the case.
- The volume button (especially volume down) on the replacement phone has much better feeling when pressed. It seems to have longer travel when depressed, and it clicks better. I always thought the volume down button on my original phone was not that great.
- The haptic feedback is less intense (too weak) with the replacement phone. I'm not sure if this is because I was using custom ROMs and kernels or if there is a hardware/software change with the replacement phone.
- The screen on the new phone seems sharper than the old screen, could just be imagining it. The old phone had some dead pixels and could have some other underlying problem.
- The battery life is significantly better, maybe related to the seemingly different screen. It might just be because the custom ROMs have worse battery life. Huge difference though.
- The replacement phone is not engraved, but I was told that would be the case.
- The old battery cover fits fine on the new phone.
- There is no dust under the screen, yet.
I am happy with the replacement phone because it seems to be brand new and a rev newer than the original N1 I have. I assume they made some very small improvements with the revision, but it could also just be something as minor as the plastic coming from a different paint batch, or a better adhesive was used under the screen to stop dust from coming in, who knows.
The only downside is the different color of the plastic. I would be bothered by the color difference, especially since the battery cover does not match the rest of the phone anymore, and because I like the old color more, but I plan on sending the phone into Colorware for a matte black unicolor finish. My only worry here is that Colorware will have to remove the screen to paint the plastic, and when they put it back together they will have to re-use the original adhesive tape on the back of the screen, which may not seal properly and give me dust under my screen again.
I'll try to take some pictures and post them later.
Interesting stuff, I have been wondering if there have been runnning production changes and it appears that there may well be some.

Yes, my original N1 that I'm packing up to ship back now was rooted. They may or may not honor the warranty, and may make me pay to repair the dusty screen, or they might just let me send back the replacement phone (I won't root the replacement until I hear back from HTC). Worst case scenario I end up with two N1s that I paid full price for. I would just sell the old one on ebay or craigslist.
I'll call up about the color difference and see if they will send me a matching battery cover.
I've also noticed the significant difference in battery life between nexus ones. I've had a t-mobile one and two at&t ones, one a swap for the other with a dead pixel (you probably saw my recent thread about the displays.) The t-mobile one had great battery life, the first at&t one was bad at about half the battery life, and this new at&t one seems to have good battery life, on par with the original t-mobile one. I'm surprised at the variability of these phones.

By chance did the 99HKE002-00 F have bad battery life too? Cause I can hardly go a full day without being on EDGE.

I could get about 12-14 hours with moderate use, 1-2 hours of web surfing, 1-2 phone calls, 5-6 sms.
Did you notice a change in screen color temperature? I received my replacement Nexus One and it too has very very weak haptic feedback vibration.
What's worse is that my screen on low brightness setting looks totally pink! I've contacted HTC about this and they're going to be swapping the replacement for another replacement. I'm hoping that the replacement won't have these defects.
What about external speaker guys? Do you found it louder from the older devices?
The loudspeaker is pretty much the same between my tmo and att nexus's. I sold my tmo nexus so I can't do a side-by-side comparison, but IMO, the screen of my new att is less saturated and more blue'ish, not a bad thing though. The autobrightness is not as good as my tmo version. The brightness is always set to low by the phone

I don't notice any pink color on low brightness, but I really don't have a good eye for these things. It certainly is not obvious if it there at all.
Did HTC say anything about the weak haptic feedback?
EDIT: Damnit man, now I kinda might be maybe seeing some pink on low brightness. No idea if it was the same on the last phone though.

With the new N1 I make it ~16 hours with about 30% left, as opposed to 0% after ~12-14 hours with the old N1. Again, the old phone was rooted, but I doubt the custom ROMs make that big a difference, if any.
Today, I took the phone off the charger at 7am and it is now 930PM. I have used the phone very lightly today and am at ~65%.

Well they told me they will waive all of the restocking fees and such. So I am just going to return everything and repurchase somewhere down the line... I wanted to make sure I can return the thing if I can't adjust from the iPhone.
But for example, today I spent most of the day in the airplane so it was in my pocket on standby. Took her off the charger at about 11 thing was warning me about 15% around 6:30, and I was flying all day so I didn't even use it for more than an hour or so.

You most definitely havea a defective phone.
I am a Nexus advocate and the same will most likely be true no matter which name or branding Google chooses to use... that is as long as they don't steer away from the customizability and the virtually impossibility of a software brick.
Anywho I am a owner of a 6p. I bought it in Feb. around Valentine's day. The reason this is revenant is because @ that time is when the gold nexus came out and was on sale. The only problem being was I didn't want the gold.. I wanted the aluminum one. I was able to remedy that easily enough. I ordered a new Rear housing via ali express which came with the glass and bottom plastic piece that covered the screws. I have repaired my Nexus 5 lcd probably 5 times. So I have some experience with mobile repair. When the back finally came in (like a month). I watched a quick tutorial of a tear down. When I was applying heat I used a little too much and ruined my camera. I was able to access the camera but it was very blurry to the point of not being able to make out what ever it was. So I ordered another camera via ali express again, waited a month, then attempted another repair. This time I had no issues with the heat gun or removing the rear housing. To replace the camera was not as easy as it would have been for the Nexus 5... there are several steps involved... one of which being too take out the battery... I cannot figure out for the life of me why Huawei would feel it necessary to apply a **** ton of adhesive on a battery that has little to no wiggle room but they did. While I was attempting the removal I ripped the poly bag and could instantly smell the lithium. Soooo I ended up ordering a new battery from China again. While I was waiting for it to come in the phone fell off of my bench and cracked the screen. I had no idea if the screen would work or not until the battery arrived so I could test. Well the battery came in finally I installed it with no issues. The phone is once again in one piece but unfortunately the screen does not work, but, I am not sure that it is only the screen not working. Is there anyway that I would be able to troubleshoot or verify that it is only the screen that isn't working? This is why I named the post pivotal moment... if it is only the screen and I can somehow verify it then ill purchase a screen... but if I order the screen, replace it, only to find out that it is not the screen where the problems reside and/or it is only one of many problems then I'll probably give up and lick my wounds.. So, in a nutshell, is there anyway to run a diagnostic or anything like it... At this point ANY help or suggestions are welcome.
Sent from my LG-D415 using Tapatalk
Well to me it sounds like you should be able to turn the phone on at least? Once it's on, give it maybe 5 solid minutes to boot just in case and try to operate it. If you see no response then try to call the phone. That would engage the screen, sound, and motor for the vibrate, if set... Go from there?

Try holding down volume down + power for a couple seconds and plug it into a PC and see if it tries to load fastboot drivers.
one of my problems is that i cannot tell if the battery is charging or not... is there anyway to bypass charging port and put a direct charge to the battery so that I at least know that the battery will charge and/or hold the charge... That will also let me know if my charging port is working or not.

My apologies about the tardiness of my response.. I put it on the charger yesterday for a good 8 hours..
no matter how long i push the power button I receive no response from the phone..
I've tried this while having the phone connected via USB to the pc..
I've used a multimeter and it reads 3.7v which is right on par but I have no way to test under a load to confirm that it remains at that level.
I'm curious to know if there is a way to test without battery...

No worries, we all have lives.
And well, the only thing you could really do would be to remove the battery and then jump the terminals from an external supply.
It'd be the same as using a laptop with the battery removed and having it plugged into the wall still.
Replaced battery a month ago, been working like a champ since lasting me most of the day with heavy use. Then for some reason yesterday, it decided to start running hot all the time and killing the battery faster than before I replaced it. Neither the system battery stats nor Accubattery are showing me anything helpful.
Hi there. This happened to me last night, now I have an orange-reddish light on constantly, the light is to the left of the camera eye in the front. I am now assuming the battery died. Can you please direct me to where I can buy a replacement battery and possibly a link on how to open the phone. Grateful for any help.

For the phone disassembly, watch this: Essential Phone Teardown (fixez.com). DO NOT use the teardown video from ifixit.com, unless you want to completely destroy your phone. I would suggest using a plastic spudger instead of a playing card, and you can use a suction cup to assist with lifting the screen. Also see my post about the screen replacement for some hints and details.
Where to get the battery would depend on your geography, I guess. If I needed it, I'd go with Amazon, for example here or here.
Good luck with your repair!
